Guest Reviews
- Alice (10/5): - Great location
- Russell (10/5): - Great hotel
Friendly staff
Great food
- Seth (2/5): - I didnt end up staying, there were holes in the walls, toilet roll holder was on the floor, when there was a screwed up blanket next to the bed and when i pulled back the covers and noticed the small black curly hairs, i decieded to leave and find another place to stay, I did contact the phone number and they did offer to move me.. i just wasnt convinced it would be that much better.
- Toby (8/5): - It was convenient being near the center of town. full of loud people on weekends so definitely choose room 30 if staying.
- Toby (8/5): - Too be honest it wasn't a good start...
But in saying that they have really done me a solid in my extension and now I am extremely happy... If I can say one thing is too book the rooms with the extra bed like room 30. So close to the mall and everything central. The room they have moved me too is extra comfortable and much better. I appreciate their help and understanding as well as the room I am now in... Thanks to all the staff. My initial ratings go up for this room.
- Anjie (6/5): - It's a comfortable enough room but small and wasn't very much in the way of storage. There was only 1 cup and 1 glass so cuppas for 2 out of the question. First night I had to call the police as there was a domestic dispute happening in the room across from ours.
It's not good that there's no reception because it was extremely scary waiting for the police to arrive.
Parking next door in secure carpark is good $10 a day.
Great location. Within walking distance to most things
- Rebecca (10/5): - Great value, super clean. Mattress could've been softer but slept well. Easy check-in with a text - no key, no bother.
- Gail (8/5): - Close to shops and Bendigo Gallery, not far to walk. Secure and safe.
- Rhonda (10/5): - Great location, clean and safe
- Michele (6/5): - Good location, very central, everything within walking distance. The light did not work and the walls were dirty., but the bathroom, linen and floors were clean
We were promptly moved to a different room on the ground floor as no-one was availabe to fix the lighting issue. This room was very clean and everything worked perfectly.
- Lillie (4/5): - Room 1 felt like the room thats saved for when
- Rob (10/5): - I liked the use of PINs to get into the property. Easy to not have to worry about keys or keycards. Felt secure also.
- Eve (8/5): - Small room but quite comfortable. There was no bunkbed as advertised, which wasn't an issue for our group but could be for some. Good value for the price and very convenient location.
- Troy (6/5): - Good location and you get what you pay for. Felt like a half way house.
- David (10/5): - Very nice
- Leanne (6/5): - I have communicated with reception about my issues. Noise of maintenance next door till 9 pm, security alarm went off 4:20am. Tv remote dead. Bed uncomfortable. Most issues weren’t premises fault.
- Lupe (10/5): - Comfortable bed clean sheets clean toilets and bathroom excellent conditions, the only suggestion i have if u could have tissue box and water bottle in the fridge, otherwise we had a great stay
- Pamela (4/5): - Cramped tiny room. Walls had hand marks and bathroom was not clean.
Would not recommend and certainly far too expensive.
- Reynaldo (8/5): - Perfect for overnight stay
- Tuyet (4/5): - Customer service and checkin was great , room and facilities were standard but location of accommodation being close to pubs was noisy. which wasn’t too bad music finished at 11pm. However I got woken up in the middle of the night by what sounded like drunk kids outside making a scene , which was scary sounded like a fight was brewing. That ruined my night and experience.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Central but noisy - Noisy as it was bin night and collection was early in the morning. No reception, so noone to talk to should anything be needed. Luckily we didn't need anything
- MARY (10/5): - Room was small for 3 of us. It was clean. Very clean linen and towels. For the price was very good. Girl at cafe outside met us and helped us in. No staff but it was ok we had no issues. Car parked in the street at night was safe. Alot of other cars out there as well. Under roof car park next door. Kettle, cup, coffee and tea, no tea spoon. It’s only a room. Would go back again. Good.
- Jerry (8/5): - Comfortable and clean
- Javier (10/5): - Great location, next to a multistory carpark. Bit noisy at night, but can't beat the location.
- Heather (8/5): - I liked the property because
- Joseph (10/5): - Great location, easy and accessible for my teenagers to do things they want.
- Peter (10/5): - Crown is budget priced ($99 per night) so you can't expect an amazing experience. There is no concierge/front desk so, on the morning of arrival, you are sent a room number and an entry security code via email that allows entry to the front door and to your room. It worked seamlessly so full points there.
It is an old hotel so it does have a charm of its own especially the lovely staircase.
The room itself was sparse and my partner remarked that it could have used a better dust as there were a few dust webs around.
There was tea/coffee making facilities but perhaps a toaster also would have been a handy addition.
It has no car parking facilities of its own but is surrounded by ample street parking so no problem there.
Its massive selling point is its location.
It is situated one street back from the main highway through Bendigo and almost in the shadow of the Shamrock Hotel so it is close to all the local highlights (eg Bendigo Art Gallery would be an easy 5-10 minute stroll away.)
