Sarah (10/5): - Cosy but large room on top floor. Lovely balcony area to sit out on. No daily service but that was fine. Best location and lovely. Rwanda at at the crown across the street.
Megan (6/5): Very nice - I can’t give a full review as I didn’t stay the night. Worth noting that this property is unmanned, with no owners or staff on site. The setup felt more like a hostel which is worth knowing before you arrive. It is in a great location though with stunning rooms which were spotlessly clean. Lilija was great at communicating and I appreciated her helping me.
Cynthia (10/5): - A very comfortable lodging above a store in Glastonbury. A beautiful secret garden entrance and easy shopping. Everything is very quiet at night with the town closing down early. There was parking close by and we walked everywhere the whole time we were there. Lilija on staff was kind and helpful.

It was a little noisy during the day (music shop below which played loud music all day, at night the assembly rooms played music for most of the night - fantastic if you come to party! The facilities were excellent. It was lovely and clean. Everything was within walking distance. Just a little loud for small children.

Room was spacious and clean. Bed was firm and comfortable. Excellent shower. Bottled water, tea and coffee provided. Good value for money including breakfast voucher at the Crown Hotel. Would thoroughly recommend this property.

Kathy (10/5): A wise choice! :) - This was a fantastic place to stay. It is in the center of town, so convenient to shops and restaurants. The room (tufted owl) was spacious and very clean. It had a private bathroom (with a shower). It does not have air conditioning, but had large windows and a fan and I was comfortable in mid-July even as a person who sleeps hot. There is a private (for all guests) patio/courtyard with flowers and seating, and an upstairs terrace with a view of the Tor!!! Also, it is near the old Glastonbury abbey ruins and bus stop. The breakfast was good as well, and there is a small kitchen with everything you'd need if you didn't want to go out for a meal. I highly recommend this place.

MICHAEL (8/5): Good for many - A lovely stay. No elevator so best for people who are light packers. Breakfast is at a neighboring hotel. I ate there twice and the food was quite good. Getting into the 8 Owls is not the most reassuring experience (you are sent a code, no one is at the entrance and if you arrived later at night it could be spooky. Parking is two blocks away.

My main complaint is that it's noisy -- from the street below, the meeting hall next door, and the adjoining rooms (thin walls). Also, there's no elevator, and the stairs up are narrow and steep.

Chris (8/5): A good find. - Having read a few previous reviews wasn’t sure what to expect. Some said stairs were awful. Both me and my wife found the stairs fine. But anyone with restricted mobility may struggle. . Room spotlessly clean. Breakfast voucher in room to be used at local pub. Voucher value is £15pp. Full breakfast is £13.95. Then drinks are extra. So you end up paying a bit extra which isn’t made clear when you book. There are cheaper options on menu though.

Lilija informed us very well with regards to checking in and parking facilities, which are very close by. The breakfast in The Crown over the road was lovely as were the staff. GrahamM437 (4/5): Didn't like breakfast arrangements - The B&B itself was managed remotely with no on-site presence. Access codes were provided via mail for some gates and doors and, not reading the email properly, I struggled to gain access for a while. The room itself was clean and pleasantly decorated however traffic noise was a little intrusive at times. Excellent shower and the building had a communal refrigerator with fresh milk which was a pleasant change from the usual little cartons of foul white liquid provided for tea and coffee at such establishments. I didn't like the breakfast arrangements. We were provided with vouchers for an hotel about 70 metres down the road. The vouchers we had were for £15 each and the cost of a full breakfast was £13.95 so we had to pay extra to get a cup of tea. If I book bed and breakfast I don't expect to have to pay extra for a cup of tea so this was extremely annoying, not the cost just the principle of having to pay extra! Breakfast itself was generally pretty good. No gluten free bread for my wife which was quite shameful in such a place. Mushrooms soaked in extra virgin olive was odd for an English breakfast, a bit like having croissant with baked beans for breakfast in France. Overall generally disappointing. Wouldn't choose 8 Owls again.

Barbara (10/5): Fabulous - can’t wait to return - Exceeded our expectations. Spotlessly clean, fantastic facilities, and a fabulous welcome. We stayed in Tufted Owl overlooking the High Street - a bit ‘rumbly’ if a big vehicle went past, but there’s very little traffic in town at night. The noise didn’t affect me at all. Beds were really comfortable and the breakfast was over at The Crown (we were given a breakfast card each) which was amazing. We’re definitely coming back.

