Guest Reviews
- MARY ELIZABETH (10/5): - We really enjoyed our stay here.
Great location, the WiFi was great but most importantly our host was lovely! Thank you for being so hospitable and kind to us.
We appreciated that the guest house was traditional.
- Sarah (9/5): Je recommande! -
- Ed Cella (9/5): - Staff and up stairs porch sitting area. Nice people, good food real close.
- Mahabaleshwar (2/5): Grossly overpriced !!! - Grossly overpriced for the facilities. No proper lighting, either natural or electric lamp. Had to use mobile torch to see the key hole while opening the lock, both night and day. Except that the owner is nice, everything else is bad Everything except the owner's behavior
- Alexander (8/5): -
- Valentin (10/5): - L’emplacement
La gentillesse de l’hôte
Le petit déjeuner
Literie confortable RAS
- Tom (10/5): - Le propriétaire est adorable ! Vélo gratuit pour visiter les temples
- MEC (1/5): - Personnel sympathique. Tres sale
- Erick (9/5): -
- nicholas (10/5): - The host kindly let us check in early, almost 6 hours to be exact. There was a delicious thai food provided for breakfast. As well as a more basic toast/fruit and coffee breakfast for the early risers. We were also provided with free bicycles and were even offered to use them after we had checked out! It was also very close to the sukkothai park and was close to lots of restaurants, and 711. Would highly recommend based on the excellent service and close location to sukkothai historical park.
- Mickael (9/5): -
- Elena (10/5): - A nice historical home next to the park entrance. Clean and safe. Free bicycle to take to the park or explore the area
- Hendrik (9/5): Family athmosphere small guesthouse near historical park - Super friendly place in authentic wooden house.
- Patricia (8/5): Amazing location, perfect convenience. - Amazing location, just by the Sukhothai Thani bus stop which links Chiang Mai and Bangkok and 10 min walk from the historical park.
Very kind host, he provided a free bike for me to visit the park and made me fried eggs for breakfast. It's a traditional house and there are no real windows so little light. However, I would still stay here if I went again!
- Mike (8/5): Very good -
- Kevin (7/5): Good - Lovely owner, he was most helpful.
- Janos (10/5): Exceptional - Very good location, free bike rental, free café. Good restaurant, ATM in vicinity.
The owner is nice and helpful
Highly recommended place.
- Napalai (8/5): Very good -
- Gorka (10/5): Exceptional - Super friendly owner, and being able to use a bike to explore
- Ruby (8/5): Really nice place - Really nice owner and he provides some coffee/tea/fruit/toast which is so kind as this isn’t even included in the price/booking, good location near to the main park and night market
- Niklas (7/5): Great host and great location to national park - Amazing host! I did even receive free breakfast on arrival even if it wasn’t included in the first day of my booking. You get bikes for free and can also easily walk to the National Park (although I strongly recommend exploring it by bike). Facilities are basic but enough for one night.
- Hanna (9/5): Superb - The owner is incredibly helpful and friendly! I can highly recommend staying at this place The beds are quite hard
- Nongyi (2/5): Very poor - Our reservation was occupied,we have to move to a very bad place. the new host cannot understand Englsh,no way to communicat!
- Martin (10/5): Exceptional - Charming wooden guest house.
Very clean. Nice room and bathroom.
The owner was very kind and helpful.
Nice breakfast. Free bikes. Bus stop next door. Next to the historic park. Great place. Stayed two extra days. Super.
- Ran (9/5): Next to the park and bus station - Very close to the park. Plenty of eating options nearby. Clean and spacious room.Owner is very nice, providing free fruit and snacks, free bike and useful information. Rooms are not soundproof and you can hear neighbors talking, but everyone is friendly so it did not bother us.
- Joanna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Curtis (10/5): Exceptional - The kindness and generosity of the owner is excellent. Good location, very clean, nice old teak building.
- Curtis (10/5): Exceptional - The kindness and generostiy of the owner was wonderful. I loved the old-style building, the feel of the wood, the location is excellent. Yes, it is close to road and for some this might be a little noisy, but it did not bother us at all. Everything was fine!