At $99 per night, it doesn't pretend to be more than what it is so affords what I see as excellent value for money.
I'd certainly return to it the next time I'm in Bendigo.
- Elaine (6/5): - Conveniently located.
No onsite parking - paid parking only.
Opened and half full milk in fridge
No spoons
Shower floods entire bathroom
- Sajjad (4/5): - Don't recommend
- Paul (10/5): - Great location. Easy access. Clean neat rooms
- Alister (2/5): - Room not ready
Used lurdry all over hall floor
No spoons to make coffee
- MELISSA (8/5): - Would stay again
- Anne (8/5): - Convenient for an overnight atay
- Karen (8/5): - The price was fantastic..and the rooms are very clean
- Jarrad (4/5): - Was not great. Shower took fifteen minutes to barely heat up and then went cold again. Bed was in desperate need of springs. Cheap look ok but get what you pay for I guess
- Peter (10/5): - Close to cbd
- Paula (8/5): - The property was great, clean and had an awesome outdoor area to sit. Right near the market and places to eat. It was safe and easy to get in and outnof. The only negative I had was the bed, it was very ‘roll into the middle’ and obviously quiet old.
- Faye (6/5): - Just needs a deep clean.
No Netflix, air con not working
- Shirley (8/5): - Honesty of staff after i left a neck lace in my room
- Suzi (2/5): - It was super noisy until 2am with music from pubs and the doors banging and we had to work the next day. Room was clean but no window felt a bit shut in. No shower pressure and too high to adjust the shower head. I wouldn't stay there again.
- Chloe (8/5): - Room wasn’t 100% clean dried noodles behind bedside tables n under the bed
- Juanita (4/5): - Extremely noisy. I booked this accommodation as a stop over for a 12 hour drive and barely got any sleep due to someone vacuuming at 9:45pm and then got woken up about 5 times during the night from loud neighbours and people in the hallway.
- Nati (10/5): Not bad at for the price - was nice and central
- Craig (4/5): - I dont make a habit of complaining however... the ants. Whoa. And the dirt.I have video proof. Not the best. O H and S issue.
- david (10/5): - Had to pay for parking but this was safe.
- Ray (8/5): - We really enjoyed its central location with easy access to bars, restaurants and attractions.
- Sharon (8/5): - Close to CBD which was good, unfortunately ants in room, including the bathroom, but overall ok for short stay.
- Carl (6/5): - Everythinf was percect and convenient for a quick stay while working in bendigo, the only issue was the comfort of the bed and the noise of some people shooting in the hallway.
- Sajal (6/5): - Water clogg
- Natasha (2/5): - Broken shower, and could not get anyone to fix it while we were there.
- Michele (6/5): - Clean, no frills & reasonably priced. Good if all you need is a bed for the night.
- Louise (2/5): - Could not stay as there was cockroaches in bed and room stunk of cigarette smoke. Rang and they said they would refund. They lied. Requested refund through Wotif and it was denied. A waste of money
- Damian (10/5): - Nice room, super easy check in. Right in the middle of the city. Ticked all the requirements for a no frills place to stay.
- KINNEAR (6/5): - There was no remote control for the room and when we checked in with the admin they already knew that but still put us in that room.
Also we weren't convinced the bed linen had been changed.
Fortunately we were moved to another room.
- neilo (10/5): - Central location and very convenient to access other points around that area where we were meeting other friends and relatives, Parking is limited but can be worked around, use of council parking next door not clear and possibly not suitable to met our needs regarding exiting on Sunday. But price was good and very convenient for the three of us for 2 nights
- glenn (10/5): - The property was everything we needed. Communication was excellent.
- Gary (4/5): - Although a lot of effort has gone into renovating the rooms we found tv was substandard, water in bathroom run away from drain and no one on site to assist other than phone number. Overal clean and tidy not sure about access to property via codes
- Margaret (8/5): - Clean
- Harrison (2/5): - Property not safe. Its within drugs associated environment.
Did not stay due to its location where drug activities transpired at night times
- Aidan (10/5): - Great check-in process. Room was basic but had everything I needed.
- Wayne (8/5): - No comment
- David (10/5): - Great location and easy access.
- David (2/5): - Can't comment on the facilities as we didnt stay there. Expected ground floor room as i have a disabled wife .Was given a room up 3 flights of stairs no lift. Car parking in the street. So we left went to s different town and paid to stay somewhere else. Can not possibly recommend. lost $200 for nothing
- Jenny (6/5): - The location is great. Walls are poorly sound proof but it was clean and was expected.
- DOROTHY (6/5): - No staff
- Hannah (4/5): - The room didn’t feel secure, and was open to a lane way next to a late night venue. Neither of the bed lamps worked, so it was either too dark or too light. It was like sleeping in a shopfront.
- Lynne (8/5): - Shower water runs all over bathroom. Glass screen needs to be sealed at bottom.
