- Ethyle (10/5): - Wow Joshua Creek Ranch is amazing. Beautiful ranch friendly staff . Definitely want to stay again.
- Cheryl (8/5): -
- Kristi (10/5): Nice Trip - We had a great stay! We loved it!! We didn’t realize the restaurant or cantina would not be open, so take good in case it is closed.
- van der Hem (9/5): -
- charles (1/5): Beautiful property but did not give us all the details of staying there - The staff at the front desk was very nice and helpful. Unfortunately, this issue was out of their control
They tried to be helpful but to no avail We arrived at 4 pm from driving all day to get there. We were told there was not restaurant or bar . We were told when we booked, our check in time was 4 . If we would have know that they did not serve dinner or drinks, we would not have stayed here . After we were told this when we arrived, we left to find another property . I would like a refund for the price of the room, we were not told all the details when we checked in online .
- James (9/5): An outstanding location, and relaxing venue. - Location and amenities A niche facility for bird hunters, a bit pricey, but worth it for a relaxing stay. Go during the week, as it is packed on the weekends. Fall and early winter are the major seasons (bird hunting season), but a relaxing stay for non hunters too.
- Inas (7/5): -
- Eleonora (10/5): - Unique experience and environment!
- Sara (10/5): - Going to a hunting ranch in the off season is great. It was quiet and we had the place to ourselves. Will definitely go back next summer.
- Jeremy (10/5): - Great place to relax in the country

- Azimbell (9/5): We really enjoyed staying at JCR. My son had a great time attending Orvis flyfishing school. - Very nice facilities and friendly staff.
My son had a great time attending the Orvis flyfishing school.
The ranch has a nice pool, relaxation area and is nearby Boene and other nice places.

- Victoria (10/5): Upon arrival we checked in and was greeted by very friendly staff. Our room was so cozy and we enjoyed the pool and an i - Property was so beautiful and well maintained. You really enjoyed being outside to take it all in. Truly a hidden gem. The direction signs on the property were hard to read.
- Keith (10/5): Exploratory visit to schedule some activities w my 11 year old nephew who is not gun shy. - Staff was extremely accommodating, courteous and professional.
I did not eat but will plan on it next time. leaving
- Nicolette (10/5): Exceptional -
- Madison (10/5): Great spot overall! - Beautiful! Quiet and had everything you need! Rooms are a bit small but the common areas help a lot. Bar drinks at the pool were made completely wrong. I ordered two margaritas and got 2 ranch waters for $45. A bit disappointing but that’s okay
- Thomas (10/5): Take your significant other! - An out of the way oasis!
- Lisa (10/5): If you want to get away from your day to day routine and refresh your mindset, Joshua Creek Ranch is - We love the beautiful well-kept grounds! Everything was SOOOO perfect!
- Shari (10/5): Awesome Place - Beautiful Awesome Quite Relaxing Place! Drive to get something to eat. But I do understand. I would definitely stay again!
- Anne (10/5): It was a wonderful place to stay and I’m sure we will be back. Thank you. - The grounds are simply beautiful! It was so peaceful. We sat out in the porch and had our coffee. I wish the room was large enough to have a chair in it. I also wish they weren’t shooting so close to the lodge so early in the morning.
- Teresa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mike (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (6/5): Beautiful place but pricey and not really geared for wedding parties. - the facility location is beautiful and fit the location need near the wedding venue Room was way too small for the price and my daughter was misled on the common room use to prep for her bridesmaids.
- Sarah (3/5): Poor - It was very pretty and clean. Our room was not as advertised. We paid for a deluxe king room and it was two twin beds pushed together.
- Margaret (10/5): Exceptional -
- Emilie (10/5): - Very good, we have liked the place a lot!
- Enrico (10/5): Exceptional -
- Iolanda (9/5): Superb -

- Anonymous (10/5): We stayed on night after a week in the city and it absolutely made the trip. Wish we could have stayed longer. - Beautiful and Quiet Peaceful
- Mason D. (10/5): - Beautiful property! Friendly and accommodating staff. Quit and relaxing.
- Anonymous (9/5): We had a wonderful experience and will be back soon. - We love the scenic view, private and clean room room, facilities and activities and natural beauty of the property. Its a wonderful place to unwind and relax. The dining breakfast menu did not include healthy choice
options. Additionally, there is no fitness facility or GYM and SPA for the women.
- Lynn (10/5): Nice stay - Great food. All good
- Belinda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lonny (7/5): Was not quite as grand as the photos online but a nice clean place to stay. - Like the pool area and the grounds. Did not partake in the shooting sports but they look appealing. Room was a little on the small size. Bathroom and shower were small with the sink in the sleeping area. Water pressure was not adequate.
