- Ian (7/5): lovely property and owners but requires better furnishings - lovely owners, best breakfast they could supply without having a cooker, very quiet i found te bed to be very uncomfortable, damp from shower
- Meddle (10/5): Fabulous stay - A wonderful place. Comfortable, clean, a perfect, peaceful location & excellent facilities. Sally & Chris are perfect hosts. Nothing was too much trouble & everything has been thought of to make a stay memorable. Wonderful! Nothing, it was perfect.
- Jean-rene (9/5): This was an excellent base for our pilgrimage to Walsingham. - The attention to detail was very good. We like the covered area at the end of the house: it was very relaxing to look out over the country side and watch the birds and the odd deer. It would not suit us for a stay of more than 3 days, as there are no cooking facilities. However, it was ideal for a short pilgrimage. We will stay here again.
- Pip (10/5): - I had a lovely few days here - the owners are SO friendly and kind - there for your needs but totally unobtrusive. Would definitely return!
- Anonymous (10/5): relaxing and peaceful - cozy and beautiful
- Karen (10/5): Perfect holiday accomodation - The hospitality and friendliness of the owners, the location and the facilities. There was nothing we didn't like.
- Tracey (9/5): Superb -
- David (10/5): Exceptional - The settings of this accommodation is ideal.
Very quiet and peaceful.
The couple who run it, Sally and Chris are lovely. Very friendly.
Can't do enough for you.
So much to do near by.
We sat outside to eat breakfast. It was perfect.
We were there for our anniversary.
Had a super time. The weather. Lol.
Sally and Chris couldn't do anything about that.
- Alan (9/5): Superb -
- Harris (10/5): Exceptional - The setting, lovely private accommodation and comfortable stay.
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- Martin (10/5): Exceptional - A lovely quiet place near enough to the coast and things to do, but with a feeling of being away from it all. The owners were friendly, and gave all the information needed about what's nearby.
- David (10/5): A great place to stay in a lovely part of the country. - Forty winks was in a delightful location, peaceful and very rural but not far from the attractions of North Norfolk by car. We loved the accommodation. It was full of character and very comfortable. The owners live on site but across the garden and were very friendly and helpful. They provided a continental breakfast which we enjoyed very much. We will certainly try to return there as we have family in the area and it is a perfect base for us. We were there for only two nights but would be happy to stay longer for a holiday.
- Christine (7/5): a very enjoyable stay for a few days. - lovely situation and a very cute property. Sally had equipped the property very well, everything in there equipment wise you could want. unfortunately there is no cooking facilities and no sink apart from in the bathroom. we would of loved it if we could of cooked a breakfast or put together an evening meal.
- Jeremy (10/5): rural idol with a charming little building and super friendly hosts. - lovely quiet rural location with exceptional service and facilities. A charming little building perfect for a family of three. nothing
- Summers (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely location. Friendly owners. Well quipped accommodation. Very clean.
- Nancy (10/5): What a find! Peaceful, private. Lovely hosts. Would recommend without hesitation. - Breakfast choices plentiful and varied Loved everything. A real gem.
- Colin (10/5): Lovely peaceful place, just what we needed - Delightful place to stay and beautiful location. Sally was so helpful. Will definitely be back!! Nothing
- Keith (10/5): Exceptional - The rural solitude, was welcoming and the accommodation was clean homely and comfortable. Our host supplied a hand drawn map, which was easy to follow, for local places, for our main and evening meals. There was nothing I disliked.
- Janet (10/5): Peacefull three nights away recharging our batteries - Lovely little hideaway central to lots of seaside towns with train station ten minutes away countryside location
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Absolutely brilliant, a beautiful quirky, cosy barn in the middle of gorgeous countryside - away from it all but close enough to walk to the local train station or pub. Sally and Chris who own Forty Winks are there if you need them but also leave you to get on too. I can't believe how much there was for breakfast... you would never go hungry staying there! Just a wonderful two nights.. only downside was the stay was too short! We'll def be back as this is a real hidden gem! :)
- Jendon (10/5): - Absolutely wonderful experience, Chris & Sally came out and met us as we arrived, gave us a guided tour of Forty Winks. Lovely converted cart barn into a wonderful place to stay. They were there if we needed them but respected our privacy. Each day the breakfast supplies were topped up, a lovely selection for the fussiest eaters, the crockery was to be left on a tray when you returned from wherever you had been it was back in place clean and ready for use. Chris & Sally has thought of everything you could need for a peaceful break in the countryside. Folders of where to go where to eat etc, a barbecue is supplied if needed. Chris even brought our camera along to where we were for the day (in Cromer) after checkout because we had forgotten it - how about that for service, for which we are most grateful.
We loved it so much we are going back. would recommend to all who are reading this
- mr.daud (10/5): Perfect place for peace and solitude - This is a lovely place in an idyllic location. Wild deers graze in the fields behind and the stars light up the unpolluted night sky.
It's got some great walks with the seaside town of Cromer only 7 mikes away along the Peston way. The coastal walk is great and the small, quiet country roads are flat and great for cycling.
The accomodation is bed and breakfast but has the advantages of self catering being self contained.
The building has been rebuilt from scratch. It feels and looks like an old place but is really modern with good insulation and under-floor heating.
Only snag is the internet which is sluggish at times. A microwave would be a valuable addition.
