Sanjeewa was very helpful - firstly he helped me park my car (by registering my vehicle with the local council for an affordable multi storey car park), then he took good care of me at breakfast. Needing to park away from the hotel wasn’t ideal, but not a deal breaker - just something to bear in mind.

- Caroline (8/5): Great location, comfy room - Great location, made very welcome by Sanjeewa. Our room was cosy, clean and comfortable. After speaking to Sanjeewa we knew that parking was off-site and charagable at a nearby location. Worked a dream, we got the park and ride into Canterbury, had a mooch around and sorted parking later in the day as it was a 24hour charge. Breakfast was good, plenty of choice. We'll definitely be back.

- Darren (8/5): Great central location. - The hotel is centrally located with quick access to shops, bars and restaurants. A simple but satisfying breakfast offered each morning. The owner, Sanjeewa, was very helpful, polite and accommodating. You get what you pay for so no criticism but the decor, furniture and facilities are dated.

- Ollie (6/5): Great location to be able to explore Canterbury on foot - The location was brilliant, just off of the main high street in Canterbury, with bars and shops nearby. Parking is available a few streets away, and Sanjeewa was really helpful is sorting this for us (and giving us some other tips about Canterbury! The room was clean and comfortable, and breakfast was basic but nice, although not available on the last morning of our stay. Small bathroom with not great facilities, but this might have just been in our room.

- Denise (6/5): - The room was on the ground floor facing the street, which could have been very noisey but in fact was triple glazed, so ok. The breakfast was continental and Sanjeewa (our host) was very attentive and always made sure that choices were topped up and available. The property is in a good location, very central. The shower needed some attention, the fitting was to high, and the explair didn't work. The small fridge in the room also didn't work, and when we asked if it could be changed for another one, Sanjeewa (our host) explained that he was waiting for 2 others to be replaced and so unfortunatly didn't have a spare, but he had reported it to the owners and was hoping they would all be replaced soon. The outside of the property could do with a paint, first impressions always count. Make the most of the location.

Le responsable de l'hôtel , Mr Sanjeewa, nous a accueilli chaleureusement tout en se rendant disponible pour répondre à nos questions, malgré toutes les tâches quotidiennes qu'il doit accomplir seul dans cet établissement. Il veille avec sérieux à l'entretien des chambres en maintenant un environnement propre malgré la vétusté de l'hôtel. Hôtel vieillissant et vétuste que les propriétaires devraient fortement rénover et équiper (literie,sol salle de bain).
- VIRGINIA (10/5): Exceptional stay in the heart of Canterbury! - Greyfriars Lodge is an absolute gem! The location is unbeatable, just a few steps away from the Cathedral and right in the city centre. Our room was spotlessly clean, cozy and beautifully maintained. The highlight of our stay was Sanjeewa, he is an incredibly attentive and welcoming host, always ready to help with any request and genuinely dedicated to his guests' needs. We also loved the continental breakfast: it was fresh, very abundant and delicious. I highly recommend this B&B for its cleanliness, perfect location and outstanding hospitality. We will definitely be back!

- Daniel (9/5): Tagestrip nach Canterbury - Das Hotel liegt direkt an der High Street, ist aber trotzdem abends auch ruhig (wir waren an einem Freitag da) Sanjeewa hat uns herzlich in Empfang genommen, uns alles erklärt und sich regelmäßig nach unsererm Wohlbefinden erkundigt. Der Mann war unfassbar freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Hotelzimmer war relativ klein, die beiden Kinderbetten standen dem Elternbett direkt gegenüber, es gab ein kleines Bad, das aber gut ausgestattet war (die Fliesen auf dem Boden waren beschädigt und notdürftig repariert). Im Zimmer gab es zudem einen kleinen Kühlschrank. Wir waren in Canterbury viel unterwegs und haben im Zimmer eigentlich nur geschlafen, dafür war es perfekt geeignet. Es gibt ein kontinentales Frühstücksbuffet mit guter Auswahl an Speisen. Für längere Aufenthalte im Zimmer würde ich es nicht unbedingt empfehlen. Die Einrichtung war schon etwas abgewohnt, allerdings handelt es sich auch um ein historisches Haus

- Erik (7/5): Het hotel is niet erg nieuw, mijn kamer was klein, de badkamer nog kleiner, ‘s ochtends was er soms veel herrie, er was - Tijdens mijn bezoek zorgde Sanjeev dat ik niets te kort kwam. Hij hielp zelf mee zoeken toen ik mijn paspoort kwijt was (gevonden). Ook mocht ik mijn motor in de tuin achter het hek parkeren wat ik erg kon waarderen. Het hotel ligt op 3 stappen lopen van het centrum, dat is ook heel prettig. Het hotel ligt in een doorlopende straat waar ‘s ochtends vroeg allerlei activiteiten plaatsvinden. Zoals: de vuilnis wordt opgehaald, het wasgoed wordt opgehaald, levering van spullen en afvoer van leeggoed. Dit alles zorgt regelmatig voor herrie vanaf 06:00.