- Robert (8/5): Loved this place. I came with my family and will definitely be returning! - Everything from the staff, the facilities, and the amenities were excellent. Will definitely be coming back. The beds in the Englishman room were small in my opinion. I’m 5 foot 10, so of average height, and I found the bed to be small. Also found it to be way too soft, but that’s a matter of opinion.
- Ray (6/5): Not up to expectations - Location was a mixed bag - it's in the middle of nowhere which gave solitude/quiet but also made it hard to go and come since there is no food option on site (unless you pre-order). It is 20 minutes on small country roads from Boerne and 30 minutes from Kerrville, the closest towns with shopping/eating options. The room was smaller than expected without a desk, closet, dresser, or place to put a suitcase. The bathroom was tiny with only a shower. Lighting was very weak and there are no windows so room was dim. In addition, the cost of about $200 puts it in the category of much nicer options.
- Jennifer (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (6/5): Lacking hospitality. - The property was fine....room was fine... the location was perfect for what I wanted.... the staff ....well the concept of hospitality was lacking. First, I called and asked about a slightly early checkin, and was told no because of how busy they were. When I got there, well they clearly were not busy. That I could have overlooked, but when I arrived at the property at the proper time, it was hard to understand where to check in. So I called, and they immediately put me on hold, and then after sitting for 10 minutes, hung up on me. So finally I found a sign that stated check in a the "pro shop" which was at the back of the property. I went there, no cars in the parking lot, no one in the pro shop, so know reason to put me on hold and then hang up. When I went to check in, I said nothing about any of this, just asked for my room. The lady was very put out about helping me, she showed me where to go on a map, but when I asked her about where we were on the map, she was really put out. And then she couldn't figure it out and got more put out. She didn't know what building she was in, on HER OWN MAP. So I had to just drive around to find the rooms. And as I was walking out the door, she yelled at me that if I wanted to eat at the property , it would take a reservation.... I said, not to worry about that.
- Carla (10/5): - Fabulous. I definitely will be back and stay longer!!
- Rick (10/5): It was a pleasure to stay here. Want to come back. - Setting, Pool, Bar, creek access. NA
- Richard (5/5): Passable -
- Raymundo (10/5): Great place! - The place is very very nice and super quiet at night. No complaints at all. The staff is great! Wish we could swim in the creek but we couldn't due to the low levels. Hopefully we will be able to on our next stay. Didnt get to do any shooting but there will be other opportunities.
- Dolores (10/5): - It was a wonderful place to stay. Just a short drive from Boerne.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Everything was nice and inviting. It’s a great place to get away and enjoy nature with the convenience of all the amenities.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - A great place to get away from the hustle and bustle. Fun activities for the entire family. Beautiful scenic views.
- Jose (10/5): Great - Great place to get away and detach from work.
- Otilia (8/5): Relaxing - Very relaxing highly recommend
- Verified traveler (8/5): - A beautiful place for a weekend and the men enjoyed some sporting clay shooting. I felt the food let it down a tad. But then I like my food.
- David H. (10/5): It was great - Very nice
- Nicole (10/5): Beautiful Getaway - Our stay was amazing! If you are looking for a quite place for a getaway, this is your place! Beautiful country, lots of wildlife, the facilities was very nice and the staff was friendly. Will definitely be going back this summer. Would recommend to anyone!!
- Jody C. (10/5): Beautiful area - The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the outdoor area was amazingly clean and comfortable. Nice fires on the patio and beautiful views.
- Wilhelm (6/5): Hunters or boys get away - This is a beautiful hunters ranch. What i din't realize is that there is no one at the reception past 7pm. You have to call and they will give you directions on where to pick up your key. The good thing is all the rooms have names but getting there after dark can be frustrating. You have to make reservations for food. The king bed we booked were two doublebeds joined together so there was a gap between both beds. The outside amenities were great especially the river flowing by and bonfire. This is definitely a hunters or guys type of a trip. Great folks and very helpful.
- Nirma (4/5): - The room was extremely small; no counter space for toiletries. I thought it included breakfast. Very expensive to sleep in a closet
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was a relaxed atmosphere. Safe shooting and mostly the staff was really great.
- Carol (10/5): - It was fun! Amanda and all the staff were great!
My husband and I had an issue because I put the wrong address in phone, which made us drive longer to get to Jacob Creek Ranch! Then the next day on a hike I lost my phone! My husband was not happy about that, but I found it on the trail!! We will look back at that and laugh! The room was cozy and in the morning we enjoyed the rocking chairs and the sunrise! We enjoyed the pool and hot tub!
