Guest Reviews
- Dawn (10/5): Great stay - All of it Nothing
- Martin (10/5): Great stay. - Easy to find and a great stay after the ferry from Caen. Great walks nearby around the lakes. Great breakfast and the staff are wonderful. Nothing
- Richard (10/5): Perfect village hotel - Modern and comfortable N/A
- Ivelin (10/5): -
- Megan (8/5): Was nice, nothing more/ nothing less - We liked the ease of check in and registering the car One of the shower heads didn’t work - didn’t want to wash my hair, so made showering awkward. Was also very slippery in the bathroom.
The ironing board was not safe, any pressure made it collapse.
The facilities should be included for residents at the hotel and breakfast as expensive (£17pp) with no option of a subsidised breakfast option only the buffet.
- Mark (10/5): -
- Keely (3/5): Very average - Really nice location Food wasn’t great breakfast was awful beds were too singled put together so was falling down the middle during the night
- Mzangwa (9/5): - Clean rooms and friendly staff

- IAN (8/5): Pleasant overnight for a break in a longer journey or a work related stay. - Good location, plentiful parking bright and modern hotel which clearly is a big part of the local community due to its health club. Easily accessible and friendly efficient staff. Only minor gripe was the rigidity of clearing away at breakfast. Not everyone is on a work schedule and to serve only till 9.00 is doing a dis-service to the leisure guests. To have the cooked breakfast removed when I was clearly still on earlier courses was poor. To be fair, the staff did bring a plate of the cooked back out to me but the mood was gone.
- Simon (10/5): -
- Rebecca (10/5): Excellent hotel - Loved the size of our room, the comfort of the bed, the facilities, the bathroom and the privacy glass. Dyson fan and air con were great too.
Nice friendly and helpful staff
Surprised at the road noise-that we couldn't hear even though we were very close.
We would definitely stay again and highly recommend. Minor things-TV a little too big and close to the bed, and a few marks on bed covers and toilet, but no problem really.
- Noel (7/5): Disappointed - The room was nice and clean and the facilities were good. Well I book a room which included the GYM and went to use it was told that the GYM was open 24/7 by staff and when I went to use it in the morning was told the GYM before 730 in the morning was only for GYM members.im sure I'm class as a membership as my booking for room gives me access to GYM.
- Alisha (8/5): Amazing, had a staff member speak to me like I was below them but apart from that superb!! - Cleanliness and set up Not much
- Ali (4/5): Not the best hotel for travel for work kind of hotel. - High quality equipment Very small room
The dressy is filled with coffee machine and the heater. The deal can't be used for work.
The AC is set to 19 degrees COOL only so you world need to turn on the heater on the desk to hear and AC on to keep the room dry. Not ideal really.
- Nick (7/5): -
- Bradley (4/5): Awful - Nothing This is a confused gym with hotel rooms. We went on business and found it awful. The hotel is focused around being a gym and sport bar, so it's loud and full of groups. 6am in the room we had to listen to gym classes. If you want a gym, sports bar and are not on business or couple break then this is fine.

- Nikkola (8/5): Cosy - I liked the location, and the pool area was amazing It wasn’t really explained about how to use the lockers, the toilet seat also had a few marks on and one of our lamps was dim! I do think it would be nice to offer robes and slippers for hotel guests as we walked down in coats with swimming costume underneath and also would be nice to have toothpaste provided

- litsguru (8/5): Village Portsmouth stay - During my recent 2 week stay at the Village Portsmouth, I was pleased by the level of service from the staff, especially Charlotte when I initially checked in and sorting out my booking to ensure the room met my requirements.
- Webb (9/5): -
- Barry (10/5): -
- Terence (6/5): - room facilities good, common areas very busy as not just a hotel, but a family meeting venue with gym, swimming pool. evenings were rowdy, more a sports bar, I had to leave for food etc
- richard_mogg (10/5): Great short break at this lovely hotel. - Chloe in the restaurant was amazing, looked after us so well during our breakfasts, happy, helpful and hard working.
