• S.H.B. (7/5): Mooie natuur, ongezellige kamer - De mooie ligging in de jungle Het fijne zwembad Het hartelijke personeel bij de ingang en aan het ontbijt. De aftandse en shabby inrichting van de kamer. Alles het goedkoopste van het goedkoopste, niet bij elkaar passend en versleten. De kamer was heel ongezellig en zonder liefde ingericht. De kamers zijn gehorig. We konden de buren horen praten, verder stond er achter het gebouw een apparaat dat af en aan heel veel lawaai maakte, zowel overdag als 's nachts. Het was niet heel schoon.

Der Pool war ein tolles plus bei der Hitze, dass man die Aras hier Fliegen sehen konnte war toll, wir könnten Vögel beobachten und Fledermäuse Das Häuschen war nicht sehr luxuriös, aber die Klimaanlage hielt die Temperatur hinreichend zum Schlafen und die Betten waren bequem, es gab nur sehr wenige Insekten. Das Personal war sehr freundlich , und das Frühstück war schön gemacht und lecker. Wir wären gerne noch eine Nacht geblieben. Kleines Bad.
• Eugen (9/5): Ein schönes Naturerlebnis - Schöne, ruhige Lage mitten im Wald. Wir konnten in der Früh Brüllaffen und Aras hören. Sehr gute Ausgangslage für Ausflüge nach Jaco oder Quepos (mit dem Mietwagen). Sehr freundliches Personal. Wir hatten das Deluxe Häuschen „Congo 2“. Alles war sehr schön eingerichtet, super sauber und modern. Wir hatten mit unseren 2 Kindern einen schönen Aufenthalt. Trotz angebrachter Fliegengitter gab es gerade abends recht viele Insekten im Haus. Was sich bei der Lage im Wald aber nicht verhindern lässt.
• Anna (1/5): - Nothing Our room had a moth flying around, it was extremely unpleasant, we were afraid to open our suitcases so as not to bring it home with us. The roo. Was also very tiny. The breakfast was terrible, crowded and not good quality food. The pools are old, all activities are extra money. Not worth the visit at all. There are way better places in Costa Rica. We left after one night , even though we paid for two nights. I didn't want to have a memory of Costa Rica tarnished by this place.

Selva Color es el lugar!! - Instalaciones: hermosas villas ubicadas dentro del bosque, limpias y equipadas con lo que necesitas para una tranquila estancia. Atención de personal: excepcional, te reciben con gran amabilidad y calidez. Desayuno: Excelente, sirven un café delicioso. Un maravilloso lugar para avistamiento de aves, caminar por el bosque, respirar aire puro y reiniciarse. Absolutamente nada.... todo fue grandioso!!!

Les photos du site nous ont induites en erreur. En effet, il y a 2 standing de logement et nous avons eu la moins moderne.

• Olga (7/5): Gut gelegen, aber schlecht ausgestattet. - Die Lage innerhalb der Natur. Die Einrichtung der Bungalows, sehr klinisch, nicht gemütlich. Von der Decke ist Kondenswasser von der Klimaanlage getropft, direkt auf die Kissen im Bett. Es waren unglaublich viele Insekten im Haus. Andere Unterkünfte im Dschungel sind besser isoliert.
• Anne (10/5): Fantastic accommodation in jungle location with pools and superb breakfast - We stayed in Congo 2, which seemed to be brand new: it was really comfortable and spotlessly clean, with excellent kitchen facilities and a great bathroom. The views of the jungle are lovely and we saw lots of birds, particularly scarlet macaws - a large group were in the tree right next to the room. We had access to a pool a few metres away, with a jacuzzi pool, as well as the large main pool at reception. The local town has several supermarkets, so we were able to buy food to eat in while looking out at the jungle views. Breakfast was excellent: fruit and juice, followed by a choice of typical Costa Rican gallo pinto or eggs with toast, all served with unlimited coffee. We only stayed one night as we were breaking up a longer journey, but it was a great choice for a relaxing stopover.

• Lorna (9/5): We loved it and hope to go back someday! - Our accommodation was wonderful: spacious and comfortable, right in the heart of the jungle, with birds all around us. The Echolodge grounds are vast—a true slice of paradise in the middle of the jungle, just 15 minutes from the main road leading to Dominical. The breakfast area is peaceful and beautifully decorated, the staff was charming, and the breakfast was delicious. Bonus: You can find macaw nests in several of the large trees on the property.

