O apartamento tem o básico, nunca comemos em casa. Muitos restaurantes na envolvência o apartamento tem condições, poderia estar mais cuidado. À noite as baratinhas apareciam. Falharam no transfere.

• Dana (8/5): - Apartment No. 29 on the first floor, balcony with side view of the ocean. Kitchenette with basic equipment, stove, drip coffee maker. The advantage is the washing machine. The bed is large and good for sleeping. Bathroom okay. Air conditioning ok. Good WiFi. The complex offers a swimming pool and free sun loungers, a beautiful garden. The property is guarded. There are stones in the ocean right next to the property, we went to the beach to the former pier, it was great. In the early evening, drums on the beach. A short distance from the main street, near restaurants, bakery, shops. We requested the key code before arrival. Cash payment was made the next day. On Saturday evening, noise until 2 am, other days until about midnight. The freezer was full of ice upon arrival, we had to remove it so we could make ice for drinks. We had to buy toilet paper. The TV didn't work, the owner promised new batteries for the remote control, but we didn't get them. Not even a basic cleaning for a week. We asked about a hairdryer in advance, the owner said it wasn't included. Upon arrival, the hairdryer was there, we didn't need to bring it (every place in a backpack is good).
• Lara (10/5): Excelente - A localização é ótima. Fica mesmo em frente à praia, é meia dúzia de passos. Do outro lado damos uns passos e estamos na avenida principal. Somos um casal e o espaço chegou perfeitamente. Tem cozinha com placa para cozinhar, tostadeira, máquina da roupa. O check in só deu a partir das 15h mas deixámos as malas na receção com o segurança e não houve qualquer problema. O alojamento está inserido num complexo de apartamentos e tem seguranças. A piscina ótima. Restaurantes perto. Não esperava que fosse ser tão bom! Sentimos falta de papel/guardanapos na cozinha e de um pano de cozinha para limpar a bancada.

Owner doesn’t respond. Left apartment rented else where with the help of other guest and staff. no response or refund from owner. No assistance from booking.com or bedroomvilla.com worst experience ever. Booking.com should be ashamed of hosting this place. Stay away from Unit 31 in Porto Antigo 2. They may change their title but it’s still infested in Unit 31. I’m a world traveler and it’s the worst experience ever. SMH
• Marcel (8/5): Beach front and good swimming pool - Great location right at the beach front, beautiful and quiet swimming pool area, good matress and nice terrace facing the main street, good communication with property manager (tho a bit slow sometimes). I forgot the keys once and got stucked outside the apartment, they came after only one hour to open the door for me Kitchenware and cabinets were a bit dirty, dead mosquitos and shoe prints left on the walls. Everything else was clean and correct, but in general cleaness could be improved

• Dana (10/5): - Apartmán je na krásnom mieste, 2 min. od centra, 2 min. od pláže a bazéna s lehátkami. Čistý a vybavený všetkým potrebným, fén, žehlička, kuchynské potreby, sušič na vlasy, pohodlné kreslá na balkóne. Veľmi pohodlná posteľ s výhľadom na oceán. Prišli sme ranným letom a aj tak nám rýchlo upratali izbu a namiesto o 15 hod, sme sa mohli ubytovať už o 11 hod. Security strážia celý objekt, sú nápomocní keď potrebujete pomoc. Reštaurácie, bary, pouliční umelci sú doslova za rohom.

La noia ha estat atenta i ha sigut molt comprensible. L'habitació feia molta olor a tabac, i hi havia termites al sostre de sobre el llit. No obstant, la noia ens ha ofert sol•lucions.

There was no water during two days and the management didn’t provide for water in the reservoir like the other hotels nearby. Not enough towels for the residents. No soap ou toilet paper. La piscine de la résidence est propre et grande. Il y avait des travaux au dessus (parfois jusqu'à 21h le soir) et nous n'avons pas été prévenus. On entend beaucoup les bruits de pas au dessus. Il manque quelques parasols à la piscine pour proposer plus d'ombre et certains utilisateurs partent plusieurs heures sans libérer leur chaiE longue. Le ventilateur dans la chambre ne fonctionnait pas.