- Alexey (10/5): Perfect - Style Nothing
- Caitlin (7/5): Amazing location! Comfy bed. Lovely owner. Just note the walls are thin haha. - Super close to the historical park. Free bike rental which is handy for going around the park. Nice comfy bedroom. Free breakfast bits downstairs. Lovely owner- very helpful booking a taxi to the airport. The walls are thin and our bed was right up against the neighbours wall with a bed next to it too. Had to be cautious with sound.
- Julaiwan (10/5): Exceptional - Location on lively road near the bus station, the market, convenient store, drugstore, tourist attractions, many restaurants. You can go anywhere around hotel by walking or cycling. The hotel is cozy, homey and clean. The hotel owner is so friendly and kind.
- Brittany (8/5): Very good -
- Emily (8/5): Very good -
- Danielle (10/5): Exceptional - The location is perfect for exploring. The host provides coffee and tea and a basic breakfast. Also having use of bikes was amazing.
- Jindrich (9/5): Superb - Good location - close to Sukhothai historical park , the bus stop to Chiang mai just 50m away . The facility is very simple , but clean . The host was great - he offered us breakfast for free ( toast , marmelade , bananas , some local sweet snacks and tea and cofee ). He also borrowed us bikes for free- we definitely recommend to ride a bike to and in the park . Also , we recommend to visit Sukhothai night market - great food and you can sit down there to nice round tables and eat it - really nice . The hotel is just on the main street that is really noisy , unfortunately also during night- you could hear everything (especially if you stay in the room closest to the street), and you can hear noises not only from street , but also from other rooms - the wooden walls are really thin .
- Sarah (8/5): Very good - Great location, helpful staff, use of bike, food provided at breakfast Can hear neighbours very clearly
- Pannathorn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lorraine (8/5): Great location in the old town. - The location was excellent, 5 min walk to historical park. Across the road from a market and temple. The house is very beautiful but you can hear everything in the room next door. It has a nice small balcony for a great view of the sunset.
The owner was a lovely man, not much English though. The bed and pillows were really hard.
- Weng (9/5): Stay like a local - The location is excellent, just 30 seconds away from Wintour bus stop, one-minute walk to supermarket and wet market, five-minute walk to the night market and the temple where you can see the monks starting their daily alms every morning and, most importantly, very close to the Park. This traditional Thai house is neither fancy nor luxury and the facility is basic, but it is very clean and spacious, giving a comfortable and laid-back vibe. It seems there is not much to offer, yet the owner tries his best to keep your stay pleasant. Despite language barrier, you can feel his hospitality and passion. He offers free bike (a bit old yet work well), simple but generous complimentary breakfast where you can try different fruits and local snacks every day. I like the drinking water that he provides in glass bottles with ring pulls, so enviroment friendly. The hostel is located on the main road and the traffic keeps it noisy even in the midnight.
- Faiyaz (10/5): - Very close to Sukhothai historical park, nice people, delicious breakfast. I enjoyed it very much
- Clare (7/5): Good location. Near to Historical Park -
- Edward (10/5): Simply great - Amazing, cozy guest house very close to the wonderful historical park. Free bike to borrow during my stay. Warm and welcoming host. I couldn't ask for more!
- Chew (10/5): Exceptional -
- W (8/5): - Very kindness / good location/ free bike / best breakfast / medium comfortable
- Paul (10/5): A great host whose English was limited but still went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable - It was a very comfortable guest house
- Chris (10/5): Exceptional - Clean and comfortable for a good price.
- Hendrik (9/5): Superb - Beautiful wooden building, in walking distance from the historical park, with very friendly owners.
The rooms are comfy, and the cafe downstairs is a nice extra.
- Mikayla (10/5): Exceptional - The owner was lovely and so helpful, there was free bikes to use, and he gave us lots of little treats and Thai specialties, along with free coffee/tea and toast in the mornings.
- Mario (10/5): The owner is an absolutely lovely person. Best place in town. - Best host I have ever had. He let us use his bikes for free and prepared us breakfast every morning for free too (when it was not included in our fare). We had an early check-out to get an early bus and there were no taxis available, so he drove us to the bus station in his own, personal car. Absolutely delighted by this person, I wish everyone in the world was like him. Thank you so much for everything! Nothing, it was all perfect!
