- Verified traveler (10/5): - The Lake Cowichan Lodge is an older but clean and comfortable hotel. The room I rented consisted of a suite with a separate bedroom and had a kitchenette with a full size fridge and stove. I would recommend the LCL to any price conscious traveller.

- Robert (8/5): - The property is dated, however it is functional. The beds were a tad lumpy. The smell of wet dog was noticeable in the hallways but not in the room. All that being said it worked out for what we needed.

They need to remove the pee soaked carpeting. Also the old green carpets in the room were stained, torn and just overall gave me the ick. Bedroom and restroom were fine. I think people live full time in the hotel, noise from the room above was loud in the morning. Wouldn't recommend

We were surprised by the size of the room. My only suggestion is the blankets were thin and there were no extra blankets in the closets. - Janette (6/5): - There was nothing unique about the property What I didn't like was the fact the kitchen was dirty the bathroom mirror was dirty; gum stuck to the carpet. The faucet in kitchen there was not pressure for the water. The stove and oven is disgusting.
- James (10/5): It’s older, but always clean and comfortable. - I always stay there when in the cow, it is an older building but it is always clean and quiet. The desk clerk is always very friendly and helpful. One of the nicer places to stay on the hockey circuit.

Also, there was smoking smell everywhere and cold water tap was not working of sink. It was my one of the bad trip through expedia .

Faucet and shower were broken and stayed on at the same time - great if you want to have a bath while getting sprayed in the face by the shower. Bed was rock hard and squeaked every time you moved.

- Terry (6/5): Overnight stay on Pacific Marine Circuit - Property seemed rather run down and even though the room/suite was quite large it was let down by a lack of attention to detail eg light bulbs out, dirty fridge, dirty cutlery drawer, missing cutlery, poor quality and burnt pan - comfortable night after thinking we might move but it was a good night’s sleep, quiet and despite the shortcomings we were reasonably comfortable - however we would probably not stay there again.
- Chau (8/5): - This is a small no-frill but clean walk-up hotel in Lake Cowichan. Our room looks to be newly renovated with new bathroom and clean new furniture. We had a one bedroom suite which is more like an apartment with a small kitchen and dining table. Huge bathroom very new and clean but sadly the shower did not work well but that could be fixed (hopefully!)

Water cool after one short shower, maybe hot water tank needs to be turned up prior to guests arriving. Overall, we would stay again and recommend to others.

Rooms sub standard with deadbolt lock the only form of security. Weird fold out couch bed made in the living area. Bathroom updates made it feel good while there, but the rest of the room was pretty crummy.

From the pictures online I was expecting a somewhat dated and tired property. It was mainly the outdated colour scheme that gave that impression. It was pleasant surprise that everything was well maintained and fresh.

I’ve always liked the size and convenience of the suites with kitchens, But this time I was also pleasantly surprised by the recent room upgrades, new furniture, etc. In addition to being very clean and comfortable, it was very quiet. The staff were pleasant, personable and helpful. All in all a very pleasant stay. Thumbs up!
