Guest Reviews
- Vince (4/5): POOR VALUE - WARNING - This location will take a $250 deposit per stay and return it after your departure BUT can take more than 24 days for the deposit return.
The pool at this facility is very small and 3 feet deep so very limited for workouts. If you like to sleep in this is not possible beyond 8 am due to the neighboring construction noise. This construction will go on for at least another 12 months. Cleanliness is OK but not thorough as I had to wash things to be sure. I found light fixtures that did not work, a bathtub that did not drain and many other defects at this location. Kitchen pots and pans were "garage sale quality".
Check in is very difficult as I had to wait outside for over 1 hour after keeping in contact with personnel the entire day AND upon landing at LAX. Very poor check in services that is not reliable to their word with many excuses for their delays.
I had an issue with the TV that was resolved quickly as the person lives on site to help. I'm not sure what happened with my check in and the long wait if they were on site. Very strange.
- TEDD (4/5): BEWARE - The suites,I can’t call a suite, their is no swimming pool! This photo was taken from across the street from a hotel. This is an apartment building.
PelicanStay has leased units that they rent through hotels.com. There is not an actual entry! You have to call a guy who let’s you in the building.
The unit has bare concrete floors, this like prison cell. DON’T STAY HERE
- Iriel (10/5): Do it it’s worth it - Great place ! Hi there
- Jiro (10/5): Good for short stay for business and pleasure - This place is very convenient for short stay in LA . Kitchen is clean and there are Japanese super market near apartments. Washer and Dryer in a room. Quiet . Best for business and pleasure .
- Solomon (2/5): Why is this place listed on hotels.com?? - From the photos of this property you are made to believe this place is a top-notch place. We were sadly mistaken. Check-in was pretty smooth and the place does look nice but that’s where it ends.
Things go down hill from there. They have a note stating not to go down to the lobby to request any help, call a specific number for assistance. That alone should have thrown up a red flag.
Our unit didn’t have a shower curtain installed in it, which is not cool for a place that is charging as much as this place does. When we called to request assistance, you are jumping through hoops just to get a response. We were told they would drop off a shower curtain. Over 24hrs past and no shower curtain arrived, so we call again. We got an apology and still had to wait another 8hrs for them to attempt to complete our request. The worst part is they are so incompetent they drop off a mattress liner and not a shower curtain. After complaining about that, it wasn’t until we were leaving to check out, we see at the front door that they dropped off the shower curtain we requested at the beginning of our stay without any shower rings to hang up the curtains, which defeats the purpose.
Hotels.com wasn’t any real help to resolve solution, all they did was give us a credit to use towards a future booking. Hotels.com needs to do a better job vetting businesses that want to advertise on their platform. Experiences like these make you never want to use this app in the future. Please do better.
- Simone (10/5): - The property was as described - in a great location. The onsite manager for Pelican Stays was very responsive and helpful
- Francisco (8/5): Good - The place is Comfortable Easy I really like the place the only problem I found is the cleaning I was dirty and garbage on the place wen I get there I I have to use the same towels and buy my on toilet paper which if I have tell that won’t be a problem otherwise I like the place I will definitely use this place again
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The Supervisor Nikita was amazing with her knowledge of the property and her ability to verbally navigate me through the neighborhood. Also Nikita was immediately responsive to inquires. This property is convenient to all things downtown L.A. and easily accessible to all freeways/highways. L.A. area friends visited me and approve my review! I would absolutely stay at this property site again.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Is hard to find. I was at the lobby for an hour I never got the code for the door. It was getting dark and we end it up leaving since is not a safe area.
- Demitry (8/5): Would stay again - Good modern condo, was clean with free parking in downtown area. There’s construction next door that might get a little loud. Roof top pool area has a nice view for a good relaxing time.
- Terie haynes (10/5): Happy 😆 - Great stay worth it
- Penelope (8/5): Nice apartment bad location - Glad we had security at this place. The apartment is nice and very roomy with two bathrooms. I was annoyed by a flat battery in the smoke detector beeping every 20 seconds. The girl tried to tell me “it just does that”. No it does not. There was an attempted to fix it on day two but by that time I’d lost a nights sleep so I went and bought one and replaced it myself. Check in very sketchy. Don’t use Los Angeles street entrance. Very dodgy. Use Main Street entry only. One block makes a difference in this area. Our first time in the USA feeling unsafe.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Customers should be advised prior to rental that the apartment is right on a construction site (work starts at 7.30 am incl Saturdays). I had to scrub the dirty dishes upon arrival and the whole of the apartment was actually not very clean. Check-in people were friendly though and the rental is located next to Union Station, which makes is easy for visitors who don't have a car.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - I booked and payed for a room that sleeps four people with city views! I recieved a room on the 2nd floor that looked like it was rushed and not professionally cleaned! The city views were of the building site next door that had just been demolished.
The building itself and location was good, but I was surprised that I recieved this booking through Expedia!
- Verified traveler (2/5): Not luxury at all - Room not clean hair in bathroom drawers dust balls in the corners . The contact person was not helpful or professional the non smoking room smelled like weed
To check out you leave the key in the room but you need the key fob to get out of the building I want do anymore apartment rentals because of this experience and let’s not forget the construction next door that no one ever mentioned
- Chelsea (10/5): - Absolutely amazing. Things didn't look so good at first, as we had a lot of trouble getting in touch with someone to check us in and we were waiting outside for about half an hour, but once that was resolved there were no other issues to speak of. The room was gorgeous and spacious. We had all access to the pool, the gym, grills, everything. The kitchen was well equipped. It was perfect for our family of 5
- Verified traveler (2/5): No customer service - First, beware their cancellation policy; the dates for cancellation had already passed prior to my booking date so if plans change you lose everything. First off they make you wait in a parking lot that you must pay for across the street, then take you to the correct one; no one can use the bathroom at night without waking everyone else up because the door creaks so loudly; they will not provide toilet paper if you run out because "they run out of supplies sometimes"; the neighbor upstairs paces back and forth all night stomping loudly; heavy construction begins outside the window at 7a; this is in an actual apartment building with a leasing agent, not a private residence; and finally they charge a cleaning fee in the fine print all the way at the bottom of the booking page, which for a two-night stay makes it much more expensive than any four-star hotel around it.
- Alexis (10/5): - Very good service and good ppl
- Tony (6/5): - It was kinda frustrating trying to meet with them to pick up the keys to our room for the weekend. Checked in with the employee and she took us to our room and the house keeper was eating in our uncleaned room. They changed us to another room fine. Then when we had to leave you need the key to go down the elevator but need to lea 've key on counter
- leslie (4/5): cool place BUT our shower drain was plugged - It’s new apartment, centrally located in downtown LA with amazing furnishing & beautiful rooftop pool deck. Everything was great until we tried to shower & realize the drainage was not working properly or at all in the bathtub. This happened on day1 of our 3nights there. The issue wasn’t even resolved or followed up after we addressed the issue. We had to shower with a clogged bathtub... that was filled up to our shin with dirty water. Pretty unacceptable circumstances that we had to endure for 3nights.
