• Noemie (10/5): Very nice place for family stay - Le lieu est vraiment très agréable, seulement 14 bungalows donc très familial et calme. Les 2 restaurants (sur site et au bord de la mer) sont supers, le staff est très sympa, la piscine propre et agréable, il y a des jeux pour enfants, ... Séjour vraiment super en famille ! Ivana, la responsable, est très attentionnée et vraiment super !
• Yvette (10/5): - Great little resort run by capable management. My friend was experiencing digestion problems, and was immediately provided with tablets (also possible Dr. consultation). Of course it helped resolve the issues. Taxi rides to and from airport, to excursions arranged by the resort, any questions, problems answered within minutes. Breakfast buffet style is varied and plentiful (any style eggs, also ask for "crepes", delicious treat with Nutella). We also had dinner at the resort every night, they have a good chef. I rented a paddleboard couple of times, enjoyed my time on the water.

• Reinhold (8/5): Eine Empfehlung wert! - Tolles kleines Resort mit sehr gutem Restaurant. Schöne Bungalows, mit Sitzgelegenheiten davor, sind um den Pool angeordnet. Zum Strand, mit hoteleigenen Liegen, geht's über einen sandigen Weg durch ein großzügiges Gelände. Hier gibt es ebenfalls ein Restaurant/Bar. Das Personal ist sehr zuvorkommend und inspirierend freundlich, einfach klasse! Wir waren gerne dort. Der Meeresstrand fällt sanft ab, zum Schwimmen muss man weit raus!

• Requlle (8/5): We enjoyed our 8-night stay, it was amazing and peaceful. - The beach was amazing; We enjoyed the breakfast; but maybe twice in the week you can throw piece of meat or sausage would have been nice. We really enjoyed the snack menu like the Quesadillas/ wraps and chicken wings/ chicken fingers. I like the way they fried their chips and make rice. Dinners we actually had pizza and the snack menu again. Amazing staff, they are funny and very friendly. Lameck and his staff and housekeeping Janet are the best. We didn't like that they don't have spices, please invest in BBQ SPICE, CHILLI SPICE ECT. We are from South Africa and we love spice lol.
• Alexandra (10/5): Cosy little resort with a wonderful team - We had a really really really nice time with our nearly 3 year old daughter. The resort is small and quiet, exactly what we needed, and perfect especially for little kids. There is a cute play area by the big restaurant, we had wonderful moments when our daughter just went off there and we had minutes of peace to enjoy dinner😄the pool area is very nice, with a shallow section for kids and lots of toys. There is also a little playground between hotel and the lake, everything within 2 minutes - what else can you wish for. We had a full board, which had breakfast and dinner at the resort and lunch at the beach restaurant, with the food being really nice. It’s hard to find words especially to thank Ivana and the whole team who made us feel really cared for, after two weeks honestly it was hard to leave them. Ivana really took care to help us with all the little things we needed every now and then, despite the busy season with lots of tourists. All the team is just wonderful, they are always there happy to help you, and we were happy to get to know every one of them. That we had to leave

• Noemi (6/5): Overpriced for what offers - Staff is really something I will remember.. so gentle, nice and always available when we needed help. Breakfast buffet is abundant, very good, with loads of fruit and you can ask for fresh omelette. Off-site excursions are organized by one of the best teams I could ever meet. Good guards are in place at the beach to avoid stress from local vendors. Air conditioner and fan are a very plus against the heat. Towels and sunbeds provided for free at the beach. Available a wide area for kids next to the main restaurant bar. Taxis are nearby if you want to explore other parts of Zanzibar. The structure is fair, we expected more considering the high price. Rooms are dark, very small, furniture is old and sometimes not so clean. Flush needs to be repaired for good. Restaurant is good, but a little expensive compared to other beach restaurants nearby. Stray cats meowing all along around tables while you eat is a no-go. The 'Entertainment' they state is poor (especially for young people) and weekly repetitive. I have seen better entertainment directly on the beach from locals. No entertainment organized at the beach, like water gym, windsurfing, jet ski, etc. Organization of the place is also poor: there is no dedicated office for excursions, there is no mini-market inside. Even for essentials, you have to go outside. Coffee is very bad, compared to other structures in Kiwengwa. Water - as all Kiwengwa - is salty in your bathroom.

