- Dean (2/5): Worse place I've stayed - Arrived to be told my booking has been cancelled as they no longer work with 3rd parties. Got given a room, the bed was lumpy, coffee machine dirty. Was moved to another room, bed was ok but coffee machine is filthy. Made you feel sick. Didn’t use it. Obviously no cleaning or a check is done to the machines after guests leave. No mention at all on the listing of the hotel being next to a train track & noisy trains hurtling through. We got our heads down as had been driving for over 7 hours so needed to rest before we got back on the road but couldn't wait to get out of the place.

- Steven (4/5): Probably won't go back. - A place to sleep. Showed up and checked in only to find out the room was a single queen and not the kitchenette we had booked six months in advance. Proprietor locked the office door after I checked in. Contacted the front desk by phone and he was insistent that I hadn't booked the kitchenette even though I have the receipt/screenshots on the Booking.com app. My name, payment,late check-in request, and reservation came through just fine,but allegedly, the room type did not. Then he said we probably got our room because the kitchenette wasn't available (a decision that would have been made without my consent due to the no refund policy). I was never contacted about availability, or reservation change. We had a whole cooler full of food for the week that we couldn't cook, and hunting season in that area makes rooms hard to find. We had to make it work. If you book online, call and confirm your reservation. Room was pretty small and basic, parking is terrible and you can be blocked in by bigger vehicles if you're in room numbers 6-10. The heater would either fry us or freeze us out at night. I have pretty low expectations for hotels in this area of the state, but I left disappointed.

- Joanne (6/5): Old but clean. Check in difficult++++ - The linen was clean. Bed comfortable. Good hot water. Very difficult check in. The proprietor said he didn't have a name for my booking...just wanted a number! He complained about booking.com. Badgered me about what room I had booked. Said I had to know the name of the room! Not the bed configuration. I had booked a triple room, double bed and single bed, a larger room. He harangued me asking if I really needed two beds until I said one queen was enough. So I got talked into a cheaper room with no refund of the difference!! I have never had anyone treat me like this and be so difficult when checking in. I would recommend booking.com removes this business from their listings.

The proprietor was really unhappy about the prepaid internet rate and tried to get me to pay more . It was an unexpected hassle after a long day’s drive . He did eventually honor the rate .

- Caba (6/5): OK place to stay - Location was good, walking distance from everything. The motel is outdated, bathroom needs a renovation and pretty much Malta MT is not really a destination unless you plan to visit the Sleeping Buffalo Hot Springs that is 20 min away.

Made me feel I was imposing on his tv show. Complained about that ’internet stuff’. Didn’t check ID. Assigned us to a room that was in complete disarray. No “oh sorry” just tossed another key at me. Dude probably doesn’t care if I ever come back. Don’t worry, I won’t! He gave a good recommendation for dinner, but then it was the only joint in town! 😿🫣

And I needed it. but then the room was only $70, the staff was friendly and the location was good. Newer linens (not threadbare) newer bed, better coffee, windows that actually open....

- John (8/5): Good place to stay for a quick overnight. GN steak restaurant nearby. Best steak ever. - I liked that it was near the Highway that we were traveling on. When we arrived we needed to call for the desk clerk to come to the property. Mixed up our reservation with another client which was worked out later on. The staff that was to clean was not on the premises and their was dog pee on our door throughout our stay. The head manager was available later on and was not happy with his staff!

- KEVIN B (2/5): OVERBOOKED despite my Hotels.com reservation - It never happened because when I arrived the owner said he did not have any rooms despite my reservation. Hotels.com was not able to identify lodging in the vicinity where I could be relocated. I ended up having to drive two hours to find another place to stay. My bird hunting plans for Malta that I made months ago had to be cancelled. Either the Royals Inn owner or Hotels.com screwed up ( or perhaps both). Not happy
