Very good first impression and all staff pleasant and helpful. Very modern decor which I liked a lot. Great lighting design in public rooms and our bedroom. I loved the cosy bar lounge area and enjoyed a few cocktails. We booked a cosy double room and was given one with an estuary view which I thought was perfectly fine. Next time I would book a room with a kingsize bed. I would recommend that the hotel perhaps puts mattress toppers on the beds to give them some extra comfort at I found the bed a bit hard. Pillows were good quality as were the bathroom towels. Fridge was handy. Coffee - not great in the room and needed extra milk as only 2 pods. Excellent selection of teas. We would love to stay again and book the Indian restaurant. Excellent location.
- Jillncarl (10/5): Great hotel with amazing staff - We stayed at the Seven Hotel for 2 nights for our wedding anniversary and also to visit my Mum's memorial bench on the pier. We had an amazing time !! The hotel is so beautiful and the staff so kind, professional and helpful. We treated ourselves to an upgrade to a penthouse room with balcony which was money very well spent. Thank you especially to Messrs. Rashid, Praveen, Siju and Vikas .. also the gentleman on the bar and the gentleman in the cream suit. Everyone was so kind and attentive. I think this is the nicest welcome we have ever received in any UK hotel we have stayed in. The location was excellent too .. a short walk to the High Street and also to the sea front. We will definitely be returning. Thank you Seven Hotel for such a lovely memorable stay xxx

- Jan (7/5): To look at it, looks fantastic but when you spend a bit of time in the room you realise there are little things that the - Location and style. 1. our room didn’t have any blackout blinds so at 5 o’clock in the morning (May) it was very very bright and woke us up about 6am. 2. The shower didn’t work very well and 3. it was a weird configuration with the toilet and the toilet rolll holder - it was so far away that you had to stretch across which is very strange. It felt like they put the toilet in the sink the wrong way round.
- Charlotte (3/5): Not a high end boutique hotel - It was in a convenient area for the gig we attended. The staff were friendly and helpful The mattress was very hard and we both had back ache, we barely slept due to noise from what sounded like running water all night and other guests TVs and toilets being flushed on top of a very uncomfortable bed. It was extremely hot in the room and we could not turn heating down any lower than 18. The wet room was not properly fitted, we did not use the shower because of this. The soap, shower gel and shampoo dispensers were cheap and nasty. The TV remote did not work properly, the tea tray had cheap, granulated coffee, this was all very disappointing considering it's not a cheap room rate and is sold as a high end boutique hotel.

- 225joannak (6/5): Lovely staff - Hotel NOT Boutique - I stayed here with my family for my dad’s birthday. We usually stay in Thorpe Bay but decided to try somewhere different for a change of scenery. The hotel’s location is excellent, and the staff are friendly and welcoming. However, it’s difficult to understand why it’s marketed as a boutique hotel. Having stayed in boutique hotels across Europe, I would consider this closer to an overpriced three-star property. Despite being open for seven years, it still retains the feel of its former life as a care home. The single-glazed windows rattle, and the air conditioning units are outdated and noisy. There was visible dust on wall lights and other areas, and the bathroom tiles appear worn and in need of updating. If you overlook these issues, the sea view is pleasant. That said, it feels as though the “boutique” label may be based more on the hotel’s size than on its quality, which ultimately doesn’t meet the expected standard.
- nitamaria1 (10/5): Top Hotel :) - Wow, what a lovely place , from booking over the phone with a very lovely gentleman, understood the needs for us as a family, with my 92 year old Dad. Found us the perfect rooms over looking the beach. Rooms were very very clean and had all that we needed. A lovely welcome on arrival, and sorted our rooms early, as we did arrive a bit early. We had drinks in the sunshine on the decking out the front, which were served to us. I didn't think I would like the idea of breakfast not being included, but as we were going out for lunch, it was perfect for dad to have a small breakfast, ( pay as you choose) They want above and beyond to make our stay, and we will definitely be going back in November, and hopefully have dinner in the hotel this time, as we had other plans on this stay.

Large room with a separate large bathroom area. Amazing walk in shower. Also impressed on the large TV in the room, American thing.. we ate breakfast and dinner several times over the 4 nights. Great food and pricing was good. I really was pleased with the team work of the staff and service we were given. I travel a lot and must say if you are in Southend this is the place to stay. I checked in, saw the terrible state of the room, layers of dust, dirty glasses, handprints,all over the mirrors and TV and hair on the bed, and window ledges. it didn't look as though the sheets had even been changed. I was advised that housekeeping had checked the room after I complained, and it was 'fine'. I was offered another unclean room, and told I was 'lucky to have been upgraded'. I left and booked into another local hotel instead. My booking was non-refundable, but as soon as I sent the photos of the dirty room, I was instantly refunded by the booking company with an apology. The hotel staff were completely unwilling to help,and most worryingly, they refused to acknowledge or accept responsibility for the uncleanliness. They genuinely couldn't understand why I thought it was unacceptable. An incredibly upsetting experience after a long journey.