Otherwise everything was very good
- Stephen (6/5): - Very basic with out a reception , you enter with a pin to the outer door and room. outer areas are not that tidy. Room was clean and basic , no problems with that.
- Trevor (4/5): - Not for me
- Tyla (2/5): - terrible, we left
- Chris (6/5): - Room very small, tv broken, no batteries in remote control, skylight thru light, can’t sleep early AM. Shower water goes everywhere, no cupboard to hang clothes.
- Fiona (6/5): - Room was very small and bed extremely firm, meant we did not have a restful stay. No flywire on windows meant we could not open these for fresh air, and the parking situation was tricky. However the location was walking distance to restaurants and attractions, and a room change was dealt with quickly when requested.
- Steven (2/5): Not worth the money - Could not open the blinds at all as there was an alley where people could see into the room.
The hot water in shower took 5 mins to heat and I was there for 4 nights and no one came to clean the room.
No wardrobe to put luggage in. And very noisy at night.
Never will I stay here again.
- Dave (2/5): - Horrible experience-sent confirmation email with PIN numbers numbers didn’t work and people already in one of our rooms impossible to get hold of telephone numbers supplied DO NOT WORK and shear luck another person- looking for her room had a number that we had not seen before. Avoid this property- not worth the grief
- Dianne (10/5): - excellent value for money
- Stephen (10/5): - Basic but comfortable
- Stephen (4/5): - Great location the noisiest accommodation I’ve stayed at every door needs to be oiled it was very ordinary
- Tracey (10/5): - Very quiet. Comfortable bed.
- Barbara (6/5): - Bathroom floor was dirty, tv didn’t work, no milk for a cuppa but most of all very noisy!!
- Chris (8/5): - 1 Mug, 1 kettle, 2 instant coffee and 1 sugar sachet and 2 small soap. Enough towels and mats with a bin.. No spare pillows or blankets. 2 coat hooks on main door. BUT clean and neat. ***Lovely Main Staircase and chandelier***
No reception and phone number on website does not work.
SMS from site provided enough information to gain access and find alternative CAR PARKING as its a walk in only.
- Andrea (10/5): - Fantastic location. Very clean. Easy checkin. Everything we needed. Will be back.
- Andrew (8/5): - I didn't expect no staff and the PIN entry which was ok but could have been clearer in the website. I didn't travel with my full toiletries as I was in a hotel and expected shampoo at a minimum. The room was clean and serviceable and what was needed for short stay in Bendigo. If I was staying longer and the size of the room permitted, a small table would have been good.
- Rechelle (2/5): - I walked into my room and i was horrified it was disgustingly dirty marks on the bed stained bedding carpets not vacumed the TV was smashed walls had something spilt on them i walked out and booked a room else where
- Peter (8/5): Best bargin accommodation I have stayed in. - Good value for money accommodation. Great location, quiet , in the middle if town. It's not the Ritz, but its comfortable, clean and easy.
- David (10/5): - Great location. Management are great to deal with and very flexible. Nice and very clean rooms.
- Luke (10/5): Excellent Value - Excellent value, highly recommend.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Got little sleep due to other residents partying all night til 7am in the morning.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great central location but the room not serviced each day
- Verified traveler (6/5): - An amazing building very centrally located. No hairdryer in room however all else provided. A little sad at the walk through to our room a bit untidy however the internal areas well appointed. Enjoyed our stay thanks
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The noise from the beer garden? outside area! Was annoying as our room was beside it.
Also shower needs to be re-positioned over drain better! Got rather flooded when showering!!
Otherwise, we were happy with the accommodation !
Thanks
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Central location was the draw card. No staff on site was an issue when fire alarm went off and there weren’t any towels in the room.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Room way too small. No where to put or hang clothes. No table or bench. No tea bags. Bed terrible, felt like sleeping on a bed base. Pillows were too light weight and cheap! Not enough blankets. Had to sleep with air con on or would have been to cold.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - A small room with a double bed, fridge with tea and coffee facilities, a wall-mounted tv and bathroom facilities. Perfect for our needs as we had an overnight stay for a wedding. Right in the centre of town and a taxi rank outside.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - good central location but bed was uncomfortable to me
- David+2 (10/5): - clean and neat. great location. only thing i would have liked would be some glasses for water
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very central location, close to centre of town. Renovated inside, so rooms are modern.
- Heather (6/5): - The bed is broken or the mattress is so old it sags on one corner.
There was only one bottom sheet straight on to the mattress, no mattress protector - I suddenly felt I was sharing with everyone else that slept in that bed!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It was a neat and clean room. Right in town which was good. Easy entry with pin number access when you wanted. I would recommend it to anyone who wants an affordable room for the night. Basic ammenities - but a lovely experience. Can open the window to hear all the birds in the morning!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - How close it is to everything that you could possibly need on your stay
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Close to main part of city ,and shops. Easy to find ,room clean and freshly painted .goid view outside window. overall a pleasant stay
