- Jill (8/5): Pleasant surprise - Spent the night on a travel trip between Houghton and Marquette after driving 9 hours. Easy access right on the highway. Surprisingly quiet.very nice owners on the premises that are a phone call away—if you need to call to check in late, just let them know 24 hours in advance. It’s a classic 1960 MOTEL that was remodeled about 10 years ago. It’s attractive and my son thought it was pretty neat. Newish bathroom set up and clean room. No AC but there are 2 big fans.

We asked about the heat and the owners turned the entire boiler system on as a result of us being cold in the room. Great service and a kind gesture!!

- Richard (10/5): - The facilities are very clean, and the owner is extremely friendly. A bit of a jaunt by bike to the nearest convenience store, but that's to be expected in such a quiet place. Highly recommend a visit for some good conversation and quiet evening.
- Floyd (10/5): - This was a clean, cute little motel out in the middle of nowhere almost, which means nice and quite. The room was clean, beds comfy, and hot water was instant and plentiful. They even have a little breakfast nook with coffee and some simple breakfast items. The staff was super friendly. The only negative I might have is the parking area is gravel and dirt, and when it's wet out, you track that into the room super easily and it's hard to get off your feet with the small mat. As a result the dirt gets all over the floor, and when you go to bed your bare feet pick up that dirt and you have to be really careful about wiping it off your feet otherwise you end up with gravel/dirt in your bed. Otherwise, if you need a simple, comfortable, clean room at a good price, you can't get much better.

- Pamela (10/5): Great sleeping spot for snowmobiling! - Hotel is just as described! Simple "mom and pop" place, just what we wanted for a snowmobile trip. Super nice sisters - Sara and Mary - at the front desk. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate and an assortment of juices, oatmeal and an assortment of packaged snacks for breakfast. Big jar of candy (take the Snickers bars for protein!) also! Bed was super comfortable, however, when either of us rolled over, the whole bed wiggled/shook, like their aren't individual coils. We parked sleds right in front of our room. Quiet at night. Bar/grill right next door, if you get in early. Such awesome snowmobile trails in this area!

- Mithilesh (10/5): - We wanted to stay in Marquette, but because of some off roading event and fall colors weekend, we couldn’t find any place to stay in Marquette. Thankfully, 25 miles outside this motel was available. It’s located near three lakes. They are walkable from there. motel is tidy and clean. You can park the car at the front door. Sara and her sister, they both are super friendly. They text and check if you are doing a late check in. Overall a good experience.
- Linda (8/5): - Room #12 The people are great. Park right in front of your door, super easy to load and unload. WiFi great! The fridge/freezer was real nice it was a mini 2 door. Only one thing bad the hair dryer didn’t get warm or hot. But how would they know that unless they checked it after every guest. I did let them know and I bet it was replaced before we left the driveway! No ice machine, they did have some in the office for drinks.

- Donna (10/5): - This is a totally refurbished single story motel. The owners did a fantastic job with the remodel. Its clean, neat, and the bed is very comfy! Coffee, muffins, juice and fruit cups for breakfast. There's a small restaurant/bar next door. The rooms are otfitted with a table and chairs, fridge, microwave and TV. Internet is available as well. Two sisters, Sara, Mary, and family have worked hard to provide a homey, clean atmosphere!

The door did not have a proper lock, which was a little unsettling. Overall the room was nice and a good value for the price.
- Joseph (8/5): the consummate motor inn experience - The owners of this property are doing a good job making the property relevant. The owners are very nice, which makes the small motel experience so much better. However, to appreciate this place, you need to be prepared for a 1950's-style motor inn. As advertised, there is no A/C. This is probably not a problem ten months out of the year, but we visited in August, and even with two fans going (which made it very loud), the room was hot. Be sure you aren't expecting cool temperatures at night during July and August. The bathroom is also very small. Be prepared for that. The continental breakfast was what you would expect for this type of motel - mostly prepackaged breakfast items. The room furnishings were in keeping with the motel atmosphere - not as comfortable as you might expect, but consistent with the style of the motel. We had two sitting chairs that we not very comfortable, and a small table. The current owners renovated the motel when they acquired it, but to fix the above things would require an extensive, expensive renovation. The property is probably not worth that kind of investment. Overall, I would rate this as an average value. Hotels in Michigan seem to be overpriced for what they offer, and I feel this motel could do more for the price point they are operating at. The overall experience was somewhat disappointing for us. However, I want to emphasize that the owners are very nice and trying to do a good job with what they have to work with.

I’m so glad the weather was perfect because there is no air conditioning; if we’d stayed a day later than we did it would have been pretty uncomfortable with high temperatures and humidity.

The view located right behind the motel down a little trail is just gorgeous. The only downside is that it's located in the middle of nowhere essentially and you have to travel 5 miles in either direction to get food or supplies. The steakhouse that was about 18 miles away had absolutely delicious food though! But this also lends to the fact that it's very quiet there which is always a plus. My husband and I would recommend this motel to anyone looking for a peaceful stay in the woods!

- Debbie (8/5): - Property was clean and the gal waited up for us to check in. Everything was clean, and it had a microwave and refrigerator. You should be warned though that the bathroom is rather small, so if you are a larger size, you might want to consider that. What was really a bummer is that there was no air conditioning. She had a fan on, and opened a window but it was still an extremely stuffy in there. I guess it's fine to stand, but you just need to remember and if you're there on a hot day, I'll be prepared. Have a sleepless night.
- Beth Ann (10/5): - We were coming from Isle Royal and this was a good stop to stay because you get off the boat late afternoon and we live 8 hours from Copper Harbor. I called to let them know that boat had just gotten into Copper Harbor and would be there and ended up being later then expected but they stayed open for us to check in. The room was nicely deocorated, clean and everything we needed. Owner worked with me to change my reservation to fewer days and was very accomodating, not something that would happen at a chain hotel. The lobby has a really nice selection of breakfast items. would definatlly stay there again.

- Rebekah (10/5): Hot shower and breakfast - 3 lakes motel was nicely renovated. Clean hot shower with good water pressure lots of room lived the marble shelf I could put my shampoo conditioner razor etc. check in was easy. Room was clean and comfortable with refrigerator. Enjoyed having a continental breakfast hot oatmeal coffee tea, cinnamon rolls, muffins, juice etc.
- Richard (10/5): Nice place to stay! - The motel was refurbished and is in excellent condition! very clean! Great hot showers and nice, friendly hosts. Not only is the price (for the area) very good but there is a small breakfast offered too! We extended out stay just because the motel was such a nice place to stay during our trip to the Keweenaw peninsula. This is not a dumpy old roadside motel, it is clean, smells good and nicely updated. I would recomend it.

- bert (10/5): - It’s very clean, easy to get to, but it is located a long way from anything and the area is rather tacky.
- Matthew (6/5): - The staff was very friendly. The breakfast was not very good (all packaged foods). The tub was very small and there was not a lot of things for kids to do (no pool, etc.). The motel was not located convenient to many places to visit and there were very few restaurants to choose from.
