I arrived about 40 minutes before my two family members arrived and I was looked after by the most friendliest staff I have ever had the pleasure meeting. Bonney was my first point of contact and she went out of her way to make sure that I was looked after until my family arrived. The other staff on were just as friendly but unfortunately I didn't get their names. Everybody was so cheerful and helpful for the whole time we were there for lunch today 10 Nov 25. - G1690CTlizb (10/5): Crafers is our ‘go to’ - We really can’t fault Crafers. Our second stay and if we’re in the Adelaide Hills again we won’t hesitate to book Crafers. Apart from the very comfortable, beautifully decorated rooms, the staff truly go out of their way to make your stay delightful. Great inclusions such as the breakfast bar with tasty continental treats.
- FitzysFinest (10/5): Best hotel in the country! - Everything about our 3-day stay was beyond amazing. Let's start with the greeting from Jo...we felt like we were important, Jo greeted us like old friends and gave us the tour of the hotel (jaw-dropping) and ended with showing us our room. A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!! the balcony, the Tim tams in the fridge, the bathroom, just all stunning, not to forget a gas fireplace in our room! Nothing during our stay was a problem, we ate in the restaurant 2 of of the 3 nights there and the meals were incredible. Then there was Jess, our waitress for both nights...what an asset to the establishment this young lady is. Polite, on point, and beautiful energy to be in the presence of. Jess made our dinners an even more enjoyable experience, along with all her colleagues including the lovely bearded fellow that I cannot recall his name. The housekeeping team, now that's the icing on the cake....our room was pristine, they were so polite, so humble....we felt looked after and cared for like we were family staying in the hotel. I also was given a private tour of the extensive and incredible wine cellar...the owners own collection and it blew my mind. The last thing is the use of the quality products such as Sheridan Towels and linen, top notch pillows, a beautiful bath which I popped some locally sourced bath salts in to have a little relaxation spa session of my own whilst the hubbard sampled the local beers at the bar! We cannot recommend this hotel with enough stars and would even go as far as saying if you're staying in Adelaide, don't bother with accommodation down the hill, just stay at the Crafers Hotel and use it as your base. We explored Mt Lofty (what a hike), Hahndorf, Macclesfield, Longview Vineyard and Day Spa, Victor Harbor, Encounter Bay, Stirling, and even did the Adelaide Oval Roof Walk all in the 3 days of our stay. Even the lady who checked us out at 7:30am was so accomodating and lovely. Thank you Crafers Hotel....bringing back old school courtesy, kindness and sense of family to your hotel guests. Our waiter, David, was friendly and knowledgable and Sandy ensured we had a smooth check in. Even though the hotel is situated near the freeway, you rarely heard the traffic. I’d suggest not booking the Norfolk Room, as it is next to the open kitchenette and Housekeeping, so noisy in the mornings.

The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the shower with Aesop products felt like such a treat. The fireplace in the room made it feel cozy and special, and it was so nice to have coffee and fresh croissants available in the kitchenette. Everything was thoughtful, stylish, and relaxing - a perfect base to enjoy the Adelaide Hills. Highly recommend!

We have travelled widely and stayed in many hotels and other accommodation in Australia and overseas, and the Crafers is one of the best. We stayed for three nights (the Lofty Room) and found everything to be perfect - the room, facilities, staff, location and food (breakfast kitchen near the room and the dining areas downstairs). The Crafers Hotel totally deserves a five-star rating - or even higher!

- timmI7807SN (10/5): Best breakfast ever! - My husband and I stayed two nights in this hotel in August 2025. We stayed in the Mount lofty room. It was large, luxurious, clean and comfortable. The room had a fire place, a large bathroom and a balcony. We stayed for a wedding nearby (Mt lofty house) but adored the hotel. Staff were professional, friendly not very noticeable, but they were there when you needed them. The hotel has a communal kitchen accessible to all patrons but you never saw anyone else. The kitchen was clean and had basics available such as breads, coffee (machine and kettle) microwave, fruit, cereal and yoghurt-a wonderful idea I wish all hotels would adaopt. The little things were the best, small toiletries to cover everything (including make up wipes), luxury soaps and personal care products, daily newspaper delivered to your door (a must while I lay in bed with the fire place roaring eating my complimentary breakfast), clean robes and slippers, complimentary snacks and water, welcome chocolates with a welcome personalised note with a discount voucher for a nearby restaurant and 2 drink vouchers. I cannot wait to come back!

- Karelle (10/5): - What a beautiful hotel! We stayed in the Sawyer room with the gas fireplace. Izzy was very efficient and friendly during check in and very helpful with our dinner reservation at the hotel also. Bed was very comfortable and room was cosy on a cold rainy day. We did struggle to make the bathroom warm and to increase the temp of the floor but that’s an issue for us as we didn't flag with the staff. A continental breakfast in the breakfast room was provided also. Would definitely stay again.