L’accueil est froid et désagréable de me Simone comme si le simple fait d’arriver gênait la personne. Mais le pire reste l’hygiène : chambre sale, odeurs suspectes et, cerise sur le gâteau… une souris qui se promenait tranquillement ! De foto's kwamen niet overeen met de kamer. Badkamermeubel was los. Deur van douchecabine was niet aanwezig waardoor bij elke douchebeurt helemaal vol water liep. Geen warm water. Vergane glorie.

• Marisa Carvalho (8/5): Localização perfeita - Efetivamente o condomínio em que o apartamento está inserido é numa das melhores localizações de Santa Maria, com praia mas já dentro da cidade e com fácil acesso a tudo. O apartamento tem uma varanda incrível, com vista mar, a piscina é óptima e está sempre limpa, sendo que há espreguiçadeiras para toda a gente, a cozinha está perfeitamente equipada para cozinhar e tem serviço de Netflix, sendo que o sofá é confortável e a cama também. O apartamento é um apartamento de férias de praia bastante funcional. Tinha rede mosquiteira no quarto e na sala o que era óptimo! O anfitrião manda um guia antes de entrarmos com indicações de onde comprar comida e supermercados ou restaurantes onde comer e outras indicações sobre a ilha. É muito simpático. Por fim, a linda praia è junto ao apartamento , melhor não havia! Aliás algumas espreguiçadeiras do nosso condominio já estavam no areal. O quarto cheirava a humidade, dentro dos roupeiros. Era um cheiro estranho na própria madeira e durante a semana inteira não desapareceu mesmo nos deixando as janelas abertas. Não tinha canais de televisão, apenas streaming e se alguém não tiver conta não consegue ver televisão. O anfitrião não vive em Cabo Verde pelo que a comunicação tem que ser através de telemóvel e há coisas que não pode resolver embora tenha lá a senhora que faz as limpezas (a Lizie) que é uma simpatia. O condominio trata muito bem do local, estiveram sempre a pintar enquanto lá estivemos mas não gostamos que viessem pintar a nossa varanda connosco dentro do apartamento , desviaram o nosso estendal e a nossa mesa e nem nos perguntaram se podiam. Acabei por ter que lhes pedir para saírem pois queria tomar o pequeno almoço na varanda e isso não se fazia… visto estarmos a pagar. Pedi para esperarem que fôssemos para a praia e depois faziam o serviço e resolveu-se mas não gostei pois dois dias antes já tinha perido que não pintassem o nosso apartamento pois nós estávamos lá .

• Richard (10/5): Exceptional - Great villa perfectly located in Santa Maria with access to the beach, shops, restaurants and bars. The villa is very comfortable and well appointed with all the facilities you need for self catering. We particularly appreciated the inclusion of a washing machine as the local laundry costs can be quite expensive. The host was very flexible and went above and beyond helping with any help we needed. All in all, thoroughly recommended.

• Luisa (8/5): The best place to stay in Sal. - Porto Antigo 2 was a wonderful place to stay with kids. The location is the best in Santa Maria! The swimming pool is amazing and right in front, was the beautiful beach! Great place to stay In Sal. Unfortunately there were cockroaches in the room, but outside the room, the place was very nice and very clean.

