Guest Reviews
- Birthe (6/5): - Pænt hotel ift prisen.
- William (8/5): - This was a last minute, one night stay in Athens.
Room was clean, quite modern, nice bathroom with shower.
The man in reception desk in the morning was very helpful for local knowledge.
Cafe next door was handy for breakfast.
Overall good value for money.
- Sherry Lynn (4/5): - The location in general is good it’s maybe a 15 min walk to the market a couple of blocks to good food, but besides the hostel next door and a 1/2 dozen ladies if the night hanging around all day and night . The area appeared safe .
The bed though was like sleeping in the floor it was rock hard the bathroom was very small , there is no shower curtain so the entire bathroom was soaked after a shower also while in the bathroom you couldn’t see out into the room but you could see in to the bathroom from the outside. There is no privacy when in the washroom weather using the toilet or having a shower everyone in the bed room can see you.
Not great , the staff though where nice and helpfull
- LJUDMIL (4/5): - Not safe area small uncomfortable bed
- Melissa (6/5): Convenient, clean - We were able to check in hours prior to check in time at no extra cost. Front desk is friendly. You must leave your room key at the front desk every time you leave. The smell of smoke is tremendous but luckily did not carry into our room. The neighborhood is unsafe, but there is a lovely fountain square not too far to walk to and enjoy during the day.
- Sohan (8/5): - The place is good for the price. Very close to the subway station, but the area is a bit sketchy. The 3rd floor and the room had a very Strong smoking odour which was a bit disturbing.
- Jennifer (4/5): - Hotel is located in the ghetto part of Athens. Even taxi driver gave me a warning about the area. Room was clean, but small; window view of alley. No shops nearby, but can walk if feeling brave.
- Claude (10/5): - Welcoming and friendly hotel
- Allen (10/5): - It was within a walking distance to everywhere I needed to go, staff was wonderful, room is decent for a single guy, I read people complaining about area not safe! Yes.. it's not a luxurious area BUT there are police 24/7 around, and nobody will bother you.
- Elin (10/5): - Rent og pent. Veranda på rom over 6. etg. Sentralt, men et litt grått distrikt.
Rummen rena me mkt små.
- Rachel (6/5): - The room and hotel itself were good and as advertised. Daily housekeeping was a nice touch. Unfortunately we found the beds very hard and uncomfortable. We also didnt love the fact that we had to leave the key at the desk everytime we left (we couldnt keep it with us). Felt this was a bit of a security issue.
- benjamin (8/5): - I have nothing further to add
- Antoine (8/5): - Great spot near Almost everything short distance from the seafood market near omonia roundabout
20 minutes from monasteraki
3 minutes from the métro station good location clean rooms
It s my 2nd stay i like it
- Verified traveler (8/5): Staying at Mansion Hotel, Athens. - I quite enjoyed my stay. It was a budget hotel but it was reasonable accommodation and okay price. It was clean and the bathroom was respectable. The toilet wasn't too powerful but had to flush it a few times. The air conditioning was functionally which was good especially in the heat wave in July 2025. The towels were changed more or less daily as well. Another good thing was the hotel was near a metro station which was convenient, close by to all the central areas. One last thing the customer service was good too. The bloke at the reception was very informative and helpful.
- David (10/5): Two minutes walk to the metro. - The location suited me perfectly as it was close to the Omonoia Square metro on foot, and surrounded by lovely cafes. The hotel and room was spotless and modern. The staff were all so kind and friendly and reception was so helpful to answer my questions. I loved staying there. The toilet seat and television needed some very minor maintenance, but it didn’t bother me, as everything else was great. I should add that it was so quiet and the air con worked brilliantly well.
- Scott (10/5): - The gentleman at the front desk when we checked in was purses and very helpful! Great first impression .
O atendimento no check-in e no check-out foram bons.
- John (8/5): Good value - The hotel - is just as stated - basic and clean - offering good value - the negative is it’s neighbourhood, which can seem a bit dodgy at night.
- LONSDALE (4/5): - The are had drug users activity and I was not comfortable
- Kevin (8/5): - Clean rooms and easy check in. Terrible part of town but never felt dangee.
- Charlotte (10/5): - Lovely little gem of a place. Room was very clean and modern.
