Guest Reviews
- Murray (8/5): - Breakfast was fabulous. Dinner was really good as well. Big meals.
- Ian G (10/5): - Great old school pub. We stayed whilst riding the rail trail. Love old school.
- Jennifer (8/5): - Nicely decorated, very welcoming and as a solo female traveler I felt very safe. Bathroom facilities could do with an upgrade.
No tv, fridge or microwave available
- DONALD (8/5): - Friendly staff, interesting patrons to chat with at the bar, great meal.
- Janelle (10/5): - Loved the friendly country atmosphere. The bed was very comfortable and the evening meal was enormous and very tasty. Our friends who stayed somewhere else were welcomed for the continental breakfast which was beyond generous. Many thanks for a top stay.
- Myra (8/5): - We enjoyed our stay and for the price of what we payed it was awesome. A good place to bring a group of us next time.
- Linda (8/5): - It was a great overnight stay at the pub after doing the rail trail. The rooms are basic, the bed was comfortable and the meal was delicious
- Peter (8/5): - Old and a bit tired, but very reasonably priced with a good restaurant and very friendly staff.
- Ken (10/5): - Old style country pub Room spacious old air con did the job Bed good and very cozy Shared bathroom shower excellent Had a dining room special on the Thursday we were there tremendous value and great food Very cheap accom with basic breakfast included all in all great value
- Liz (8/5): - Unique old pub, with a lot of character. Interesting art on all walls, mixed in the antiques. Friendly, welcoming staff and great value for money: even provided a bit of breakfast. Rooms had sinks and heating/cooling. The upstairs balcony was kitted out for comfy sitting to watch the world go by, or the sun to come up. Can't get any better for the price.
- Matthew (10/5): - Great place
- Luke (8/5): - This is a lovely country pub where the rooms are clean with a comfortable bed and excellent food that has been ssociated with rural pub's for years.
- N'Dine (8/5): - The room was simple and practical. The AC is only on cooling but there was a oil heater in the room that kept the chill away. The shared bathroom was clean. The staff were lovely. The downstairs restaurant was awesome! Also love most of the art around (some a bit intense for breakfast area 😂). The complimentary continental breakfast was great.
- Nicholas (10/5): - Great service and very family friendly
- Noreen (10/5): - Hotel, while the building is old, is clean, comfortable, central and the food was very good.
- Phillip (8/5): - Simple, basic pub accommodation, but clean, nice and well priced. Restaurant did great meals downstairs. Right in the middle of town and very convenient to the Rail Trail.
- Garry (10/5): - The staff’s warmth and commitment to making our stay exceptional extended even beyond our checkout, ensuring we felt welcomed and cared for right up until the very end.
- Linda (6/5): - The hotel is old and needs a revamp but it is clean. The staff are friendly and were helpful in storing our bicycles. We were able to leave them on the balcony. The bed was very comfortable.
- Andrew (8/5): - What a lovely old-school hotel on the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail. Great friendly staff and good food!
- Douglas (4/5): - Staff were friendly and helpful but the hotel is decades overdue for maintenance and refurbishment
- Janelle (8/5): - It is an old building with old amenities. Whilst they were not the cleanest, the water pressure was good and the hot water was hot.
Staff waited, after hotel closed, for me to arrive.
I was only guest that night, therefore had amenities all to myself.
I was provided comfortable queen bed with crisp white sheets, towel and complimentary toiletries.
The place was quiet and no street noise.
As a single female, I felt safe at all times.
It was ½ the price of motel and included a great continental breakfast.
For anyone on a budget, you can't beat here, especially with breakfast included.
For those who stop and expect five star service and accommodation on budget price are being unrealistic.
I will certainly stay again.
- Luke (10/5): - Good food and beer
- simon (8/5): - We
- Louise (10/5): - We loved our stay. The host was so warm, relaxed and friendly. The hotel has so much history and character and unique art works. Dinner was fabulous
- B (8/5): Comfortable and clean pub accomodation. - Friendly pub accomodation. Room was basic, clean and comfortable. Meals on site were great. The Friday night we were there was pretty lively to about 10:30pm. Saturday night we caught a movie a the picture theatre a few doors down and came back and it was very quiet making sleep easy. Good base for the BVRT and would stay again
- Jo (6/5): - The bed was comfy and the sheets were clean and the shower was powerful and hot. The place is a little run down. We had no towels but we did have two half empty bottles of water. Cheap and cheerful.
- karen (10/5): - Very affordable
- Michelle (10/5): - Loved the old Queenslander and the feel you get while staying there. Enjoyed a few drinks while the lovely staff helped in any way they could. Will definitely stay again.
- Matthew (8/5): - Friendly and helpful staff at this charming country pub hotel that’s offer a clean room with comfy beds and value for money.
- Kim (2/5): - The hotel is walking distance to everything you need. It is also a budget accommodation. There was a continental breakfast included in the price of the room. Whilst you don’t expect the Ritz you should be able to expect clean. The Hotel is cluttered and dirty. The rooms are old and dirty, the shared bathroom leaves a lot to be desired. Old should not equal dirt and neglect. The room curtains smell of cigarette smoke and the ‘lovely’ old veranda is simply cluttered, dirty and full of smokers which means your room smells of cigarette smoke.
The walls are thin and you can clearly hear the conversations being had.
This Hotel has great food, cold beer and friendly staff but I can’t recommend it for accommodation.
- Maree (10/5): - Old hotel.
- Belinda (10/5): - I would just like to say that I will be letting everyone know that this is a really nice and friendly place to stay or even for a getaway like I did for the weekend. The staff were absolutely wonderful and welcomed me as soon as I arrived there.
- Graham (10/5): - The lady running the place was kind, friendly and made check-in seem less. This is a great country pub with the basics you need.
- Rebecca (8/5): - A comfortable country pub. Recommend it
- Gary (10/5): - Great country pub with welcoming people and atmosphere, great food and interesting features (art).
- Keith (8/5): - The property was "very" unique.
The owners were nice but the place really needs to reflect the serious lack of any decent amenities. Won't be going back. :(
- peter (8/5): - Old hotel but clean and friendly
- Angela (10/5): - Friendly staff, good dinner and nice to have breakfast included in price. Close to rail trail and Watts Bridge Airshow
- Joanna (8/5): Good stop for a tired cyclist - Great room with balcony onto street
I stayed in the hotel for dinner both nights and enjoyed good quality pub food at cheap prices; it was all I needed after tough days on the Rail Trail
- James (10/5): - Simple country hotel. Lovely people who run the hotel, nice eating area.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Very unpleasant experience. Would not recommend it to anyone.
- DP (6/5): Cheap hotel with friendly staff - Stayed just one night. The staff were very friendly. The meals looked amazing (we didn't eat there, but should have).
Own internet didn't work but wifi did.
A decent option in an out of the way place.
- Maddy (2/5): Neglected and dirty - The upstairs accommodation area in a state of disrepair and uncleanliness. Good thing I remembered to bring body wash as no soap in room. Used my fingernail to try to screw the deadbolt back on the bedroom door as was falling off. Dirty marks on bed linen. Looked like a bootprint. Appeared to be excrement smeared over the carpet outside the shared bathroom and toilet area. Disgusting. Couldn’t get out of there fast enough. No free wifi. Entire hotel was cold. Significant public health issues.