- rae06 (10/5): Absolutely charming! - I checked into the Heritage room for two nights after visiting Adelaide for work, and I didn’t want to leave. The room is perfect and all of the amenities are too notch (Aesop and the fluffiest towels). Everyone is super friendly and helpful with recommendations on places to visit in Adelaide Hills. The food was great - both at the restaurant and the bar. I would definitely come back and enjoy this cozy spot anytime.
- Nicole (10/5): - This is one of the best hotels in the Adelaide Hills area. It might look like it's just a room above a pub - it's not. It's a beautiful vintage hotel with a restaurant and bar downstairs and gorgeous well appointed rooms upstairs with big beds, gas fireplaces and huge bathtubs for luxurious evenings. I have stayed here twice now and I look forward to coming back again. It's wonderful.

- JoyW491 (10/5): A delightful little hotel - Us three 82 year olds walked the Pioneer Womens Trail from Verdun to Adelaide but decided to make it an enjoyable leisurely two day excursion staying over night at the Crafers hotel. So glad we did - what a delight this little hotel is - good old fashioned values and service with modern conveniences. The staff were so engaged, friendly and helpful. I have eaten here in the restaurant many times but had not realised they had accommodation too as well as good food. Can thoroughly recommend a stay there.
- Cas38 (6/5): Wont go back. Unpleasant sound environment... acoustically stressfull - The music is too loud and there is always a flashing screen in your face or the face of your compainions. So, its NOT a good pub to meet in if you want to talk. They refuse to turn down the music, so go somewhere else if you like actually talking to your friends or family.
- DarrenB493 (10/5): Lovely romantic getaway - Surprised my partner for Valentines 2025 with a 2 night stay at this lovely historic hotel. Beautiful location in the hills only 30 minute drive from the CBD. We stayed in the Tiers Room beautiful decor with the 5* hotel features, access to a private balcony which we enjoyed the continental breakfast included as part of our stay from the shared breakfast area including laundry facilities. Everything has been very well thought out. The staff in the hotel / bistro were welcoming including the chef. More like a restaurant experience, great food and service. The wine room was a great experience with a wide selection of wines. Very close to the surrounding areas 10/10

- n1colla (8/5): Great food and room customer service needs attention - all too busy with the restaurant to engage with the hotel guests - Was a lovely room we were greeted by a lovely young gentleman and shown to our room. The room is comfortable with a fire and huge luxurious bathroom plus access to a verandah. The restaurant served beautiful food, they squeezed us in so very grateful for that as it is really busy! Prebook would be my advice! Not to detract from the stay the fact that it was so busy meant no one really there to look after you as a hotel guest. We did not receive our botttle of wine of platter, we had to ask as we were checking out (not the friendliest of people this lady) - had to go hunting for them, felt awkward mentioning the lack of fare that was promised. No real apology, thrust a bottle of wine on us! We’re not able to do a wine tasting either (should have also been part of the package) so go for just a stay and a beautiful meal - ✅ tick. Wait for any of the inclusions - a definite that you would be waiting a long time. So they have the set up right but just don’t have the engaging customer service or time for those staying there!!!

Elegant and spacious room, complimentary mini bar which was replenished daily, delicious breakfast, quality tolietries (Aesop all the way!), fine wine and good food. This was truly a piece of heaven for us. A huge thank you for the kindness and hospitality of all staff. Very rare to have it all ticked and definitely one of the very best value stay. Will be back. :)
- Maria Gracia (10/5): - We stayed only one night and loved the experience. The room was large, comfortable and and tastefully decorated, the bed was very comfortable, the shower was great. The service was good and performed by well trained and professional staff. There were little details that made the experience more enjoyable like the personal welcoming card with chocolates on the desk and the voucher for a free drink which we used with our dinner. I did not use the laundry facility but I thought that having access to a washing and drying machine as a free service was a real plus for travellers. The continental breakfast included was a self service one in a well stocked room. We had dinner at the hotel and chose the "cart blanch" meal set for two and we were amazed by the quality, the generous portions and by how delicious and well presented all the dishes were which was an absolute stand out for us. We would highly recommended Crafers Hotel.

Perfect if you don’t want to stay in the heart of Hahndorf - the hotel is about a 5 min drive and in a more isolated area but after a long day was so worth going to. - GrandTour30540397758 (10/5): 5* hotel experience in the hills - What a wonderful surprise staying at Crafers turned out to be. We stayed in the Norfolk room which was quiet and comfortable. We were greeted with personalised service, escorted to our room and all facilities explained (how to access after hours etc). Our room was more than adequate and comfortable with a king size bed and all mod cons (iron / board / mini fridge / tea / coffee) complete with complimentary snacks / soft drinks. The breakfast kitchen was amazing - cereal / croissants / banana bread / fresh fruit / yoghurts and a coffee machine ! On returning to the hotel after midnight we were able to have some tea & toast before bed ! We had a late lunch in the bar and can recommend the very diverse wine list for wine lovers! The only negative was the hotel car park - not big enough to service its patrons, it was very difficult to get a space due to the lunch / dinner service. Perhaps a consideration to allocate guest parking / pass for those staying overnight. Will definitely recommend to our friends and family and will be back for another stay ! We loved it.