The hotel is perfect for a weekend stay, clean, comfortable relaxed and modern. The rooms are spacious and the beds are very good, shower facilities are also very good.
A lovely stay.
- Wright (9/5): The staff and facilities where amazing - The facilities
- Gamble (8/5): Great hotel. Great price - Room was good, nice and modern. Lots of parking. Bed was comfortable and there was a nice atmosphere in the bar. Breakfast staff attentive.
Thank you Bathroom was a bit small.
- Lorraine (10/5): -
- Douglas (9/5): -
- zoe (8/5): - Good location, comfortable hotel Breakfast was a bit hit and miss
- Jiggles99 (10/5): Little Break from the norm - Lovely stay at the Portsmouth Village hotel on their £99 package. Great way to get away without breaking the bank. Had a chill in their wellness centre, pool, sauna, jacuzzi and steam room before dinner in the Pub and Grill. Service and food was excellent in the Pub and Grill and big screens behind the central bar so if you want to watch the football it’s all there. Also had a very substantial Buffett breakfast. Comfy modern rooms maybe on the smaller side but well designed and fine. It’s conveniently located for Gun Wharf Quays and Hayling Island. Also an onsite Starbucks. The only thing we didn’t use was the gym which looked very big and modern. Would definately return.
- Georgia (10/5): -
- Sally (8/5): -
- Vicky (4/5): Disappointing - Location On the 2 nd floor and woke up with gym music definitely not comfortable
- Natasha (10/5): Lovely stay friendly and helpful staff. Good service al around amazing food - Very modern inside but clean and fresh Nothing
- clarehenn (6/5): overnight Ferry Stay - The room was quite small, and dark and the lighting for applying make up and doing hair was awful. Check in was easy we requested two rooms together which was accommodated to. We arrived quite late but that was no problem. Parking was easy. Breakfast well that was another story, the staff where great but the food not so, cold looked like it had been there a while one of the worse ones we have had for a while
- Michael (7/5): - Hotel staff were very friendly and room was excellent, never had breakfast so can't comment.... We ate on the Friday night and we were really disappointed with our meal..Chicken tikka which was dreadful and totally dry and tasteless, said too a member of staff who looked at us with disdain and offered no apology, finished our drinks and went upstairs......shame because we really the hotel and has a nice vibe too it.....
- clare (8/5): over night stay for ferry crossing - The room though small was adequate for one night Breakfast was awful, the food was dry and no taste one of the worse we have had in a long time.
- houghtonamanda (8/5): Easter break - Spent Easter Sunday Night at this hotel
We have stayed a few times before so new what to expect
Rooms clean
Swimming pool etc nice and clean
We ate in the pub/grill taking advantage of the roast sharing deal
The food was average but let down by cold plates been brought out after the two trays of roast meaning the food was getting cold
We was also a set of cutlery which never got brought to us when we asked a young lad I went and asked myself for the cutlery
Having said all this the meat was lovely, plenty of it and the Manager and young girl waitress were very friendly and helpful
When we said we didn’t like the pudding on offer the manager gave us another choice
Breakfast was buffet style but plenty of choice
We will definitely use again
- 543dyland (2/5): Poor service - Phoned by head office to add room credit on arrival I was informed bar was shutting at 21:30 when I went to use my room credit in the morning I was informed by bar manager that this was evening only, poor communication and customer service, please note bar shut early as the hotel took a booking from the travelling community but wouldn’t acknowledge this as the reason

- P3355RAjays (10/5): Chloe the star - We had a fantastic breakfast at the Village Hotel Bar & Grill, made even better by Chloe. She was incredibly welcoming, attentive without being intrusive, and had a great energy. It’s rare to find service this seamless—she’s a total credit to the team. We’ll definitely be back!
- mrc9891 (10/5): Lovely break - Had a lovely break and special shout out to Chloe the waitress she made my wife’s day!