Points to note, there's stairs to the room (2 flights) as you're on the high street near the pubs and monument there is noise at night, as you'd expect from the location.

The allowance barely covers the cost of breakfast, meaning that if you want tea or coffee then you have to pay extra. The arrangement itself is fine, its just the value of the allowance should at least cover 'breakfast'.

We had everything we needed in the kitchen and the living space is well sized for us to all spend time in and for two teenage daughters to sleep in with a really comfy bed for us. Will be back again I'm sure.

Jill (6/5): - The property itself was cute. However it’s right off a small courtyard and the master bedroom has windows right at the courtyard wall. There’s a public hall that holds events and a party was held in the courtyard right outside our window well into the night. People stand right at the window, impossible to sleep, can hear entire conversations. There’s no front desk at all so no human interaction and there’s no convenient parking. We knew about the parking but it’s the location that would turn us off from staying again.

214cathyh (6/5): Quirky, brutal stairs, but clean and comfortable right in town. - This is a nice, bijou type of place, but not for anyone with limited mobility, as the STAIRS, OMG. But it is clean and comfortable, seems safe, and is endearingly quirky, which is a good fit for incense soaked Glastonbury. It is right on High St., in the old part of town, next to the Abby, and awash in old old old buildings with lots of shops, and did I mention the incense? BUT, the restaurant the proprietress is using for your breakfasts (the Crown, down the street) is terrible. Crappy service, and a very limited selection of only mediocre foods. Why, we could not even get a pot of tea. In England! For our second morning, we left the vouchers and paid for decent brekkie elsewhere. Tin Pot Pasty's across from Town Hall was awesome! And very bizarre: my sister made the reservations, for the 4 of us with 2 rooms, and on our second night, commented that she wasn't sure if the owners had asked for a credit card. We all supposed that she must have, who wouldn't? Well, that very night, as we were all undressing and getting ready for bed, comes a pounding on the door. The sister answers in her underwear, thinking it is our friends, (who else would it be?) and it's the landlord demanding the rent!!!! What a SHAME, (wink wink) she did not have the capability to use our cards for payment right then, so we all had to scramble and gather enough CASH to cover our stay. Are you kidding me? My sister got the email with the deets for getting into the locks for the B&B, no mention of payment. I don't know where the breakdown in communication was, but this was most unsettling! In any case, this is a sweet little B&B, except for the breakfast part, but do make sure you get payment taken care of up front! If it wasn't for the less than satisfactory breakfast, I would have given it 4 stars, even with the late night payment shake down.

Right in the middle of the town, with easy access to everything Glastonbury has to offer. Breakfast in the pub over the road was amazing and so good that we went to the same place for dinner and we weren't disappointed. Highly recommended for a short break. We will be back.

The 8 Owls itself was very well conceived. Each room (I peeked at others) were all generous in size and the conveniences were nice (a shared kitchen) and a refrigerator for everyone to use. The owl theme throughout was tastefully done. I like that we had bottled water and could make tea or coffee in our room. My only suggestion would be ice buckets for the guests to use (I didn't find any). Other than that I would say the place is perfect!
Julian (10/5): Nice Stay In The Heart of Glastonbury - A really nice place..... in the heart of Glastonbury. Excellent communication when booking and on the day, with access details provided. Room was clean, bed was comfortable and enjoyed a beer on the communal roof terrace.

Maria (6/5): Lacking the personal touch - Mixed feelings about this stay. The cottage was quirky but on arrival was a bit musty as cottages can be. Lack of communication from hotel beforehand meant we weren't prepared for public parking away from the building and having to make numerous journeys to unload and reload car despite mobility issues. Additionally, breakfast vouchers not mentioned in correspondence and looked like business cards on the marketing leaflets area meant that we paid £180per night for 3 nights and still had to pay for breakfast (except on the last morning after questioning the host again over the phone) No meet and greet/welcome just email the day before arrival with key codes. Took negotion even to get an extra towel. Felt a bit like we'd been given hostel style service despite paying much more than hostel prices. Having the only outside seating facing straight into the lounge was quite unnerving, so much so that the blinds stayed down most of the time rather than be the entertainment felt like we were in a goldfish bowl. Shame really as it tainted the experience. Would have been much nicer if there had been human welcome and clearer communication.