- Rodrigo (8/5): - Localização estratégica perto do metrô. Condicionador de ar perfeito. Camas boas, imaculadas. Frigobar funcionando perfeitamente.
- Gbenga (2/5): - Very horrible
- Emily (8/5): - 20 minutes from downtown city Centre, but the area was a little dodgy at night. Other than that it was good.
- Maria (6/5): - Hotel e camera carini e molto puliti, personale cordiale e molto disponibile ,zona come tante in centro città
- Trevor (10/5): - Great value. Tiny room with big balcony. Balcony was larger than the room. The neighborhood is a little bit rough and may feel unsafe to younger travelers. Late night food shops nearby. Walking distance to major attractions like Plaka and Acropolis. Excellent public transport connections just around the corner. Everything a tourist needs.
- Monika (8/5): Value for money - The hotel itself is not bad—except for the acoustics, which are terrible. You can hear people talking in the hallway way too well from the room, and the cleaning staff outside in the corridor sound as if they’re entering the room.
Another downside is the surrounding area. While the location is close to the city center and convenient for getting around, the hotel is surrounded by homeless people, prostitutes, and individuals struggling with drug issues. They don’t bother anyone; they simply live there, but if you’re with children, be cautious. Returning to the hotel after dark is probably best done by taxi.
On the positive side, the reception staff is very friendly and helpful—thank you! There’s a nice terrace on the 7th floor.
The hotel and rooms are fairly clean, but I’m not sure if there are bedbugs—I woke up with bites every day. At first, I thought they were mosquito bites, but when I got bitten in a straight line on my stomach, I suspected bedbugs. A mosquito wouldn’t get under the blanket and pajamas or bite in a line. I reported it to the staff.
- Michel (6/5): - If you can stand the sketchy neighborhood the hotel is decent and cheap. I feel bad because the hotel is nice enough for the price. They’ll change the sheets and the staff is very friendly. But I did see a man smoking a crack pipe in front of two cops almost immediately outside. The area is just not good.
- Linda (6/5): Oct in Athens - Informed by taxi drivers and others that this is the worst neighborhood in Athens (Omonia). Back window view of rooftops and abandoned apartments.
No shower curtain so rest of the bathroom got wet. Tiniest elevator I've ever seen! Barely held 2 people with 2 bags. 3 rooms on our floor, two rooms partied loudly until 3:40 a.m.
Helpful, friendly staff. Near bus routes.
- Michael (8/5): - The hotel staff are nice and friendly. The room is enough for a visit in the city. The shower and toilet is very small. Mostly the stay was nice as its is close to everything. On the last night we had neighbours that partied all night that kept us awake but its not the hotels fault. If you want a cheap and convenient place to stay this is not too bad. The area does have some homeless people nearby but they are harmless and they dont bother you. Its near omonia square where they have the train station directly below ground so its great to get around athens and fast for cheap. About €4.40 for a 24hr ticket. Shopping markets are not far either.
- Ana (10/5): - The staff super friendly
- Ming (6/5): - The hotel staff are great, the room is very small and the location is not too good.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Stay Away - So this isn't a mid level hotel as dictated by the price. It is a cheap hotel. The area is not safe as there is drug use and other things going on right outside. The rooms have no real furniture other than a bed, The bed is as hard as a rock and very uncomfortable. Overall stay away. If I had paid $40 a night that would have been fine.
- Pei Jin (2/5): - No table, no chairs and no supplies in a small room, only bed and a small bathroom in it. We have to put our begs and others on the floor.
- Jed (8/5): - Great hotel and the pruce is great but the area is very dirty and has a homeless issue. Despite that for the price and the standard of the hotel it cannot really be faulted.
- Mareike (10/5): - really nice and helpfull stuff! clean and central
position :)
- Stefanie (10/5): - Staff were fantastic! Area appears sketchy but travelling alone still felt find going out walking. Central location with east walking distance to sights. Overall great value for cost! Wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again!
- marco (2/5): - .
- Gustavo (8/5): - .
- Sylvana Johanna Maria (8/5): - The staff was very nice and friendly. The single room was small, but convenient. It had everything you need, the bathroom was also good. However the bed was as hard as a rock, the mattresses are definitely up for replacement. When I arrived the toilet seat was loose, but it was quickly repaired. The room was clean. The area was sketchy, especially at night there were a lot of homeless/sketchy people hanging around the hotel, they do not bother you tho. (Even as a female solo traveler.) All in all a good budget option (if you don’t mind the area.)
