• Karin (9/5): Klasse Aufenthalt in Fort Augustus mit tollem Upgrade - Sehr gemütliche Atmosphäre sowie super Lage - zentral und doch ein bisschen abseits vom täglichen Touristeneinfall in Fort Augustus. Das Personal war freundlich, die Bar gut bestückt, die Zimmer sauber, das Frühstück gut und ausreichend. Wir konnten ein Dreibettzimmer zum Preis eines Zweibettzimmers buchen und hatten so mehr Privatsphäre.

• Vaclav (8/5): Very affordable stay with great privacy, but breakfast and parking could be better - Great value for money: The accommodation is very cheap, especially by Scottish standards. The rooms: Although the rooms are small, they are clean and comfortable. We had a room with a private bathroom. Peace and quiet: Excellent soundproofing – we didn't hear any noise from the neighboring rooms. Layout: The hostel is a large house with a good layout. The ground floor has a kitchen, a common room, a bar, and the reception. Disappointing breakfast: We paid extra for the buffet breakfast. The receptionist called it "continental," but many things were missing – there was no cheese or ham. It was basically just eggs, toast, yogurt, muesli, instant coffee, and tea. The bar: The bar has a nice atmosphere, but they don't serve draught beer, only expensive bottled options. Limited parking: The parking lot is very small and you might struggle to find a spot. We were forced to park about 100 meters away by the driveway.

Beds were comfy, roommates were all friendly, and the showers were hot and had good pressure. I appreciated that there were lots of little common areas for hostelers to hang out in. Easy to find and near the bus drop-off. Did not mind this, but was surprised to find that the co-ed room I was booked into was genuinely mixed-gender. All my roommates behaved like the adults we were and there were no problems, but it was a bit unexpected.

• Jane (10/5): - The hostel was clean tidy and well run. There was a bar and dinner available. We were able to secure our bikes in the shed. Beds were comfy and our ensuite bathroom had a powerful Mira shower. The reading light for my bunk bed wasn't working but there was a bedside light.

• C.N. (2/5): Nicht zu empfehlen - Das Personal war freundlich und hilfsbereit Es war schmutzig. Im Zimmer befand sich noch Unrat des Vorgängers. Ich habe mir zum Abendessen einen Nessi Burger bestellt. Die Pommes waren nicht durch und das untere Burgerbrötchen hatte verschimmelte Stellen. Das war alles andere als super. Frühstück war dementsprechend ok.

• SANJA (8/5): - Super lokacija, mir in tišina, veliko parkirišče. Soba je bila velika. Blizu centra mesta. V sobi manjkajo mogoče edino pripomočki za hitro pripravo kave, ampak je bilo osebje zelo ustrežljivo in nam je omogočilo, da si v zajtrkovalnici privoščimo zastonj kavo.

Comfortable communal seating area, a bar, excellent drying room, the breakfast and staff were amazing. It had a comfortable and clean bed, the shower facilities were great. It was perfectly placed for The Great Glen Way. I can’t fault this place and would definitely recommend! Nothing

• Ana (10/5): Hostal super acogedor - Por fuera no parece gran cosa pero en cuanto entras el hostal es muy acogedor. Está todo en madera, con sofás de cuero, amplias ventanas que dan al jardín, libros para ojear y su propio bar. También hacen desayunos y cenas, pero al ser temporada baja cuando estuvimos no existía la opción de cenas. Al haber poca ocupación, nos pusieron en una habitación mejor. Llegamos pronto pero puedes entrar y esperar a que aparezca el personal de recepción si quieres resguardarte. La habitación estaba calentita, y el baño también. El desayuno me pareció algo caro para lo que incluía. No había comida caliente, y la fruta que acompañaba al yogur era de lata. Esto es un poco aleatorio, pero creo que mejoraría mucho el espectro exterior si cambiaran el cartel con el nombre del hostal. El que está es antiquísimo y la tipografía que han usado lo asemeja a una guardería.

• Carsten (9/5): Schöne Unterkunft am südlichen Ende von Loch Ness mit kurzen Wegen zu vielen Sightseeing Orten - Sehr schön gelegene Unterkunft am Rande von Fort Augustus. Stadtmitte mit Gastronomie, Tankstelle etc. und Loch Ness (schöner Loch Ness Viewpoint) fußläufig erreichbar. Die Unterkunft liegt sehr ruhig und ist von viel grün und einem kleinen Teich umrandet. Parkplatz mit genug Stellplätzen direkt vor der Tür.

Die Küche ist recht klein, was ein Problem sein könnte, wenn mehr Menschen dort sind. Außerdem hat sie kein Fenster, weshalb es sehr unangenehm riecht, je nachdem wer was kocht.

• Christine (10/5): Welcome refuge on the Great Glen Way - What a wonderful little place! Morag’s Lodge was a welcome refuge after a long day on the Great Glen Way. The winter season self-check-in procedure was very efficient and worked perfectly. The hostel is also ideally situated for taking advantage of the various cafes, pubs, shops and other amenities available in Fort Augustus. I set off the next day well fed and well rested! I would definitely visit again.

• Jane (8/5): Great place to stay on our walking holiday, would stay again. - The room was basic but comfortable with a lovely hot shower. Breakfast was inexpensive but sufficient and quick. Location was good away from the busy town and staff were friendly.
• Fareed (3/5): Avoid this property if you can - Honestly, I did not like a whole lot about the property. If the service was good, then I would probably have given better reviews. Parking lot was full and I had to walk up the street to park my car. The sign at the parking lot said “no overnight parking.” However I was reassured by the front desk that I should be OK, which I was. But it still made me nervous to park there. And I walked up at least 3 to 4 times that evening, and move my car first thing in the morning. There was no hot water or the hot water would last maybe 2 to 3 minutes. When I bought it to the attention of the front desk, they asked me to wait 20 minutes because they only have one water heater and it’s for the entire facility. It was a nightmare experience. I have allergies, which get worse with hiking or staying outdoors for long period of time. They did not have a fan to provide. If I left the windows open my allergies get worse. When I close the windows, it gets hot and stuffy. Unfortunately, the medication does not help a lot when I am outdoors all day. Lastly, the front desk staff, were impolite and unable to understand my concerns. They kept making excuse excuses for why the parking lot was full, and why the water heater was not able to provide for all residents/hosts.

• Michelle (10/5): A great spot close to Loch Ness, with good value. - The room was spacious, the beds were comfortable, and the shower was good. We were able to leave the windows open to keep it cool in the room. Being able to buy the breakfast option in the morning was a really nice bonus. It was pretty basic, but a good way to fuel up for the day and a good value.
