Our shower backed up so quickly; I was only able to stand under the water for 60 seconds before the entire floor of the bathroom was flooded. We should have known noise at night was going to be an issue as there were ear plugs next to the bed. The room was also very stuffy and hot (even though it was not hot outside). Even opening the very tiny windows did nothing to help. Definitely would not recommend this property.

• Jeeliung (6/5): - The property is good overall in terms of cleanliness and location except that shower has no door and caused bathroom floor so wet. Its vanity sink is small and the drain was kind of clogged.

• Kristijan (10/5): - K16 Apartments is located in the Akureyri city centre, at less than 5 minutes walking distance fron numerous restaurants and bars, and only another couple of minutes more from the harbour. As such, it is in great location for exploring Akureyri. Access by car is very convenient, just off one of the main roads. Checkin process was smooth, using a key code we had been emailed earlier. The room was located on the ground floor, facing the street. It was (sort of) open-plan, with bedroom and living room connected by a wall on which hangs a smart TV. The room was bright and airy, with windows alongside 2 walls of the property. The kitchenette was well equipped for a short family stay. During our stay we also used the laundry room, which is equipped with an industrial washer and a separate dryer. As for the downsides, as it is right by a main road, it can get a bit noisy at times. It appears the owners are also aware of it as we found earplugs in the flat, which we thought was a nice touch. This said, none of us needed them and we were able to sleep well. There are several parking spots that belong to this property, but it can get busy at times. There's also a public car park just across the road, although we didn’t need to use it. The closest grocery store is at about 15 minutes walking distance. Overall, we found K16 Apartments a convenient location for exploring Akureyri and the North of Iceland and would gladly stay there again.

• Bing (8/5): - Stayed here for one night in July 2025 in a two bedroom suite. Everything is great. Grocery and the famous pizza place right across the street. We used the kitchen to cook some simple breakfast. Also used the washer and dryer in the unit. Note that it’s a washer-and-dryer combo machine. The dryer takes over two hours to dry one load.

• Verified traveler (10/5): - We absolutely loved these apartments! Wonderful location, very clean and spacious! They were SO close to everything! Very comfortable bed and pillows! The only downsides were a lack of salt/pepper (most other places we’ve stayed had a few spices/seasonings) and no shampoo/conditioner. I somehow left mine at the last stop and the store was closed so not having even little toiletries was a bit of a bummer and I had to wait till the next day when the store opened.

• Clifford (10/5): Excellent Self Serve Hotel with Laundry! - This place has an ideal location with access to the main areas of the city. I wish I spent more time here as it was very convenient and a great place to visit. The apartment entry was very easy with the email provided, and I appreciated the ease of use. This is probably the best spot for laundry that we encountered in our entire trip to iceland, as there was no charge, and to my surprise even tide pods left out for use. Incredibly useful stop for a long road trip. You are near the city center, so you will hear people outside depending on room. I didn't mind it much. Highly recommend.
• David (10/5): Does everything well. - K16 really grew on me. Large room, very clean and they gave us a corner room with an excellent view down the hill. Initial impression was that it was a little 'sterile' - no art work on the wall, etc. But, the location was great - a short walk form downtown and we appreciated having room to spread out. Parking was super easy as well. The big feature was that there was free clothes washing and drying available. This was the midway of our trip, so I was able to do all of our laundry. Very professionally run. If I am ever fortunate to visit again, I'll definitely stay here again.

All the facilities you'd expect in an apartment, nice and clean and no hassles at all. Would happily stay there again.

Plus all what is need for cooking. Ample space to put luggage, hang clothes and countertop room. Laundry room with provided detergent pods included. A very short walk from the city center and right next to the art museum. Great experience!

That aside, the apartments are clean, well appointed, comfortable, centrally located with ample free parking and in a very safe area. There is free laundry service & the owners are very responsive to guests. I highly recommend K16 Apartments!

The room was big, it had a kitchenette, TV that had Netflix, couch, nice bathroom, laundry unit (outside the room) and it was in the center of Akureyri. Restaurants and bars were a stones throw away. If I come back here I will definitely be staying at K16 again. They send you a code the day of, and it’s super easy; no hassle of checking in, etc. You just walk in and when it’s time, you walk out. Loved it.
