Guest Reviews
- Diana (8/5): - The property is beautiful and the reception staff extremely efficient and friendly.
The attitude of some of the restaurant staff needs improvement
- Yazmin (10/5): - Beautiful location and an amazing stay. The breakfast and dinner was delicious. Spa treatment was very relaxing. Would highly recommend!
- Joanne (8/5): - Great location, loved our room, unfortunately on arrival the corridors were still littered from the previous day, and the bar was covered in dirty glasses. When we did go for pre dinner drinks, they did not have the ingredients for one cocktail and didn’t know how to make a basic martini. However the food both at dinner and breakfast was delicious and the staff were helpful. I’d recommend this hotel but they could sharpen up in some areas.
- Sarah (10/5): - Really lovely hotel. The staff were very nice, the food was incredible, very nice spa treatments.
- Catriona (10/5): - Fabulous location, welcoming staff and lovely room.
- Chloe (10/5): - Wow! What a beautiful stay… so beautiful that we chose to stay an extra night. All staff were lovely and could not do more for you. The food was outstanding!
We will be back! x
- Peter (10/5): - The chateaux was amazing, beautiful rooms, beautiful location amazing staff Ill be back again
- Milena (10/5): - Dining outdoor in front of the wine yard
And the spaciousness and charms of the accommodation.
- Erin (10/5): - This property has an excellent restaurant onsite and the rooms are beautiful and spacious overlooking the vineyards. Excellent.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Outstanding! - Such a fabulous setting & building! The service was wonderful from all the staff from the moment we arrived. We were sad we only had one night there! We’ll be returning again another time!
- mohammad (10/5): - such a great hotel to stay, wonderful nature, great friendly staff, and a relaxed atmosphere
- Alexandra (10/5): - Absolutely loved our stay. Only issue was there was an opened beverage in the refrigerator when we arrived. Other than that, it was perfect! Staff was welcoming. Offered to take our picture many times. Very accommodating. Was a spectacular getaway.
- Robert (10/5): - We give this property a five star rating because of its location and tranquility, the welcoming and very attentive staff, our wonderful bedroom (overlooking the countryside) and bathroom with a decent shower, the quality of both dinner and breakfast, good parking and last, but by no means least, the welcome (treats, water bowl and blanket) for our Labrador! We’ll definitely be back.
- Betty (10/5): - This hotel is nestled in a vineyard. It close to Reims and to some small champagne houses in Sacy.
- Soren (10/5): Great Location - Great Location in Champagne
Nice food and a beautiful terrace in the middle of the vineyards.
Comfortable rooms
- Gregory (10/5): Luxury, Service , Beauty - My wife and I spent a night at this lovely property on our way to Paris from Strausbourg. This is a renovated Chateau and they didnt miss a detail during the renovation. The units are nice , the service was friendly and professional , the views outstanding. We will stay here on future visits .
- Alexander (10/5): - Staff was excellent, views great
- Stephen (10/5): Amazing! - Fabulous room, view, food and staff. Great champagne tastings close by
- Roderick (10/5): - Lovely setting among the vineyards of Champagne. Staff were exceptionally helpful, arranging everything from taxis to tastings. The restaurant and terrace bar are wonderful too.
- Katia (10/5): A dream among the vineyards. - We stayed here as part of our honeymoon in France and absolutely loved the experience, the location. It was truly idyllic. The breakfast also served the best croissants and jam. The service was A+. We were also gifted a local champagne bottle at the end of our stay.
Minor comment, mainly for Americans not used to baths: be mindful as (at least our room) only had a bath. It did have a connected shower head but it was difficult to shower standing up inside the bath. Otherwise, the bathroom was huge and beautiful.
- Annick (10/5): - Lovely welcoming staff, pristine rooms and fabulous food... such a wonderful stay, and once again so dog-friendly Thank you!!
- Susanne (10/5): - The chateau is situated in a charming little village that is located in close proximity to Reims and home to a few excellent local champagne houses. Amazing staff and property. Impeccably clean. Michelin quality dining. I cannot overstate the quality of the facility and service received. Definitely worth the money and highly recommend.
- Mr Christopher (10/5): Great chateau stay - This a lovely place to stay, staff very helpful and friendly, will definitely staying again and for longer period
- Fabien (10/5): Perfect stay - Stunning little quaint château in the middle of the Champagne vineyards.
