Guest Reviews
- Jianqing (10/5): - Nice property . But Expedia didn’t describe the room size right . And they don’t have spa service either
- Michael (10/5): - Had a great experience and will certainly re-visit
- Eileen (10/5): - Beautiful room and view. Walkable to all
- Arthur (8/5): - the property was very quiet . got strange looks from the restaurant receptionist when i was lookin at the lake like i should not be there while she was serving . no communication with staff or owner only text ,fan outside did not work on balcony
overall stay was good prperty could use some maintenance
door locks are not good, bad step from balcony to room
still the stay was good
- Alexandra (10/5): - Amazing stay in the heart of Bolton Landing. Beautiful views of the lake, updated cozy rooms, lovely staff. Walkable to everything - a great find !
- Verified traveler (10/5): Love it - Nice , cozy , romantic place
- Stephanie (6/5): - The place was unique and staff very nice and accommodating. Thankfully because the AC in room did not work. Surrounding area not fully clean grounds due to geese poop everywhere but really nice area... unbalanced place.
- Michael (10/5): MM review. - Very nice place to stay with an excellent restaurant downstairs. Room was spacious and had a nice view of the lake. We stayed two nights and will definitely be back.
- John (10/5): - We had the property to ourselves with the exception of guests of the restaurant. Was a beautiful and relaxing weekend for my wife and I to lay in bed and reconnect.
- Elizabeth (10/5): - Cozy, private and quiet was just what we needed. Warm and comfortable bed. Close to boat rental and hiking.
- Dale (4/5): - Only 3 lodging rooms in the house over the popular dining area. Quieted down by midnight. Cottage folksy, not luxury for the price.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Not what we expected for the price. - Bed was comfortable, room was adequate but bathroom had dim lights, fireplace had no instructions and couldn't get it to work, couldn't get into the room and had to call - they said they had sent a text with instructions but didn't; no chairs, no desk, grounds were not kept up. Restaurant was good.
- Andres (10/5): - Wonderful setting and quiet environment
- George (8/5): - Perfect location to stroll around town, waterfront, and a gourmet restaurant on premise
- Jane (10/5): - The owner upgraded our room so we were facing Lake George. Our room was beautiful with a balcony. We sat in the room and watched three deer by the lake. The manager was very prompt and helpful with a small issue we had.
- Herbert (8/5): - Beautiful room, fireplace and view!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great views, now find a dust cloth - The room was beautiful, but only superficially clean. The fan above the bed was coated in chunky dust. I dropped an ear bud and it rolled under the bed. Getting down on the floor, the dust bunnies were HUGE and ubiquitous. Invest in a swiffer, please!
The room, view, and linens were comfortable. The blinds being on the outside of the French doors is a huge miss. I had to go outside to close the blinds, which would be horrible in winter. It also did not make me feel safe as a solo female traveler, knowing that others could manipulate the room blinds from outside, and there was nothing I could do about it.
The views were spectacular, but the furniture on the porch was covered in pine needles, demonstrating that no housekeeping had been done on the porch prior to my arrival.
Overall a nice room, but at the price point of over $300 per night in the "shoulder" season of Lake George tourism, I expected better.
- Sekena (10/5): - We absolutely LOVED our relax & recharge getaway here. It’s was just what my husband and I needed. AWESOME food too. It was such an great convenience to be able to walk right downstairs and enjoy delicious food. Definitely would come back.
- helene (10/5): - We will be back. Beautiful.
- Helen (10/5): - Loved the chateau rooms. Beautiful location on Lake George. Friendly staff, readily available to make for an enjoyable stay. Highly recommend.
- Roberta (10/5): - Our lakeside room was perfect. Clean, spacious and the veranda was quite large and a great place to hang out.
- Paula (10/5): - Quiet, great view.
- Kathy (10/5): - Loved EVERYTHING about this amazingly beautiful property. 5-star restaurant on property a bonus. We cannot wait to return!
