Guest Reviews
- Guest (6/5): - great location. Everywhere was walkable and it was nice to stay in the heart of town. It was very cozy and quiet. I didn't see another person at the hotel the entire time i was there. I would definitely recommend this place. Woman at the desk wasn't very friendly, might've just been having a bad day though. Not enough to make me not want to stay there again. Everyone was patient and helpful. Man at desk was quite friendly though.
- Guest (7/5): Close to shopping and dining. - Location was great. Place perfect for what I was looking for Room AC was marginal. Not on a hot when I arrived. Cooled down after several hours. Good enough for sleep, but likely hot during the day
- Mary (10/5): -
- Kerollos (5/5): Passable -
- Grant (7/5): An older facility that is clean and comfortable. - Reception staff were friendly and helpful. There is free tea and coffee available all day. The place was clean and well located. There was four of us. We could have stayed in one room but weren’t given that information at booking or checkin so our stay was more expensive than it needed to be.
- John (6/5): a reasonable place to stay for a layover, but my wife would not stay there again - good location, very friendly staff while not dirty, the overall property looks very dilapidated and not well maintained, and we did see small roaches in one of our rooms.
- Anonymous (10/5): Our stay was awesome. - Breakfast was amazing. The hostess freshly prepared breakfast every day. We enjoyed the local foods that we had not tasted in years especially the Johnny cake and salt fish, Johnny cake with cheese, homemade oats, oxtails. There was nothing that I didn’t like. The room was comfortable which met our expectations.
- Stephaney (9/5): Great location, great for the price! - Easy access, great location, clean and comfortable. My room was in the 3rd floor and theres no elevator... but I didnt mind the extra steps for the watch to count!
- Davis (9/5): Superb -
- Sheila (2/5): Not worth the price, big disappointment. - Natalie, was very helpful with allowing us to check in early, and the location is great. However the property was not as pictured in the booking.com listing. The property was dirty with lots of trash between the walkway and the building. The paint was chipping off the door jam in the bathroom, and some tiles were broken off from the bathroom wall. The room was dingy with only one light working in the ceiling fixture. You had to walk past unkept plants and trash bin to get to the stairs up to your room. It certainly was not worth what we paid to stay at this place. We paid a less for a much better room at the beginning of our stay in St. Thomas. The property need to be cleaned up, and our room needs a paint job and the title replaced. I do not know if the other rooms were the same as ours. Trim up the plants and move the trash bin away from where the guests have to walk.

- Vanessa (8/5): - For the price, it was what I expected it to be. Good AC, friendly staff, walking distance to shops and restaurants downtown.
- avra (10/5): Authentic island living. - A taste of authentic island living right in the middle of town offering convenient walking distance to all Charlotte Amalie has to offer. Great west indian cuisine prepared by Chef Natalie. Beer & soda available on premises. Parking for a couple of vehicles if you have a rental. Clean, safe and a bargain at the price. A/C, cable, wi-fi, complimentary breakfast coffee.
- Rachael (10/5): ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - Everything was PERFECT! Exceeded my expectations.
- Jonathan (10/5): - Muy buena la experiencia en la estadia! Muy buena atencion y buen trato departe de los empleados.
- Scott (7/5): Good -
- Christopher (10/5): - The property was getting some renovation when we stayed (fresh paint and maybe more) but was about perfect for our one-night stay. Great location that is walkable to lots of things to see in Charlotte Amalie, clean and quiet. The proprietor was friendly and knowledgeable. Happy to recommend Midtown Guest House.
- Alessandra (10/5): Great spot for a single night close to town - Great location Very dated
- Ben (8/5): Convenient to town with comfortable accomodations. - Great location and easy access to town. Room was fine for a single overnight but would probably not stay there long-term. Staff was great!
- Adam (7/5): Good -
- Jenifer (10/5): Exceptional - Location was fantastic! Staff was super nice! Rooms are small but very clean and was all we needed ! No complaints . Place was perfect will absolutely stay again.