- Verified traveler (2/5): Insect Infestation - We could not stay in the hotel because it is infested with cockcroaches and filthy environment. I complained about the infestation but unfortunately they refuse refund. Poor customer service
- Roger (8/5): - The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was new. Not much surface area to put things on but overall a comfortable room. The neighborhood is not very nice, a little bit sketchy.
- Noor Agha (4/5): - Die Umgebung
- MANDEEP (10/5): - Property was pretty clean with friendly staff
- David (8/5): - Very basic, but very good price, good location (close to centre) in a moody area.
- Jordan (2/5): TERRIBLE PLACE - Terrible hotel to stay. Area itself is full of drug users with syringes and needles discarded on the street. Room was extremely small and uncomfortable as mattress was rock hard and with what we assume is the cleaners hair!!!Receptionist refused to deal with noisy guests. The pictures on advertisement are deceptive so do not get fooled. We had a terrible night sleep complemented with noise from jackhammer coming from the building site next door which you could almost touch by opening your window. We booked for 3 nights but left after the first night. We would have left early if it was not for the fact it was so late at night. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL
- Wendy (8/5): - I chose the single room which was quite tiny, however with the price of hotels cannot really complain. The staff were very helpful and knowledgeable and the room was quite clean.
Not somewhere to venture out in the dark but the location was central and close to the Omonia Metro.
- Damon (8/5): - Everything was ok but the shower head was at waist level and sink was so small water would get all over the place.
- sandra (6/5): - Perfect location because you have Metro very close and you are close to everything, but drug dealers, prostitution, bad and dangerous surroundings. The room was ok, nothing fancy but clean and comfortable
- Mahbuba (6/5): - The property was okay. Rooms are smaller than usual. Service of stuffs was really good, they are really helpful but bed and floor wasn't very clean. Dusts were visible. Also the area/road was very dirty and smelly.
- Sandra (2/5): Deceptive advertising - We booked online and used the photos of the hotel and room as a guide. The photos were deceptive. The room number on the wall was hanging off the wall and the lock on door had been obviously broken into in past. The doorknob was loose. The room hosted 2 twin beds (fine) but was the size of a large closet. The hotel location was in a run down area of Athens, nothing like the online site showed of views from hotel and location. We booked a nonrefundable hotel. I do not give the hotel a good review. The room and tiny bathroom were clean.
- Reemon (8/5): - Really fabulous staff! Everyone’s friendly and know basic English too which is helpful! Only a few minutes walk to transit and lots of main stores nearby. Just the few blocks around the hotel are dirty/smelly and have sometimes sketchy people on the streets, but if you mind your own business everything’s fine. Lastly the hotel room was clean and everyday they provided fresh towels and shower gel
- MA TRINIDAD (10/5): - Property itself is highly recommended 👍
- mustafa (10/5): - Very friendly employees and clean room service
- Hamid Reza (8/5): - Good
- Jason (10/5): Great hotel and perfect location - Great stay , I loved the hotel very convenient location , close to Brickell city center and to all the good restaurants . Staff is amazing
- Sixtine (8/5): - Clean and convenient but area is not good, the street feels a bit unsafe. otherwise, the staff is all super nice and very helpful!
- Cristian (8/5): - The hotel is pretty good overall. The neighboorhood is filed with homeless people.
- jorge (8/5): - The location is very good but the area nearby ca be improved. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The room was clean.
- jorge (10/5): - The hotel is well located. The personnel is very helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. The are near the hotel can be improved but that is not hotel’s responsibility. You will be a very short walk from Omonoia Square.
- Ricardo (10/5): Good Choice - Very close to the metro. The room is small but it is a bargain in downtown Athens. The service was outstanding and the person in the counter was very helpful.
- Joaquim (10/5): - Very central - good
- Ben (8/5): - Room was great and the staff were pleasant, unfortunately the area surrounding it can be intimidating as it’s a rough looking area but I was never bothered
- Caroline (6/5): - I stayed here twice, once at the beginning of my stay and once at the end after 35 days traveling around Greece. It was the smallest room I stayed in. It did not have a fridge while every other room did.
