There were dead bugs, the sheets were not clean, the shower had someone else’s hair in the tub on the floor in multiple places, the door handle to the bathroom was broken, and I could hear our neighboring room without even trying, My daughter and I did not stay longer than 5 minutes before checking out. We did not feel safe or comfortable to sleep whatsoever.

- Rhonda (8/5): - Once we arrived, the room we had reserved was not clean. However, MARIA jumped right in and had it ready while we got a bite to eat. The room was clean and all i really saw was a need to be painted and bathtub didn't drain very well. Great place to stay with my dog. Has good area to walk and a small pin w/ shelter so one can sit at the picnic table on a sunny day and watch their dog play. For the price, we'll return.
- Tequita (4/5): - I changed rooms three times. First room had mold on the walls. Second room had critters and no hot water or phone; no suitcase rack. A place for hangers but no hangers. Third room had critters too. And later find we had no phone. It had a suitcase rack. No place for hangers and no door hooks for robes or towels. The refridgerator worked great on the highest setting. The cold breakfast was not surprising at all. I saw no cream cheese for the offered bagels. You have to use a key to get into the cateria. There was nothing HOT about breakfast other than some microwaveable oatmeal and instant grits ot some toast. The guest laundry room was unavailable.That's a two hour slot for $7. Why wasn't there any cable? I like the easy accessible to my car, the area for my dog to walk.
- Russell (8/5): Fair price for a three star room. - About what we expected. A fair price and a fair room. Needs some attention, though. Bathroom door would not shut all the way. Night stand drawer was barely hanging on. Could have used some dresser drawers to put stuff into. None in room. Fridge and microwave were fine. AC and bed were great. We will probably stay here again.

Second day of our stay was woke up early by staff to move our cars due to something they were doing to parking lot. Then had the smell of hot tar all day.
- Alisa (4/5): - night staff was awesome, day staff was rude. we only had 2 towels in our room and none in a second room we rented. asked for more towels and i had to bring towels in and was looked at weird when i told them we only had two. And then I only got handed 4 towels for 7 people? cause that is all they had till housekeeping came in at 10.... mind you, we had to be checked out by 11. I would actually not stay there again. They advertised free breakfast... both online and on their sign..... they stopped that apparently years ago. and this was one of my reasons for choosing this motel. So..... 60.00 later we got breakfast.... not worth the money.
- Marilee (4/5): Not as advertised - We arrived at 7:45 pm with the expectation of hopping into the pool after a long car ride only to find out the pool had closed 10 minutes prior! It's summer vacation!!! Then in the morning we got up early enough to get the hot breakfast advertised only to be told they no longer offer it because it costs them money and business hasn't been good. The toilet was slow and noisy. However, the room was very clean and had a great mini fridge but no coffee maker. It also sported an actual Roku TV which was amazing.

- Shirley (6/5): - there was no dining just coffee, no pool towels,no channel guide for the TV. No there was a rack to hang clothes but no hanger. The lady at the deck was nice and because there was nothing on the computer that showed my reservation. Lucly for me I printed the confirmation email which she used to check me in. Very thankful to her and all her help.

- Dawn (6/5): - Carpet smells bad, too old. It was an emergency stay. I was put in the back of the complex. Drug dealers running all around all night. Not safe at all. It was about as safe as sleeping in my car in that area. Went to get coffee, seemed quite at that time. Front desk staff looked annoyed at me asking where to go for coffee. I’m sorry I’ve never been here. She had No smile, said it’s around the corner at the restaurant. Note’s posted were were astringent and also slightly rude. I just wanted coffee. No food in rooms nor could leave the area. Then why was there a microwave in my room. It also was older than the 80’s and made terrible noice and wouldn’t get my tv dinner . Why couldn’t I stay in the front? Why was I stuck in the back with obvious problems. I don’t want anyone to loose their job. But could be more friendly and understanding. No smoke detectors and I was scared to walk around bc it was dark. Phone didn’t work either when I tried the front desk. I’ll never stay there again, I’ll sleep in my car. After $80 , I realize that’s not much money but you should at least feel safe. When I checked in, the lady was nice. The ladies that were there when I checked out were just wow 😮
- Adam (2/5): Don not stay here! - Room was disgusting. Sticky carpets. Nothing cleaned. Drains clogged (sink and toilet) cockroaches were also found. Hopefully we didn’t catch any disease or illness from this establishment.

