Even when you got in the lifts most times was so crowded you could barely move.

Location was perfect and so easy to reach everywhere we wanted to go. Some staff were perfect others not so much. Air con stopped working which I asked about 3 times and had been told someone would be sent up, and would be fixed by time I got back. Left for the day thinking I would come back to it being fixed and no one got sent up and request was ignored. To amend the issue got told I would be refunded 30% of the trip and have only had $100 sent with no follow up. This part left the trip feeling a bit sour even though we loved the room overall.

• Tara (10/5): This was the perfect home away from home! - Everything! It was amazing! The bed and pillows were amazingly soft and fluffy. The location is right in the centre of the city, with easy access for taxi/Ubers to pick up/drop off. Local to shops, supermarkets and transport. The view was absolutely stunning! And late check-out a big bonus! Bathroom is dated, which is to be expected of an older building. Could have been a little cleaner but it didn’t worry me too much. Didn’t have face towels available (unless I just couldn’t find them!); a minor inconvenience.

The location was excellent and very convenient to shops, restaurants, and public transport. The staff were friendly and professional, and the check-in process was smooth. Everything was well maintained and made our stay very relaxing. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Sydney.

Hotel was clean, but you had to ask for extra towels - It’s was good, however I booked a studio and the pictures showed a couch, however when I got there I had to pay extra money to upgrade to a one bedroom. It was my birthday and they did not offer me any complementary, said they would have a bottle of wine in the room which they didn’t have. I would have expected a birthday wish at least. The price for 1 night stay and the pictures on the app is not what you get under the studio.

The view I thought the gentleman in reception was a little too quick to decide upon his opinion of me. Given the debacle I was experiencing at the very moment of check in. I explained my situation and apologised, I just thought he could have been a little more understanding. At least not huff with eyes rolling when I asked to borrow a pen. On her birthday,My now 16 yr old daughter had just disembarked from a train at central station. Her first time alone on a train, her very first time in Sydney (over 5 yrs old). She was understandably overwhelmed, troubles with my card and my bank had me at the reception desk for far too long , and it was just not a nice 15 minute time frame.

• Jeanie (9/5): Overall a great stay - Beds were firm but very comfortable. Kitchen had adequate plates, utensils etc for use. Overall room was in good condition, comfortable and well resourced. Location 3-5 mins walk from a tram stop. Easy luggage storage for early arrivals and late departures. Staff very helpful. The hotel is on the edge of the China town area - this does mean that 90% of surrounding eateries are Asian food based. If visitors want non Asian food they will need to go a bit further away. We were more than happy with our original room but then discovered that the fridge would only freeze food, the coffee machine didn't work and neither would the dishwasher. We talked to reception about this and it was quickly resolved by moving us to another room which was an upgrade and everything worked well.

The location was perfect for a short stroll to Darling Harbour where everything was at our finger tips. We had a seamless stay at The Meriton and would definitely book again when we visit Sydney. • Zainab (6/5): nice location - great location, staff are friendly and helpful, big spacious suites its very outdated, i dont really know what about this is 5 stars. the fridge was leaking a weird brown liquid when we opened it. the room was just okay, the sofa had a few stains.

• Michelle (8/5): - Staff were very welcoming, friendly. Security was good access to lift only through room card and only gives access to your floor. Room was nice and bright, clean and comfortable. Check out extremely quick.

• Christine (8/5): Great location, however, expect crowded lifts and long waiting times - The location was great and being able to self cater was great. The staff were helpful There were lengthy delays with the lifts for the entire 5 days we were there.

• koichi (9/5): とても記憶に残る良いホテル - 何処に行くにも交通の便も良く、スーパーや飲食店も近くにあるので良かったが、キングサイズベッドをシングル２つにしてくれるなど、オーダーにも対応してくれた。 湯船はあったが、清掃は十分でなかったことや、シャワールームと離れていたので使い勝手が悪かった。