• Ortwin (8/5): - 7 schöne Doppelbungalows mit etwas harten Betten und einer eigenen möblierten Terrasse die im Halbkreis um den Pool und das Zentralgebäude mit Restaurant gebaut sind. Sehr private und ruhige Atmosphäre mit einem großen Privatstrand mit einem weiteren Restaurant den man über eine Straße vor dem Hotel erreicht. Wer Ruhe und Entspannung sucht wird sich hier sicher wohl fühlen, wer die volle Animation mit vielen Gästen und Kampf um die Liegen braucht, wird enttäuscht sein. Das Frühstücksbuffet war lecker und frisch, abends kann man dem Koch an der offenen Küche zuschauen, wie er die Speisen lecker und liebevoll zubereitet. Beim Abendessen gab es immer eine Auswahl zwischen Fleisch, Fisch oder vegetarisch mit Vorspeise und Nachtisch nach Wahl. Der Strand ist flach und sehr schön, jedoch gibt es heftige Unterschiede zwischen Ebbe und Flut, so dass man je nach Strandzeit auch mal kein Wasser am Strand hat. Aber keine Sorge, es kommt wieder zurück. Insgesamt ein gelungener Traumurlaub bei freundlichen Gastgebern. Die Klimaanlage ist im Hauptschlafzimmer, im zweiten Schlafzimmer ist keine Klimaanlage, was die gleichmäßige Temperatureinstellung für die Nacht bei mehr als zwei Personen etwas schwierig gestaltet.

Hyggelig bassengområde ved rommene/resepsjon/restaurant, og tilhørende beach-restaurant og privat strand kun 1 minutt gange unna. Fantastisk personale; hyggelige, hjelpsomme, smilende. God mat i begge restauranter, deilig frokostbuffet. Egentlig ingenting. AC på vårt rom var ikke den mest effektive, og det er ikke luksuriøst på rommene, men rent og ryddig.

• Beatrice (9/5): - Il Kiwengwa Bungalow Boutique Resort è il posto perfetto per chi vuole vivere Zanzibar in massimo relax, con autenticità locale e senza troppe pretese. Il rapporto qualità prezzo è eccezionale per il servizio che si riceve e il personale e i gestori sono gentilissimi e pronti a soddisfare ogni richiesta. Il ristorante sulla spiaggia è buono, ha una vasta scelta di piatti e prezzi adeguati. Per le escursioni il resort si appoggia a un’agenzia esterna professionale che può organizzare tutti i tour includendo il pick up. Lo consiglio davvero a chi vuole vivere Zanzibar in modo autentico e non troppo lussuoso, senza rinunciare però a un’ottima qualità e un buon servizio. In alcuni punti il Wi-Fi non funziona alla perfezione

Staff super disponibile e accogliente! Beach bar ottimo per pranzi e cocktail in spiaggia! Colazione ricca e preparata al momento. Unica pecca (ma che per noi non è stato un problema) é che il wifi non era funzionante per un giorno intero. A volte di sera saltava la corrente, ma poco dopo tornava, non causando problemi. La camera dove abbiamo soggiornato era pulita, ma ad esempio la rubinetteria era un po’ arrugginita/con calcare, la porta del bagno non si chiudeva bene. Ma per noi personalmente non è stato un disagio.

• Alison (9/5): - The staff went out of their way to help you, they were all very friendly and happy, and could not do enough for you. The room was cleaned every day, the pool was always spotless and we felt safe & very lucky to have stayed there. The beach was lovely and the buffet breakfast was very varied and delicious. The bungalow was smaller than I thought. It was also quite a long way from any tours and so a lot of long taxi journeys.

Trinkwasser ausreichend zum Nachfüllen steht bereit. WIFI die meiste Zeit überall, selbst am Strand erreichbar. Im Bungalow war nur ein Stuhl. Das Licht war eher ein Dämmerlicht, statt richtig hell. Insbesondere auf der Terrasse war es nicht möglich, nach Sonnenuntergang zu lesen oder zu schreiben.

Il y avait bien deux chambres, mais l'inconvénient nous devons passé dans la première chambre pour aller dans la deuxième chambre. Pas de porte a la première chambre. Lorsque nous ouvrons la porte d'entrée, on arrive directement dans la chambre. Lorsque nous partons à deux couples, manque d'intimité.

Lækker pizza i Beach baren. Hyggeligt børnehjørne med tegnegrej og spil, og legeplads på stranden. Sengene noget hårde og WiFi lidt ustabilt.

• Angela (8/5): - Das umfangreiche Frühstücksbuffet, die fußläufige Strandlage mit Strandhandtüchern, Liegen und schattenspendenden Sonnenschutz. Die Anlage ist dank Mr Brown sehr gepflegt und sauber! Leider gab es nur wenige Möglichkeiten lokale Gerichte in der Anlage und außerhalb zu essen. Das Bett war sehr hart, aber besser als zu weich!

C’était un plaisir d’être à leur côtés durant chaque jours de nos vacances. Le petit déjeuné est copieux et la nourriture est bonne. La piscine est agréable et la plage est à 2 minutes à pieds. Les chambres sont humides lié au climat tropical de Zanzibar et le matelas un peu dur.