- Vernon (2/5): Can't be handicapped with a dog - We didn't end up staying. My husband is a double amputy and we have a small dog so when looking for a hotel we look for a handicap accessible room that is pet friendly and are always willing to pay the extra but they waited till we arrived.... hours late stuck behind an accident that they only have one or the other type of room but not both.

- Edna (4/5): Under new management - My family and I traveled over 400 miles for a family reunion. It’s not our first time and usually have a decent experience. However the first room I was given was dirty and still had other people’s belongings . So they moved me to another room that was clean however, roaches started to come out the wall. My sister and I slept in the same bed because of stains on the sheets . So a two night stay turned into a one. I won’t be going back.
- Jennifer (4/5): - This location leaves a lot to be desired. We chose it because of the value and the promise of breakfast included. Breakfast was cereal, bread for toast, some fruit. The coffee was even lukewarm. The worst part was the juvenile roaches crawling in the breakfast area. Palmetto bugs are understandable in the Carolinas, german roaches, not so much. The pool was nice but getting a wristband to wear for 2 days in order to enter the pool was bothersome, as we were in town for a funeral. At one point we were questioned by someone and I had to return to the room for the bands and he returned 3x to check to see if we had them. There is a lot of upkeep that needs to be done on the hotel; stair treads are falling apart and dangerous, bathroom tiles are cracked, the ac unit was draining into the room, leaving the carpet wet. Overall disappointed in the cleanliness and the treatment by the staff.

A nice, clean and quiet place to rest after work. Fishing in the back if hotel was a great plus. Pool was closed due to county regulations changes, but they are working on fixing the issue.
- Joseph (8/5): Nice service - The Red Carpet Inn was the last stop on our three-week trip through the southeast USA. The first room that was assigned to us was being remodeled. When I went back to the office to let the clerk know, she cheerfully assigned us to a different room. There was other work being done around the property, so we didn't stay there very long. My wife left her computer tablet in the first room that we were assigned to. She didn't realize it until the next day and she couldn't remember where she might have lost it. When we checked out, we asked if a tablet had been turned in. We were advised by the desk clerk that none had been turned in. After we returned home, we received a phone call from the property asking if we had been assigned to room 115. I answered that, yes, we had been assigned to that room, but it was being remodeled. The clerk then asked if we were missing anything. I answered affirmatively that we were missing a computer tablet. One of the workers had discovered it in the room that was being remodeled and turned it in at the office. The clerk offered to mail it to us and I offered to reimburse the property for the shipping. Although this wasn't the fanciest property that we stayed in during our trip, we sincerely appreciate the honesty and professionalism of the staff personnel who tracked us down and returned the tablet. Well done to all!

But with all the improvements they also let the TV choices fall by the way side. It's really a shame that neither the cable or satellite companies won't give the local hotels a decent deal. That's the only short coming I had with hotel

- Charles (2/5): Bedsheets Not Even Changed - Do not stay at this place. The room was filthy and it was clear the bed sheets hadn't been changed - the bed had simply been remade after the last guest. It didn't meet the minimum standards of a hotel stay: a clean room with fresh sheet. Horrible!
- Michael (2/5): Stay away from this place - When we arrived after a long drive we found out the TV had no remote control. The office was contacted 3 times and two hours later still no remote. We went to the office and was given a remote that didn’t have a back to it and it didn’t work either. We were told to move to another room so we packed everything up moved to the other room only to find the key didn’t work. We were told that maintenance would come 30 mins later he shows up tries our key and said the battery in the lock was dead so they put us in another room with no remote. The front desk person said they can’t keep people from stealing remotes. They wanted us to move to another room which we said just cancel our reservation and left
- Charles (4/5): Mostly for "Long-Term" Guests - I arrived to multiple people in the courtyard with their few belongings - previous "long term" guests that had been put out. The police were called to have them removed because they continued to make a ruckus well past midnight. The hotel appears to be for long term guests either on their way to rock bottom or making their way back up from there. I don't recommend it for a business trip.

