Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Ekonomi oda almış olmamız kömürlükten bozma 5 metrekare rutubetten burnumuzun tıkandığı nefes alamadığımız bir yerde kalmamızı gerektirmiyor bence hijyen temizlik konusuna değinmek bile istemiyorum biz mecburen kaldık
- Bihter (8/5): - Fiyat kalite oranı çok güzeldi ,sakin, huzurlu gerçekten tertemiz insana dinginlik veren bir yer
- Pascale (4/5): - Impossible to take a shower because a door was missing. Water got al the way on the floovery noicy hotelr.
Otopark yoktu.
- Ayse Nur (8/5): 2 gece 3 gün - Teşekkür ederim uşaktan geldik Saat 2 de otele giriş yaptık . Havuz falan gayet güzeldi . Kahvaltı bi tık daha iyi olabilirdi . Yine de güzeldi . Konum olarak plaja 15 kuşadası çarşıya 10 dk yürüme mesafesi. Çok aşırı iyi . Rahatlıkla ailecek konaklama yapabilirsiniz. Teşekkür ederim
- zoricag574 (8/5): For money it is great - Nice staff, very pleased, ready to help all the time.Clean pool. Classic breakfast. Location on hill, but lot of fresh air on the balcony, we went with taxi. Good Wi fi at room. I would give excellent, but there is no lift.
- Volkan (2/5): - Sadece yatııp gidicem diyorsanız uygun fiyatı umarım kendilerini yenileyip düzeltirler
- Verified traveler (6/5): Begenmedim - Temizlik konusunda 0 puan veriyorum.
- caner (2/5): - It is a very bad conditioned hotel. Rooms are very small, dirty and loudy. Air conditioning wasnt working. I strongly dont suggest anybody else to stay here
- 485neginz (2/5): THE WORST HOTEL EVER - My family and I reserved two rooms in this "HOTEL" through OTELZ 20 days before our trip. Three days prior to our trip the hotel called and said they did not have two rooms left !!!! We had already reserved the rooms and it was through the KNOWN site, so I do not understand how the hotel dared to call the customer in person and cancel a reservation which was made 20 days prior to our trip date which was confirmed by them . Anyway, after making several calls to the hotel and the website they said they solved the problem. When we got there, we were more than shocked, there are no words to explain the catastrophe!!!! First of all , there was NO PARKING LOT, but it mentioned that there is a parking lot and we had to park our car in a very narrow street. When we returned to our car, we realized that one of the wing mirrors of our car was hit by a car. The rooms!! Too dirty!! Just have a look at the pictures I took from my own room. It was more like a stable. It stank like sh…., mixed with the disgusting smell of mildew. The walls, as you can see in the photos, were covered with mildew. The bathroom was an ABSOLUTE DISASTER, filled with MOULD everywhere. The shower was not even working properly. There was no toilet paper, shampoo, hair dryer or even soap. The hotel has no room service. While walking towards our room, I saw trash all over the corridors. Literally speaking, it was a stable. We couldn't stay there even for one hour, and although we had paid for everything, we left the place and went elsewhere. We called otelz but they did even respond, we are still calling them and still there is no response. We wasted our MONEY, TIME, AND ALL OUR POSITIVE ENERGY. THEY RUINED OUR TRIP. DO NOT EVEN THINK OF GOING THERE OR YOU, JUST LIKE US, WILL SUFFER THE CONSEQUENCES.
Berbat
- Verified traveler (8/5): Fena değil - Otel genel durumu ve temizligi fena degildi fakat kahvalti cok zayifti.
- Adrian (2/5): 3 am and told hotel room is sold. Not good - I was delayed and was very late arriving the hotel said as I had not sent an email stating i was going for to be very late so they sold my room as they thought it was a fake booking. Lucky for me I was able to get another place. But i coild have been really shafted big time. They were polite but unapologetic blaming me and the fact they could not access my money from card details.
- Meybootje (10/5): Nice hotel, sweet People - I can recommend this hotel for a short or a long stay.
It's situaties on a hill and Right onbeweend Ladies-beach and the centre.
For a rough 10 lira you have a taxi both ways.
Nice swimming-pool, good beds, balcony and sunny-restaurant.
I will never go anywere else as the personal service is feeling so good to me...
