Guest Reviews
- Rosslyn (10/5): A luxurious friendly retreat with a focus on enjoying nature in style and comfort. - What an amazing place for a special celebration.Snuggled into a beautifully manicured garden adjacent to Copeland State Conservation area, it offers relaxation as well as the invigoration and wonder of the rainforests. Our suite included a spa bath- such luxury, an eastern facing deck for our delicious breakfasts, and a back deck with a fireplace to enjoy an evening drink. The hosts are charming and make the whole experience special. Everything we needed was at hand, comfort with style, great food- what more could we want?
- Colleen (10/5): - Host Mel was very helpful and keen to assist with our needs. Nothing was too much trouble and she makes a mean pancake stack. Having to leave
- Bianca (10/5): -
- Susan-Gai (10/5): Relaxing - Beautiful grounds, generous room size and Mel the hostess was very welcoming and chatty.
- Jacqueline (10/5): Brilliant - 10 stars for breakfast staff excellent Nothing
- Tracey (10/5): Perfect long weekend getaway. - In a lovely serene peaceful location, very comfortable bedding and new bathroom. Great aircon! We so enjoyed relaxing outdoors whilst listening to beautiful sounds of the local birds, such welcoming hosts, and the delicious breakfasts and the dinner we ordered our first night were just fantastic. Couldn’t ask for more :) Nothing. It’s such a beautiful place to stay! Highly recommended.
- Mark (10/5): - Fantastic food , brilliant host .
- Stephen (10/5): Amazing place, Mel's lovely and we can't wait to go back! - Amazing place! Mel (our host) was beyond accommodating, even taking note of the little things about us when we were there. The room, the food and the whole place were incredible. Every detail was taken care of and we sure Mel has put an incredible amount of thought and energy into making her guests' stay a wonderful experience.
We've booked in already for our honeymoon later this year! Cannot fault Copeland House in any way.
- Simone (10/5): This place is truly amazing - My partner and I booked our stay at Copeland house and stayed in the manning suite.
Sceptical at first, but upon arrival. We realised, we were definitely be coming back again.
The scenery, outlook, and location was simply breathtaking.
Greeted by the host , we felt instantly felt at home.
We were led through beautiful foliage, a short distance to our room. ( Only 1 of 3 at the site mind you).
To a perfectly appointed room, that instantly displayed, peace and serenity.
I haven’t even started to explain, how incredible the first morning ( includes breakfast).
Waking up to an amazing breakfast, my partner and I left to discover near attractions. We arrived back at dusk and randomly discovered a horseshoe throwing game. Never had i thought, such a small thing would have made us so happy. This place is absolutely magical. I have so many more good things to say about this place, but I don’t want to spoil it for you, just go. There’s nothing I could say that I didn’t love.
- Brad (10/5): Highly recommend for a peaceful stay in a rainforest- amazing food - amazing stay! Will definitely return 🙌 - The property was located at the end of a valley so it seemed like you were far away from the world. It has beautiful grounds with lots of wildlife roaming/flying around. The host Mel, is amazing- very attentive to guests needs and her attention to detail is phenomenal. The food Mel prepares as a part of your stay is equivalent to a high end restaurant. Highly recommend the Manning Suite as it is more private from the other rooms Not one dislike!
- Di (10/5): Fabulous breakfast and beautiful location…………. - Couldn’t do enough to make our stay perfect. Nothing
- Dan (10/5): - Second time we have stayed here and it does not disapoint. Friendly hosts, beautiful surrounds with lots of native wildlife, yummy food and rooms clean and comfortable. We will be back for round three. Having to leave.
- Pat (10/5): It was a very pleasant weekend. - The breakfast was first class. The surrounding areas on the property were great for a stroll or just sitting or swinging on their many sitting places. Bird life and scenery from our porch was amazing.

- Robins (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing location, Mel was so energetic & accommodating to anything & everything. The food was delicious & good portion sizes and any extras were quite reasonably priced. Only wish we could have had a couple of glasses of wine with Mel! Always great conversations & energy 10/10
- Tracy (10/5): I would like to thank Mel and Justin for being wonderfull hosts and looking after us - The accommodation was very comfortable, breakfast was yummy.Very quiet and peaceful.Great sitting on the veranda looking out at the mountains and bird life and a lovely areas out the back just to chill.Mel and Justin really looked after us
- Rowan (10/5): Prefect, rainforest adventure - Everything, our host Mel was wonderful Nothing
- Mark (10/5): Spoil yourself in a peaceful paradise - Lots of things to love about our stay: 1. exceptional service (without being intrusive), Mel was so friendly, helpful and generous. One example: she ran down to our car with umbrellas when we got back from our afternoon out during the pouring rain. 2. Exceptional accommodation and location. The property and grounds were immaculately kept, such a peaceful location to just sit and relax. So much attention to the little things throughout the grounds and in the room to make it an enjoyable stay. 3. Exceptional food: we haven't had a better breakfast anywhere, and the spicy ribs for dinner: incredible! 4. Peaceful and private. I already mentioned peaceful but I'll say it again because it's important to us. I was a little concerned before we got there that other visitors to the property might cause issues, but the room was positioned in a private position at the back of the house and we felt like we were there on our own. We highly recommend this B&B and will be back for sure! Nothing to dislike.
- Bruna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bas (9/5): Had lovely stay and would strongly recommend. - Mel was very helpful. Lovely location and superb home cooked breakfast. Nice view in the mountains.