The area seemed to be even more unsafe and unsavory a month later. While a great location as far as sights and neighborhoods, the few blocks around this hotel were scary.
- Caroline (6/5): - While the location was great as far as the metro and walking to sites and such, there are about two blocks you must walk through that look pretty unsafe especially at night. The front desk staff was friendly and always there. The walls were very thin- I could hear when anyone was coming or going, showering or flushing toilet, or even simply talking. It did not allow me to sleep well at all.
- mary (10/5): - Great value for money. Just a couple of blocks from Omonia Square ans the metro station. Air con and wifi was very good. Staff was friendly and helpful. There is a bank of computers on the floor above reception.
- SEBASTIAN SAVIO (8/5): - Near to metro to visit all attractions
- Nick (10/5): Great hotel near the heart of Athens - My father and I stayed at the hotel and we both enjoyed our time there. The hotel is a 2 minute walk from Omonoia Square making it a very central hotel with easy access to the metro system and plenty of shops and restaurants.
The staff at the hotel were super friendly. This included the staff who cleaned our room, the 3 male receptionists and the wonderful female receptionist.
Every day our towels were changed and the bins emptied. Every second day the beds were made and the room was swept and mopped. We couldn't have asked for a better service.
Furthermore, our every need was met with courtesy and politeness. We showed the same respect towards all members of staff. My father and I will definitely be staying at the Mansion hotel again when we return to Athens.
- Keith (6/5): Hardly a "mansion". A bit grim, not recommended. - It was like a prison cell, without even a table and chair, and it faced a dirty airshaft. The shower was the best feature, and the room was well lighted. The street outside was a scene from Desolation Row. Otherwise, staff was friendly.
- Joanna (8/5): We loved it! - Hotel itself has very modern interior. Is very clean with daily housekeeping service. Staff is helpful and very nice. The area where hotel is located is close to omonia station and that makes it easy to get around Athens. The streets around omonia are not as in great shape as omonia square itself. In general the location is great hotel is lovely and clean and staf is very nice and helpful.
- Nick (10/5): A great little centrally located hotel! - The staff at the mansion hotel were excellent and helped us with any questions we had and more! The hotel was centrally located and the rooms were clean every day including Christmas day! We will definitely be staying there again in the future!
- Adrianne (6/5): Wouldn't stay here again. - The staff was friendly but the neighborhood was scary. It is next to a brothel and the streets are filthy. I mean heaps of trash filthy. The hotel breakfast is in another hotel and to get there you have to walk through a drug park.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The Omonoia Square is very sketchy area, if you don't know where you're going, one wrong turn and you can find homeless people sleeping around the garbage dumpsters, it makes you feel very uncomfortable...
- Michelle (8/5): Not bad for the price. You get what you pay for - Great for the price, the front desk clerks spoke English. I think my only beef was the bathroom. It was so tiny, you couldn't open the door fully. The shower didn't have a showerhead so you had to hold the hose in one hand and wash with the other hand. The taxi driver did say the neighborhood wasn't the best. There is grafitti everywhere in the city so hard to tell what parts are good and bad.
- David (8/5): KHAIRETE - The hotel itself is fine, but the surrounding district is a bit dodgy after dark.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The hotel is okay for the price and the hotel staff do their upmost to welcome guests but it is located in a rough part of town and I do not recommend it to single women or families.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - property is full of drug dealers, prostitution all around the hotel, i didnt feel safe
- Verified traveler (4/5): Shady location - It's located in a very shady street. It's does not feel safe walking towards there after it gets dark. Would not stay here ever again.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Decent Stay with Some Issues - The staff were nice and the hotel is close enough to major areas that you can walk. The biggest downside is the room. The bed was not comfortable at all (you can feel the springs poking your body). Additionally, the cleanliness of the bedding was really lacking as I found someone else's hair and stains on the sheets multiple nights. Lastly, you can't control the heat in the room, so frequently the room was excessively hot.
- Siddartha (8/5): A trip to Athens - The hotel was ok for a budget stay with less than 200m from the metro station and around 1km from the heart of the city. But the neighborhood of the hotel is not no nice and people might find it unsafe while going there at night, although I arrived in the hotel late almost everyday but didn't had any issue.