As I work in the hospitality field I can be a little critical about service but it's probably one of the best stays I've had in Australia. We stayed in the Tiers suite, it was all the little touches I appreciated , the free mini bar items, the chocolates and the beautiful Aesop toiletries. We dined both nights and would rate all staff a 10 out of ten. Particularly impressed with their wine and menu knowledge. - Sarah (10/5): Elegant luxury - A step back in time into a time when service mattered. The rooms are set above the restaurant area but I couldn't hear a peep- wonderfully soundproofed. The rooms delivery lux feels and with complementary continental breakfast and a washer and dryer this made for an amazing mid-road trip stay. The staff were professional and helpful. Only issue was accessing the hotel was limited to coming through the dining room or via the bottle shop drive through.

- Susan (10/5): - Lovely old hotel with loads of character. The staff were very friendly and efficient. Our room was comfortable and well equipped. We had dinner in the bistro on both evenings and thoroughly enjoyed the food. Breakfast was set up in the upstairs kitchen and consisted of cereals, bread, croissants, fresh fruit, juice and yogurt. There was a coffee maker, washing machine, dryer and fish washer.

Quiet rooms allowed for a peaceful night’s rest in the most comfortable bed with soft, dreamy pillows. We couldn’t ask for more and look forward to returning.

Whilst we didn’t need it, there are guest laundry facilities which could be very helpful if you are stopping at Crafers mid trip or end of trip. The staff were also very kind to store our luggage for a few days while we drove around to other regions.

- Freedom67387000196 (10/5): Gorgeous Boutique Hotel - From the time we arrived we were warmly greeted by Sandie who showed us to our beautiful boutique room that was filled with top notch quality everything. Sandie went through how to use and operate facilities in room and what was available to us (everything, including contents of the mini bar and breakfast facilities )! From quality bedding, Sheridan towels, Aesop bathroom products, heated bathroom flooring, the list goes on, however over and above all of that was the staff from the restaurant to the lovely people that make up our rooms to look and feel so great - absolutely everyone was so lovely, professional, helpful and absolutely couldn’t do enough for us. I could honestly keep going on about how wonderful our stay at Crafters Hotel was because it was honestly of the highest quality and experience that we have come across including a lot of places world wide that we have been to. We had a shady balcony to enjoy a drink before dinner and breakfast. Dining at Crafers was a wonderful experience. Highly recommend staying here.

Access to a kitchenette and daily breakfast provisions were much appreciated inclusions. All the staff were were very friendly. It was surprisingly quiet too given the hotel below. It was a convenient location for us to access the hills attractions as well as visiting the city. Highly recommended.

Well equipped rooms with access to a kitchen with breakfast essentials, hot croissants at 8am, a washing machine and dryer and delivered newspapers. A comfortable bed, clean room with the little extras and most importantly wonderful staff, helpful and friendly; everyone from our arrival to the lovely cleaners who equipped us with extra water for our bike ride on departure. Everything was done well. We will be back.

- Fionav269 (10/5): Luxurious heritage experience - What a beautiful hotel, a truly luxurious experience. Warm and excellent service, spectacular food in the restaurant, and the room was just beautiful. We were in the Heritage room, with a King bed, gas fireplace, gorgeous balcony where we ate breakfast daily, and the bathroom was huge, a luxury fit out with a stand alone bath, fabulous after a big day exploring nearby vineyards. Our room was serviced daily by the lovely housekeeping ladies, and the minibar was full of complementary snacks. There was a lift to get to the first floor. We couldn't fault it, and will return.
- Cas38 (6/5): Too loud. Screen ruins cozy "Hills" pub fireside atmosphere. - Met friends for a late Sunday glass of wine. We wanted to chat. We had to shout and struggle to hear and staff refused to reduce the volume of the noise (music) and they also refused to turn off the obscenely large screen (flashing light in everyones faces) , that not a single person was looking at. I got a condescending and rude response to a polite request. I should have known cos their Stirling establishment is so loud that no locals go there much anymore.

- June (10/5): - Whilst Crafers itself is a tiny village, the Hotel is splendid with beautiful rooms, well set out and attractive dining areas, with and easy elegance Bistro and a more casual, but comfortable all-day eating area. If you like to walk, it’s only 40 min round trip to Stirling (4 mins drive) and 15-20 mins drive to Hahndorf and other Hills towns.
