Guest Reviews

- Z7643EOmikem (10/5): Don't overlook this hotel, it is a gem. - Probably the best value for your dollar in New Orleans. The staff is helpful, the rooms are as nice as some priced a hundred dollars more. It isn't in the heart of the "party" district, however there is a quaint little food/beverage district a couple of blocks away- easy walk, even at night. It is near a medical center, so area is well lit. I travel for work and I generally stay here if available.
- Lori (7/5): The pillows were mushy and lumpy but everything else was good. -
- 390jodyo (10/5): Wonderful hotel, great staff, near Tulane. - Melanie and Kevin welcome you as family. I have never seen nicer, kinder people at a hotel. They greet you by name and ask how your day was. The hotel is clean, fresh coffee alway ready in the lobby. We were here visiting Tulane and will be back.

- swmhurst (10/5): Welcome us like family! - Marlene & Albert welcomed us with enthusiasm. Checked us in quickly and efficiently. Bags were in our room before we knew it. Always very helpful when we need suggestions for places to eat & ways to get around.
Rooms are spacious with wet bar, microwave & refrigerator. Bathroom has walk in shower. Also, free on site parking a real plus. Rates are reasonable as well.
Would always stay at Alder when in New Orleans.
- Carlos (7/5): - Location, staff, rate...good overall except the shower. The Shower, bathroom need attention...shower head and stall were dirty and need a deep cleaning, soap rack falling off, water leaks into the bathroom floor. Construction right in front of hotel
- Kristin (7/5): We had our dog with so staying on the 8th floor was a bit annoying. The elevator seemed old and smelled like smoke. The - the bed was comfortable, the room was a nice size and the lobby and outdoor patio were nice The location was a bit weird- by the hospital and in a residential area. The parking lot was across the street and there was road construction right in front of the hotel so getting in and out was a bit awkward.
- salustino (7/5): -
- Sabine (10/5): Free parking amazing staff and great rooms - Comfy rooms super friendly staff and good connections with the street car , safe parking The washing machines were a great feature but they do need a clean inside (rubber seal)
- Paige (10/5): Lovely hotel but we drove a lot. - It was very pretty and quiet Too far from the French Quarter but it was much less expensive than hotels in the quarter.
- lisaaP1582LK (10/5): Fun Mid Century Vibe! - I was skeptical at first because of the neighborhood. But the inside was great! Very mid century and the rooms were beautiful too. The staff was helpful. I had free parking across the street which is very hard to find in NOLA. I left my Kindle in my room and a staff person was so kind to find it and send it my way. I will definitely stay here again!
- melindam348 (10/5): Will be my uptown hotel of choice! - A lovely hotel in a great uptown location that won't break the bank and will offer a peaceful stay. Charming details all throughout the spaces. Staff so friendly it makes a challenging day better. Clean spaces everywhere, including the lobby and sitting areas, with coffee available day & night. Comfortable bed and the room has everything you might need, within reach, with drawers, cabinets, etc. Feels long a long-stay space. Highly recommend!
- Luttrell (2/5): Hoodwinked.. - Bamboozled... This Hotel is attached to the hospital. It feels like an extension of a hospital. The Beds Are Hard, the sheets were super scratchy, and the pillows we're not good. The patio was filthy with no furniture. We turned off our air conditioning because it was making the most terrible noise. But directly outside is a whole colony of free roaming chickens that have roughly three roosters that started crowing at 1:00 in the morning and didn't stop all night. The TV provides only basic cable so we weren't even able to watch a movie. Will definitely not book this place ever again
- Franks (8/5): - Distance to hospital.
- Gaurav (7/5): -
- Gretchen (10/5): -
- Dashania (10/5): -
- Tim (10/5): - Kevin the man at the door was super helpful and friendly
- Anna (10/5): I am very satisfied with my choice to stay at the Alder Hotel. The room is large and comfortable. The hotel is located a - Very comfortable room and friendly staff. Nothing, everything was good.
