PammyP_ATL (6/5): Not all it was promised to be - I rely on TripAdvisor reviews for almost all of my travel planning but I truly struggle to leave negative reviews. Based on other reviews, the proximity to town and the reasonable price - my mom and I booked two rooms for two nights at the Towne Motel while visiting Camden. Our greeting at the front desk by one of the inn keepers was less than stellar, I was instantly put off but we checked in and decided to make the most of it. The next morning by mother had to call to ask for assistance with her heat as it was the first cold night of the year and was told the inn keeper was "making breakfast in her pajamas" and couldn't help - implying it was my mothers issue to deal with. Luckily, she was able to restart the heater and get it to work. My room was incredibly old and outdated with severely stained carpet - though my mother's room was pretty nice. Overall - Pros: Super close to town, ample parking and budget friendly. Cons: Staff not welcoming at all, outdated room, the free breakfast left a lot to be desired.
347meredithf (6/5): Not quite up to expectations set by website - Cons: -Rooms seemed clean but smelled terribly musty. -Firm check-in at 3 (not a surprise) and check-out at 10 (was a surprise) makes for a quick turnaround for vacationers. (10:00 checkout was because of off season.) -In spite of repeated assurances via email and over the phone that there would be someone to help get luggage upstairs, upon arrival we were told there was, actually, no help available. We'd chosen upstairs rooms because of advertised extra space and extra natural light but would have been fine with staying in cheaper first floor rooms if we'd known about the lack of assistance. Clear communication about that before arrival would have been great. Pros: -Free parking. -Convenient location. -Nice rooms if it hadn't been for the smell.

gernallen (10/5): Great stay - Our one-night stay at Towne Motel was a great experience. The hard-working owners were very friendly and helpful, giving us recommendations for our day in Camden. It was only a short walk into downtown, which saved us from trying to park there. The walking path is a bit narrow in places, so probably not handicapped friendly. Communications about the motel after booking, then just before our stay, were much appreciated. Our room was super clean and the motel grounds were immaculate. We loved having the modern touches combined with an old-fashioned motel feel. And the homemade breakfast offerings were all so delicious!

debsL3342BO (4/5): Musty - This motel is a short walk to the town of Camden, which is why I chose it. The accomodations, however, were poor. When opening the door to our room, we were hit with a musty smell. It was hard to get over, each time you came in and out of the room, it was strong. The air conditioner was situated in the sink area, making the sleeping area warm. Turning on the fan helped, however, it made noise all night long. The pillows were foam and very uncomfortable. It was fine for one night, I would not recommend for more than that. We did not go to the continental breakfast the next morning.
Rebecca (10/5): Lovely place - The rooms were clean, the breakfast was delicious, the hosts were courteous, thoughtful, and kind. The motel is about an eight minute walk to a small park with a cute Pebbly Beach, and the motel is just a short walk into town. The rooms I stayed in had a small refrigerator, coffee makings, and a hair dryer. I very much enjoyed staying there and would like to stay there again.

The rooms are very clean and charming. Easy parking, great breakfast and the staff are welcoming and accommodating. A great stay and reasonably priced.

wannamak (10/5): Fabulous location, lovely stay - The Towne Motel was such a great place to stay. You can tell the owners have put so much care and thought into renovating it. Our room was quite big and very comfortable. The breakfast was so much better than what you might expect for "continental"--there were two different kinds of homemade cakes, which were delicious, great coffee, and granola with yogurt. We went to Maine during Lobster Week, and I really appreciated the fact that this motel didn't price gouge--they could have easily raised the price but they didn't. For a lovely stay within very easy walking distance to downtown, this is the place to go.

brendaw152 (10/5): Wonderful - This is a lovely gem of a place. Our room looked exactly as they do in the pictures: spacious, clean, brightly decorated. Beds were very comfortable. The location is perfect--just walk a couple of blocks into the nice town of Camden. Several places to eat and adorable harbor. The homemade continental breakfast was delicious! We had yogurt with fruit, granola, carrot/fruit cake, and blueberry muffins. This is a very reasonably priced option for the area, and we were extremely pleased!

Betty (10/5): Convenient Camden Stay with great breakfast - Great for a one night stay in Camden on our way to Bar Harbor. Very close to the Camden State Park where you can go up to the top of Mount Battie. Short drive to a lot of the restaurants in the downtown area or there were a few within walking distance. We found an outstanding Mexican restaurant that was only a block away. I had fantastic food. Breakfast was prepared by the owners and served in their dining room where you got to mingle with the other guests. Homemade yogurt and baked goods were delicious.

Really tasty baked fresh goods each morning along with yogurt and fruit... The rooms were extremely clean, nicely decorated color schemes, easy parking right outside your door... And just a couple blocks to walk to be in the heart of the town... I highly recommend it, if you aren't a pretentious person this place is perfect!!