• Julie (7/5): Great location, right on the beach - Superb location as right on the beach and a short stroll to the main road in Santa Maria that has all the shops and restaurants. The apartment complex is lovely, pool is fabulous with just enough sunbeds for everyone, feels very safe and friendly. Right on the doorstep is the beautiful beach. This was our second time to Porto Antigo 2 staying this time in a different apt. The weather was different this time too, slightly cloudier (though still warm and gorgeous and really easy to burn!) and the sea was less wavy which made swimming a lot easier. Apartment 29 was quite functional (just), a toaster and a bit more cutlery would have been nice (but not essential), it did have a washing machine which was very useful as there was not a change in bathroom towels/bedding during our stay. The bed was very comfortable which was a nice surprise as a few other listings said otherwise (could have been for 31 instead). There were a few things that required fixing and a key for the key safe would have been great. I did enquire about one but did not get a response. The shower was good and powerful, just need to remember to turn it off during washing as it's easy to run out of hot water especially with 2 of you showering. The TV also didn't work but didn't bother us as we don't watch TV whilst on holiday, however the management company contacted me on our penultimate day saying they were going to replace it. There were also other reviews complaining about the construction noise, but we didn't encounter any during our stay and seems like the new apartment block being built next door is pretty much finished. We'll certainly return to Porto Antigo 2 - might try a different apt next time just because it's fun trying different apts, but I wouldn't be put off staying in Apt 29 again. Not too much, just little things that could have made things easier such as a kitchen tea towel, some extra towels (there were none provided for the beach so take your own). The hot water boiler leaked constantly and the drips were being collected in a pot, seems to me this is on it's last legs and could do with upgrading. There were a few cockroaches and other crawling bugs in the bathroom and sometimes in the kitchen area, but we cleared these up as soon as we saw them, it wasn't an issue but I can appreciate not everyone liking them. Nothing to do with the apartment, but there are a lot of local sellers trying to get you to buy their 'unique' (or not) souvenirs, it might feel rude, but it's just best to ignore them or politely say no thanks.

• David (10/5): Great location near to everything that you need. - The location was absolutely perfect. I had two great days there. Staff very friendly and helpful. Could perhaps do with updating it looks like it’s been a while since being refurbished. Ok for me as a single guy but if I was with my girlfriend coming for a dream vacation might not have gone down well.

Unfortunately the apartment had a distinct lack of crockery and cutlery it does have a beach view but at the moment building work going on so lots of rubbish making it a bit of a eye sore stayed two weeks no spare bedding or towels shower broke but did manage to get it fixed there are nicer apartments in this complex for less money it definitely could do with a refurbishment.

Enjoyed everything.
• Rebecca (4/5): Number 28 is riding on the coats tails of the other apartments in the complex. - Taxi driver had the code for the key. Lovely pool and great proximity to the beach and town. The room was beyond "tired". Cupboard doors hanging off, missing knobs, broken shower bracket and one of the shower doors was missing (the host knew this but no apology, acknowledgement ie off offer of a bottle of wine or a few beers, that's all was needed!). The water heater was leaking as was the fridge. While we were there we had to open the room for trades to come in a measure up!!
• Małgorzata (3/5): Disappointing - Amazing location Great swimming pool area Friendly staff Most of all - lack of internet in the apartment. Wi-fi was available only on the balcony and was instable. I was supposed to do work, which was not possible, the staff didn't repair it though the 4 day stay and refused a refund for this major inconvenience. I had to use international mobile data for some of my work. Lots of mosquitos coming from the bathroom. Something in bed bit me in the face in the night, I had intensive spots for over a week. Bed bugs? I don't know. I never had anything like this before. Every coming night was very stressful for me because of this reason, and I couldn't rest well. There was some confusion at my arrival - the staff member wasn't notified about my booking. Payment by cash which meant an extra commission at the ATM. Only 1 ATM in town had cash, I had to try 4 around the town, pretty stressful. Overall a tired, basic accomodation in an amazing location and great compound.

• David (6/5): Loved the location, would definitely stay at Porto Antigo 2 again, but would book an apartment with a sea or pool view a - Location, size Balcony facing the road, no ironing board. Waste pipe on bathroom wash basin broke and became detached so we had to wash, brush teeth etc in the kitchen sink. Nightmare checking in. Difficult to contact the owner.