You kind a miss it in the huge resorts i also been into.
Ogun and family, till next time !!!!!!
- janvanruth (6/5): plus: great value for money, minus: location on top of a climb - on top of a steep climb, not for the not so fit.
payed only euro 57 for three nights 2 persons including breakfast.
and that was great value!!!!!
pool clean, room basic but clean, airco was extra but not really needed.
the food i cannot comment on, as we ate out all days.
a cup of coffee, a bottle of beer around the pool were the same price as everywhere else.
- LesleyR866 (10/5): Fabulous holiday! - We have just arrived home after having spent two wonderful weeks in Kusadasi, Turkey at the Og-Erim Hotel. Ogun, the proprietor, speaks excellent English, has a brilliant sense of humour and is great to chat with.
Ogun, with his lovely wife, Tulay and staff members Aysun and Ercan, all went out of their way to make sure that we had a really enjoyable break. Nothing was ever too much trouble and they were all so friendly and helpful at all times, genuinely wanting us to enjoy our holiday.
We stayed on a half-board basis and enjoyed a Turkish breakfast each day -tomatoes, peppers, yoghurt, fresh bread, olives, eggs, cheese, etc. on the terrace, in the sunshine each morning. In the evening, we ate typically Turkish meals, cooked and prepared by Tulay and Aysun. These were delicious! In the two weeks we were there we never had the same meal twice!
On the day before our return to England, Ogun contacted our holiday company to confirm our transfer back to Bodrum, which was very kind of him, as obviously it would have been difficult for us with our inability to speak Turkish. On the day of our return home, the shuttle bus, which was due to pick us up at 6.30pm had still not arrived at 7.10pm. Ogun rang the company to remind them that we needed to be collected, reassured us, and we were collected 15 minutes later. A bit of a stress but Ogun got us sorted!
All in all, a brilliant holiday staying with people who treated us just like family! Can't recommend too highly!
- Irisd537 (10/5): So great again! - Small, very cosy family hotel! The owners and staff make you feel very special!
If you don't fancy big all inclusive hotels and don't want to feel like a number, you have to try is, it is really great.
Rooms are small and clean, every room has a balcony. The swimmingpool is not so big, but good for refreshing. If you have half pension: you are lucky, the cook is the best!
I have been in a lot more hotels, but nowhere I felt that special! Thnx everybody :-)!
This was the second time in Ogerim, but certainly not the last.
- Hilly64_12 (8/5): Peaceful, friendly,Clean,Loved it!! - I stayed at Sahin Yuvasi hotel early June 2011,it was above the busy town and fabulous views of Pidgeon island and Kusadasi if you take the longer costal route down into the town at sunset. I was holidaying alone but was made to feel very welcome and found all the staff very friendly and helpful. The cleaning staff did a fabulous job daily and were always smiling. The pool was clean and Adem the barman was also very friendly and kept everything neat and clean throughout the day. I loved the location as it was away from the noise of the town and yet only a short walk down into town for shopping/eating or booking excursions. I would definetly recommend this hotel and I thoroughly enjoyed my two weeks there, Thankyou All at Sahin Yuvasi and Well Done! Hilary
- LisaP1989 (8/5): The staff are just like family by the end of your holiday :) - We stayed in this hotel in July 2011, and what a lovely wee hotel :) We went as two couples and really enjoyed staying here. As we were going for a wee 'cheapie' holiday we were very impressed with the standard of the rooms and the cleaning. The staff were lovely and helped us out every step of the way- they ordered taxis for us, they told us good places to eat/ drink and shop and at the pool they were always checking how our holiday was going and if we needed anything. Also our flight wasnt until 1 in the morning, so they let us stay in another room until we were leaving. They also had a cute wee dog running around who was very friendly- made all of us feel at home! Everytime we seen a member of staff including the maids they always give you a good greeting- Im very weary about staying in foreign places and I was very comfortable here. It is not full of luxury the rooms, very basic but they had a kitchen with a sink, utensils, a fridge/freezer, a miror sitting above a dressing table with a stool to do your make-up/hair, which was great! When we came in at night the staff always were up saying nigh niight and asking how our night was. We were allowed to run a tab and pay for our food/drinks when we wished. Around the pool there wasnt alot of people all the time which was great, cause you got your privacy while sunbathing!- our other friends that were staying in another high class hotel actually came to ours and gave them business around the pool beacause their hotel was jam packed and they couldnt even get a sunbed and had to lie on the grass at their hotel! We got taxis everywhere because it was too warm to walk a big distance but they were cheap and only cost 4 lira into the town centre were all the restaurants and shops were.
