Guest Reviews
- Sean (8/5): Good values and good breakfast. - Good food in the restaurant. No parking.
- Guest (9/5): Lovely bar and food with friendly staff - Great food and friendly staff
- Tom (9/5): Good value in the heart of Tubbercurry. - There I was planning to fly out of Ireland West Knock airport on an early Sunday morning flight and just wasn’t feeling like getting up at half-past-very-early to do the long two-hour drive from home to get there. So, I started looking for a place to stay within punching distance or even a short drive to the airport. I wanted to stay away from the formulaic sterility and coldness of a chain hotel and stumbled upon this absolute jewel in county Sligo, a mere 15-minute drive from the airport. Cawley’s has a wonderful blend of old-style charm, class and relaxing vibes right in the heart of Tubbercurry. Despite first appearances, it delightfully stays away from any pretentious notions, and not only does it have favourable room rates but has a very honest and wonderfully welcoming bar and restaurant with very accommodating, natural and friendly staff. From the menu, this reviewer went for the striploin steak with all the trimmings washed down with a nice Chilean Chiraz, followed by the traditional sherry trifle and ice cream. From modest-sized weddings, to solo travellers just looking for a bed, hot shower, strong wifi and a good meal for the night, to the small dinner parties, Cawley’s is truly a chameleon of options establishment that accommodates the full spectrum of travellers, diners and event celebration needs. The very charming and conversational barman Matthew even accommodated my request for a Calimocho (simply red wine and coke) without as much as a flinch, oh and be sure to connect with Teresa, part of the Cawley family, at front of house. You won’t be disappointed with Cawley’s, now 60 years in business and still going strong.
- Guest (10/5): Excellent customer service showing the best of Irish hospitality. Super comfy beds. Highly recommend - The customer service was excellent and we got 5 star treatment. Staff went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. We were late coming to the accommodation in the evening time as there aas heavy rain and the chef stayed on to cook our dinners and the food was delicious. Nothing was too much trouble for them.
- Patrick (8/5): pleasant break in a long car journey from Scotland to Achill Island for a 100th birthday party - very friendly staff
food and drink very good
nicely situated for our travel itinerary
- Eric (9/5): Quaint location and friendly people. - Quaint town and a historic building. Beautiful gardens. It would be helpful to have a sheet on how to manage the shower. It took us 15 minutes.
- Wes (9/5): -
- Mary Ellen (7/5): - Good location and clean room, could use an update to the bathroom facilities but still good. As above.

- Martina (8/5): - Nice, comfortable stay. Rooms could do with update but not a major thing as was very clean and quiet. N/A, just a little observation,I don't really understand why they needed a card on file when I paid in cash on arrival.
- Nadine (7/5): Good - The food at the restaurant for dinner was excellent. T-bone steak was very well prepared, the wine served in a glass and not the little vinegar bottles. the bathroom facilities are old fashioned. The electric pump is very noisy to get the hot water. The room was very small for 2 people. The road is right below the window so we couldn't keep the window open at night because of the busy street.
- Shaun (10/5): Perfect food excellent service excellent staff excellent - All good Location

It is also a bit old fashioned. But extremely clean

- Abra (10/5): From the Welch's - Ms. Theresa went above and beyond to make our stay exceptional. If I could review higher then a 10/10 I would. She was helpful thru the check in process, advised us about local scenic ideas, and hosted us for supper where local singers entertained all night long. Her hospitality along with Matt the bartenders friendly and quick service makes this one of the sweetest places IN THE WOLRD! Absolutely nothing. Everything was great.
- Dany (8/5): We will be back!! - Just very welcoming, the breakfast had a wide choice... the Full Irish or Small Irish fry very good, great out site area, and bang in the middle of town ( parking in front or in limited private hotel parking) and a pleasant town called Tubbercurry The noise of the crows in the morning...but something the owners can not do much about lol
- Alan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Joseph (10/5): We relaxed and just enjoyed the whole stay. Will return - Old world charm. Relaxing and comfortable charm Television in the room had very sketchy reception and lack on choice.
- Erin (10/5): Lovely stay - Lovely owners, they had a wealth of information and suggestions for our exploring the area. They were kind and attentive. Definitely would stay here again. We could hear the neighboring room's nocturnal activities through the wall, which was blush-worthy. But thank goodness my kids were in another room, they did not hear anything 🫣.
- Margaret (8/5): Made feel like home - Staff excellent. Very welcoming and helpful eg re organising taxi

- Tracy (10/5): Amazing Family Hotel with the Best Staff - Teresa and Pierre (and family!) took care of us so so well. We were only due to stay one night, however due to Storm Eowyn we had to stay a second. Despite the lack of electricity, they fed us & offered tea & coffee. Jenny brought extra cosy blankets & constantly kept the fire going for us. Gave us torches, as many candles & hot water bottles we needed.
Beds were so comfy and warm, we slept so well. Beautiful hotel & amazing staff - would definitely recommend to anyone travelling to Sligo, we can't wait to come back!

- Debra (6/5): Lovely food and friendly helpful host. “Homely” rather than smart. - A handy place to stay. Food was lovely and so were the staff. Comfy beds. Facilities were a bit jaded, several things were broken or not working ( shower curtain fell down, radiator control loose, missing handles on furniture). These didn’t bother us too much as host quickly fixed the radiator for us.

- Margareta (10/5): Exceptional - We had a lovely stay over in Cawleys. Our bags were carried up to our room by a very nice young man. Even though there were two functions on, we did not hear any noise during our stay. The bed was very comfortable, and the young lady in the morning gave my husband a takeaway coffee, which was a lovely gesture. Nothing

- John (8/5): Staff very welcoming and helpful - Good breakfast.
Secure parking at rear of property for cycles
- Theresa (8/5): Wonderful experience with exceptional staff - All food was top quality just a tad over generous. The staff were truly incredible in every way, they constantly updated us on whether our meal would be delayed etc. exceptional is the single word I’d use for their communication. I just thought decor a little dated.
- Rhonda (7/5): Good - The restaurant was nice, staff friendly and professional Good for the price but old fashioned
- Vince (5/5): Passable - Lovely hotel, lovely people, food was adequate not great, staff couldn't have done more for us. We had very little sleep. Very noisy guests outside trying to get in the front door. We both woke in the early hours to a stranger in the room and would have liked a lock on the inside of the door. We did not sleep after that.
