• Marjorie (6/5): Très bien si ce n’est le prix par rapport aux autres logements existants - Très bon emplacement, le personnel etait très aimable et a l’écoute La chambre n’a pas de fenêtre (toute petite sans vue) on s’est senti un peu enfermé, le drap housse était usé c’est même déchiré , nous avons branché nos 2 téléphones et la prise a sauté … bref rien de grave mais trop cher pour ce logement

The air conditioning worked perfectly which was needed as hot during afternoon. TV and kettle didn’t work. The multi plug adapter was a little rusty. It didn’t matter but just take TV out.

Breakfast was great taken outside in the street which was ideal for people watching. The bathroom was slightly small and could have benefitted from a squeegee to remove water.
• Claire (10/5): Very special place to call home for 4 days - highly recommend - We loved our 4 night stay at the charming family run Antic Guesthouse managed by Ifran who with the team went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. Aliment restaurant/cafe onsite - lovely staff serving great breakfast daily & we also enjoyed some delicious Sri Lankan Curries. Jewellery shop also onsite - bought a beautiful ring which was reasonably priced. We were lucky enough to be taken out on the first local sight seeing tour in their brand new tuk tuk which was a lovely experience 🤗 Nothing

Very clean, great shower and comfortable bed right in the middle of Galle Fort. The local residents were very friendly and the owners had a lovely jewellery shop beneath the guest house.

• Marianne (9/5): Tolle, saubere und farbenfrohe Unterkunft - Unser Zimmer mit dem kleinen Balkon war mit hübschen Möbeln sehr individuell eingerichtet. Wir haben uns sofort wohl gefühlt. Die Matratze war sehr bequem und die Dusche die Beste, welche wir auf unserer Sri Lanka Reise bis anhin angetroffen. hatten. Alles hat gepasst. Auch das Personal war zuvorkommend und sehr nett, inklusive das Frühstück im gegenüberliegenden kleinen Restaurant. Das Zimmer war ein wenig hellhörig. Durch die Zimmerdecke hat man den Fernseher des oberen Gastes gehört. Der Besitzer hätte uns freundlicherweise ein anderes Zimmer angeboten, aber wir wollten nicht wechseln. Mit Ohropax in den Ohren verbrachten wir eine ruhige zweite Nacht. Wir würden diese künstlerisch gestaltete Unterkunft wieder wählen.

The location is perfect, peaceful but still close to everything, and just a short walk to the beach and Galle Fort. The rooms were spotless, comfortable and full of charm, with thoughtful little touches that made it feel homely rather than just a place to sleep.

Very good value for money right in the middle of Galle Fort. I was en route, so arrived late and left early and the hosts were welcoming and helpful by providing a take away breakfast in and arranging a taxi to take me to the station early the next morning. Hammock inside the room. Stairs (No elevator) and busy street but quiet room. Very friendly manager ! Very light (glass) and not sound-proof door. Just door with a lock. Basic amenities and room has no window. Good for 1 night if you are only looking for a place to crash.

• NEHA (1/5): Not worth the money and they will spoil your mood. Better avoid - The location was good . But the stairs and the room was uncomfortable The room had a slanting roof and hence they are smaller than pictures. they didn’t clean the room for 2 days. Breakfast wasn’t available until 9 am and the staff is very rude. They made comments about my country and made me feel unwelcome. I checked out early as I was feeling unsafe.

• bernardkruger (9/5): All the historic charm of the Fort itself - The small town inside the walls of Galle Fort is a charming place, and this guesthouse exudes all its historic character. I loved my room -- spacious, tall ceiling, historic accents -- and a very comfortable bathroom. Breakfast was served across the road at a little restaurant affiliated with the guesthouse, where I also enjoyed dinner and excellent service.

Отель в старинном здании, персонал супер. Узнали что у супруги день рождения и уже на завтраке поздравили - тортик, цветы, песня! Просто супер! Единственно надо быть готовым что в номере нет шкафа для одежды, но есть комод, и сейфа. Все понравилось!