- chris (8/5): - Not as grand as I thought, food ok,champagne everywhere.Friendly staff and nice walking in the neighbourhood. We left just as the vendage was starting so it was shaping up to be a very busy, noisy few days!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Best stay in Champagne - Amazing property with excellent service. The food and drink selection is outstanding. Beautiful terrace with a view of the local vineyards. Dog friendly. Our room was beautiful and had an amazing view. We will be returning as soon as we can.
- Andre (10/5): amazing - Amazing place, amazing food, super nice team but very slow and unorganized service at restaurant and room service.
Overall, we had an amazing time. Can only recommend.
- Stefaan (10/5): Wonderful stay with unique view of vineyards. - We arrived at this hotel after an extremely long journey. Upon arrival check-in staff seemed young, inexperienced and not so accommodating. No, you cant change your room and no the restaurant is fully booked, there is no place for you.
However, the manager was clearly an experienced and customer friendly person. She upgraded us as the other room had no booking plus she told us, of course we can add a table to the restaurant.
The rest of the stay was wonderful and perfect, Staff in restaurant was extremely nice and the sommelier very knowledgeable. For sure, we will return upon our next visit to Champagne!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The hotel is beautiful. The views are beautiful. The service unfortunately very unsatisfactory. I had emailed the hotel with some questions in advance and never received a reply.
Our arrival was good - we were greeted and helped with our bags. They also made space for our car right in front of the hotel. I had made a booking in the restaurant about 1 month prior to our arrival, yet when we went to eat, we were told we could not dine on the terrasse (despite the beautiful weather), and the restaurant was full so they seated us at a window table in the bar (the bar is adjacent to the restaurant). We were 'the forgotten table' with virtually no service all evening. The staff were all very young and seemed untrained.
The most frustrating part was we asked for a table for lunch the next day. The lady told us there is a set menu only. We are vegetarian and they could not accommodate that at all. She said there was an 'on the go' menu which we could have at the bar (it had a vegetarian dish), so we asked her to book the window table at the bar. She said we could not sit there, because that was also reserved for set menu customers. The discussion became increasingly frustrating. When we arrived for lunch the next day, the restaurant and bar were empty! Still, however, we were not allowed to sit in the restaurant or on the terrasse. We were, however, given the window table at the bar. For the prices they charge, the service was shocking. Very unfortunate indeed.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Beautiful hotel but questionable check in process - Beautiful hotel with very pleasant surroundings. The staff is very friendly. The food okay. The room we had was very elegant. The only thing we didn’t like is that they asked us to write down our credit card numbers and expiring dates on a piece of paper, for them to use as a “guarantee”. Usually hotels makes a reservation on the credit card, but they couldn’t do that. We refused to write our numbers down and after a long discussion they did let us pay the city taxes and breakfast upfront. All this hassle for 42 euros. That gave us very strange and unpleasant first impression which unfortunately stuck with us.
- Lori (10/5): My favorite Château - This is the best Château ever! Seriously this place has world class service, amazing restaurant and fabulous view. It is worth every cent. If you’re looking for the ultimate romantic get away this is your answer.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great stay with a the quintessential vineyard getaway!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - e had a very pleasant , comfortable overnight stay. The evening meal at the restaurant was exceptional and the breakfast was excellent in it’s range of products and very good value.
We had an issue with a duvet cover, which housekeeping had obviously missed but this was promptly and efficiently dealt with by the receptionist on duty.
We would be very happy to stay here again .
- Josh (10/5): - This place is amazing. Located in the village Sacy, it’s the best place to stay in the whole area. Don’t do something dumb and go somewhere else!
- Amanda (10/5): Excellent Stay - From the moment we walked through the door the receptionist was above and beyond welcoming till the time we left was a magnificent stay, with exquisite food, staff, service, hotel and rooms made our stay perfect.
Set in picturesque champagne village.
- Betty (10/5): - The service is wonderful. We had to leave early to catch our flight and they set out the breakfast buffet an hour early for us. The location is perfect- right in the midst of the champagne region close to Reims and an easy drive to Charles de Gaulle.
- Thomas (10/5): Excellent stay. - Excellent location about 20 minutes from Reims. Very close to all Champagne houses. Great base to explore the area.
- John Brian (10/5): - Excellent in every way. Charming, clean, comfortable, delicious, beautiful place with friendly and helpful staff. Will definitely visit again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Highly recommended touch of luxury. - Excellent stay. A very peaceful and relaxing experience. Warm and friendly service, wonderful food and beautiful views over the local vineyards.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - An absolutely delightful place to stay !
