Guest Reviews
- Emilia (9/5): - Locatia, canerele, baia in are liber. Micul dejun nu este variat
- Younes (10/5): -
- Annabel Jil (9/5): Very nice hotel with nice staff and nice rooms. - We stayed for 5 Nights at this lovely Hotel. It is a very nice and cute accommodation, the pool is well maintained. The bungalow was big and clean. The breakfast was not very outstanding but fine. The hotel is located just a few minutes from the beach in a quiet street. The staff was also very friendly. It was a very pleasant stay. Nothing
- Deky (9/5): -

- Leticia (9/5): - "The the room was super comfortable and impeccably clean. The staff works tirelessly, always taking great care of the garden and surroundings. And a special mention to the manager that really helpt me when I needed it. Gili Air in general has become too expensive.
- Santiago (9/5): - Big and clean room. Staff very friendly. Good breakfast. Excellent location near the beach and restaurants.
- Paddy (7/5): Good stay - Staff were very welcoming on arrival. Room was very spacious, and well kept. Clean. Good facilities. Pool area nice. Had some nights where it was quite noisy outside.

- Richard (10/5): Samata Village Resort in July - The staff were extremely helpful and service was always with a smile. Samata is set back about 70m from the coast path so is very tranquil. It's a convenient location with only a short walk to all amenities and restaurants. There was absolutely nothing to complain about!
- Sarah (7/5): Good location, nice rooms and lovely pool. - Nice pool and pool area. Close walk to beach and Main Street. Nice rooms with balcony. The house cat was friendly and cute. The breakfast was average.
- Shalley (2/5): Don’t waste your money or time here - The room was spacious, lovely outdoor shower, location is close to the harbor within 10-15 minute walk and the breakfast is decent. Also, really good Wi-Fi! The staff is non-existent and not helpful at all. Apparently it is low season because we were the only guests at the hotel while the other hotels nearby seemed to be lively.
The property needs extra lighting throughout and some major landscaping. There is a large gap between the bottom of the door for mosquitos to get into the room and if you don’t close the bathroom door, the mosquitos can get into the room as well. It would be nice for a net around the bed. In the breakfast area, there are also lots of mosquitos and it just makes it uncomfortable to eat.
As i was checking out, i informed one of the staff about the blind wand not working to let light into the room. It didn’t bother me during my stay but i wanted to show it to them so they can fix for it the next guest. Instead he started to raise his voice about how i should have told the staff about the complaint instead of checking-out. As i tried to tell him it wasn’t a big deal, he continued to talk over me. It was incredibly rude.
Honestly, this place has so much potential but it’s just a bit run down. The property looks a lot nicer in photos than the place itself. For the price you pay, i suggest just staying somewhere else.
- Ben (6/5): Pleasant - The pool and location Staff did not really speak English.
There was no bar and kitchen was closed a lot.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Hôtel très confortable et tranquille - Très bonne expérience. Proche du centre et de la côte lever du soleil, ainsi que de la zone snorkeling.
- Tanja (8/5): Good location with lovely pool. Best location to the beach you can see the turtles swim. - Cute houses with a lovely pool in the middle. Enjoyed our stay.
If you see how the island is and there is no or little comfort. People are very poor and have nothing you really go back in time. It’s no luxery island.
Restaurants have the perfect breakfast bowls and coffee :) Regular times for cleaning the room and a knock on your door when they do come in and cleaning your room.
- Pietro (5/5): Passable - Barely anything. It was definitely not at par with the pictures displayed on Booking. Location is good and pool is fine - although not very clean Staff was rude, unorganized, and unprofessional.
Facilities were dirty at best.
- Emma (6/5): Good value and great location but could do with a little TLC - Great location, close to beach and also main strip of restaurants. The pool area was nice and the beds in the room were really comfortable. Good value for the price you pay and when we checked in the staff were really helpful and gave us lots of tips about the island. There was a reception area but often no staff around which meant we waited a while to check in and check out. The breakfast was very basic and the rooms were a little bit shabby for example we had stained towels, rusty toilet bin, really wonky tap and main door that was a struggle to close as one of the handles was really loose.
- Ali (6/5): Great location but can do better. - Rooms are nice and beautiful pool Staff never available for check in, bike hire or general enquiries. Staff are lovely, just not around most of day, only 1 or 2 hours.
As there is no staff, no way to manage late night pool parties. All rooms face the pool so don’t expect any sleep when guests drink and play ball games in the pool late at night.
- Tarnia (9/5): Superb -
- Shirley (9/5): Superb -
- Akos32 (9/5): Superb - Everything that you need in an accomodation.at Gili air.