- Vojtěch (9/5): Enjoy the Thai spirit - The house itself has a very nice spirit. Made all of wood, with wooden decorations. I could use the room even before check-in because of my early arrival and we were provided refreshing breakfast every morning. Refreshment as coffee, tea, toast and Thai snacks were provided. The owner readily helped with any issue. The bed was very comfortable and A/C working properly. The historical city is just 5 mins away by walk and bikes were at disposal. Night market, 7/11, pharmacy and wat just across the street. The hotel is situated on the main street, so expect that the front room might by disturbed by usual thai traffic and amusement. As the house is built in old traditional way the walls might be thin and neighbors might be heard.
- Sahara (10/5): Amazing, cozy and traditional - Amazing man who runs the place, delicious breakfasts (different both days we stayed). Aircon, power outlets at the bed, mini fridge, clean room and bathroom. Right on the main road of old city and a 5 minute walk from The Historical Park. Nothing at all, it was lovely!! :)
- Iker (10/5): Exceptional - The man of the hotel is very nice.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Small, lots of character, and great service!
- Ruk (6/5): Pleasant - The friendly owner and great location very near the historical park The stair up to the rooms is very difficult to walk.
- Enrico (9/5): Sukhothai the best place to be - L’accoglienza
- Michal (10/5): The guesthouse with soul, the owner with big heart - The nicest surprice during the journey. The guesthouse has authenthic soul, it is old teak wood house with internal terrace. The room has everything we neede - aircon, fridges, bathroom witj cosmetics, some brochures about Sukhothai, even the balcony. The locasion is prerfect - close to the Historical Park and to restaurants or food stalls. Even the breakfast was officially not included we received plates of fruts and could take bananas, tosts, coffee and tea. Also we had bicycles for a day for free. The host was so good person that before our leaving (for a night bus) gave us the key to the room for taking a shower! We were really touched... We wish him all the best and we recommend warmly this place!
- Jassiara (10/5): It was great. - The owner is so kind and welcoming it makes the stay perfect and worth it. He made all efforts to make us comfortable, made breakfast with fresh fruit and offered us his bikes for free. Such an amazing person.
- Kotique (7/5): Good - Close to historical park. Nice looking teak wood building with a lot of authentic stuff inside. Room is pretty basic with window to the inner gallery. Noisy. AC blows to the bed.
- Benson1 (3/5): Suitable for younger people - The history cafe was well located at the end of the busy street, however, the steep steps and lack of hot water in the sink and poorly organised bathroom, made it impossible for us to stay there. The owner could not speak English but was very lovely and tried to make the stay as pleasant as he could. The steep steps and poor bathroom facilities made it difficult for us. It would suit younger people. There was a smoking area just outside our room and the smoke crept into the room. The very busy street made it difficult to sleep with the traffic noise. The air conditioning mount did not have safety covering and tall people could do themselves a serious injury.
- Gerald (10/5): Exceptional - Owner was really friendly and helpful. Organized two bikes with children seats in the back for free. The guesthouse offers a balcony with nice wooden chairs and table which is ideal for breakfast. The kids liked it very much. The interior of the rooms is older but very traditional so it perfectly fits to the rest of old sukhothai. There are a lot of restaurants, a market and several supermarkets within a maximum of 2 minutes walking distance.
- Darran (9/5): Superb - The location is perfect to travel to the various districts of Sukhothai, and the owner could not be more helpful. He even arranged for our taxi to the bus station when ours fell through. The bikes provided were not in the best of shape, but made for a funny experience. Others may prefer to hire a bike in better condition which are easily found further up the road.
- Calum (10/5): Exceptional - Most accommodating owners, they were so lovely and kind. Even made us both mango and sticky rice for breakfast. They also offered breakfast to our friend who wasn’t staying but popped in before we left. Also was really helpful when we couldn’t get a grab and needed to find an alternate route to the taxi station. Excellent stay :)
- Debby (10/5): Exceptional - Very near to massage places, food stalls and the historical park.
- Jiang (10/5): Exceptional - The owners are very friendly and welcoming .
- Florian (9/5): Superb -
- Joanna (10/5): - The hotel is so close to the central temple complex, museum, cafes, market and shops that it’s easy to walk or borrow one of the bicycles to see a lot. The room was a great break from the heat with a comfortable bed and good wifi. The staff are very friendly and keep the place really clean.