• Lynn (10/5): Lush grounds, comfortable cabin and nice staff made for a lovely stay - We were looking for a property convenient to the national park and to the river for birdwatching and to be in nature. This surprise find was on the edge of a small village nestled into the mountain side and the property was very lush. The private cabin we rented, iguana verde, was comfortable and I loved having a side door with our own picnic table outside, as well as chairs outside on the front, plus seating inside. The staff was lovely, and it felt very traditional Costa Rican. The breakfast was simple but delicious. I would happily stay here again. While in the area we went to the national park, had a private birding boat tour on the Tarcoles river, and enjoyed the sunset from a lovely soda at the Agujas beach, which was only a few kilometers down the road. We also enjoyed being able to see Scarlett macaws from the property.

• Joel (7/5): Nice stay in the jungle - The name says it all. Is a nice place with natural surroundings. We saw monkey, a small toucan and a lots of birds including hummingbirds. Once you get inside the room it has a funky smell but it goes away once you turn on AC. Blankets and pillows were very old but we made it work for the 2 nights we stay. Breakfast was good with 2 options every morning. Stay is near a bunch local bakeries, supermarket and places to eat in a reasonable driving time. The staff were amazing always helpful. We will stay if they fix blankets, pillows. Pool was clean but since you are kinda in a forest some bugs sometimes fell in water but is normal due to the area. Blankets and pillows too old

• Christine (8/5): - Large room with cooking facility. Comfortable. Difficult to find without your own means of transport. When the bus dropped us at the main road we called the hotel and a vehicle was quickly sent to pick us up. Because it is so far from shops and restaurants we ordered food via WhatsApp messages to the manageress (Patricia) & she kindly brought it to us in her car. Staff helpful. Breakfast was provided at the pool side. Howler monkeys would start screaming at about 4.30 am

Le seul hôtel à nous avoir facturé 30 $ pour notre enfant alors que nous avions une chambre quadruple avec deux grand lit. Le personnel au petit déjeuner avait l'air blazer de notre présence et n'attendais qu'une chose que l'on partent. Une voiture est indispensable car vraiment rien autour

• Ulrike (6/5): Sehr in die Jahre gekommen, aber Tierbeobachtung möglich. - Die Parkanlage, in der die Unterkunft lag, bot Möglichkeiten, ein paar Tiere (Leguan, Affen, Ara) zu sehen und zu hören. Der Pool war sauber und alle Mitarbeiter waren sehr, sehr freundlich! Das Frühstück war lecker. Die Anlage ist sehr in die Jahre gekommen. Es wirkt alles sehr alt und teilweise schäbig. Das umliegende Viertel war grenzwertig, wir fühlten uns nicht wohl. Die Hütte hat Spalten, durch die abends und nachts die Geckos ein- und ausgehen. …muss man mögen 😬

The staff helped us finding our bungalow and gave us an umbrella to get from the car to the bungalow. The bungalow was private, small kitchen but functional, bedding was good and so was the shower. From the swimming pool and our bungalow we were able to spot macaws, which we didn’t see at the national park Carara. In my opinion you need to have you own car. The lodge is not that close to other restaurants or shops. And the driveway to the blue bungalow was too steep for our 4wd drive car.

• Gary (10/5): Wonderful stay in a scarlet macaw sanctuary - We had two small bungalows booked but they upgraded us to a wonderful two bedroom house with a pool right next to it. We were high on a hill surrounded by a scarlet macaw sanctuary. The birds were one of our prime reasons for visiting the area so the birders were in heaven. Great typical Costa Rican breakfast and a very accommodating staff.

We didn’t have time to use the pool, but it looked clean and inviting. Staff are friendly and accommodating. The location is perfect for catching early morning birding tours at nearby Carara NP. Would definitely stay here again.