- tinyhuntress (10/5): A well-priced and comfortable NOLA stay - My conference was venued at Tulane University so the Alder was convenient -- a 20 minute walk. Freret Street, a few minutes walk from the hotel, has a number of restaurants and there's also a Rouse's for groceries. Humble Bagel has fabulous bagels --and they offer an Impossible patty as their vegan choice. Audubon Park, south of the university, is a serene and beautiful space, and I had a happy hour wandering among the ancient oaks, watching the ducks -- and being careful of the golfers!
I decided against staying in or near the French Quarter since Mardi Gras was about to start and I prefer a quiet environment. While the Alder is a newer hotel, it had all the amenities you could require -- including a snacks station.
The Alder is also well-located for accessing downtown -- I took the 57 to the French Quarter (20 minute ride). Once there I was able to walk just about everywhere. And it's definitely worth buying a Jazzy bus pass online.
The Alder Hotel staff were genuinely friendly, welcoming and helpful. It was lovely to have someone greet me in the morning as I left for the day and to welcome be back at the end. I was there for five days, and my room was always serviced thoroughly.
The room itself was large and comfortable with a safe (which I didn't use) coffee maker, microwave and fridge. The bed was extremely comfortable with a supportive mattress.
Value: Overall, I'd say this was well worth the $. I'd stay here again if I come back to NOLA.
- OnAir284376 (10/5): Excellent experience - Great hotel, great room. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Free safe parking right across the street. Handy location.
- Brandi (10/5): -
- Fossfamilyforays (10/5): Exceptional - Incredible experience. Dallas (front desk) and Kevin (security) were exceptionally friendly and helpful. 10/10 experience. Traveled with our young child and dog. Very clean and spacious. Utilized Zeus’s Place for drop in doggie daycare.

- Danielle (10/5): Loved the stay, location and hospitality. I would definitely come back and I highly recommend! - I was in town for Xavier's homecoming, so the proximity to the school and activities was ideal. Free parking and the free coffee/tea were a nice touch. N/A

- Mark (9/5): - Value was very good! Free parking !
- David (10/5): - Very clean and quiet. Comfortable room and very hospitable staff. Very safe.

- Brett (10/5): Excellent stay, great staff and the cleanest room I've seen in a very long time. - I travel extensively with my job. I stay in many name brand hotels but this is the nicest, cleanest one in a long time. The staff was excellent and helped with everything we needed. The security guard watching the parking lot was very reassuring. The room was large and had everything we needed. We had an excellent stay and very much recommend this hotel. Although I know it's all personal preference, the bed was a little hard.
- Bridget (5/5): -
- Midori (10/5): Perfect! - Everything was simple and nice. Plates, cereal bowls, cutlery were very nice. Quiet location. We enjoyed rooster's crowing in the neighborhood, too!
- TERRION (10/5): -
- Khaled (9/5): - Hotel cleaness
- courth988 (10/5): Always enjoy! - We have stayed at Alder Uptown many times. It is our hotel of choice when in NOLA. We are always welcomed with a smile from Marlene at the front desk and Albert at the front door. We always enjoy our stay.
- Andrew (10/5): -
- Tara (9/5): It was a lovely stay, the people of New Orleans are so nice! The room was cosy other than the shower. - Proximity to Audubon clinic and all the shops/ restaurants on ferret and magazine street. The shower leaked all over the bathroom
- Jameka (9/5): -
- Dominique (10/5): Comfortable and safe space - We love the location . The staff was nice . We also like the fact that we did not have to pay any parking fees. It was peaceful and I noticed security. That made us feel safe . The bed was comfortable ! The outlets were not working . I had to charge my devices in the kitchen space . I prefer using the night stands .
- Amy F. (10/5): Wonderful experience! -
- Eric And Tatiana (10/5): Sehr ruhige und bequeme Lage in Uptown. Wir waren im Hotel zum dritten Mal in diesem Herbst - Die Lage, das Personal, unser Zimmer mit wunderschönen Blick
- JoAnn (9/5): - Convenient and safe location, wonderful staff, comfortable rooms and beds, amenities NA
- Ravyn (10/5): -
- James R (9/5): -
- T9949OIkellyt (10/5): Always a pleasant experience - Front staff is always so pleasant and professional. Location is perfect for those with college students plus its location to everything on Freret is 2 blocks away.