I try to look for a plug to try it off but it’s hard wired in to the wall. Also the coffee machine didn’t work either

- YOUME55 (10/5): Seven Southend Stars - An excellent hotel with very professional and friendly staff from reception through to the restaurant. The sea facing super king room we booked was exceptional. The linen was of a very good standard as were the toiletries. The hotel restaurant served a delicious lunch from a very large menu and breakfast was just as fresh and delicious too. Well worth a visit and we are returning in April.

Air con unit in our room constantly sounded like a flushing toilet, even when off. Generator outside our room on all night - we know this as we didn't sleep and left at 4am. Tv remote had gunk all over it. Bottle for the water was chipped and cut my lip. Bathroom also smelled like drains. Room 209.

Parking limited spaces and even out front very busy. Saturday night traffic was grid locked all up the road. Shower was great except as a wet room the whole room got soaked.

- Lewis (2/5): Extremely disappointed- all complaints ignored . - The location - genuinely is the best part of this hotel 2 coffees £13.20 , water dripping through ceiling as bathroom are not built correctly , the wet rooms the water goes the opposite direction to the drains , they have laid plastic strips to try to stop water it doesn’t work , plastic fittings in bathroom for dispensing shampoo etc , fall off wall , very cheap products , for a boutique hotel it should have little products , air con is very loud , guests leave dirty trays in corridors these are only checked every 7 hours , black out curtains are fitted incorrectly so do not work , the light fittings are falling off walls , it’s extremely cheaply built , food is only Indian , staff are all Indian which isn’t a problem but the look vacant at you when you explain issues , they do not respond to complaints . Other customers were arguing at checkout , three couples complained just as we were checking out .

Only 6 hotel spaces in hotel carpark and all pay & display parking locally full. The hotel room was a shoebox, very dark, awful view from window. Room was very tired and needed a refurb. Ned was a small double and had dried blood stain on flat sheet. Lights were dusty, urine on toilet seat from previous guest. Decor was shabby. Room felt like a cell.

No body wash/shampoo in the dispensers in the rooms, one dirty or stained hand towel. The sofa beds/seating area in the room was quite stained. Didn’t have time to raise this with the reception as I was in a rush, although I’m sure this would have been rectified.

- Santana (5/5): It was ok. The beds were nice and I slept well - The room. The beds. The bathroom. The lobby and available seating. The free cookie from reception desk. Sauna. A horrible smell coming from our fridge cupboard. Cheesy smell. Not enough teabags, milk!! Lobby snacks cost way too much. Tv not available for streaming. This was the most disappointing about the room. But most disappointing overall for this hotel is the “spa”. It should not be called a spa at all. The entire pool area felt outdated and cheap. And the water didn’t look or feel clean.
- Henry Jayson (5/5): Ok But…. - Nice hotel with a good location. Rooms of good quality, fully fitted with ironing board, hairdryer safe, and everything else to be expected. Unfortunately, on night too my room had not been cleaned so I came home to an unmade bed. I did report this and they said the sign was left on the door not to disturb. This was not the case. I had removed the sign before leaving that morning. So I’d suggested a complimentary breakfast in view of this situation. There was not really any other explanation offered as to why the room was not cleaned, which I am sure it was a one off . This morning when I paid my final bill, I was expecting some gratuity, however nothing was offered. So for this reason, I will not be going back.

- Julia (8/5): - Room was large and beautifully decorated. Seating area by window overlooking sea was well designed. Bar is small but bar staff knowledgeable and friendly. One of the blinds was broken and the soap dispenser in the bathroom was empty.

- Joanna (5/5): - The location is good and convenient for the town and the Cliffs Pavilion. The room overlooked the backyard behind the kitchen and there was an industrial walk in fridge outside which made a buzzing noise constantly. When I raised this with the hotel staff I was told that the noise was the kitchen extractor fan and it would stop at around 10pm when the kitchen closed, but the noise did not stop. Luckily I had some good earplugs with me....

- Phil (10/5): lovely hotel, really good staff, lovely restaurant - the staff were all extremely helpful and considerate, nothing was too much trouble. Fazel was really good both in the restaurant and reception, thank you. I really enjoyed the seafood linguine for dinner, very tasty The shower was really good but the floor wasn't sloped adequately so water runs out into the main bathroom area