- Donna (10/5): -
- 902stephenn (10/5): Grill&Bar - grill & bar friendly professional staff used regally, always friendly welcoming (Silva/Cloe)today
- Y1933ETscotts (10/5): Epic - My experience was very good, kallum was amazing at the last boogie bingo I attended. Highly recommended
- Gordon (9/5): -
- KirstyAD86 (8/5): Bed and breakfast - Lovely twin room for a one night stay. Everything we needed in the room. Including fresh towels, fan/heater and hairdryer.
Breakfast is always enjoyable, unlimited tea/coffee and hot or cold breakfast. The room had a privacy screen for the bathroom but the door is not included. Therefore if your moving around the room, you could see the person on the toilet. Not what me and my mum needed.
- Jake (10/5): -
- Stuart (6/5): - Basic hotel perfectly good
- Nigel (9/5): -
- greig (7/5): - Easy check in and good facilities and resturant opens late which is handy. Lady on reception very good Resturant staff were not great and no instructions about ordering at bar and then moaned when we helped ourselves to cutlery etc as we didn't have any
- Kate (8/5): Great stay, been better if offer 24hr gym access - Great breakfast, although some black pudding would be nice. Cooked lovely. Great facilities Loved it just disappointed that as a guest I could not use the gym until 6. For me that cut a workout very back if I wanted to have breakfast and to my client by 8. Suggest an extra payment for the 24 access.
Shower mat inside of it to prevent a slip as I almost went over! Lol
- brundle12026 (2/5): Village stay at Portsmouth - Been here before. Was brilliant. Took family back this time because of my last visit was so enjoyable. Wish I hadn’t. This time was embarrassing. Moody bar staff. Evening meal totally wrong and bill incorrect. Wish we hadn’t gone back. And sister got charged a bill that when she asked how this charge came about as incorrect they didn’t know and said pay and query later. So disappointing. Left feeling very cross.
- Roman (10/5): Great place to stay - Clean. Good parking. Lovely place to stay- love the Starbucks in the foyer. Perfect! No issues.
- Reece (5/5): - The bed was comfortable Well to noisy extractor fan from bathroom and constant banging all night
- Kennedy (10/5): Perfect 😌 - Perfection, really comforting stay and friendly staff Nothing everything was great
- Asiana (7/5): Decent, but better when it’s quiet. - Decent enough hotel, gym is decent, clean & usually quiet. rooms are okay. Beds are big & comfortable enough though So busy. & Pool/changing room facilities are so far from clean. Location is pretty rough for Portsmouth
- Reece (7/5): - Clean Small room
- J6582WNjenniferc (10/5): Mamma Mia sing along lunch - We had a great time at the Mumma Mia sing a long lunch. Kids loved being up and dancing, As did the adults. The food options were just right. It was very busy, all the staff on the floor were rushing about and delivering the food,Can only imagine the organised chaos behind the scenes. We were table 19, OK the food could of been hotter, but with so many people to serve, it was still edible. The portion size was good, Only thing I'd moan about was the lack of extras the 2 coeliac in our group missed out on-Cauliflower cheese, Stuffing, Yorkshire pud, Venue was decorated nicely, but them tall tress on the table did block the view to the stage. Drinks we had were reasonable priced. But, We still had a fab afternoon and would definitely come again.
- Thea (9/5): Great stay - This hotel is 5 minute drive from my friends so location was ideal. Very comfortable big bed too. I got a free upgrade to a club room which was wonderful as I could have a longer lie in in the morning. The room is a little bit of a squeeze. Window in the bathroom, the only one, was very small and looked out on the side of the building so little natural light. It’s not a big issue as you’re there to sleep.
- Bruno (8/5): To repeat - The gym is large and has many equipment available. Next time I would like to try the pool.
The pub is a great place to eat and watch TV.
I liked the design/appearance of the space.
The staff is welcoming and attentive. My mattress had a ditch on one side, which made the bed a bit uncomfortable. My coworkers didn’t have this situation, so their feedback is better on this topic.
During the night there was a lot of motorcycle noise on the road, which can be difficult to sleep for some people. From 6:00 am, anyone on the floors next to the reception may hear people in the gym dropping weights.
