Guest Reviews
- M Elizabeth (8/5): Great location and character, but noisy. - Nice place with lots of local character in good location within the old city, right near Plaza San Diego which turned out to be our favorite plaza in the old city. Rooftop terrace was a bit disappointing as what was once probably a lovely view is now a rather tall (for the old city) building under construction. There is also some kind of school right nearby and on the one day we had to sleep in we were awakened by pop music blaring at 7:30 a.m. from some kind of school event. No idea how this level of street noise compares to other traditional accommodations in the old city. Note that the "spa tub" is not warm/hot water, it's the same temp as the pool. The daytime desk staff was alright, although the night manager was really not terribly helpful and difficult to communicate with. We speak Spanish well and in our travels throughout Colombia this was the one service person we dealt with whom we constantly challenged to understand and vice versa.. At one point he gave us incorrect info about when we could find a certain store open and sent us on a fool's errand. On the other hand, he did take care of getting our room air conditioner fixed when it broke down, albeit with a great deal of back and forth. Overall, the room was charming and it was reasonably priced relative to other options in the walled city, particularly for a triple.
- Adoramos nossa estadia no Old Town Premium San Diego.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Do yourself a favor and don't stay here - First, they didn't give me the room I booked, they gave us a similar one that was terrible. This room was next to the pool so since 6am the pool heater or pump would make a horrible noise for 5 minutes every 15 minutes, we were obviously unable to sleep since it started.
Second, we asked to get the room we booked and were told they have given it away and there was nothing they could do, no upgrade or anything. After an hour of my husband complaining that it was impossible for us to sleep like this all week, they agreed to cancel out booking only charging us the one night we stayed. Even though it wasn't the room we booked they still charged the full fee of that one night.
Third, the hotel looks much better in the pictures. It is tiny, a lot of noise in general, you can hear everything that happens there.
Staff is completely unhelpful they apparently have no say on what happens there and can do nothing to resolve any issues.
We moved to the Hyatt (much more expensive) and it was incredible. A couple of Colombian recommended Casa Curato and Casa de la Fe for our next trip (more accessible prices).
