Nicholas (9/5): Enjoyable stay - Happened to be here for the jazz festival, whole town was buzzing, Carmen invited us to her braai which we really enjoyed. Was a little small, but we knew that when booking, shower was weak due to water restrictions
Tiffany (9/5): Comfortable Stay in the Heart of Charming Prince Albert - This guest lodge is in an excellent location on the main street. It is easy to walk everywhere. The gardens are lovely with plenty of loungers to relax on. Carmen, the hostess, is very friendly and gives good suggestions. The room was a nice size with an outside stoep. I liked the extra comforts like tissues and face cloths, which very few establishments actually provide. Parking was available on the property grounds. Although the rooms are neat, clean and comfortable, the outside of the buildings look like they could do with a fresh coat of paint. The shower was a lovely big size, with nice hot water, but the drains were a bit blocked.

Tony (8/5): Comfortable accommodation close to the shops and hotel. - Close to the Parkrun. No real facilities in the room so needed to eat out every meal.
Jim (10/5): Fabulous first visit to Saxe Coburg and Prince Albert. Long lasting memories and we hope to return. - Our stay at Saxe Coburg Lodge was superb. Beautifully equipped chalets which were spotlessly clean. The garden with pool, trees and shrubs was private and made for easy relaxation. Carmen was so helpful providing us with information about Prince Albert before we arrived and continued with her help during our stay. Prince Albert is a beautiful village with some wonderful places to visit and enjoy. Our week passed so quickly but we all have lasting memories from our Saxe Coburg base and the hospital;ity and community spirit in Prince Albert. We hope to return. Nothing really. It is quite a long drive to return to Cape Town via the R62 but well worth the effort. Beautiful drive through Meiringspoort / Oudtshoorn / Ladismyth / Barrydale with options on the final route into Cape Town.
Janet (10/5): A superb tranquil, but luxury lodge in Prince Albert managed by Carmen - welcoming and helpful host. - Carmen has created a piece of Heaven in Prince Albert. Beautiful rooms set in a tranquil garden with welcome swimming pool. Only noise is the sound of all the birds in the trees.. The rooms all have a lovely stoop with table and chairs for eating your own breakfast or pre dinner drinks. Rooms tastefully decorated with all amenities. My room had a four poster bed!! Safe off street parking. Plenty of dining places within walking distance. Cannot think of anything.
rene (9/5): Iets moderner kan geen kwaad - groot en goed hemelbed, fijn dompelbad om even de hitte te verdrijven, geen last van verkeer hoewel accommodatie aan doorgaande weg ligt, fijn terras voor de kamer in de schaduw, horeca genoeg in de buurt (Hendry's voor koffie en croissants en brood)) meubilair kan wat praktischer en moderner, koelkastje is echt 'tje', kan nauwelijks iets in, jammer dat de hond een aantal keren op het grasveld poepje, ook toen we aan het ontbijt zaten.

Rich (8/5): Lovely Guest Accomodation - I booked 2 rooms , 1 had a super king bed , the other a king bed. Both rooms were very spacious and clean. Tyr small carafe of complimentary sherry was a nice touch . There was plenty of food choice in the immediate vicinity. Overall a nice peaceful stay and would certainly return. All was good.
Anonymous (10/5): - The Daxe Coburg lodge is in the very centre of town so conveniently situated for everything. The real joy is the people who run it, are very friendly, interesting, and welcoming. Beautifully fitter rooms, a serenic garden and swimming pool all add to the reasons I returned there for my visit to South Africa.

Malcolm (9/5): A really nice and relaxing place to stay in Prince Albert. - The location was excellent - right in the middle of Prince Albert. Nice big garden gave a very relaxed feel. The room was great with everything you need and comfortable beds. Shower was a good size with fluffy towels too. We loved the old world charm of Saxe-Coburg. Can't think of anything except there was a slight leak from the toilet cistern but no big deal at all. Just a slight waste of water.

Lex (10/5): We would love to live here ! - This is the kind of place where you think, I'd love to live here. The room is more like a cozy apartment, beautifully and tastefully decorated, with a comfortable bed and excellent bathroom facilities. Another reason to want to live here is the location. Prince Albert is such a charming village, and there are some great restaurants within walking distance. We will definitely be back.

Tony (8/5): A friendly cozy spot in the middle of town. - Situated on the main road opposite the hotel, this is a quaint place with several accommodation options, all placed in the garden behind the main house. The room is smallish, with a lovely veranda looking into the garden. Being a very cold time of the year I found the room a bit cold with an aircon that was not very effective and only a wall panel heater that we didn't try as they are also not great. Maybe a heater would help, but maybe they use solar power? However this did not diminish the enjoyment of our stay and I would be happy to return - just not in winter :) Note that this is not self catering so we ate at the Rude Chef restaurant next door which was a good option. The hostess Carmen was friendly and chatty. Nothing - just a heater please :)

Engela (9/5): We were so lucky to get a room after someone cancelled - and we got the cream of the crop! - It is located in the centre of town - within easy walking distance of all the attractions. The garden is spacious and well kept and the facilities are really splendid. We loved everything!

Anonymous (10/5): Lovely accommodation run by delightful people in the historic centre of town - The Saxe-Coburg is run by a delightful couple and their daughter who could not do more to make you feel welcome. Lovely personal touches in the room, great company with the other guests. It's located very conveniently in the middle of Prince Albert, very close to one of the best restaurants in town and right opposite the historic hotel. Very quiet accommodation in a group of bungalows around a swimming pool. I enjoyed it there so much that I stayed for a second night.

Home from home in charming surroundings. - The location was excellent, right in the centre of town within easy walking distance to various restaurants, bars and coffee shops. Also close to an excellent museum and a beautiful art gallery. The gardens were lovely and the swimming pool offered a welcome respite from the heat. The hosts were very pleasant, helpful and friendly but not intrusive. We could definitely have spent more time there and came across other guests who had returned many times over the years. We had a lovely stay and would not find fault with anything. We would gladly return.