- Tullio De Rosa (7/5): Cheap and central. - The location is great, there's a Sainsbury's, a 1 minute walk away and it's quite cheap. 👍 The TV doesn't work so well, hardly any Freeview channels available and the reception is terrible. What channels you could get were unwatchable because of very poor signal reception. There's very little, if any sound proofing between the rooms, If someone has the TV or radio on, you'll be listening to it as well. The pillows supplied are skinny, hollow -fibre / foam type and aren't very comfortable....

Sadly two electric heaters in the reception area were broken. Also the light in the corridor wasn't working.

Really made you feel welcome and made sure I knew where everything was. Loved the charm of the place, very Canterbury Tales, but 21st century! The bathroom was a bit cold, but nothing that caused a problem.

Very nice staff - when I found out breakfast wasn’t til 8, which was too late, they arranged for breakfast to be earlier to accommodate. Excellent value for money. This hotel is next door to a bar/club that played music 11.30 til 1.30am which kept me awake. Other hotel guests then kept me awake until 4am which may have been unlucky but the walls are thin.

Perfect voor een bezoek aan de stad Canterbury: op een boogscheut van de kathedraal, midden in het bruisende centrum, ruime familiekamer met bad, lekker warm toch onder het dak. Heel gastvrij ontvangen, super host, huiselijk ontbijt. Parking op wandelafstand. Prijs-kwaliteit = top! Misschien dat ze in het verleden wat last hebben gehad met hygiëne maar dat was nu niets meer van te merken. Als je dit verblijf niet kan appreciëren, boek dan iets onpersoonlijk als de Hampton in de stad…

- Glazier (1/5): - Location and the staff member was extremely helpful couldnt fault the service. Toilet in room would go off if you sat down on it. Broken shower. Twin beds pushed into one but was different heights. Barely slept due to noises from street not advertised and loud guests in adjacent room until 2am even thou rules state quiet after 10pm. I got 2 hours sleep then before the deliveries and bins were collected right outside my window. Kettle could not reach the power supply so only way was to move the kettle to the floor to have coffee. Breakfast included was unable to have as had to leave for work at 7:30 but breakfast not served till 8:30. As its a continental breakfast maybe a offer of making a bag up of something the night before as this was something ive paid for in my stay but unable to have.

He was very welcoming, friendly, exhaustive with telling us more about the city and clear about the check in/put, the breakfast time. He let us leave our bags at the reception so we didn’t have to carry our bags after the check out. A real delight! Location is excellent, bed is comfortable and the room was clean. the hotel was really quiet during the night and breakfast was good although alternative milks were missing. Excellent value for the money. The toilet was really noisy, it looks like the toilet on an airplane. Same system. The arm of the shower was broken and more towels would’ve helped.

- Terri (7/5): An alright night - Excellent location, fairly priced. A beautiful building, room was clean and a nice size and the host was wonderful, very welcoming and accommodating. Mattresses were a little too hard for me, but that is personal preference. Bit noisy all through the night.

Nothing they can do about it but was very close to a loading depot for Sainsburys and was very loud being at the front of the building. As mentioned that’s out of the properties hands but I would ask for a room off the street next time.

It’s a short walk from the cathedral and shops. The property is well kept with some nice little homely touches. The owner is very welcoming, great value for money. At this point Nothing / I would Stay again if only for it's Budget Price.

No need for fridge and wardrobe took up too much space. Mostly due to the odd shape of the room. No parking and roadworks make it a risk to drive to. But that is the nature of canterbury generally.

- C F (4/5): Great location but disappointing accommodation. - A good location although on very narrow streets. Staff on duty tried hard to welcome and meet needs. There is no parking on this site. This is not what the site implies, the recommended car park was full with cars parking across roundabouts. The room itself was tatty with at least two big holes in the walls, noisy floorboards, poor decoration. The stairs were very steep a d again there is no mention on the site.
- Bailey (1/5): never again - The Location the bed was comfortable shower room had no hooks shelving to put your towels on and wash bag no toilet roll holder well there was half of one skirting was disgusting mold around shower, windows were dirty, electric fire had no dial to turn up and down ,extension leads all piled on floor, The outside was disgusting looks like it was closed down We didn't have a shower there and we didn't have breakfast. We didn't expect much all we ask for is a clean bed and clean bathroom but I thought it was bad

- Andrew (6/5): Overall good value for such a central location. but not smart. - Great location, just off the High Street. Sanjeewa was very welcoming and helpful. The place was clean and the beds were comfortable. Self-service breakfast was fine. Good price. The furniture and furnishings were rather basic. No radiator/heater in the bathroom, so the room was cold and nowhere to hang towels to dry. We couldn't get the TV to work (no remote available). No evidence of gardens: the house was next to an empty site, being used as a temporary car park.

- Tracy (8/5): Perfect host - Sanjeewa was an excellent host - really friendly and helpful. The location was excellent - right in the city centre, 5min from the Cathedral. Decent value for money for the central location. The facilities could do with some updating. This is an old building, so the stairs are quite steep and the floors are wonky in places - the property may not be suitable for those who really struggle with mobility.
