• Coco (10/5): Kindly people and friendly place. - One of the main reasons I came to Taiwan was to hike Jiaming Lake, and because the pickup was very early in the morning, I decided to stay one night at this hostel near Chishang train Station. Before arriving, I was a little worried that Chishang might feel too remote, but it turned out to be incredibly convenient. The hostel is less than a 5-minute walk from the station, and there’s a convenience store right next door where I could easily buy snacks and supplies for the hike. The hostel also offers paid luggage storage and showers after hiking, which is perfect for mountain travelers. The host even helped with emergency contact information, which made me feel much more secure as a foreign visitor. Unfortunately, I twisted my ankle on the way down from the mountain. When the host found out, she immediately helped contact a local clinic and even took me there for basic treatment. It honestly made a huge difference. After finally taking a hot shower for the first time in three days and grabbing some Taiwanese fried chicken nearby, I felt completely alive again. On the train ride back to Taipei, I kept thinking how grateful I was for the kindness and help I received here. This trip to Taiwan didn’t just let me see the famous “Angel’s Tear” — it also let me meet people with hearts just as beautiful. A group of young people checked in late at night, and their alarms made me need to use earplugs.

• Jacelynchai (5/5): - The location I'm very sensitive to smell. There is a smell in the room. I was awakened by food in the morning, guessed someone frying food for breakfast in the morning and the smell came into the room. Not sound proof and they do provide ample ear-plug for free. The room is a bit worn out and no window or balcony. If you are looking for a window room, this is not for you. I find that the only thing that I liked about this hotel is the location. Diagonally across the street there is a small cafe owned by an old couple that had great coffee and food.

• Ashley (8/5): Great location. - Excellent location. Super close to the train station. I thought I was going to have to self check-in, but a young woman who was also staying/working there, checked me in. There was no window in the room. Which actually wasn’t as terrible as I first thought as I was only in the room to sleep.

• 大袋鼠 (9/5): 適合1,2個人的旅行，有長輩要住的話比較不建議，因空間較小 - 我訂家庭房，房間環境乾淨，床舖舒服，週邊商店林立，吃的選擇性多樣化且便利性十足， 一打開房門霉味重，雖有除濕機，建議 有客人訂房時可以先打開除濕機除霉味，房間隔音較差，建議房門上面的小窗可以不用透光，不然一有人開外面的門 走廊燈就亮了，房間里的人馬上就知道囉！

• 琬婷 (6/5): 雖然隔音不好，但牆壁有貼九點後請大家安靜的告示，所以九點後真的算蠻安靜的。 - 地點離車站很近 我們住四人房，有上下床鋪的背包客房。睡上鋪的人，因房間桌椅只有一套，所以私人盥洗用具比較不好擺放，想在房間休息一會，需爬上上鋪。公共空間的桌子只有一張。

• 辰倩 (9/5): 池上火車站附近住宿的便宜好選擇！ - 離火車站很近，旁邊就有711， 三樓有洗衣烘衣機可以使用，自助報到很方便，一樓有飲水機，還有一些書可以看！ 內鎖需要磁扣，如果兩位入住分開出門的話，樓上的要下來開內鎖。 屋齡可能較高，很多木造痕跡都還在，房內有看到好幾隻螞蟻。

• Eudora (10/5): Great place to stay, abit of a rustic feel to the room. Price is somewhat higher than other options. - very convenient location, right outside the train station. The place fully self-service on check in and check out, if you need help you can message the staff on line or whatsapp, and they are accommodating to requests. If you are travelling with heavy luggage, do note that you will have to climb stairs to reach your room.

• JUI hsin (8/5): - 自助入住的方式很方便，沒有時間上的限制和壓力，對獨旅且I到爆的我來說非常適合。館內非常乾淨，有提供公用的洗衣機烘衣機，足夠的衛浴和廁所，這次是入住背包客房，床鋪非常舒服不會腰痠背痛，雖然隔音不是太好，但有提供免費的耳塞，整體來說還是睡的蠻好的。 推薦獨旅、爬嘉明湖的大家可以來住看看👍

• 智凱 (10/5): 可以放空放鬆的地方 - 位置很便利，搭車來自駕來都非常方便。 附近景點自行車或步行皆可到 整體很乾淨，設備完善 老闆很親切
• 潘Pan (8/5): - 這次是臨時決定要來一個人旅遊在池上待3晚，可規劃訂房時我算錯時間，少訂一晚非常緊張，管家小姐立即幫我預留位子。除此之外，原本我訂女生宿舍，管家貼心幫我升級成雙人房，讓長住的我不用在雙人鋪爬上爬下，管家想的非常周到跟貼心，即使整個過程都看不到人，但從小細節都可以感受到用心。附近餐飲也算多，咖啡廳走路也能到達，總結來說，推推！！

• 4度C (9/5): 悠閒自在的住宿點 - 自助報到也是挺方便的方式，離火車站也很近，房間跟浴室都很乾淨，退房後也可以寄存行李，晚上算是安靜，可能當天住客都滿自律的。跟對面池上騎點租車，說是民宿客人還有優惠。 二樓wifi好像有時比較不穩定，不過一樓訊號。

• luca (7/5): Positivo - È un ostello con alcune camere singole con servizi in comune. Personale accogliente, tutto molto pulito ma la cameretta è veramente minuscola. Ottima posizione, sulla strada principale a due passi dalla stazione. Chishang è piuttosto cara come alloggi. Questa è la camera singola più economica che ho trovato, e non solo era microscopica, ma pure con le pareti tinteggiate di nero - claustrofobica!

• Wai (7/5): Good - The facilities are ok . No staff will serve you, you have to self check in. However, they will provide a video tutorial on how to check in. The beds are not comfortable, also it's noisy.

• Grace (8/5): Very good - Location was good, really close to the train station and bike rental shops. Late check-in is super easy and they provide detailed instructions and a video to help. The common area and rooms are on the small side, but the decor is nice. Really good value for a place to stay for a night as a base to go biking. The rice fields were absolutely gorgeous in the morning. I don't think I saw a staff member during my time there, which is fine except I usually like to ask for recommendations on where to eat in the area. Definitely a super small issue though since you can also just walk around and find somewhere that's open.
• Kok (6/5): Strategic location, but lower your expectation - The property is located very close to the train station which is 1 minute away. The cleanliness is tip-top, with free use of washing machine and dryer. Bumped into the staff when we went back room to get changed, she was super friendly and very forthcoming in giving recommendations on food and activities. There was no lift available, and the super narrow stairs were very challenging for us with large luggages all the way up to second floor. we were forced to squeeze our bodies with the luggages hardly not hitting our legs. The lights were with motion sensor at night and it was very dark. Please take note of the room size and available moving spaces almost = 0 when you open a luggage on the floor.
• Lungwei (10/5): Exceptional - Quite close to the train station and clean facilities. Could pay for the towels and some toiletries at a low price, which is not too bad!