- MichHaim (10/5): - WOW, is all I have to say! We stayed for one night and wished we could have stayed for more. This hotel is truly magical. We had pre-dinner drinks on the back deck over looking the vineyard at sunset, then an amazing dinner inside at their restaurant. The food and service completely exceeded our expectations! We even had after dinner drinks overlooking the dimly lit vineyard at night. What an experience! Location is just 15-20 minutes from the Reims city center.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful Château in Sacy. The location was close to Reims and other popular towns in Champagne.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful hotel and location. Amazing stay.
- Patrick (10/5): - it was our first trip to Reims and we were delighted that we had booked Château De Sacy,
it is a very elegant refurbished château.
I believe the refurbishment was carried out approximately two years ago.
it is set amongst the grapevines & elevated in the town.
the surrounding vines are associated with the champagnes of sacy and the staff are wonderful! although the food was good it wasn’t great to be honest, but I would certainly go there again.
If you have not been to Reims before I would say this would be a wonderful choice
- HerbTami (10/5): - One of the most beautiful and comfortable places I have ever stayed. Everything and everyone was excellent.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Really nice old castle built in the 1850s fantastic rooms and excellent dinner. Breakfast was ok but not worth €20 each as no cooked option, but overall quite happy with our stay
- Chris (10/5): Brilliance - Perfect place and in immaculate condition. Great food and great people.
- Kathryn (10/5): Wanted to stay longer - Really amazing, beautiful property. Exceeded our expectations. Need to book restaurant well in advance. Lovely breakfast. Wonderful, helpful staff.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - AMAZING all around. Room glorious, views, food, location!
- Lydia (10/5): Perfect stay near Reims - Really amazing, a 4-star hotel and a 2-star restaurant well situated amongst the champaign vineyards.
We can recommend it strongly and intend to go back next year.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Champagne heaven!!! - Wow what a perfect place to stay for champagne lovers!!!
Exceptional service, beautiful elegant rooms and an incredible view of the vineyards!!
We fell in love with this hotel!so quiet and intimate!Perfect for our honeymoon!
The staff went beyond the call of duty to make our stay with them special!
Only downsides were the Nordic baths were not warm enough for us to try and I would have loved a tea or coffee making facility in our room!
None of the above stopped us enjoying this beautiful place and the food and drink were of a very high standard!we would love to stay there again!!!
- Rachelle (10/5): A divine stay at the Chateau - We had an absolutely divine overnight stay at the Chateau de Sacy while visiting the Champagne region of France. The hotel and room were impeccably decorated and the service was top tier. I highly recommend staying at the hotel for dinner as it was one of the best meals during our trip to France. We were only there for one night but wished that we could stay a week. I can honestly say this was one of the best hotel experiences I've ever had. I really hope to be back some day!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Perfect in the summer, I expect - Staying for just a sunday night in January, it is not going to be the most buzzing place to be. Check-in very easy, shown to our (uograded) room. Very comfortable bed with huge wall-in shower (could have fitted another bed in there). Restaurant busy with locals for lunch, unfortunately it was closed on Sunday evening (not uncommon for french restaurants in general), meaning a drive into Reims for dinner. The night porter served us with a night cap on our return, sitting in the lounge overlooking Reims in the distance, just visible through the snow.
Simple breakfast, served impeccablly though not cheap.
The Chateau has outside decking for breakfast or drinks (too cold to enjoy in january) and a small gymn with outside hot tubs (ditto re cold).
Free and dependable wifi.
Located in midst of vineyards, I imagine this would be a fantastic place to be pampered in the right season. But at a cost.
- Rob (10/5): Great hotel - Great hotel, close to many of the good vineyards and located in the heart of Champagne. Close to Riems
- MCS (10/5): - The hotel itself is stunning--impeccably restored and warm and welcoming at every turn. The staff were all courteous and accommodating, setting up a cot for one of our children, providing extra water bottles, and helping arrange for transportation. The cozy bar was the perfect spot to relax after a day of touring champagne houses with, of course, another glass of champagne. Food and service at the restaurant were also superb. We hope to return!
- Mike (10/5): - Fabulous Château that is top quality throughout from the design and detailed finishes to the great food and very attentive staff. It’s trul 5 star
- Michael (10/5): Wonderful getaway - Most wonderful getaway place - exceptional location and surroundings. Really enjoyed our stay here - highly recommended!
- hilary (10/5): Gorgeous hotel - Awesome!
- Audrey (10/5): - Amazing hotel right in the middle of the vineyards ,but close enough to the city of Reims.