Overall this hotel was brilliant and we are thinking about going back next year because we felt safe and at home- two things you want on your holidays :)
- thebosslady (10/5): very impresed - we stayed 6th sept till 21st and had a great time at these appts.we opted for the one bed appt and self catering, the 3rd floor room was perfect for our stay , basic but very clean (cleaned every day ), kitchen area was basic regarding cooking utensils but we didnt aim to cook there anyway (who does ) only thing lacking was a kettle but we brought our own and we felt that we could have asked for one if needed..
despite other reviews we found the small team of staff very friendly and helpful. most of the staff are family owners of the hotel.the hotel was very quite regarding other guests and it was closing down for the seaon the week we left.
regarding the location, yes it is up on a hill but it is only about a 20min slow walk from the harbour area but the no5 dolmus takes you most of the way if needed then a 5min walk up a not so steep hill (ask for tuesday market ).
it is very easy to complain about these type of hotels as they are in a more natural location regarding the neighbour hood ie away from the touristy area but you are living with local people with there day to day life. yes there are the odd hound barking and the bread man comes round calling but there are also local shops which are very cheap and friendly
when you take into account how cheap these are and if you do a little homework iwe fail to see how you can expect 5 star hotels at 2 star prices.
maybe our expectations are not quite so high as others but we have stayed around the corner last year and was equalaly pleased so please bear this in mind when chosing here.
one good point to remember is to take one of the hotel cards with you when you first go out as it is easy to loose your bearings in the imeadiate location as the roads do look the same to start with then you can ask for directions back.
also the name is pronounced " shaan yuvasi ".
also regarding previous reviews regarding the not taking food in with you, yes there is a polite note in reception with this request but it does only apply to the hotel block and not the self catering side.
the food appeared to be good although we only ate one breakfast there but this was only because we were out and about most of the time and that was very good. yes the prices are a little higher than you may espect but not too much but again bear in mind the overall cost of staying here , they do have to make a living.
we left our room maids a tip after the first week and again at the end of our stay, but even before this we were always given a cheery wave and hello from below at the pool area when they were passing through,
regarding the pool (which we never use pools anyway ) i have not seen such a clean pool for a very long time although the childrens pool was shut down but as i stated before the hotel was closing.
all in all very pleased with our choice and full marks to the owners and other staff for making our break enjoyable and relaxing
- lisabignix (8/5): Great Hotel and wonderful staff xx - We recently stayed at the Sahin Yuvasi Hotel and really enjoyed our stay. There was a slight hick up with our room on the first night which was dealt with and resolved the next morning.
The bar staff (Adem, the running man and Co), made the hotel fantastic and they were available at all times for advise and whatever you needed.
The pool area was clean and relaxing and at night it was nice to get away from the hussle and bussle of Kusadasi and get back to the peace and quiet.
We will definately visit again x
- allybally1461 (2/5): Worst place i have ever been in Turkey - The appartments were very small but would have been ok if the staff were freindly which they were not, they would chase you up for money all the time. I got a small bottle of water in the morning and then went shopping when my husband went to the bar about an hour latter my husband was asked to pay my bill a hole 1.5 lira. When kids were playing at the pool the were told to be quite all the time if they dont want kids there make it an adult only hotel. My freind was on the sixth floor and the lift was allways breaking down . We paid £60 for air condition which did not work when we told the staff we were told it was because it was hot outside after a lot of arguing they finely sorted it. The hotel is at the top of a very large hill i consider my self quit fit as i go to the gym 4 times a week but after walking up the hill once it was taxes everwhere which got quit expensive. The food in the hotel was very poor so we had to travel in to town for every meal.
- intelligentguy37 (2/5): Hotel from Hell - Please read the following experience……
This holiday was booked for sun master as a last minute deal now I can clearly see why this travel agent was desperate to give this trip away. On arriving in Turkey the transfer company run by cowboys (holidays 4 u) didn’t have a clue. We waited on a coach for two hours before leaving the airport on a very hotel day because an arriving flight back with other holiday makers was delayed. When asked why the coach driver couldn’t just come back for them we were told ‘No speak english’ despite the fact that I’d had a conversation for ten minutes before hand.