Great location,.clean and well.maintained rooms, nice pool and garden. Hot water had some issues
- Csilla (9/5): Superb -
- Wires (8/5): Very good -
- Cosmo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ganna (9/5): Superb -
- Troy (9/5): Superb -
- Jenny (10/5): Exceptional - This property was perfect for me! The villa is so big and clean and private and on a quiet road just down from the beach- honestly 100% recommend!! it’s even better than the photos show. Also loved the pool- but I was so close to the beach (where they have the BEST snorkeling on the whole island- and you just walk in from the shore) I barely used it! After going around Gili Air for a few days, I was quickly aware I was in the best spot bc it was only a quick bike ride to the port (main road) and also really cute beach warungs to chill in.
(Small note, just walk along the beach path when you get off the ferry to the property, don’t follow the gps thru the town- it’s waaayyyy easier along the water). The only request I would make is a full length mirror in the room. Also a note- there are roosters next door with a 5am wake up call…
- Yuriy (5/5): Inexpensive stay but inconvenient location and lacking hygiene - Not too far from the best snorkelling spots on the island. Inexpensive stay. Dirty bed sheets, overall hygiene was lacking everywhere from the kitchen to the rooms and the pool, located off the Main Street/ Road connected by a dirt road, if it rains you will be walking in massive pools of mud and sewage to reach the main road. Giant spiders in the room due to open roof bathroom. Bugs in the bathroom. Saltwater running in showers. Felt like the team managing the property is really trying hard but don’t have enough manpower and resources.
- James (8/5): Very good -
- Daniele (10/5): Great place to spend few days in Gili Air and relax - Really liked the facilities.
Large room, well equipped.
Air conditioning functioning well
Nice pool, well sized, quiet and with nice views of the garden
Great breakfast, with several options and freshly made food.
Staff super kind Wi-Fi working intermittently.
There were a bit of Mosquitos, especially in the garden and breakfast area, like most places on the island.
- Andrew (9/5): A breath of fresh air and a peaceful escape - A peaceful and relaxing resort a few minutes walk from the beach and restaurants / bars. Nice pool and loungers to enjoy the tranquility. Ideally located slightly away from the beach so you can really believe you are in your own private getaway. Staff are all friendly and service was great. Had one of the best omelette I have had for years for breakfast there . Would go back anytime N/A
- Tracy (6/5): Pleasant -
- Elizaveta (7/5): Good -
- Xavier (5/5): Passable - Harry at the front desk / reception is TOP! He is super helpful and provided solutions to all our needs. Arranged for us anything we needed whiçe being in Gili Air: bike rentals, boat transfer, snorkeling tour … The room, the bathroom, towels and bed linen dirty.
Pool water wasn’t clean either, blurred water.
- Katie (6/5): Would be good value for money if a third cheaper, expected more for price paid - Size of room (great to have two bathrooms)
Comfortable beds
Good air-con
Great location for walking to beach, centre and port
Refillable water Breakfast very average - instant coffee, limited choice
Poor wi-fi
No real hotel facilities ie pool service, drinks etc - everything felt like an ask
Pool murky, not appealing
Cold water shower in morning
- Mary (10/5): Wonderful stay - Fabulous accommodation with pool
- Ali (1/5): Bad -
- Josephine (8/5): Very nice location, cute little cottage - Clean, good location, secluded and nice pool Nothing
- Jasiune (10/5): Exceptional - The place is very good - near the beach and best snorkling spots. Friendly staff and cosy yard.
- Karishma (7/5): Good location, cold showers every morning - Good location, easily able to walk to all the main parts of the island There was no hot water in the morning for showers. At night time the hot water worked fine for the showers. But every morning I used to have a completely cold shower, and there were a couple of days where the water was almost turned off and just a dribble in the morning.
They provided water in a bottle on the first day, but because there isn't daily room service, the bottle never gets refilled. We hate constantly having to buy plastic bottles, so we used to have to ask to refill our bottles at the end of the night - and they were always accommodating, but it would be nice if the water is refillable because we use it for everything, including brushing our teeth and cleaning our tooth brush with it
- Aranzazu (9/5): Superb -
- Samo (7/5): Good - very nice bungalows and swimming pool, peaceful place, ok location, good value for money, they have bikes to rent breakfast take 30-40 minutes to get food as only two persons are in the kitchen.
Dirty cups and plates at breakfast, overall hygiene could be on higher level
- Zara (9/5): lovely accomodation in the perfect location - lovely location right next to both the port and beach. there were plenty of towels provided and I loved the open roof In the shower n/a
- Thomas (10/5): Exceptional - We had a brilliant stay here. Only 100m away from snorkeling point and as the island is so small its really not far away from anywhere! The room was great, good facilities and comfortable bed. Really liked the pool and the sun lounge options. Very friendly staff.