- Plb (10/5): - Wonderful hotel, fabulous staff, awesome location. Car is needed unless you plan on just enjoying the wonderful Sacy town experiences.
- Taylor (10/5): A treasure in champagne - An incredibly idyllic location- the vineyard is just steps from the door so the air is scented faintly with champagne. The room was stunning- great amenities, very comfortable, very quiet. The staff was so kind and so helpful and the restaurant was excellent! This place is a treasure!!
- Agnes (10/5): - Wonderful property. Received welcome and parting gifts. Rooms are beautiful with a gorgeous view on the vineyards. Staff very friendly and courteous. Very good breakfast, nice bar and restaurant.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Amazing boutique hotel. Everything about our stay was excellent!
- Michael (6/5): Prospect of a great hotel but not yet - The service leaves a lot to be desired, the staff are inexperienced and unattentive and for a five star hotel and at these prices this is totally unacceptable. The hotel is nice and tranquil and the rooms are comfortable but the lack of basic amenities like a phone and coffee facilities just beckons belief. The restaurant service is slow and the table isn’t cleared for a considerable time after finishing the meal. We were looking forward to some five star dining but was disappointed in the very limited set menu and very average food. This hotel is vastly overpriced and should at LEAST offer a free glass of wine on arrival and a full breakfast. The WiFi code wasn’t offered which meant another trek down to reception.Overall this is the most overrated hotel I have ever stayed in
- Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely overnight stop - It was a lovely overnight stop. The restaurant is very good with imaginative & varied choices.
The hotel has only been open eleven months. It is run by a larger group with I believe around 10 hotels across France. They have invested significantly to renovate the Chateau to a very high standard. With air conditioned rooms it was very comfortable.
We will return.
- Anna (10/5): Romantic stay for two - We had a beautiful view onto the Chateau's vineyard and the room was of a high standard (very stylish and romantic with an amazing bathroom). The staff were lovely and helped to make the trip a success. We will definitely be back.
- Jane (10/5): Beautiful boutique hotel - Very welcoming staff, beautiful setting and unique bedrooms. This hotel is ideal for couples who want to relax with amazing views over the surrounding countryside.
- Roland (10/5): A Hidden Gem! - This is one if the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in - hands down. You are on a vineyard with beautiful views all around. The hotel itself is reminiscent of another age, an old Chateau in Champagne. The rooms are both comfortable and beautiful, done up in a more classic style. There are postcard views out almost every window.
The hotel is small - with only 12 or so rooms, so it has a very intimate feeling. It has a beautiful lounge and restaurant with tables outside during the good weather. The dinner was both good value and good quality, and they have a solid wine list! There are also two hot tubs overlooking the vineyards for those who want a soak.
I found the staff to be friendly and very accommodating. They helped make the experience memorable.
If you want to treat yourself to a rare experience, come to this place. You are about 20 min outside of Reims and will need a car to get here. However, the trip is more than worth it. I had 2 fantastic days here and can't wait to come back!
- carl (10/5): The most beautiful hotel in the champagne region - I kid you not, this hotel was one of the nicest I have stayed at in my entire life. The pictures don’t even do it justice. The decor, the rooms, the landscape were all incredible. When I come back, I will only stay here. It is truly an incredible spot perched up on a beautiful sprawling landscape. This should be a no brainer. You would pay 500+ per night in the states for a room like this.
- Mog7 (10/5): - One of the most beautiful locations I have ever had the pleasure of staying in, The staff were wonderful. The Chateau itself is immaculately restored with a wonderful ambience, Could not recommended highly enough.
- Ksenia (10/5): Hidden gem - Fresh beautiful design in old walls. Charming, just charming. We enjoy every minute of staying here. Definitely come back to spend more time here
It’s the best place to explore beauty of Reims.
Property is 5* deluxe and we feel it in every detail.