Le personnel est d une gentillesse incroyable, toujours attentionné et soucieux de vous faire plaisir. La chambre toujours nettoyée de façon impeccable et mention spéciale pour janette qui tous les matins avait un sourire incroyable et remplie de petites attentions. Le restaurant est excellent et mention spéciale aussi au chef qui fait une cuisine raffinée. Le personnel de la plage aussi est très très attentionné. Merci également à sa manager qui est présente et prête à vous aider . On se sent vraiment bien et paisible . Un grand merci à toute l équipe pour nous avoir fait passer un excellent séjour.

Purtroppo e mi dispiace davvero tanto dirlo l'insistenza dei beach boys in spiaggia. Quasi nn ti fanno fare vacanza. Anche se nn possono entrare nella spiaggia privata insistono, ti chiamano. Ci dovrebbe essere una regola non possono stressare così i turisti..parlo di quelli che vendono non di quelli che fanno gli spettacoli.

• Traveller783012674 (5/5): Basic not boutique, overpriced for what you get - Pros - very quiet atmosphere; felt very safe; comfortable verandah with couches at each bungalow; line for hanging wet beach clothes/laundry outside; air con and ceiling fans in room; big king size bed with firm mattress (my preference). Food was reasonably priced (for Zanzibar) if you do a la carte - the half/full board option wouldn't suit me, would probably be good for families though. The private beach area was well maintained and a blessing to be protected from the disgusting "beach boys" harassment and sexual inuendo / constant attention seeking. Beach was very clean and daily cleaned / maintained by the staff. Ability to refill water bottles daily for free. Pool was very clean but time of year meant it wasn't warm enough for me to swim, so didn't try it. Fly screens on windows in the bungalow a huge plus. Staff weren't pushy about booking activities/tours as they can be at other hotels. Cons - Room is very very basic especially for the price range (A$240/nt), without things a "resort" would usually have e.g. robes/slippers, bathroom amenities, nice soap, vanity kit, shower cap, iron /ironing board, mini bar etc. Maybe I was paying high season pricing? Bathroom and floor tiles in need of cleaning and/or replacement. Also oddly only a sheet on the bed, no blanket. They provided one immediately when requested, but it was just a quilt no cover and smelled like it hadn't been washed for a while. Got gastro more than once and this is after 2+ months travelling in Africa, not new to the cuisine. Some staff super friendly but most spent more time on phones or chatting to each other. The place was nearly empty (max 2 other bungalows filled) for most of my stay, so they weren't rushed off their feet. Also found it odd that the owner + friends permanently reserved a table in the dining room and ate meals at the same time as guests, but never spoke to or interacted with guests; haven't experienced that before after travelling to 30+ countries and having worked in the industry. The in between - like everywhere in Tanzania there were short power cuts, that's life. Also the wifi was average, but who comes to the beach to sit on their phone?! The beach is a few mins walk away, across a road, not a hassle at all but some might be bothered by this, also no rooms with ocean view (didn't bother me at all). There's no gym, just some random equipment by the beach, but didn't bother me either. Food service is incredibly slow for lunch/dinner (like 1hr wait for a bowl of pasta), but experienced this many other places in Kenya & Tanzania, no big deal. Overall I'd suggest this place has potential with renovations, staff education and price reductions.

• LaColorada (7/5): Hotel con hermosa playa - Muy linda la zona de playa y la piscina. El bar de la playa está bien servido y tiene buena comida y jugos. Tiene una zona con mesa de pool, libros y juegos que mis hijos apreciaron mucho. Muy buena la cena africana con show de Masai. El manager del hotel deja mucho que desear, por suerte el resto del personal (sobre todo el del bar de la playa) son muy alegres y disponibles. Las habitaciones son muy oscuras y con mala iluminación. El servicio de masajes es de muy bajo nivel.

• Luca (8/5): - The fact that they had their own secure beach entry without being directly on the beach front. the beach bar/restaurant was well stocked with good food and drinks. The Resort restaurant was really good as well. Some of the vendors along the beach , mainly the "fake maasai" were a bit too intrusive with some of the young ladies tanning. A better watch/guard is probably needed to avoid some ( not all) clients to get annoyed.

The restaurant was excellent, with delicious food every time. A special thank you to Ivana, the manager, who does an outstanding job to make sure everything runs so well. I truly enjoyed my time here and would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Zanzibar

• George (10/5): Best African resort we have been to. ..... including others in Zanzibar - Too little space to say how good this place is. It is perfect. Great for kids. Staff are fantastic. Food excellent. Beach is clean and ideal with a Beach Bar for snacks and drinks. The Manager is truly excellent in his customer service and dealt with any little issue promptly and more than satisfactorily. Usually after 5 days somewhere I want to move on. Not from here. There can be nowhere better. All was very good

La comida está buenísima. No puedo decir más que buenas palabras. Un abrazo a todo el staff porque es genial!! No haberme quedado un año.