- Tracy (9/5): Great - served a great purpose for us. - It was perfect for what we needed. We were actually on our way to St. John and needed one night, but this met exactly what we needed. Just like in all of downtown, parking is a struggle, but the owner made sure we had a place. Also, it’s a small place, so no elevator. But neither of those was a big deal.
- Terry (10/5): - Owner was great
- Scott (7/5): Good -
- Etta (8/5): Nice hide out. - Only one thing could be add is a small fridge. The place is in a good location and the room that I stayed in I fell in love with the bed. The people were very helpful.
- Hughland (10/5): Exceptional -
- Pamela (10/5): - Property was older but clean and very convenient. The owner and wife were very helpful and friendly and personable! The good at the restaurant where the owners wife cooked was delicious and a great deal!
- Ariel (8/5): - Great place
- Marcia (10/5): - Friendly front desk staff and very clean!
- Colin (10/5): Reccommended - Nice clean rooms. Friendly helpful staff. Great location. Good lighting. Comfy beds.
- scott (6/5): - Good price for an average property. Only a couple of parking spaces available, many fewer than rooms rented. Comfortable bed, spartan bathroom. Stay here for the low price, not for beauty or charm or modern touches. Old place in central area of town, comfortable, small and tighter than a regular chain hotel. feels like there are a lot of stairs to climb for a 3 story building. Good for a night or two if you want to be down in the urban core rather than up the hills with a view.
- Heidi (10/5): - This was a very basic room that we only stayed in for one night. It served our purpose.
- Seth (10/5): Very enjoyable - Clean friendly hospitable
- Matthew (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hobbs (10/5): Exceptional - The people at Midtown are very accommodation oriented and the Hotel itself is the most laid back, quiet place I've been to.
- John (8/5): Good overnight in St Thomas to begin our USVI vacation - We needed a place to overnight as we transited through St Thomas. Midtown Guest House was a good solution to that need. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff was great. The location was good as well, near enough to food and shopping so we could fill in a couple of things. We would stay here again under similar circumstances.
- Johnny (8/5): Accommodating, economical and a great location. - The owner was great and very helpful. Location was excellent and the price was right.
- Vernon (9/5): Superb - Conveniently located near waterfront restaurants and bars
- charles (8/5): - The hotel was a good choice for people that wanted to be close to the downtown area. Very good restaurants and shopping in the area. Also, close to some historic areas if you're interested in that. The staff is friendly and always willing to help you. Beds are decent but not not great. Water pressure was disappointing but at least you had hot water. Air con worked excellent.
- Mark (8/5): - The property is an older property and needs some basic maintenance. We stayed for a night and I would call it a good choice. It wouldn’t be my first choice for a longer stay.
- Kindt (9/5): Superb -
- Westt1234 (6/5): Pleasant -
- Carlos (8/5): Very good -
- Tom (9/5): a welcomming place. well located. - location, great staff
- Chris (8/5): - It was great besides The beeping noises all night, long right outside the window
- Elroy (10/5): - The overall stay was great, the property was way better than expected and would recommend to anyone in the future.
- Tina (10/5): Amazing - I loved the comfort and the kindness of the staff. The owner was amazing 👏 N/A
- Tina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Petrina (6/5): Best price in town - Close to midtown, although everything closed early and no Uber available There is no Uber Eat or Uber driver, and everything closed early. There is no microwave in the room, but the price is affordable
- Pearline (8/5): Very good -
- Kendrea (8/5): Very good -
- Patricia P (10/5): - I would stay there again, Actually! l will recommend Midtown Guests House to anyone.
- L. (3/5): Poor -
- Melissa (10/5): Unbeatable location and price, Affordable yet a comfortable stay. - My stay here as a solo traveler was absolutely amazing. The room was simple but met every need. It was clean and a decent size for a stay for 5 days. The staff was so friendly and very helpful. The location was right downtown so you are close to everything. I felt safe and would 100% recommend if you need an affordable but comfortable stay. Sometimes the power would flicker but I’ve experienced that in other countries as well.
- Jose (10/5): Exceptional -
- Annina (8/5): - Lovely, but very basic. Great for a quick stay. Hosts were very nice. Just lacked early morning office and coffee so if you have an early morning book taxi etc in advance. AC worked great! Super close to all. Hair dryer is hidden in night stand drawer and ice is on first floor.
