- Victoria (9/5): Beautiful Riverside Stay with Stunning Mountain Views - We very much enjoyed our stay at Lee’s Boutique Resort. The hotel is located about 10 minutes from the park entrance, and the views from the rooms are beautiful—overlooking the river, with the Avatar mountains visible in the distance when the fog clears. The rooms are spacious and fully finished in wood, which gives them a warm, authentic feel. We had a room with a balcony, and it was especially nice to be able to step out and take in the scenery. The staff was very welcoming, and while not everyone speaks English, some team members communicate well enough to make things easy. Breakfast is ordered in advance, with a good variety of dishes to choose from. Overall, we would definitely recommend staying at this hotel. Nothing to mention here.

- Pascale (10/5): Lovely place in front of the river - Fantastic place in front of the river. The rooms are just waouw (we had a from in front of the river with a balcony). Night market is accessible with a 20minutes walk along the river, which is illuminated at night. Breakfast is delicious and with a lot of choice. Service is perfect. We would have loved to stay more than one night.

- Gerald (10/5): Highly recommend - great location, service, breakfast - Really great and friendly service, staff were always polite and helpful, and provided recommendations on how to shape our itinerary and arranged for tickets and car transfers. Location was really central and convenient, walking distance to a lot of restaurants and shops and also close to the East gate of the park. Breakfast was always delicious and abundant. We were upgraded and our room was huge, with a lovely view overlooking the river and mountains in the distance. All in all, a wonderful and pleasant stay that allowed us to really enjoy our time in Zhangjiajie.

- Cavarretta (7/5): Very cool LOL - The room was beautiful, the hotel overall is very good and old fashion stile looking good. It is well positioned if you need to visit Zhangjiajie mountains. The room was awesome, huge and really nice looking. Only problem we've been there on winter and the room was not isolated from the cold, so it has these windows with tini gaps where cold could get inside the room, event leaving the heat on the room could not go above 18°. I suggest to fix this for winter time.

Even went out there way to order porridge for my husband. Close to everything. 15 min walk to the East gate of the National Park. Can't go wrong with the price. The rooms are thoughtfully curated and facilities immaculately house kept daily. Beds are very comfortable in my twin room and the balcony frames a spectacular view of Zhangjajie’s karst silhouette with the river in the foreground. Breakfast is cooked fresh based on your selected of time and choice. House snacks, fresh mandarins and bottled water is freely available to sustain you through the day. Reception offers sound travel strategies based on intimate local knowledge which we relied on daily. Airport transfers can be arranged with a fee. Its excellent location along the picturesque riverside showcases charming local Wulingyuan village life where local living co exists with the thriving tourism trade. Opportunities abound for photography enthusiasts to capture the perfect composition. Ensuite bathtub offered a relaxing soak every evening after the day’s adventure. The hotel offers cultural interests such as tea tasting which Mr Lee is happy to oblige and a generous rack of traditional chinese and Tujia costumes is available in the lounge downstairs for patrons to dress up for fun filled self directed photography sessions. A good spot to stay for travellers who prefer a more eclectic experience. No night light available or Indirect lighting for navigating the room at night Steam room is not free. Some trip risks.

Das Frühstück ist a la Cart aber ganz gut, vorallem die Dumplings. Es war auch sehr sauber. Es war etwas kalt, da die Heizung im Zimmer nicht immer funktioniert hat und der Frühstückbereich war auch sehr kalt (wie Aussentemparatur). Leider hat es im WC und im ganzen Zimmer immer nach Abwasser gerochen. Die Badewanne ist kein Whirlpool! Das steht leider falsch in der Beschreibung.

- Xiongfong (9/5): Beautiful hotel very close to the national park - We had a great stay at this hotel for about a week while we traveled around the Zhangjiajie national park. This is a beautiful hotel with traditional Chinese-style wood architecture, with modern fixtures (including a bidet toilet). The hotel staff are incredibly kind, attentive, and detail-oriented. The room opens into a balcony overlooking a gorgeous lake with willow trees and you can see the mountains in the background. The hotel itself is a short drive from the north gate of the park, maybe about 10 minutes, and about 30 from the south gate. There are great restaurants right next door to the hotel and a bunch of shops. (Would highly recommend buying rain ponchos and shoe covers from the stores nearby if you're going to the park during a rainy season!) The area is also quiet and peaceful and the rooms are very clean. The hotel owners/staff are really the best part of this; they helped us buy tickets to the park, gave good recommendations for Tian Men Dong (the owner used to be a tour guide), and prepared a homemade breakfast for us daily. Can't recommend this place enough. Our wifi in one of our rooms didn't work for a few days, but otherwise everything was excellent.

