• Edith (9/5): - Klein, aber fein. Vor allem das Bad ist superschön. Alles da, was man braucht. Das Zimmer und die Eingangstür sind ebenerdig, aber ich hab mich sehr sicher gefühlt. Wenn man frische Luft braucht, einfach in oder vor die geöffnete Tür in den ruhigen Innenhof setzen. Und preislich für eine alleinreisende Person akzeptabel.
• Eva (10/5): - A great accommodation! The location is right in the old centre, in a lovely little 'claustro' for which Altamura is famous. Excellent value for money. Having read the reviews, I was a bit worried about getting in touch with the owner. However, in my case, the owner was easy to contact and very helpful. I highly recommend the place.

Il signore che lavora per la struttura mi ha dato l'indirizzo di un Bar per la colazione che era chiuso nell'orario che avevo bisogno nonostante lo avessi avvisato il giorno prima e chiesto se avevano un'altra soluzione. Quindi, mi sono svegliato presto, sono andato al bar e l'ho trovato chiuso. È stata veramente l'unica pecca, per tutto il resto sono molto soddisfatto.

• Caroline (1/5): We never experienced Il Claustro and we didn’t really like Altamura which is undergoing building renovations everywhere - Sadly we never got to stay in il claustro because the plumbing broke. So we were given a very dreary but clean room around the corner. N/a
• Laura (5/5): I’d probably stay somewhere else - The property itself was ok, bit of a tight squeeze but as I was planning of just sleeping there it was ok. The room doesn’t have a window, just two very small windows on the stairwell, and there is no curtains so it was a little bright in the mornings, but luckily I had a eye mask and I managed to sleep ok. I didn’t like the exchanges I had with the host. First of all, once I arrived I couldn’t get the key because the key padlock outside the property was jammed. He said he’d be there “in 3 min” (quoting) and he arrived after 20. Then, I had asked him well in advance on the booking app about parking and I had to ask again before getting a reply. I parked at the parking he suggested and I asked him again in person if it was free (it was Saturday past 6pm) and if I had to worry about the day after (Sunday) and he said that it was all good. The day after I found a parking fine, as it was free just after 9pm. I don’t want to take away any personal responsibility for my car but I am not from there (I live in the UK) and the sign was not clear to me, and since I did ask a few times about where and how to park my car and he, being my sole point of contact, could have done more. Moreover, when I talked to him about the fine he replied with a voice note on WhatsApp yelling “miss I am not a parking attendant and you can read a sign”. That was all. That was the whole of his reply from host to customer. I found the whole interaction not professional and sloppy, and the conversation pretty grim on his side.

Tuttavia, la decorazione floreale superflua occupa spazio prezioso che potrebbe essere utilmente impiegato come superficie d’appoggio.

• Kirk (10/5): Charming cloister-like room in old city. - Great stopover on first night in Italy. Charming cloister-like room off old city lane. Good signage. Very hospitable and accommodating host. Quick walk to open market and cathedral. Room is small and there is no place to sit comfortably beside on the bed.
• Luca d'Aloja 1974 (3/5): Struttura decorosa, ma gestita in modo pessimo - Posizione eccellente, centralissimo. Descrizione della stanza non corrispondente. In dettaglio, nella prenotazione era indicata la presenza di un letto matrimoniale e di un letto singolo (90 cm x 130 cm). In realtà, il letto singolo non era presente affatto. E' stato proposto in alternativa un letto da aggiungere ("scomodo", a detta del gestore stesso) a patto di riassettare il matrimoniale in modo parziale come se fosse un singolo, o ancora di dividere il matrimoniale in 2 letti singoli impedendo una qualunque possibilità di movimento. A fronte della lamentela sollevata, il gestore continua a sostenere di aver accettato la prenotazione per 2 persone, pertanto non ritiene fondamentale la presenza di un terzo letto. Gli ospiti non sono una coppia e non intendevano dormire insieme e questa esigenza sarebbe stata soddisfatta da una stanza pagata per le caratteristiche riportate in descrizione e prenotazione. Lo staff non è in grado di gestire il check in in modo professionale. Le indicazioni fondamentali non vengono fornite. La colazione, per esempio, è offerta in struttura esterna convenzionata (dettaglio non precisato in prenotazione) e non viene detto agli ospiti appena arrivati. I documenti vengono chiesti attraverso una foto inviata per telefono mentre gli ospiti sono in passeggiata. Infine, dettaglio non trascurabile, la gestione delle esigenze degli ospiti, di fronte alla rilevazione di mancanze oggettive, è fatta con supponenza e grande arroganza. In conclusione, struttura decorosa, ma gestita in modo davvero pessimo.

A beautiful and cosy place in the historic center, peaceful and quiet, designed with love and well equipped- we had a wonderful stay at Il claustro.

• Robert (7/5): Nice location, steep stairs, breakfast offsite. - This was a unique property in the center of the historic part of town. We booked this property just a couple of hours before we arrived, so what we liked was location, price, and availability. The stairs were moderately steep and, if it was noted to have stairs, I missed that in the description. This could be an issue for someone with mobility problems. This was described as a bed and breakfast, but there was not on site breakfast what they offered was coffee and a pastry at coffee shop a few blocks away.

• Naomi (9/5): Quiet, spotless haven, close to everything. - After traveling for 9 hours I arrived late on a public holiday around 11pm. The host gave me a larger room, as there was no key for the room I booked. Very professional, to look after tired guests! Il Claustro is in a fantastic location, minutes from the centre of Altamura, yet very quiet. The room was spotless, beautifully designed and I appreciated the kettle with tea and coffee sachets provided. After a month travelling in Italy it was wonderful to find crystals and candles in the room, perfect for meditation. Lovely. I thought my room had a private patio so it was disappointing to discover, in fact, the patio is shared with all guests. Still, it's a lovely place, with plants and a shaded area. Every detail in the room is beautiful, except for paper cups! I don't know why the host doesn't provide proper cups to go with the kettle and spoons, instead of wooden sticks?! No other complaints.

Re the accommodation is comfortable but perhaps shower could be updated. Breakfast is coffee and croissant.

Everything you need for a short stay. Complimenti, Vittoria! Our friends who had the ground floor room would have liked to have blinds to make the room dark at night (there is a light in the charming courtyard that troubled their sleep). Ours (with the balcony) had shutters and was fine.