- Erika (8/5): Signs would help - Everything was good except for getting assistance on finding the location for the complimentary breakfast
- Gary Harber (10/5): - Enjoyed our stay very much
- William (8/5): Weekend Get Away - We had a great weekend at Joshua Creek. It was the relaxing get away we had been looking to experience. The facility was excellent, even though we are not hunters. The pool was very nice and the cantina at pool side was terrific. The staff was friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed two excellent dinners at the on site restaurant. We will come back.
- Keith John (10/5): Fantastic place! - We only spent one night here but can’t wait to go back to spend several more. Off the beaten path, this is an awesome place. The chefs special at their restaurant was great, axis tenderloin, who would have thought it was so tender and mouth watering. Thanks for a wonderful stay, the staff was friendly and helpful. Found my new favorite place to go.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Beautiful, quite rustic setting.
In our room there was no coffee maker, no refrigerator. That wasn't so bad, but we didn't have bottles of water nor plastic cups from which to get a drink from the faucet. Morning coffee at the restaurant was not ready until 7:30; no coffee and not even a drink of water in our room until then. We would love to have been able to have morning coffee just outside our door on the great porch in the rockers!
- Joseph (10/5): Almost perfect - This place is amazing, the perfect “get away from it all” place, but....it is a hunter’s retreat so you’ll be hearing constant shooting. If you like that sound this place is perfect. If you don’t...then not so much.
- Gena (10/5): Tranquil - Beautiful place, friendly.
- Timothy (8/5): Very nice, beautiful ranch. Great staff. - Nice ranch and far enough out to be secluded but close enough for a trip in to town. Very nice area.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Awesome. 10/10 will visit again. Weather didn’t cooperate but still fantastic experience.
- Robert (8/5): Beautiful grounds - Beautiful grounds and excellent food. The rooms are new, but small. There is a commons area that provides extra space for lounging, coffee, games, etc. For the Long Haus where we stayed, they are constructing a pool that will enhance the experience. For hunters and those that love the outdoors, this is a must stay location. We saw deer, turkeys, ducks, etc.
- James (8/5): Satisfied - Everything was amazing. Very comfortable, relaxing, intimate. Loved the theme rooms. Only downside was the pool was under construction. But would definitely stay again.
- NELSON (8/5): Relaxing - Peaceful
- Jessica (10/5): - Beautiful property grounds and comfortable room, I wasn’t aware of a game room area when I booked so it was a welcome surprise. This ranch was gorgeous and we loved our stay!
- Donald J (10/5): Stunning vistas with comfortable lodge. - Had a great time. This ranch is a lovely spot in a remote and unique setting. Staff were very nice and breakfast was delicious.
- Twyla (10/5): - VERY Nice Place. Beautiful scenery!! The hotel staff was amazing and the food was incredible!. We were the only ones there because their season was over and we were staying in the middle of the week, but talk about peace and tranquility... I would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting to get away to nature. We saw ducks, wild turkey for morning patio coffee time then had an amazing breakfast and walked along the creek. I will definitely come back!
- Steph (8/5): - The check in was less than pleasant because the person at the desk was unpleasant. She seemed to not want us there, didn’t tell us about the amenities of the hotel and said we needed a reservation in a most unwelcoming tone for dinner there onsite. Later in the evening, we had a pleasant time; one of the young gentlemen working there was sweet and accommodating when we needed ice. So, overall the staff was mixed with their hospitality.
- MD (10/5): - Gorgeous place. Beautiful views. Friendly staff, clean facility over all. Will be back!
- Ashley (10/5): Beautiful! - Beautiful property! Very friendly staff. We will definitely go back!
- Juan (4/5): Just an expensive room, nothing else. - Do not stay here unless you are a hunter.there is not even a restaurant for Bk. Room was clean and nice, but only 2 towels for 4 people.
- Joey (10/5): Hill Country Charm - Very nice place to stay. I would advise getting there early as checking in after dark could be tricky. It was cool seeing all the wildlife. Chukars, quail and pheasants would walk right up to the common areas. I will book Joshua Creek Ranch every time it's available.
- Vanessa (2/5): Was never able to check-in - We tried checking in around 10PM after attending a wedding that evening. I called several times and left voicemails but my calls were never returned. There was no way for us to check in earlier than 10PM because the wedding was literally from 3PM (check-in time) until 10PM. I even called and let the staff know ahead of time, but it didn't matter. Terrible customer service.
- Rd (10/5): Nice lodge - Great place everything was great, except bed was a little small it was comfortable but I couldn't understand why it was a Murphy bed in a small room with 1 bathroom it was nice just a small bed for a couple to sleep on
- H&J (10/5): Beautiful, full of life, and QUIET - Joshua Creek Ranch IS the essence of Hill Country! Gushing, meandering creeks and rivers, majestic limestone outcroppings, water oaks and willow trees. Plus a comfortable room overlooking the hollow. All the sights and sounds of Hill Country in a peaceful ranch setting.