The location was fabulous right in the heart of the old fort, opposite a very popular restaurant. It was perfect for a stay in Galle.
• Marie (10/5): Great guesthouse in good location - Lovely guesthouse in a fantastic location within Galle Fort. Easy, safe walking around to all attractions and restaurants. Basic rooms with good aircon and comfortable beds. The breakfast at the restaurant each morning was the highlight - lovely food and great staff. Will defintely stay again. only issue was Wifi was a bit hit and miss in the rooms, but good at the restaurant.

Room was clean, with everything to make for a comfy stay. But what really made our stay special was hotel manager, taking special care of us, and helping with some travel re-arrangements when our travel plans changed. Oh, and breakfast was simply the best.

• Tania (3/5): Extremely disappointing and hugely overpriced for what was offered. - The breakfast was good, without being exceptional, but I very much appreciated being offered a Sri Lankan breakfast, as opposed to just a Western one. The location was great, being near the Fort and the beach. But apart from that, I really didn't like the place or feel comfortable or welcome there. I will NEVER return there; I will NEVER recommend anyone to stay at this place for one important reason: internet connectivity totally SUCKED!!! And unfortunately, I really needed it to work, but it didn't! This absolutely NOT a value for money place. Having to share my room and bathroom with resident geckos was SCAREY! The stairs to the rooms are not exactly user friendly for older people. I really felt the lack of a balcony where one could sit and enjoy the scenery and catch some fresh air.

Nice people but lazy 75 USD per night isn’t worth staying here

Perfect location to explore Galle Fort. I didn’t love the ‘wet room’ bathroom. Even though the water from the shower drained quickly, I’m not a fan of wet surfaces on the sink and toilet.
• Diane (10/5): Wonderful stay in a great location with lovely staff and a special shout out to Sampath! - We really like the location within the fort area with lots of little shops and restaurants nearby to visit. Sampath the hotel manager, was the friendliest and most helpful person and even arranged a little evening soirée on our balcony for us to celebrate my birthday. The hotel is a little quirky with a gem store underneath and a cafe opposite for breakfast. This is our second stay here and we would definitely stay there again if we were in Sri Lanka. Our room was on the first floor and the noise of people walking in the room above was quite loud in the morning.

• Raymond (6/5): Basic accommodation in a good location - The room was up stairs, but help available with suitcases. The room was rustic with limited power points for chargers. The location was convenient being in the old town Fort, with many small shops and restaurants and quite close to sea wall walking area. staff were helpful. Availability of power or USB points and the wifi was quite weak. Comfortable in room seating would be appreciated and the room doors had rather primitive locks prompting slight security concerns. Included Breakfast was across the road, basic and limited to “Sri Lankan” food, which surprised us.

• Dave (6/5): Very poor value at this price! - Great location Couldn’t get any help whatsoever on arrival about where the dialog store was (my phone had been disconnected making life difficult). My bed had only 1 thin sheet so was too cold with a/c or too hot without. Reception was closed morning and afternoon during my stay. The included breakfast was revolting. The WiFi was unusably bad. The electric kettle was in dangerous condition.

• Mavipelikan (6/5): Great location, authentic building, definitely needs a big renovation... - The location of the facility was great. It was an old, very well designed, clean building. Everything in the room looked like antique; the doors, ceiling, furniture... The room was smelling very nice. The room was ok for 2 people. The bathroom was clean. The breakfast was nice, traditional one. We booked a room for 3 three people but they offered us a mattress on the floor for our daughter and it was a very old and damaged one. We decided to sleep on the double bed altogether. (She is 15) The water heater was broken and caused a hand burnt. The AC was so loud, although we didn't use it, since the other guests used them every half an hour it made a huge noise; we couldn't sleep all night long. You also had to listen the people walking upstairs and using the bathroom. The facility definitely needs a renovation and the Acs must be changed.