- Antonia (9/5): wonderful stay, fab location, lovely people. worth a revisit. - great location, fabulous pool, nice staff, lovely beds and room. plenty of mineral water in the rooms.
we went snorkelling in the bay on the coral reef every day and swam with turtles. great food only 100m away on the beach.
barefoot blondies near the port is a fabulous breakfast. sort the coffee out!
- Alexander (8/5): Very good -
- Jeremy (10/5): Exceptional - it’s set back up the main street you think you were in the middle of nowhere it’s lovely quiet, would recommend
- Marine (10/5): Comfortable paradise on the island - Our favourite stay in Bali! This is a little paradise. The owners were there to welcome us which made us feel right at home.
The staff were so thoughtful and friendly, they organised breakfast and scooters for us, and provided fresh drinking water everyday.
The ‘villas’ are small but private and comfortable. We had the BEST sleep of our entire trip in their beds, a loved the clean and modern bathroom. Each bungalow has its own private porch, great spots to read and chill if it’s during rainy season.
It’s a small hotel so always quiet and welcoming. The pool and gardens are lovely to relax.
Everything is clean and beautifully maintained.
Turns out his is an amazing location (especially if you have scooters), right in the middle of the island meaning far from the loud beach street but within minutes from the West, and North east and south side of the island (from which you can take the bridge to Cenigan island). slow wifi
- Mary (10/5): Exceptional -
- Julia (9/5): great hotel close to a beautiful beach - - nice room with open air shower
- air conditioning
- beautiful and clean pool
- close to the beach
- quiet - breakfast was not tasty (value for money is not right here) :-(
- mosquito net would be great
- Allison (7/5): Good -
- Hanis (9/5): Superb - calm and relaxing ambience
loved the pool
breakfast was good and tasty
room spacious nothing
- Lloyd (7/5): one of the better places to stay on Gili Air I think. good location close to sunrise side/pier, amazing pool and th - location, staff, amazing pool, lovely rooms. can rent bikes for 50,000 per day. Breakfast could be a bit better. Wifi didn’t really work in our room but it didn’t bother us too much.
- Thomas (10/5): Exceptional - the staff were amazing. Forgot something at the property and they send it to my next hotel
very calm location and close to restaurants
bike can be rented at the hotel
the pool breakfast too simple
- Jasmine (7/5): Nice stay but slightly overpriced. - Good location and friendly staff. For the price it needs updating/ improving.
- Jessica (9/5): Superb - Staff were lovely! Provided breakfast despite not being included
- Aaron (6/5): A little disapointing. - Central location on the Gili Air Island. The swimming pool was also nice. The price is too high in comparison with other very good hotels around Lombok. The bed was very hard and we had two big geckos inside our bedroom. During the night they made very loud noises. The breakfast was not really nice, with absolutely just the mininum to call it a buffet. We were never asked from the staff if we had a good stay or if we enjoyed Gili Air.
- Tiffany (7/5): Overall it was a comfortable stay - Location was really good, near to food/beach, staff was super friendly Check in process was kinda slow, waited 1.5 hours at the reception. But they provided free breakfast for us which we feel great.
- Wout (5/5): Passable -
- Rick (8/5): Very good - Beautiful swimming pool
Harry, the hotel manager, was wonderful
location was great
service was amazing, thanks for the tips Harry!
very clean
the AC was spot on Sometimes it could be noisy
A couple of spots that need fixing i.e. chair and the shampoo dispenser
when the cleaner finished his/her job, the door to the outside bathroom was open, ensuring a couple of bugs could enter the room
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Well appointed rooms with thoughtful touches. Very clean and peaceful place. Great communal area for breakfast and playing cards. Pool lovely and clean. Close to the beach and restaurants and bars. Great staff, so friendly and helpful.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The gentleman who ran the resort was great and he was one of the highlights. The breakfast was good, coffee not always as fresh. Honestly the only thing we really disliked was the bike selection and fee they charge. Either make it free with bikes or upgrade the bikes and I would have no problem paying. My chain I had to keep fixing, it is what it is. Also loud chicken next door all day was annoying but thats not to blame resort and not reflected in review. More of an FYI.
- Sarah (10/5): 5 nights in Gili Air - Lovely stay at Samata village! We stayed for 5 nights and really enjoyed the tranquil setting. Our room was lovely, the pool was beautiful and the staff were really friendly and helpful! Would definitely stay again.
- Niraj (10/5): Can’t miss new place - The hotel is new so everything is modern. Can see some teething issues, but overall the location, pool, staff was very good.