In addition there is a delicious restaurant and they serve high end meal almost any time of the day and night
- Russell (10/5): Go ! Because you are worth it ! - Stylish, comfortable, elegant .... this is such a beautiful chateau in which to stay. We liked it so much, in fact, we have booked a further three nights later in the year. It oozes charm, the staff are friendly, helpful and accommodating. Check-in was painless and we were given a guided tour of the facilities - outdoor hot tubs, a small exercise room, both on the ground floor. The restaurant and terraces are on the floor above and offer a wonderful menu at both lunch time and for dinner. We ate both meals there and were not disappointed. A large and very smart marquee was erected during our stay for summertime al fresco eating and socialising - teak tables and comfortable seating. The decor is simply gorgeous .... quite eclectic in the dining area, massive tropical palms dotted here and there, but nothing beats the simplicity and elegance of the Marie Antoinette room, where we stayed. Painted in the most gorgeous bluey green and wallpapered with pretty paper to co-ordinate, acres of white squashy curtains at the large double aspect windows, a chaise longe in front of one of them, the bed is surrounded by grey silk curtains and is very comfortable. Mirrored doors throw around the light and the bathroom is the size of a small bedroom. Again, elegance is key. A large bath and white, thick fluffy towels. One thing missing though was a safety mat in the bath - it was almost impossible to get out without slipping. This really needs to be addressed ! Separate loo. Altogether fab !
- Verified traveler (2/5): FAR below expectations, poor, not 5 star or close - property beautifully restored to high standard. It has so much potential, but currently is very far from five star due entirely to service. It is recommended in Vogue magazine and recently CN Traveler named it on their hotlist of best new hotels in Europe! We honestly do not know how they got either of these recommendations? But they are attracting a certain type of clientele based on them and they are unable to meet the needs of these guests. No help with luggage from car or to room.No welcome at the door on arrival.
No manager in charge?Manager never introduced themselves to us during our 3 night stay. Staff extremely inexperienced. No clue about five star service.
No phone in the room, this was such an inconvenience. requests for drinks, an iron, taxi etc required us to physically go down to reception. This was irritating and especially problematic on an occasion when we returned to our room after being out the entire day and came back to find no toilet roll in our bathroom! No replacement of toiletries (stayed 3nights and used the one small bottle of body lotion on the first day. It was never replaced)No hair conditioner (a min standard for even a 4star) and when I requested it I was simply told they don’t have it. A 5star property should go out of their way to source it. No local shuttle service as advertised, this meant we missed one of our local champagne tastings.staff here have no initiative or training.
Restaurant food/service poor.
- NPMW (10/5): - A great hotel if you want to be near the city of Reims, but not in it. Beautiful views, very nice restaurant, nice rooms and pretty vineyard and village views.
- Samuel (10/5): Great boutique hotel in Champagne - Beautiful small hotel, set in vineyards less than two hour drive from Paris. Great restaurant. Eat inside or on the terrace. Gourmet dinner and wonderful breakfast. Very friendly staff.
- lisa li (10/5): Thank you ! - We stay here on Easter Fri n Sat 2 nights. We are most happy with the service. Room is good size with amazing vineyard views. Good size room n bathroom. We have a 3 course dinner at their beautiful restaurant. €39 per person, Champagne €10 per glass. Good food n good service. This chateau is in a small town Call Sacy, just half hour drive from Moët Chandon and 20mins drive from Reims . We are most happy with our 2 nights stay with them.
- RG (10/5): Exclusive Château - We went in the off-season and we were almost the only guests at the château. The staff was extra hospitable and made us feel very welcome. The restaurant was really good, and we really enjoyed the laid back style. The room was very beautiful and had a beautiful view of the vineyards and cathedral in the small town close by. Location-wise, Sacy is very close to everything, but you will need a car. This is an excellent hotel if you want to go to many champaign tastings.
- Nigel (10/5): An exceptional hotel in the heart of the Champagne - We make the trip from Calais to the Dolomites and back again, for skiing, every year, and until now we have had difficulty finding a suitable hotel in the Champagne region, where we like to stop, so we are absolutely delighted to have come across ‘Chateau de Sacy’. This boutique style hotel is simply outstanding. Firstly, and most importantly, the staff are extremely professional whilst being very warm and friendly. We were made to feel very welcome and relaxed, and the service was perfect.
Secondly, the decor in this hotel is stunning; it is opulent but comfortable, extremely tasteful and very well executed. Our room was very well appointed, with beautiful views of the surrounding vineyards and the woods in the distance. All the furnishings are of the highest quality, and staying here was a delight.
We had a wonderful dinner, and my wife, who is vegetarian, was delighted with courses that were delicious and had been carefully considered, and weren’t just lip service to vegetarian food. We also enjoyed champagne and wine from an extremely well chosen selection. Suffice it to say that we will be back, and next year we plan to stay both on our way out and on our way back, and to extend our stay by another night on our return to give us at least a day to do some walking around Sacy and the surrounding woods. A really fantastic hotel, and my compliments to the owners and the staff. Thank you.