It was an economy- priced motel in an expensive, Maine seaside destination and during high season. Yet everything was just right. Squeaky clean, full of light, well decorated, very comfortable bed, good coffee machine and shower. Friendly and very accommodating innkeeper, Katja. I only wish I could have been around long enough to have tasted the homemade baked goods at continental breakfast. I would absolutely stay at this motel again.
AtlantaEdZ (10/5): Great place for visiting Camden area - This a great place to stay if you are visiting Camden and the vicinity. It is clean and comfortable and an easy walk to downtown Camden. They serve a continental breakfast that is excellent home made baking and yogurt.
ODCeus (10/5): Location, charm, comfort - great stay in Camden - It’s like a hybrid of a motel and a B&B. The rooms are like a motel. A door at the rear of the office opens into a house where breakfast is laid out and guests can sit and eat during breakfast hours. The room was very clean, fresh and comfortable. We had trouble using the tv to watch the streaming content we wanted, but that happens in other hotels too (maybe the problem is us). Great location! We strolled into the heart of town quickly and easily. We browsed shops, had drinks at a rooftop bar, and dinner at another restaurant. Then strolled easily back to the motel. Breakfast was great. I had yogurt with granola and a freshly baked muffin. Delicious.

Our 4-night stay at this well maintained and thoughtfully run motel—just an easy walk into the heart of charming Camden—was truly a highlight. The rooms and grounds were spotless, and the warm, genuine hospitality made us feel right at home. The homemade yogurt and granola were the best we’ve ever tasted—absolutely unforgettable! We wholeheartedly recommend this gem to anyone visiting the area.

sylviabX9380ZA (10/5): Perfect Stay at Towne Motel Motel - We love staying at Towne Motel in Camden. The location is perfect walk to shopping dining, great exercise up hills and sailing trips. Siobhan and Katya are perfect hosts as they have made an ole feel motel into a comfy BnB. The beds are so very comfy we sleep very well and way past our normal time. Delicious home made yogurt and breads, coffee and treats are served off the office. Siobhan suggested Hiking Mt Battie and Mt Megunticook and what fun!! It's worth it... Katya suggested McLoone's Lobster Shack and that was Jackpot!!! Don't forget to take a sail with schooner Olad and try to book the Lobster bake. We're already planning our next trip back!!

There is a free Breakfast offered each morning consisting of delicious coffee, homemade baked goods, plus yogurt and granola. I would stay here again!

Plenty of hot water for showers, with an updated HVAC system which was really nice. Didn't have the sound of old AC units running all night and keeping you up. Breakfast in the morning was great, everything home made by the owners, and they welcomed us into their part of the hotel to enjoy. Walk to town and waterfront was close with owners giving good suggestions.

And such proximity to Canden for a good walk. Which definitely beats parking and the traffic. Gracious and positive owners who care about your stay and their property. Not a chain hotel that makes you a number but a motel that makes you feel like a guest in their home. Highly recommend.

breathswetake (6/5): So So - Just a standard motel room at an elevated price, nothing exceptional. No gluten free options for the continental breakfast. So, it was yogurt and granola, that was homemade and good. They also served peanut butter bars which surprised me when so many people are very allergic to nuts. Some fresh fruit would have been nice.
C1512QNerice (10/5): A motel that is also a B&B and combines the best of both. - This is the perfect combination of a motel and a Bed and Breakfast. You have the advantage of parking right outside your door, and the privacy that a traditional Motel provides. Then, every morning the innkeepers invite the guest to have breakfast in their dining area in their home adjacent to the motel. Which they make fresh every morning. Delicious homemade coffee cakes or bread or muffins plus their own homemade yogurt with fresh fruit. Coffee, cereal, etc. During the slow season they will even put together a breakfast for you and hang it in a basket on your door for you to enjoy the next morning in your room. It doesn't get any better than that. And it's very clean and is probably the lowest cost inn in Camden-and is only a quarter-mile walk into town.
306joeo306 (10/5): Your Maine Destination - We used to call it our "home away from home" but now we just call it HOME. The Towne Motel is quiet, comfortable and the breakfasts are superb. It’s affordable, the rooms are very clean (high on my list of priorities) and the Innkeepers very friendly. Camden used to be a place we drove through to get somewhere else--now it's our destination. Why drive farther when you have the ocean, mountains and some of the most gorgeous views in New England right there? Between Rockport, Rockland and Camden (Rockport and Rockland are just south of Camden) there are great restaurants, museums, art galleries, consignment stores, thrift stores, libraries, cafés, concerts, festivals and theatre—not to mention great hiking and boating. And when you’re through doing all that, you can rest, relax and get a great night’s sleep to do it all over again the next day.
Daveeeed81 (10/5): Special touches all through our stay - We stay here at least once a year because we love it so much, but this year we decided to book multiple trips! We always stay in the same King room, so we chose a different room with a King, and we were so pleased. Each space seems to be decorated with special touches that make them unique, and everything is so neat and tidy. We always love joining the owners for breakfast downstairs in the morning - they have the best yogurt, homemade granola, and several special baked goods available.
sjjmt (10/5): Clean and Comfortable Stay - We had a great stay at the Towne Motel. We stayed in one of the motel rooms- apparently there are others within the house itself. The room was immaculate and the bed was comfortable which checks the box on my top two requirements in a hotel room. The owners were pleasant and helpful. The light breakfast they provide was perfect for our needs- typically a muffin or baked item and yogurt along with coffee and juice and they also asked about and accomodated dietary restrictions. Highly recommend.