But if you ask me, stay in the city and accept a longer ride to the park. The breakfast was a joke, table in a small kitchen with the cooker lady making dishwashing and prepare food as you eat. It was not very clean, it was lacking the normal refreshing drinks at minibar. The toilet was leaking water. Shower was not really ok. The ventilation needs some service. It could be much better, but better try different. We did not even get an invoice at check out. Very strange.

- Gregory (10/5): - I was very fortunate to find this hotel. I Love Lee's Boutique Resort. My room was a corner room to look out of both sides of the room. It had a huge bath tub (which is important to me), especially the staff was very accommodating. They arranged all the tours and transportation that I wanted. I think this particular hotel provided everything that was the reason for me to come to China in the first place.

From the questions I had even before arriving in Zhangjiajie, they were responded to in a timely manner and I felt the genuine urge to help. Even when I arrived, I felt the enthusiasm to help me plan my trip. I was even upgraded to a room with a view. Breakfast was also very good and huge portions. It is also just a 20 minute walk away from one of the Zhangjiajie park entrances which was really convenient. I would just say that it was hard to find the hotel (if you are using western apps).

Only downside is that there is no heating in the breakfast room, so it was quite cold to enjoy the breakfast at room temperature +3 Celsius. So, if you are travelling in the winter this is good to know.

The room was a very nice size and we loved the bathroom. The shower was amazing and the bath heated our cold bodies after a long day in the park. - John (9/5): Luxury in Wulingyuan village - A luxury stay compared to other hostel level hotels in the village (actually large town). Huge culturally designed rooms, good location on the river with lots of retail around. Walking distance (mile?) to Zhangjiajie park entrance. Desk manager laid out a great one-day self guided tour of the park, very helpful. Hotel may be a bit expensive for the area. Wulingyuan village is a 22 mile taxi ride from the nearest train station, driver couldn't find the hotel as it sits on the river, not on a street (and then tried to overcharge us by a lot).

- essjayy44 (10/5): A great choice for westerners looking to support a local hotel - Lee’s Boutique Resort is a great option for any westerners looking to stay in a local hotel that still feels familiar. The hotel is on a less busy street, but you can still hear street noise (talking, cars, honking) due to the building’s construction. There are plenty of local restaurants, street food vendors, produce vendors, and some clothing stores within a 5-minute walk. Authentic Chinese food is the main food option we found in the area. We booked a Twin room which had more than enough space for two people and our luggage the mattresses were larger than American twins, possibly a queen size. The mattresses are firm with very soft linens and a heavy duvet. The in-room AC cools the room quickly. The bathroom features a fancy toilet with a heated toilet seat. The shower had great water pressure. The door to both the shower and the toilet are sliding glass with an opaque covering in the center which may be uncomfortable if you are traveling with someone you aren’t close with. We loved supporting a family business. The owner’s son speaks English, but the hotel also has a handheld translator which worked well.

- Verified traveler (10/5): A Lovely Stay - Lee's Boutique Resort is well located for easy access to The Zhangjiajie National Park, and many shops and restaurants. It is a beautiful hotel, with very spacious rooms and we had a balcony facing the river. The owner and staff are super helpful, responding promptly to questions before our arrival (even suggesting an itinerary) and throughout our 3-night stay. Breakfast was ample and the dumplings, omelette and noodles were all quite yummy, proving much needed fuel for a full day ahead. All in all, a very good stay. We would certainly recommend LBR for those visiting Zhangjiajie.

We had a nice evening around a tea tasting with the owner which shared a lot of insights about local culture and history. Thank you again for this. Very nice breakfast in the morning where you could choose what you like.to have cooked for you. Confortable beds and big room. Location is convenient to get to the park ( east gate 15 min walk or 5 min by taxi) Nothing.

- Kwok Kwong (10/5): - Very friendly and helpful staff who takes care of our transportation, itinerary planning, activities booking and dining recommendations. We won’t enjoy our trip without his courteous assistance. Breakfast is excellent to start the whole day hiking in the Zhangjiajie National Park. Definitely will return to stay with them for the next trip in the same area.
- Jennifer (10/5): Unique and special! - The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. They booked our tickets to the parks in advance and reserved a guide and car for us. They also made recommendations on how to best plan our two days in the area. Hadn’t not been for them, we would have missed visiting amazing places they recommended.
- Kate (10/5): - Super friendly staff. Guided us about routes to take for all the activities we had planned. Such a sweet welcoming manner. Let us check in super early when we arrived much earlier than planned. Amazing free breakfast- best omelette ever!