- Rainey (10/5): Exceptional -
- Larry (4/5): - Old and in poor area
- Destination (9/5): Superb - The staff was nice , the breakfast was AMAZING. I had a great conversation with the owner and I had breakfast everyday and it was worth it. I didn't have to pay for parking and the location was close to the airport. nothing to complain about.
- Serena (10/5): - The Guest House was close to the downtown area/airport. They were nit able to serve dinner,
you had to find another restaurant within walking distance.
- Kathryn (9/5): Superb -
- Eva (10/5): Exceptional -
- Claytrailla (10/5): - Nice
- Grace (10/5): It was marvelous - The staff was incredibly nice and very helpful. The rooms were good beds comfy. The food was delicious . Felt more like a bed and breakfast than hotel. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay. Definitely recommend Nothing really. All was very nice. If anything new pillows is all I would recommend.
- Nicholas (3/5): Location was the best thing about this stay - The location is the best part of this establishment Checking was fast and efficient The place needs serious renovations tho, outside grounds look like a junk yard. In room (305) The AC which is on the ground is inadequate and just blows under the bed making the already small space feeling humid and cluster. Huge gaps under the door and in other parts of the apartment produced a none stop swarm of mosquitoes which we had to constantly kill throughout the day and night, that led to limited sleep and reluctants in chilling out inside.the final metal steps leading up to the apartment had alota rust, heavier guest should be caucious..The little shop inside the front office was convenient for small snacks and drinks if you didn't feel like going on the road but the restaurant side of it wasn't during our stay.. Even tho its a budget apartment conveniently situated close to alot of stuff it needs a major face lift.
- Tammie (7/5): Good - Location and kind owners.
- Marta (10/5): Exceptional - they're remodeling and our room was one of the newest ones, for us it was perfect, clean, very friendly and helpful staff, they have a restaurant downstairs with amazing Johnny Cakes, they have parking for their guests, quiet, location is right in downtown, close to many restaurants, overall great stay! the only issue was the shower pressure was bad and the view from our window wasn't the best
- Tan (8/5): Very good - Great staff, fair value for the price. Parking can be problematic.
- Demonterio (10/5): Exceptional -
- Harrell (8/5): It was pleasant and the staff were very accomodating -
- Matthew (6/5): - Interior courtyard style, walkable to downtown Charlotte Amalie. Simple and cheap. Perfect if you're looking for a place to crash for the evening.
- Beverley (6/5): You pay for what you get - The gentleman I met at the reception was very nice and helpful. The lady on the evening/night shift was okay, but she could be more pleasant.
The room was very clean, and the bed was comfortable The entrance of the guest house appeared dingy. The location looked sketchy. The taxi driver refused to let me off at the entrance and let me off at the stoplight beside a bushy lot. That was not the fault of the guest house. The taxi man was very rude with bad behavior.
- Jules (4/5): Disappointing - Bed bugs, dirty sheets
- Ben (6/5): - Construction going on during stay. Loud during the day. Check in not very friendly
- James (10/5): - Decent budget accommodations in the center of Charlotte Amalie managed by a responsive staff. There's a café on premises offering complimentary coffee and reasonably priced breakfast and lunch items which is nice as there aren't many restaurants very close by. The A/C was inadequate as it was poorly installed at floor level and window's louvers could not be fully closed. The ceiling fan did not work but the staff provided a standing fan. Mosquitoes were an occasional problem.
- Raven (9/5): Superb - Low cost very friendly staff , has cafe on site with really good food . Location was central to a lot of things as well . Beds very comfy Tight parking , chicken waking us up in the morning
- Jennele (10/5): Exceptional - The lady was incredibly helpful getting our rooms ready and walking directions to the local spots.
- Kriti (6/5): - Hotel is under renovation, so the water wasn’t working (either hot or very hot) - no cold water. Had a bolt sticking out by my pillow (didn’t see it until the morning). Owner was nice but the hotel is in rough shape right now. Very convenient location.