Lovely pool area It's a studio with bed next to the sink and it's extremely tired and neglected. 3 mismatched towels supplied (no complimentary toiletries). Leaking seals meant water flooded into the kitchen when using the shower. I emailed the landlord directly via booking.com who replied with a threat to bill me for any damage caused! Disconnected TV/ Rusty fridge/Broken kitchen tap/cupboard doors hanging off/missing wardrobe hanging rail/ripped window mesh. I can only add 4 photos but I took many more. It seems these apartments are owned by individuals and this particular owner should be embarrassed. He needs to get these issues fixed before taking any more bookings. I would not recommend this room to anyone and will be complaining to booking.com as there was no other option but to pay up and accept this room as it was or find somewhere else at short notice.
• Bt (1/5): AWFUL APARTMENT! DON’T BOOK APARTMENT 31 - Nothing Apartment 31 requires a deep clean. The toilet was leaking badly it required 2 visits from maintenance to repair. The bathroom smells awful. The shower cabinet is full of black mold, the shower head is broken. The bed frame has been repaired with a large block of wood making it uncomfortable. The fly screen is off the runners, causing a problem when trying to open or close it. No washing machine as shown in the pictures. It turns out the listing is incorrect as there are 2 different apartments, apartment 31 is awful. We were not given any clean bedding or towels during our 2 week stay. Fresh running water is in short supply on the island which results in no running water for long periods sometimes it’s as long as 3 days in a row. In total we had no water for 7 days during our 2 week stay. Buckets of pool water had to used for flushing the toilet. We had to purchase bottled water for washing, The resort management refused to purchase additional water for the onsite tank which is supposed to provide running water for the apartments when the island main water supply is off. We felt unable to use the pool for swimming due possible hygiene issues as other guests used it to wash in. The agent looking after the property ignored our request to move to another apartment. After complaining to the agent we received a small discount on the cost of our booking, sadly this didn’t make up for our disappointing experience in Apartment 31

• The (2/5): Accommodation from hell……. - Porto Antigo 2 is in a great location We stayed in apartment 28 booked through booking.com and the place was very poor standard, I have lodged complaints with the agent, the owner and booking.com and so far have had no reply. As an example, there was no shower door, cupboard doors hanging off, damp and mould through out in large quantities, mould and rust in the leaking fridge, no working tv, I could go on and on, I paid €650 for 1 week and feel as though I have been scammed.
• Patricia (1/5): Disappointed on arrival nothing improved throughout! - Beautiful location. Some staff friendly others not so much. Well where to start when we entered our room there was a pile of dirty washing on the sofa bed, also a load of wet washing in the washing machine. The bathroom was not clean, the floor throughout the apartment was dirty (which I must add that my husband mopped with an extremely threadbare mop). The cupboard doors were tacky and dirty to touch, (which luckily enough I took my own washing up liquid and dish cloth so my husband cleaned all of the cupboards and handles).The cutlery had to be washed, the cups were dirty and they too had to be washed. There was mould in the shower cubicle. The sink in the bathroom was dirty. The sheet on the bed looked like it had already been slept on the pillow cases smelt musty, (again I always go prepared and took my own pillow cases and sheet).The bed settee in the lounge is dated and not clean and i certainly would not of even attempted to sit on it. The furniture on the balcony was not fit for purpose it just looked dirty and all the cushions had white smeared marks on them full of human hair, and I may add what looked like pubic hair. I am in no way a "snob" but I do expect certain standards when travelling to stay in another country. I appreciate that the island is becoming more popular and they are not as fortunate as other countries that we have vacationed to, but if a apartment is being rented out then surely they have an obligation to provide something that is fit for purpose. The whole apartment is just not cared for whatsoever. It needs a very very deep clean and some care and attention put into it. I contacted the person who I was dealing with and they told me that they would get in touch with the staff to see that things were rectified. Unfortunately nothing was done, the man who came up to our room told us that he would get a cleaner up to the room to sort things out, consequently nobody came.

• Cora (8/5): Enjoyed our stay here. Clean and comfortable and excellent location. - Location was perfect...on the beach and lovely pool area. Bed linen a bit basic.. only one pillow. No key for the safe.