- TopSecret (10/5): Great uptown hotel, perfectly placed between the Quarter and Tulane. - A wonderful hotel, perfectly placed two blocks from Freret Street and the Bus 57 route, with easy passage between the French Quarter, Central Business District and Tulane. Attentive staff, delightful mid-century décor, lovely spacious room and balcony. Very quiet, at least on the 9th floor in November, looking south.
- Angela Pahl (9/5): -
- Carlos (8/5): - Feedback
For the price, I would expect a breakfast at least
- SaintsFanGirl (8/5): Great Location and Friendly Staff - We had a nice stay at the Alder. The hotel is Uptown but a short drive to several parts of the city.
Some of the standouts; free parking across the street that is well lit, friendly and welcoming staff, great location that is near several restaurants that are a short walk away. The rooms are spacious with a fridge, microwave and small sink/kitchen area.
Only a couple of drawbacks (it would be great if they had a breakfast offering, water pressure was way to low for my taste) but these wouldn’t discourage me from staying at this hotel on a future stay to NOLA.
- Kenneth (10/5): - This our 4th stay at the Adler and it was as pleasant as always. Very friendly and professional staff especially MARLENE ( at the desk)and the security.
- jaimee (10/5): We had a great stay. We will be booking here again - Comfortable beds, dark room and great location Slow elevator - only one seemed to be working
- MeccaTravels (10/5): Best Return Experience Ever! - Nothing makes me happier than returning to a place where you had an Amazing experience before, and find your favorite front desk person had been "PROMOTED" Congratulations Again to Ms. Marlene for her promotion, so we'll deserved! Her smile is so warm and welcoming and her interactions with her co- workers and other guest was noticed and so genuine! I also truly appreciated Mr. Alvin, Carolyn and Brody for their continued kindness, professionalism and attentiveness during my stay. This place is a gem that I pray I get to visit again soon! Location perfect, my room was perfect and my stay was an again unforgettable! Thank ya'll!!!
- Ingrid (10/5): - Very friendly staff and clean facility Shower water leaks out of shower beneath shower door.
- Marcus (8/5): Alles in Allem sehr zu empfehlen - Sehr gutes Hotel mit außergewöhnlich freundlichem Personal. Etwas außerhalb gelegen, aber mit dem Bus ist das French Quarter schnell erreichbar.
- Donteller (10/5): -
- vjc225 (10/5): We love the Alder !!! ♥️ - We love the Alder Hotel. I come here every time I come to New Orleans. They treat us great the rooms are perfect. I love the location. You can walk to Rouses Mojo’s for Street which has tons of restaurants and young people and feels like a college art place and you can still get to the quarter if you want to, but I’m mostly love Audubon Park so thank you Alder for always being there for us.!!
- Kimberly (8/5): -
- Caroline (8/5): -
- Kayla (8/5): I will be staying again on my next trip to NO - Safe neighborhood. Convenient to where I needed to go. Not far from the smoothie king center. I always stay here when I stay overnight in New Orleans. Parking is free across the street. Daily light housekeeping (clean towels, empty trash and makes up bed) N/A
- Kenyatta (7/5): - Air works great bed comfy Housekeeping taking loud in morning
- Emily (8/5): -
- Eric And Tatiana (10/5): - Quiet and cosy
- Melissa (10/5): Excellent hotel - This is the second time staying at Alder. Excellent location, the best parking in the city! Very friendly staff! Clean and comfortable rooms! Nothing was wrong. Perfect
- John (10/5): -
- Philip (8/5): Albert was amazing and should be promoted - The staff was excellent, Albert was phenomenal. I cannot remember the woman behind the desk that worked during the days name, but she was also phenomenal. I asked if we could arrive early. They said we could drop off our luggage, when we got to the property our room was already ready. We will stay again. The bathroom lock didn’t work.
- Peyton (7/5): -
- davidpJ6362LZ (10/5): Great rooms easy access to everything. - The room was excellent and maintained to high standard. All the staff we met were polit, helpful and informative. Access to everything is a $15 uber away. We had previously stayed in the French Quarter and paid accordingly for it but any return to New Orleans would be booked at the Alder.
