It is an older motel from the exterior but has been lovingly renovated. The most comfortable bed I have stayed in. Incredibly clean and well appointed. Each room is themed with a story about it and a Tardis out the front. There is also an arcade and gaming room. I’m almost don’t want to write the review incase the place is booked out next time I travel through but genuinely the owner deserves all the success. An incredible experience

To take me, a stranger, in for a week for free and provide me with home cooked meals and amazing conversations was wonderful. I was made I feel safe and well cared for. I really appreciated all you did for me- thank you. During my stay I witnessed dozens of other people in need being cared for in the same way, both locals and travelers. I first walked to 'The Club Hotel' but it was closing due to the rising water and I'm so glad they sent me to the Acacia. I was gifted with an amazing letter from one of the students at St Josephs School that helped keep my spirits high. Even through this uncertain time, the community spirit of this country town is something I will forever remember and cherish. Gyselle

We were welcomed by the owner and he was very lovely and accommodating right from the moment we checked in. The room was clean, the beds were the comfortablest motel beds we have slept in ,The themed rooms and Game room was amazing the kids enjoyed everything about this motel. The kids also said the fastest wifi as well. I will certainly return next time in travel through. We loved everything

The air conditioner had been turned on, thereby ensuring the room was cool when we arrived 👍🙂 We went into town for about an hour - the room had been replenished - coffee biscuits etc. also the bed had been made and rubbish basket emptied. Remember we were only thete for 2 nights. Themed rooms make for an even more pleasant and different experience - very enjoyable, relaxing environment. 🙂👍. Great photo opportunities and everything for the whole family. Whatever positive experiences you have experienced at other motels/ hotels the Acacia will far exceed these on friendliness, cleanliness and difference ( themed rooms). The kids loved the retro arcade game machine and magnetic scrabble board. The beds were incredibly comfortable and the host Justin made us feel very welcome and cared for during our short stay. While we were looking out came the hilarious owner Justin who shared the story of his motel and how this all came to be, before fitting us with Dr Who outfits for a photo op. From the moment we arrived we were welcomed with open arms and given all the information that we needed to make our stay hassle free. The host, Justin, has poured his heart and soul into the themed rooms and this shines through with the pride in his voice when he tells the story behind it. The room we stayed in was 'The Surf Shack' and it had all the hallmarks of a 60's Elvis beach movie! The rooms were the cleanest I've ever experienced from a motel and I was super impressed with the functionality of the room considering it was cosy. The attention to detail by the host is well and truly above and beyond and we almost felt like family. The little details inside the individually themed rooms was absolutely first class. We are coming back just to see the other themes in the rooms. Our room even has proper freezer in the bar fridge. Absolutely no hesitation in recommending the Acacia Motel in Chinchilla. Travelling through on a work trip and this establishment was the clear highlight. So much thought and care has been put into Acacia and it shows in everything from the gorgeous rooms, to the recreation room and the Tardis in the garden. Legit 10 out of 10. Do yourself a favour and take a walk down memory lane at this wonderful hotel. The personal service and conversation with the owner/operators are worth the stay alone. Thank you!

- skymankidboy (10/5): An unexpected gem - I was intrigued by the website when looking for places to stay in Chinchilla, I wasn’t expecting a themed motel and was not disappointed. Justin - the owner, was more than accomodating and was really great to get along with. Definitely not your average stay. The walk to the town is really nice as you get to walk past the free museum, botanical garden, and tourist information centre. There’s loads of food nearby up and down the street too. Missing the place already, thanks for the best stay!
- Y5566ZIshaunam (10/5): Tardis Experience - If you're a Dr Who fan, and even if you're not, don't miss visiting the Acacia Motel for a photo op with the Tardis. We were caravaning but couldn't help stopping to have a look! Justin was very generous with is time and was happy to show us around and share the fascinating story of how it got there. The motel has many great themed rooms and a terrific games rooms bringing back lots of memories from our past. Thanks heaps Justin!
- fionnguala (10/5): Time warp experience with TARDIS - Me and my OH are nearing the end of a 2 month Queensland road trip, whizzing back to Brisbane. We checked the route from Roma and were intrigued by Chinchilla and in particular the Acacia Motel and its TARDIS. Being Whovians we just had to stop for a photo op. Justin (owner) popped out of the office to say Hi and then very generously gave us a tour of the amazing themed rooms which he has curated with original and commissioned pieces. It was a wonderful surprise to break up a long trip. Just a pity we didn't have the time to stay. I would definitely recommend the Acacia Motel, service and attention to detail is paramount in the experience here. Thanks a mil, Justin

- BiancaTrapp (10/5): Where motels and imagination collide - I stayed here recently and honestly, I don’t know if I slept in a motel room or wandered into a parallel universe. Every room has its own theme—think 80s nostalgia, a farmyard sleepover, a quiet library nook, surf shack vibes, and more. I half expected to open the door and end up in Narnia. Out the front? A full-sized TARDIS, because why not. The owner Justin even has Doctor Who outfits you can actually wear, which was the cherry on top of this already delightfully eccentric sundae. Practical side: it was spotless. The bed was ridiculously comfy. And the price? Let’s just say it felt like I paid motel rates but got theme park levels of fun. If you’re after sterile chain accommodation, keep driving. But if you want to feel like you’ve time-travelled into someone’s creative brain (while still enjoying fresh sheets and a good night’s sleep), this place is a gem.

The rooms were literally out of this world and soooo much thought has been put into the themed rooms. The games rooms was awesome and if ever you are travelling with kids this is the place to stay ( in the family room ). We definitely will be returning to stay again . Nothing about the property. It was awesome. Just remember the chinchilla rule about the showers !!

- H4848IHglennb (10/5): Best themed Motel ever. - Absolutely fantastic experience from check in to checkout. Justin’s (owner) passion for this motel is like no other. It is an older motel that has been modernly updated fixtures and furnishings. Each room has been renovated to an individual theme. The cleanliness of the rooms is about the best I have experienced in a Motel. The owner (Justin) even stating you could use a white glove in the rooms is after his cleaners are finished. The room costs are more than reasonable. You get a personal explanation of your rooms theme and also a tour of the games room which has old video console games from the 80’s that you can play free at no cost. This place has to be seen (stayed in) to appreciate.

The rooms are brilliantly themed and every effort is made to make the stay special from the Police Box “Tardis” at the entrance to the Social Arcade. The bed was super comfy and we enjoyed watching the Broncos match on the big screen tv.