- anthonyfK9507HF (10/5): Incredible Service and Good Food - Dani provided excellent service at the Village Hotel. She was friendly, attentive, and made us feel very welcome throughout. The food was also very good, which made the experience even better. Dani’s helpful approach and positive attitude really stood out. A real credit to the team.
- fredrickb851 (10/5): Great time at the village hotel and gym club . - Sing along with ABBA and a great Sunday lunch, good fun, good company, thanks jess and Amanda who we met there xx
A great club

- Inspire24119341867 (6/5): Mamma Mia Mothers Day Lunch - We came for the Mammi Mia Mothers Day Lunch. The venue looked great and the welcome drink on arrival was a nice touch.
We were on table 20 and it was the furthest from the stage, with all the tall table decorations it was very hard to see the entertainers and did feel as though we were quite separated to the atmosphere and interactive parts.
Our main course took a long time to come out too. We were offered a free drink to apologise for the wait and once the food arrived, it was very tasty. Dessert was particularly nice.
- T300PZlisac (10/5): Lovely day staff very helpful - Lovely day spent with the family. Entertainment was good the grandkids loved dancing away to Abba as well as the adults. Food was nice only one thing was could have had some sauces on the tables. 😊
I would like to thank Natalie and Hannah who are always so helpful with our bookings.
- 605gemmag (10/5): Great day at mamma Mia Mother’s Day! - We went to the mamma Mia Mother’s Day event and absolutely loved it. It’s definitely worth ordering Prosecco before you go, as it is quite expensive. that’s the only negative.
The entertainment was great, we were located at the front and it wasn’t too loud, and plenty of room to dance.
The food was tasty, only thing was would have preferred a normal Yorkshire pudding rather than a giant one but the meal was really tasty!
Service was really fast and they are always friendly. We come on xmas day aswell.
Flamingo boss was a great DJ after the event for about 30 mins. Would have loved to have DJ longer but we moved to the other bar.
We were sat next to family friends as we linked our bookings.
We will definitely return we had a great day, like I said just does turn out very expensive with drinks!
- 961robt (6/5): Nice Hotel - The hotel is outside Portsmouth so unable to walk much, rooms are ok and food was reasonable. Location is noisy with the motorway
- Chelsey (10/5): -
- davrangers (2/5): Not good for sleep levels - A lovely room very clean and a great hotel however feels like the hotel has become second to everything else, hardly got any sleep coming in late from business to be greeted by very loud gym noise, music and shouting from staff from 8am onwards.
- Pete (10/5): Excellent place to stay, great facilities, good breakfast and restaurant if you need an evening meal or lunch. Stayed he - Well
Placed for business The staff seem to talk to you in a pre scripted type of way! If you try to engage with them in any way they just continue either their script! It’s quite funny really!!! 🤣
- Richmer (3/5): - Bed Bed was comfy that's was it .drinks well 9ver priced very dirty room and breakfast was cold .worst iv had
- Sam (10/5): -
- Talia (8/5): -
- Jamie (10/5): - Loved that I had two different women in that room in that one night so thank you for the opportunity 😜 The room service didn’t work
- Di (8/5): Good stay - Room was OK. We were in a club room, booked some time ago so we could use the pool facilities. Sadly an operation meant i was not able to usethem but a good part of the package. Room comfy. Nice shower. Breakfast and dinner ok. We found it odd that we were in a club room and were given 1 Club biscuit between us. Very strange to share a biscuit! We have stayed before and know about the toiet/ shower walls changingbut still dont like them!
- Robin (10/5): -
- Alison (1/5): Non existent - Nothing I was in hospital Everything bad attitude
- CoxmeisterF1 (10/5): Great stay; great food; really good coffee! - Have stayed at this hotel 2-3 times now and have not been disappointed yet. The hotel is great and offers some really good deals. The food in the bar is also very good with the coffee at breakfast being particularly good.
- Pete (8/5): - The room was comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful.
Charlotte who was working in reception on my arrival was very helpful and professional.