• Marianne (10/5): - I loved Selva Color for a place to stay near Carara National Park and the village of Tarcoles, where you can see the gorgeous Scarlet Macaw Parrots, many other beautiful birds, monkeys, and other wildlife. 10 minute drive. There are Macaws right on the property to squawk their greetings as you check in. The staff was friendly and professional and answered all of my questions in English. The cabin I had was older, but beautifully decorated with the Scarlet Macaw red theme (perfect for me). Everything worked well, such ad frige and coffee maker, and everything was clean. The bed was comfortable and the secured grounds felt very quiet and safe. I went to Tarcoles village beach to watch the Macaws turn in for the evening and to enjoy a fabulous sunset. I recommend Selva Color for a good night sleep before serous birding in Carara National Park.

• Verified traveler (2/5): Don’t stay there!! - The water got cut off when we needed to take showers after swimming, and then came back after about one hour. It sounded like that happens a lot because they told us to use the emergency water which they store in a couple of 6 liter water underneath the sink. The worse part is the electricity went down at 10:39pm, so we didn’t have power, air conditioning, and the internet until 9:30 am the next day. It was hot and humid in the room. I didn’t feel safe sleeping the whole night because the staff all went home at 9pm and we were the only customers there that night. As for the breakfast, they gave us plain toasted breads, a couple pieces of cut fruits, and coffee because they didn’t have the electricity to cook hot breakfast. The hotel needs some serious major updates. Windows and entrance door have so many crakes that we had to put toilet paper to block the insects, such as mosquitoes, ants, etc. to come into the room. Towels are so old and ripped (see pictures attached). With that kind of condition they shouldn’t be charging what they are charging currently. They should not be in the hotel business if they are not able to provide their customers with basic essential services, such as water, electricity, and safety. I didn’t feel safe being there.
• Sandra (10/5): Unique get a way! - Beautiful place and very friendly and helpful staff. Clean, spacious rooms and parking next to the room. Walking through the jungle to your breakfast, while birds are whistling and chicades are tjirping, is the best way to start your day! We liked it all!

• Michelle (10/5): Exceptional - Great location and a beautiful setting. The staff were helpful and really friendly. Lovely breakfast every morning. We saw white nosed caotis, monkeys and lots of different birds during our stay. Definitely recommend staying here if you are in the area. Nothing, everything was perfect.
• Krista (10/5): Exceptional - The place was beautiful and quiet, set back in an amazing restored patch of forest. We were there for wildlife, and seeing macaws from inside the airconditioned room was fantastic during a heat wave. Very close to Carara National Park, and some decent restaurants nearby. Not too far from cities if you want more facilities, and the bus stops quite close-by. Staff were great. Only improvement would be a restaurant open for dinner so we didn't have to leave.

• Simon (10/5): - Wonderful secluded location in the heart of the forest. The pool was really nice and only 25 metres from our lodge. So much wildlife all around, a pair of Macaws up in a tree and many other species of birds and reptiles. The staff that provided breakfast were wonderfully friendly and overall it was a lovely place to stay.
• wes (8/5): - THIS HOTEL WAS A NICE PLACE TO STAY TO GET AWAY FROM IT ALL. THE TOWN IS SMALL BUT HAS ALL THE STORES AND SERVICES THAT YOU MAY NEED. THE RESTURAUNTS OFFER GOOD FOOD. PATRICICA HELP US OUT WITH TRANSPORATION AND ANY QUESTIONS THAT WE HAD. YOU REALLY GET TO HEAR HOW PURE NATURE SOUNDS LIKE. THE POOL WAS GREAT IN THE MIDDDLE OF THE DAY AND YOUR CLOSE TO MANY EXCURSIONS. I RECCOMEND THIS PLACE TO STAY TO GET OUT OF THE BIG CITY LIFE. WE WILL BE BACK.

• Sofia (10/5): Exceptional - I really enjoyed this place. It's all sorrounded by nature, the swimming pool was cleaned and the privacy of the place it's wonderful. The staff it's so adorable, specially Sandra and Carlos. The breakfast was delicious, really good coffee and fresh fruits. I highly recommend this place. Nothing
• Dmitri (10/5): A nice relaxing short stay; could be a good base to visit the coast from Tarcoles and Manuel Antonio - The property is close (a couple of minutes) to the main road, but is actually inside genuine tropical forest with dispersed lodgings and a pool. We saw there more animals (at closer distance and in a shorter time) than in the nearby Carara national park (with fees to pay on the internet). We had a spacy house. the breakfast was good and the pool nice. Excellent value for money, in particular relative to Quepos (manuel Antonio). No complaints.