- Suzy (8/5): - The three beautiful guest rooms are above a 5-star restaurant. The bed in our room was super comfy! The location of the property is great because you can walk into town for shopping or eats. Their little beach and dock are in a well-protected area of the lake and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The management went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and happy. The only awkward thing is if you want to stroll down to the water in your bathing suit during the dinner period, you will pass through the dining people. This is likely because of having more diners outside due to the virus. However, this could be easily remedied with a pathway between the property fence and tented area, as there was room. I will definitely return to this beautiful property!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice place for a romantic weekend - Lovely little spot with a beautiful view. Comfortable room and friendly setting
- Graham (10/5): - Very nice establishment. Owner was very helpful, communicating directly via text, which was very useful.
- AngelosK (10/5): - We stayed here two nights. The Chateau has 3 rooms; 2 with lake view, one without. What really makes this place special is the amazing view. Our room (with a lake view) was also peaceful and quiet. Main issue was that heat didn't work. Owner did come (it was 11pm) and tried to fix it but couldn't. He brought a portable heater (kind of noisy). I can't blame him for the problem I guess - He was responsive and did try to fix it - but first night was not 100% good because of it. The room was spacious, high ceiling. Cleanliness was ok - lots of dust under the bed and some cobwebs.
The property has only 3 rooms, so maybe no one cleans it during the week. The restaurant in the property (Manhattan prices) does have amazing food. We roasted Marshmallows in the private years at night.
So over a very nice experience, I would go again - but only for a room with a view; that's what makes this place special
- Abe (4/5): - After all it’s a guesthouse and not a hotel.
Location is good but there were no receptionist or someone to talk with all we got is a text message stated that our room is ready and the key is in the door.
We stayed for two nights, second night was bad ,they have a restaurant downstairs and for some how they left the music on all night till 9am in the morning I was almost going to call 911.
First day we showered with hot water but next day we did not have a hot water it was
Nearly cold to warm.
Very uncomfortable stay.
I won’t recommend.
- Barbara H. (10/5): So flexible - Beautiful location and when there was an unforeseen issue with our initial room they immediately moved us to an upgraded room. It is a great place.
- Andrew (10/5): - Fantastic lakeside getaway. Not at all like all the other hotels around the lake. Classy, quiet, and secluded. They only have 3 rooms, and they are above the restaurant. No front desk but Buddy was attentive if we needed anything.
Great place to relax and catch your breath.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location, extraordinary dining, quiet setting, beautiful view, very comfortable room, relaxed atmosphere.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Quiet. Rustic. Great porch. Need to put in the rooms a 55 or 65 inch tv. real nice shower.
- Cici (2/5): Uncaring - I had a death in my family and tried to get even a partial refund— not only did that not happen but management’s attitude was rude and uncaring?
- Bill (10/5): Great stay. - Buddy and the whole staff were amazing. The view, the bed, tue food in the restaurant were all excellent. We will be back.
- Michel (10/5): - WOW what a place. We were welcomed by Buddy, the host with a bottle of wine and cheese and cold cut tray. Room was spacious, clean and had a wonderful view. The hosts were great guides and we will be back. One of the best places we ever stayed at. Thanks
- Jose (10/5): - Great experience
Great location
Great staff
Only need to put attention on Chateau Food, great staff... but meet it’s not prime... have choice options
- Jon (10/5): Great place - Room was great, location down a secluded lane with a lake view but in the center of town is ideal. Low key, only three rooms but very well done!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Just Perfect - It was a breathtaking view and the snow made it unbelievabley surreal. The room was just absolutely beautiful... Met the owner Buddy and what a great person. I will definitely be back!!!
- Steven (10/5): Cute little rooms with fantastic dining - It was phenomenal in every aspect. Already looking to book our next stay
- Judy (10/5): UNIQUE ROOM BY THE LAKE - Rented this room because i
I was looking to get away from distraction & stress. This was PEEFECT! The details in the room: fireplace, the view, the cute pillows, the cool shower, robes & slippers, etc were also cozy! Best sleep I’ve ever had, bedsheets were GREAT! The view of lake tied it altogether! The staff was impeccable! I’ll definitely be coming back SOON!!
- Michael (10/5): AMAZING! - Property, room, ambiance, food, personal touch - AMAZING!!!
Can't wait to go back.
- Joanys (10/5): Cozy, and spectacular view. - Room was super cute and clean; what else can one ask for. Pure perfection.
- daniela (8/5): Beautiful location!! - New amazing room !