The morning coffee and breakfast made our stay even easier. The location was the best. Just a short walk to town and the harbor. We would definitely stay here again. It’s great to be within walking distance of the harbor and all of the interesting places in town. A pleasant surprise was the lovely homemade breakfast, including Maine blueberry muffins, and the opportunity to meet other guests in a very cozy setting.

Ambassador732265 (10/5): A cozy home away - The Innkeepers, Katja and Siobhan, pay attention to detail and provide excellent service. We stayed in the winter during a storm and they were extremely communicative about parking and ensuring the lot was plowed. The room was very clean and spacious, the bedding and mattress were so comfortable, and it felt like a cozy home away from home for a week. We so looked toward to the nightly basket hanging on our doorknob with the following morning’s breakfast, which always included some combination of amazing home baked goodies! A definite stay again place!
conway813 (10/5): Like staying with family but better - Like staying with family but better. Our room was private, spotlessly clean, and very cozy. And in the morning, Katja and Siobhan, the hosts, would leave a generous basket of freshly baked goods, fruit and juices. Wonderful! This was a weekend getaway for us and we thoroughly enjoyed being right in town and walking distance to many shops and restaurants. There are also wonderful hikes within a few miles. We enjoyed Fernald’s Neck Preserve. Looking forward to returning as soon as we can.
Stephen (10/5): - Stayed for 4 days around the Christmas holiday. The room was excellent with plenty of room and a comfortable King size bed Staff was friendly and provided a good continental breakfast. The location was excellent being blocks away from downtown !

Room was comfortable and felt like home. Can’t say enough good things about it. Can’t wait to return! The breakfast basket at our door with homemade treats, fruit, yogurt and a handwritten note were over the top!

Clovergro (6/5): Pleasant stay, good location - This is a nice motel in a great location. Easy walking distance to the shops and restaurants in Camden. The room was large and airy, clean and mostly comfortable. The seats in the room were hard camping chairs so it would have been nice to have had somewhere comfortable to sit other than on the bed. Host was fine, housekeeper very friendly. Breakfast was nice but needed more variety and there was limited seating in breakfast area. But it was good for the price and the fantastic location sells it.
Margo (10/5): - Katja was so kind in accommodating our late arrival and even leaving our room lights on for us. Continental breakfast was divine with homemade baked goodies and granola with yogurt. All high quality and delicious. Excellent coffee too! Just sad we only stayed one night, as we would have loved to explore Camden more. Beautiful small town!
Raelene (10/5): - The hotel was easy to find and plenty of parking. The woman who was at the desk when I came in was very personal and made me, as a solo person, feel very safe and comfortable. The room was comfortable and large, the breakfast was great with homemade goodies!

ccburleson61 (8/5): Towne Motel - For the price point, the Town Motel is a good choice. The owners are very courteous and willing to make suggestions and recommendations when visiting Camden. Room 6 is on the small side, and it should be noted that this room has heating, but no air conditioning. Beds are comfortable and hotel is quiet and in close proximity to town. Breakfast was very tasty, but could use a little more variety. For our one night stay in Camden, we were pleased with The Towne Motel.
Teacher98 (10/5): Clean and close to town- - Had a nice room! It was within walking distance of downtown. Room was very clean and had everything we needed. The breakfast the next day was so good- Homemade bread, coffee cake with great coffee- Would recommend if you are looking for a budget friendly, clean and friendly motel while visiting a lovely town.
skylight46 (10/5): Wonderful Motel Close to Town - The owner who greeted us after 6:00 pm was more than willing to chat and offer advice about a few places in town. I either missed or forgot that they offer a continental breakfast as we booked several months ahead. She inquired about dietary restrictions which I thought was very thoughtful. One of the coffee choices was dark roast...thank you! Very reasonable priced, close to town, and clean! This was a short stay as the last leg of our trip, but we would love to return to Camden. We ate at Franny's, Long Grain, and Mosaic, and all 3 restaurants were excellent. Paper Plane for cocktails was lovely as well.

Cheryl (8/5): Camden stop - The Towne Motel in Camden was a pleasant stay. Quick check in, yummy fresh baked items at breakfast (glluten free options too) and close walk to restaurants and shops. The bed was harder than I prefer but slept ok anyway. Would recommend.

66anij (8/5): A hotel more like a BnB - We appreciated the large room in the original part of the hotel, and even though it faced the busy street, it was very quiet due to what appeared to be new windows. We loved the breakfast with freshly baked coffee cakes, homemade granola and yummy fruit yogurt. The king bed was comfortable, although on the firm side. The location was perfect for us as it was not to far from the bus stop going back to Portland, but the staff was kind enough to give us a much appreciated lift at 8 am. We would definitely stay there again.