I definitely recommend.
- Bikas (10/5): A great place to stay near Sukhothai Historical Park. - The owner was excellent..
We had 24 hrs tea & coffee and a nice breakfast..
- Fankun (10/5): A good place - A very good place. When we arrived at nearly 12:00 a.m.,the host let's check in and even provide free lunch for us. The location is beside the bus station and it’s only one minute's walk there. There is a big local market on the other side of the road in which we can by different foods there. The historical park is also very neer, and the guest house provide free bike. The free break fast is very good.We would like to live here when we come to this place again. Nothing
- Stephen (9/5): Superb -
- Rizzlwizzl (9/5): Superb -
- Rev (10/5): The owner is a very kind and friendly gentleman. Humanity is much higher than money. Without guile. I would recommend st - All are woods
- Isobel (7/5): Nice for a night or two. - Staff were nice and the location was great for the historical park. Room was decent too The shower was abit cold and the whole place seemed abit dusty.
- Mandy (7/5): Good - Lovely old wooden house close to the historial park. Plenty of eateries and food stalls nearby. Owner very kind and helpful. However, as we had the double room at the front it was quite noisy.
- Victoria (8/5): Authentic hotel with the best location and very kind owner - Best location you can wish for, walking distance to all the temples. Very kind and helpful owner, even walked us to the bus station and helped with translation. Large, tasty portion of local hot breakfast. Rooms are all made from wood like on the pictures, nice historic atmosphere. Room needed soms extra cleaning of lesser used areas (fridge, dust, spider webs); bathroom, floor and beds were clean. As can be expected from wooden floors and walls you can hear some noise from neighbors but this didn't disturb us. Matrasses are hard but that was almost everywhere in Thailand.
- Richard (10/5): Wooden House treat - The location was ideally set at the Eastern edge of Old Sukhothai. The view from the front balcony on an evening during sunset was spectacular. The room was extremely clean and the bedding was fresh. The Owners could not be more accommodating. So friendly, warm and attentive. The breakfast was excellent and set me up for the rest of my day.
- Alena (10/5): Exceptional - Unparalleled hospitality, cozy rooms, and a great location right next to the Sukhothai Wintour bus stop and close to the Sukhothai Historical Park. I recommend getting breakfast as well since there are hardly any good food options around.
- Tze (7/5): Good - -Owner was very friendly and helpful
-Fantastic location - hotel is very close to Sukhothai Historical Park - <5 min bike ride away -Bathroom was not well ventilated
-Bed was very hard
-Not sound-proof at all - can hear sounds from outside and adjacent room
- Florian (7/5): Good - Good location next to the historical park.
The owner is absolutely helpful despite limited English.
Breakfast is Ok. On the last day the owner surprised with a cooked Mango Sticky rice which was really pleasant Rooms are dark and floors are quite creaky. Walls aren’t really thick either so you hear what’s going next door. Also since the hostel bears the name “café” , you would assume they d at least offer coffee from a machine even though it meant you had to pay extra.
- Evilum (10/5): Exceptional - It's a very atmospheric place with real traditional Thai house feeling, very close to Historical Park. The owner is super kind, super friendly person Nothing
- Cj12345 (10/5): Exceptional - The room was clean and the bed was amazing. The service was excellent, couldn't be happier. Prasom served delicious breakfast in the mornings. After I left Prasom even helped me recover something valuable to me.
- Levi (6/5): Perfect location for a history buff! - The guesthouse was perfectly placed, with restaurants nearby, a 7/11 across the road and the Historical Park a five minute cycle away! The host was so lovely, helping us arrange further transport and sorting the bikes for us! The breakfast was tasty too, with coffee and traditional desserts. The bed was quite uncomfortable, it was very solid and felt more like sleeping on a table than a mattress. It was also quite noisy from the main road very early in the morning.
- John (9/5): Superb -
- Christian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Adeomy (10/5): Exceptional - Very kind and helpful host
- Chan (10/5): Good - The boss friendly and helpful.
- Michael (10/5): We had a great stay at The History Guesthouse during our short stay in Sukhothai. The bed are comfortable, sheets towels - The place is super well located and extremely clean!