We finally left after 2hours 30mins and the first stop was a petrol station, suddenly his excellent English returned money was involved. By this time other English holiday makers with small children let rip and demanded that we continue to the hotels much to the reps disgust. One the first stop a lady with her mother who was clearly suffering from a medical condition was drop off on a small rocky road by the motorway and told to make their way across the road to their hotel. I’m sure you could image how disgusted they felt when the tour rip smiled and said sorry.
This whole ordeal took another 1 hour 30mins before I was told to leave the coach and a mini bus would pick us up. After 5 minutes van arrived, the driver looked like a child said hello then threw our cases into the boot and drove like a mad man to the hotels. Upon arriving at the Sahin Yuvasi hotel I heard approximately 20 dogs barking at once from all directions.
I was greeted by a very moody, scruffy looking bell boy that spoke no English who instructed that I sit and wait from something???? After waiting 5 minutes at the desk a manager finally decided to show his face and handed a hotel key to the bell boy. He took passport and just stared expressionless with even a hello, after handing back the required documents I was shown to the room. The bellboy didn’t even bother to take my bags and insisted we use the stairs to floor 2. Image my surprised when upon entering the room he asked for a tip, quite frankly told him where to go for a tip.
The room it self was clean with a decent shower, however the TV was place so high that even for a 6ft.1 bloke I had to stretch for the on switch. The maids came and cleaned the room everyday without fail and were very polite when asked a question. However the Air con cost £70 for the week and the hotel safe was the same price which was clearly a rip off. The room had a balcony which faced wall with tree’s (picture can be provided) and looking down a load of old rusted iron.
At night the dogs barked from 3am-5.00 non stop first one then all of them would start. As previous reviews stated that light sleepers will find this hotel a nightmare what others have said is actually true. Most of the houses in this area have dogs and these pets are kept outside. The hotel is situated right on top of a very steep hill that has lots of uneven/broken cobble stones. Anyone who has issues walking would up this hill extremely difficult especially during the day.
The hotel was very cheap budget and in my view doesn’t even make a one star, for example pool area had lots of broken tiles and the main is not children friendly plus very deep. The lift light for some reason will leave you in darkness when in operation and once stopped on then lights up. No hot water after 8pm plus the toilet wouldn’t stop flushing for a least 10 minutes. Bed sheets very itchy whilst the bathroom room
floor tiles were broken and very dangerous.
Breakfast was a joke not even a buffet plus the waiters decided the holiday makers eat, for example one boiled egg, four pieces of bread, four olives, one piece of processed cheese, four slices of cucumber and a very small pot of jam. Fresh orange just cost extra and it actually poured from a carton so please be warned.
For those who want to Sunday bath go to the beach instead no point in waiting till 3pm because that’s when the sun finally hits the hotel because the sunbathing area is directly between two tall buildings.
The beach is a fifteen minute walk or 5 minutes on the bus, taxis charged 10 lira with a big of haggling. The breach is generally crowded and beds cost 5 lira for the day, add another 5 lira for an umbrella . Lots of Turkish men walking up and down looking for mainly British blondes, one girl had her bag stolen and other was assaulted by a group of Turkish men.