• Henry (8/5): Good stay with the exception of check-in - Great location in town 1 minute from beach and 1 minute from main pedestrian street! Spacious apartment with living room, bedroom and bathroom. Tv, refrigerator, microwave, good wifi signal, Hot shower water, good A/C. The check-in process needs improvement. There's no front desk so exact coordination needs to take place prior to arriving to avoid confusion. The host should explain that their is no reception station or onsite help available immediately upon booking and detail each step of the check-in process to make it easy and stress-free for guests.
• Joanna (1/5): Never again - The location was the only good thing about it The AC didn't work. The balcony door wouldn't shut completely and, besides it being a safety and security risk, I got eaten alive by mosquitos at night. The room lacked basic necessities like hand soap in the bathroom. Every time I went to and from my room, I was questioned by security. I can appreciate someone doing their job but it happened every day I was there. I never saw anyone that was white being questioned

• David (9/5): Very relaxing in an ideal location. - The very relaxed atmosphere, proximity to the beach and everything. Nothing. If I was being fussy maybe the pool was quite chilly. Didn’t stop us going in though. One other slight thing, the staff were lovely but when they were doing repairs starting around half six was early.

• Miss (10/5): A perfect location for happiness - We had an amazing five days at the accommodation. Its location is perfect—right on the beachfront, with restaurants and pubs nearby. The staff is extremely kind and helpful. I would especially like to highlight Lenise, who helped us a lot♥️ We loved everything
• Luan (8/5): Good place to relax - The apartment complex is located just in front of the beach. The apartment has a balcony where you can see the sea, the sunset and enjoy a nice drink. The main Santa Maria's touristic street is across the road and you can find everything there. The pool is awesome. The phone number provided by Booking in from the previous manager but the new one contacted us when we landed on the island. The pictures available in Booking are from 2 different apartments. We stayed in one that didn't have the washing machine as shown in those pictures, but our stay was very short anyways. However, if you need to stay longer, maybe you could highlight that a washing machine is necessary so they can provide this apartment for you. Also, there is a leak in the toilet that must be fixed. The bed is not comfortable at all because there are two very light twin beds connected together by a bed sheet. If you are a couple, the beds keep splitting into two parts all the time and you cannot sleep well. That was definitely the worst part of this stay.
• Roi (10/5): Exceptional - I liked the location, the pool, mostly everything, I would come again. The bed sheets, I would prefer if they were 100% cotton and that the one attached to the mattress had elastic for a better fit, it was a bit annoying that it kept on moving out of place.

• Scott (4/5): Does not live upto its potential unfortunately - The facilities like pool area and location is good. The room was dank and smells heavily of smoke. It is a very tired property. Checkn was complicated. The property coul be so much better if the owner invested in an update to furnishings and decor. Overall disappointing.

• Jérôme (1/5): Bad system with online keys. - Could not get in I was convinced I booked it but missed a message after the confirmation that it was booked twice, so I never got a code for the door. I got there before 23h The night guard could not let me in either. I was there trying to get a code until my phone battery went flat. I had to look for a new place at one in the morning.

• Doreen (8/5): This studio is in a great location for a stay on Sal Island. - The studio is in a lovely garden and has a large pool next to the beach. It is also located just minutes away from the town center where there are shops and many restaurants. The studio is not really set up to do much cooking because there are not enough dishes, glasses or utensils.

This apartment is a street view balcony, good for people watching. morning sunshine & quiet shaded most of the day, a welcome relief sometimes. All was great

• Tro (7/5): Fantastic location. The flat needs a refresher - The location of the apartment is amazing. Access to both swimming pools and the beach within less than 5 minutes. It's so nice to have fridge, cooker, wash machine. The furniture are dated. The shower keep leaking because of the sealing coming off. There is no air conditioning in the bedroom so nights were quite unpleasant.
• Igor (10/5): Marvelous place, - Fantastic. I can recomend to everybody. Swimming pool two steps, Beach and ocean four steps. Main street with hundreds of restaurants six steps ;-). Diving center and pier ten steps. Qiute good equpiped kitchen, comfortable bed, air-condition, nice terrace. A very helpful host, he provided advice on activities on site. On the last day we had a midnight flight. We could stay in the apartment without additional charges until the evening. What's more, he organized transport from the airport to the apartment (we arrived at midnight, the driver was waiting for us). Thank you for everything Stan (Stijn) We have fantastic time