I have no complaints because I had. slim pickings for a hotel with a dog... and this hotel was clean and convenient and inexpensive and available. We got the room that we want it was on the 1st floor, across from the dog park, clean and comfortable. No Complaints...It worked for me it had what I needed everything worked and I was happy! They also had Breakfast on the Go..in a bag! If you like a No frill hotel and it maybe because I had a dog...Great place to Stay!! Will Stay Again!!

The property is in a 5 mile radius of other activities to do in the area and that is also nice. It would have been more convenient with a TV guide for channel surfing. Would visit again.

After going back and forth she finally made new reservations at orbitz price. The air didn’t work and when complaining I was told there was nothing they could do for me.

- Verified traveler (6/5): - You get what you pay for!! The staff was great regarding the check in/out! The room was fairly clean with the exception of the floor; there was dirt near the door. The building itself is had absoulety no installation or soundproofing! I heard everything happening outside. I did have a small dog with me, the biggest reason for stopping here, unfortunately she never really did settle due to the noise. Needless to say between the other guest, vehicles, and my own dog, I managed to get only a few hours of sleep. If your a light sleeper or traveling with an easily distrubed pet, I would suggest paying a little extra to stay elsewhere.
- Gail (2/5): Worst Hotel I've ever reserved!!! - Started out having to do a walk -up check in. Not allowed in lobby. At checkout we were informed that we had to pay an extra $20 fee for our dog which I put on the room inquiry and it said pet-friendly but did not state an upcharge. Got into our non-smoking room with our pet and immediately noticed hairs on the bathroom floor. The door to our room was not flush as if it had been kicked in from the bottom. After examining our room noticed there was no TV channel listing, no guide on TV or instructions on how to operate the multi platforms it presented. Being not in the best of moods we ordered some dinner to be delivered. moved an end table to set food on and found under the table many dead bugs and roaches and spider webs. Pictures to follow. Finished dinner, could not find much on the TV. so we went to bed. Approximately 9:00pm I noticed cigarrette smoke smells coming from the non smoking room next door. Contacted the lobby and some worker came and said that she understood we were upset and said she knew the tenants were smoking and asked if we wanted to change rooms...Are you kidding me at 9:00 pm and with a dog and luggage etc.. I told her she should evict the violators next door and not even ask us to leave or not so great room at that hour. Told her about the bugs and she said she would have housekeeping take care of it? At 9:00 at night? Then we asked about the free continental breakfast and were told we had to order it and sit at an outside picnic table and it would be

When I told the guy at the front desk he just shrugged his shoulders and said hopefully next time you come stay the hot water will work... Won't be a next time. This is not how you treat your guests....

Only problem was the bathroom, tub appeared to have a ring around it and the tile walls had a noticable film on them. We stayed a week and towards the end I noticed the floors had not been vacumed or swept.
- Brian (2/5): Arch out for cigarette burns in a non-smoking room - The bath mat had mold on it and when I stepped in the shower it slipped and I fell and broke my toe and split my shin open. I tried calling the front desk and all that she said was, "do you want me to change the mat out now? " Will not go anywhere near this place again.

- Selena (6/5): You get what you pay for - The shower mat had mildew on it, and the shower curtain had some kind of blue marks in it. I don’t know why a business wouldn’t replace a broken or otherwise damaged or dirty Item when it’s highly visible and not an easy oversight.

- Keyona (6/5): - The hotel was clean, spacious, and had everything I needed. The bed is where I was unhappy!!!! It was a hard king size bed, where the mattress just laid on a wood stand. The stand was wider than the mattress (NO BOX SPRING) so when you walked on either side of the bed you would hit your knee or foot. I stayed 1 night due to my father passing away in Kinston, due to me sobbing and hitting my knee i was frustrated. I am pregnant, the bed was hard.