- karbill89 (10/5): We don't want to leave - We came for 2 weeks but my husband ended up in hospital (major op) for our last week Ogun rang the doctor and got us to the hospital he rang every day to check on my husbands progress and even though the hotel was full came with his wife to see us and brought a lovely bunch of flowers we had to stay another week everyone was so kind and helpful they made the rest of the holiday wonderful took all the stress and worry away told us not to worry about paying. I just can't praise them enough they make you feel like family and genuinely care about the people who stay here you're not guests your valued friends highly recommend the chef's chicken kebabs too. Absolutely wonderful people xx
- koersn (10/5): Great Haccommodation and staff - We stayed here for 8 days and had a wonderful time with our 2 year old son. The hotel is small, cosy
and well organized. The staff was really friendly. Ogun, the owner speaks English very well and is very helpful. The day we ordered a taxi to go to the Millipark something came in between and taxied us there and picked us up. As we were in the beginning of the season they filled the small pool for our son and all have the staff were crazy with him. The rooms are nicely renovated and all have airconditioning. Every morning the turkish breakfast was good. The drinks they serve are very price worthy, no way you can find it anywhere else for that price. The dinners, also great! No menucards but really good turkish meals. The first time we had dinner he checked what he had and we were stunned. For the other evenings they asked us if we would stay for the bbq and again, perfect! Nice meat and fresh fish. All for a reasonable price. The swimming pool is spacious enough, the space around the pool is a bit on the small side, which made it a bit difficult to play ball with my son and you have to keep alert on his whereabouts, but then again with his 2 years, we would have that everywhere. The beds and parasols are clean and in good shape. The hotel is situated on the hill between the centre and Ladies beach. Both you can easily reach by foot, but going back we would recommemd to take a taxi because it is quit a walk up! The good thing abouth the location is that the temperature is by far better in the evening then in the centre. We would go here again definitly.
- bubble41 (6/5): No need to climb hill - get dolmus - get off at Dilek apart/hotel - Disregard "When did you stay here ...." and the star rating for this hotel - it's a requirement to choose one and i only wanted to address the issue of the hill down to the main shopping area and bar street etc. I have never actually stayed at this hotel.
As far as i know (from many holidays in Kusadasi - a few of my hotels have been located in the "Tuesday market area" (top of the hill from bar street down in centrum), the dolmus goes up that area to and from centrum and i do know there is a bus stop outside Dilek hotel because i used to get off there to get to my hotel - i never walked up that hill nor did i ever need to get a taxi. The dolmus coming from centrum goes along the main road then turns right at Migros supermarket and goes uphill into "Tuesday market area"
I quite like this area as the hotels and pensions are scattered amongst locals' houses and apartments, so you get to see the locals going about their everyday lives etc.
- livkal (10/5): Accommodation great value, as are the staff - Accommodation )apartment0 was excellent, although our balcony could have been bigger. Had a great week in which the rooms and hotel in general were kept clean by the cleaners who really did a good job, as did the bar.restaurant staff -- they could reduce their bar and food prices a little as they are more expensive as down town but that was a small irritation compared to the enjoyment we gained -- the pool is excellent however in my opinion not suitable if you have children (main pool very deep -- child (baby) pool though very shallow, if I had kids I owuldnt let them in for safety reasons). Was able to sunbathe around pool between 9am and 4/5pm daily. The hotel is in a residential area, and yes it is a steep climb back to it whichever way you walk back -- taxis however are not to expensive. A great relaxing hotel and with good staff (day and night) who seemed to all get on with each other. I would definetely recommend to those without children.
- bella065 (6/5): murat was great he made us feel welcome - hotel was basic but clean every time we ate at resteraunt they never had ahything I asked for the only thing i ate and enjoyed was omelette the food was terrible there was'ntany entertainment on at night the hotel was quite a distance from the town so we had to use taxis every time we went out overall we had a great holiday a big thank you to the staff and also the owners son i did not know his name but his slideshows were brilliant especially when he got the bigscreen thanks again
- Maiaa62 (10/5): A charming hotel with a wonderful staff who really cares for you - Traveling unspecified I was really happy to get this hotel. I have been to many hotels around the world and know what I like. This is for me perfect. You walk from the street into a nice pool-area. Here you can have your meals, lie on a sun bed and of course swim in the pool. There is also a pool-bar. The hotel has two buildings, one on each side of the pool-area. One with apartments, the other has rooms. I stayed in 5th floor. The room was small, but good bed and a wonderful view from the balcony. Everything seemed clean, and our air condition worked as it should. There is a small elevator, but I always prefer walking the stairs. There is also a nice reception area .
The food is delicious and very good. Most important to me is the staff. They are wonderful. They work so hard to make you happy. We did feel welcome as soon as we came into the hotel, and in a short time I knew that I would really enjoy my stay there. The hotel is located close to everything, the beach, downtown shopping-area, the harbor. From the harbor you can visit historical places like Efesus, you can visit the island Kos and more. Kusadasi is lively , colorful, and beautiful. I love the city, my hotel Sahin Yuvasi and the people who work and live there. Have a positive attitude and you will find that people in Turkey are the most friendly and helpful you will ever know.
