- Kim (10/5): Lovely bed and breakfast - Beautiful home, set in lovely garden. Tastefully decorated and very comfortable. Delicious home cooked breakfast with plenty of choice. We needed to drive out for an evening meal, which we didn't mind as it was only a short drive to Alnwick with plenty of choice, but you could get a taxi if you preferred not to drive. A good tip is to book your chosen restaurant in advance as it gets very busy.

- CGC_1974 (10/5): Beautiful house in quiet surroundings. A gem. - A personal welcome upon arrival, friendly staff and a beautiful house, made this a really memorable experience. My room was just right, with lots of old house quirks that make the stay extra special. I had to leave early due to my travel plans and they were very accommodating, even offering to make breakfast at a very early hour of the morning! Nothing the property could have done would have made my stay better - I had special travel plans that meant I had to cut my visit short but I'll be back when next in the area.

- Claire (10/5): Great B+B in a lovely setting with a lovely host - The twin room was enormous and very comfortable and spacious with plenty of wardrobe and drawer space and 2 chairs as well as tea/coffee facilities and a Nespresso machine outside the room. Carolyn was lovely and very accommodating. Parking was right out side the house in a very quiet rural area but in a good location and less than 10minutes drive in to Alnwick 2 different ways. There was lots of choice for breakfast of both continental and cooked breakfast. Service was a little slow because Carolyn works alone mostly so as long as you aren't in a rush it was fine. The cooked breakfast was delicious too. The local pub recommendation for evening was great too. Other than one of the twin bed having a squeaky headboard, nothing to fault

The house and rooms are decadent with the beds very comfortable. The location is well placed for visiting both Alnwick and the coast. Peacefulness and quiet grounds are the thing we noticed most. There was nothing to dislike about Rock House. The only thing of note which is nothing to do with Rock House, is the local pub The Horseshoes inn in rock was disappointing for food and choice is limited in comparison to their website. The quality was confirmed by other diners either complaining or sending food back, in my opinion i would rate it as expensive pub grub.

We arrived early, due to the weather and were able to access the room earlier than advertised. There were cobwebs on the light fittings. There was mould behind the shutters for the main window, this was only found on the morning of departure. These things should have been dealt with before the room was let.

The room was huge, yet comfortable with classical furniture and a beautiful period feel, with all the modern touches. Breakfast was the best I have experienced anywhere. It actually surpassed what we were offered when staying in London at Horse Guards, in terms of the variety on the cooked breakfast menu and on the self serve buffet, and in terms of how delicious and beautifully prepared it was. The breakfast / dining room is like a home set in an Agatha Christie book. The host and overall welcome is warm and friendly. Cannot think of anything...

- Janet (8/5): - this is a lovely property tucked away off the main A1 road about 10 minute drive from Alnwick. On arrival we didn't feel the greeting from the host was in any way personable so that was not a good first impression. we were told on arrival the breakfast starts at 8 and ends at 9.30 ; ourselves and another couple were down at 8.15 and the cereal choices were all out but no milk or hot drinks and the host finally appeared at arounds 8.25 and seemed surprised we were already there? After that the hot drinks and cooked food choices were swiftly taken and two more couples appeared and it seemed as though the staff were not fully prepared but once everything arrived the quality of the breakfast was very good but again no personal conversation about how we slept; did we find somewhere to eat the previous evening etc. and for a house with only 5 guest rooms i expected more personal interaction. Our room was clean and pleasant and the bed and very comfy and very quiet; the light / shaver pointover the sink in the shower room didnt work which was a minor inconvenience. These niggles made this a 3-4 star stay as opposed to 5.