- Raymond B (6/5): - Not a good area but walkable to St Charles
- Jeffrey (9/5): - No restaurant
- Shanieka (10/5): - Rooms are very spacious. Very, and I stress, VERY friendly staff! Overall 10 of 10!
- Alexander (8/5): - All in all, it is a good hotel. I liked that they had a kitchenette.
- Castille (8/5): -
- Priya1983 (9/5): - Love the spacious room and the staff was incredible
- Octavia (10/5): Look no further!!! This is it HANDS DOWN!! - We were pleasantly impressed with the courteous, attentive and informative staff. The grounds were safely monitored by onsite professional security 24 hours a day. We always seen them inside, the exterior and throughout the park lot. The themed hotel was a taste of sheik, luxury and fine sprinkle of antiques. The housekeeping was precise, respectful and fast! We never ran out of towels or clean sheets! We had real plates, silverware and glasses in our King suite. The bed was comfortable. There was plenty of drawers and closet space. The neighborhood looked a little sketchy, but it was just the look of the homes, as folks were outside walking dogs and going for jogs daily. A perk was that the train into town was close and parking was FREE!!! We drove so it was a plus.
If we ever return to New Orleans. This is HANDS DOWN where we will stay!! The balcony was very small, with only space to stand side by side.

- Jan Lynn (10/5): - First time traveling alone and felt very safe. Staff was friendly and helpful. Very pleased with security guard at front door. Clean room. Perfect location next to Ochsner Baptist Hospital.
- Jasmine (10/5): - Jermaine at the front desk was excellent. This is a fantastic property!
- Kim (10/5): Safe & quiet with FREE parking - Free parking. Whole block was quite safe well lit at night. It’s next to a hospital (still very quiet) so there’s security patrolling the block at all hours
- Sylwia (10/5): -
- Sean (10/5): - Albert the doorman was awesome. Great guy and I hope he is there on my next stay.
- pandora (10/5): Awesome stay from the time I checked into time I checked out amazing staff. Great room comfortable - Breakfast n/a…but location was great♥️ N/a
- Tony (10/5): Very nice hotel and safe secure parking - Very nice Hotel Continental Breakfast would have been nice
- Elizabeth (9/5): Always a wonderful stay and the rooms are great! - Convenience of location No breakfast
- James (6/5): - It’s a safe location and the hotel is completely fine as long as you’re not looking for any special amenities. The area surrounding the hotel is not very pretty, but you can walk to some restaurants and bars. Close to Tulane it was convenient for moving my son into college, but wouldn’t stay here if it was just a vacation in New Orleans.
- Jesse (8/5): -
- Tim (9/5): - Location ,free parking and ease of coming and going.Staff really friendly Liked everything
- Timothy (10/5): - Very nice mid-level hotel. Room was clean and the inside of the property was nice. Staff was friendly and quick. Walking distance to the Freret area with coffee shops, breakfast/dinner options plus a Rouses Market.
- xanthippia (8/5): - Clean room. Accommodating hotel. Nice area
- Penelope (10/5): Friendly and full of surprises! - This hotel was such a pleasant surprise. It was close to Tulane, restaurants and other places we visited. It has its own huge complimentary parking lot - and if you’ve ever rented a car in NOLA before you know what a plus this is.
One day we had a few free hours and were able to enjoy the pool area- another plus! They have complimentary tea and coffee all day and that was a nice touch too.
The room itself was comfortable, crisp clean sheets and a kitchenette - which was a surprise! The shower head could use an upgrade - but everything else outweighs this!
The front office staff is so friendly we would definitely return!
- Adam (10/5): My stay at alser - Free parking was nice. The lady at the counter last night was very nice and helpful. Also, there were chickens across the road. Loved that. Everything was great but if I have to pick something I didn't like I would say the TV was a little small
- Kurt (10/5): - A fabulous value hotel in Uptown. Our room was clean, spacious and had a balcony with nice southern views all the way to the container cranes on the river. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. Great restaurants and bars along Ferret. Highly recommended.
- John (10/5): Very refreshing and enjoyable -
- Reco (10/5): WHO DAT HOME GAME - Loved it. We were right at the SUPERDOME.
- Mariah (10/5): -