It’s made by the beautiful and warm host Melissa herself, which was nothing but a “wow” when we were served each morning. It’s even better than the 5 star hotels we stayed before! Literally nothing :)
- Heidi (10/5): Perfect place to relax in nature - Highly recommend Copeland House. Loved the nature setting and how close it was to rainforest walks. The bed was comfortable and the hosts were welcoming and friendly. The breakfast was delicious! We had the smashed avocado (best I’ve ever had) and the omelette with homemade bread.
- Prasad (10/5): Exceptional -

- Cath (10/5): Memorable stay, exceptional hospitality. - Everything was excellent: the location (cottage with balconies in a wonderful natural environment with abundant wildlife); the beautiful bedroom with comfortable bed; the variety of outdoor facilities (day bed, fire pit, hamac); the delicious breakfasts and dinners prepared by our wonderful host, Mel, who also gave us lots of tips and information about the local area. - Tracie (10/5): Exceptional - It was amazing. Nothing
- Sharon (10/5): Exceptional - We loved the intimate cosy little spots to sit and relax either by the fire or in the super comfy swing chair. The breakfast is 10/10, no expense spared and generous portions. Also you must try Mel's cooking for dinner it is better than most restaurants and again the plates are ample. Mel is an amazing host with outstanding local knowledge. That we had to leave this little piece of heaven.
- Debbie (9/5): Fantastic accommodation surrounded by nature with amazing breakfasts provided. - Location was a perfect base for exploring Copeland Tops and Barrington Tops areas. Owners were very friendly and helpful and eager to please.
The breakfasts we were served were fantastic. The unit was very comfortable and clean. As I had fallen earlier on the top stair getting to the apartment, getting into the spa bath then to use the shower was a bit more effort, but still manageable.
- Burgess (10/5): we had a memorable stay at Copeland House. The room was homely and comfortable; the bed was first class; the breakfast - The location was idyllic and the house was perfect There was nothing to dislike
- Naomi (10/5): Amazing hospitality, loved our whole stay. - Amazing hospitality That I couldn’t stay longer!
- Kym (10/5): Exceptional -
- Simon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dale (10/5): A piece of forest paradise - Our hosts were amazing. The property is so beautiful. The breakfasts are better than any high class restaurant. I can't speak highly enough of Copeland House. I can't think of anything else that would have made our stay better than it was, which was exceptional.
- Brian (9/5): A great place to experience refreshment in a beautiful natural environment. - We drove into a spectacular natural environment and were warmly welcomed by our host Mel at Copeland House. Mel spoilt us with her exceptional customer service and amazing cooking. We enjoyed the best breakfast ever at a bed and breakfast. Her knowledge of the local area led us to an amazing adventure walking in Gloucester Tops. The Copeland house gardens were a delight to walk and relax in.
- Emily (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (10/5): Hosts went beyond and above to welcome us and enjoy our stay. The service provided was exceptional and there was nothing - Quiet, location, wildlife, layout of property There was nothing not to like about the property
- Caroline (10/5): Escape to the country and be spoiled! - So many things to love! The room was thoughtfully appointed and super comfortable. Mel was a fabulous hostess. Breakfast each morning was delicious, and we ate in each evening enjoying scrumptious home cooked meals prepared by Mel and delivered piping hot to our room. We stayed in the Manning room and loved the ambience of the fire each evening! The gardens and grounds of Copeland House are beautiful with an abundance of wildlife and serenity! Lots of adventures are available. We visited both Barrington Tops and Gloucester Tops. Each was a day trip in itself. Water pressure wasn't great, but you're in the country, so it's not unexpected.
- Miller (10/5): Exceptional - The breakfast each day was amazing.
- Graeme (9/5): Friendly rainforest retreat - Extremely friendly and professional proprietor. Meals were substantial and five star. Location was beautiful.. Nothing really. Maybe more clothing storage space.
- Allan (10/5): Wonderful accommodation with beautiful surroundings plus excellent food! - This was a wonderful place to stay. The meals were exceptional and the hosts could not do enough for you. Would highly recommend this accommodation. Could not fault anything.
- Maree (10/5): Exceptional - Perfect place for rest and rejuvenation.Mel and Justin were lovely hosts. It is their home and you are welcomed sincerely on arrival. You want for nothing.Mel is an exceptional cook.A great spot to stay.If you want to explore you are at the base of Barrington Tops,or beautiful country drives. The town of Gloucester isn't far and has lovely cafes. If you choose to go nowhere, the grounds of the property are perfect and Mel is well supplied with rugs, picnic rugs and seating with fire pits available. There is absolutely nothing I could say.A stay at Copelands House will not disappoint.
- Anthony (10/5): Fantastic accommodation. Highly Recommend - Breakfast was fantastic, great options and exceptional quality. The room was fantastic, it had everything we needed and the verandah was a bonus being able to sit out at nights with a glass of wine or having breakfast with the King Parrots in the morning. It was so peaceful and quite at nights it is a place to get away from the stress of the busy city. I wished we stayed longer and will differently be back. The nearby hiking was great and we spent the day at Gloucester Tops which I also highly recommend. Nothing. I wish we stayed longer.
- Dorothea (9/5): Excellent hosts, great location and nice touches to make guests comfortable - Great location Next door guests use of spa at 10pm
- Hui-chi (9/5): Fantastic - Delicious food. Beautiful accommodation and good facilities, friendly host. Near to the tracks. Nothing
- Liz (9/5): On our driving holiday it worked out that we saved the best till last! - Maybe tricky to find but well worth the effort. Mel and Justin welcoming and helpful. We loved the fire in our suite and appreciated the extra wood and guidance! The food was all very good. We ordered in for dinner and were very happy with that decision. Breakfasts too were delicious, not to mention afternoon tea. Wish we could have stayed longer.
- Sharron (10/5): A wonderful getaway. - As soon as we set foot in the place we were welcomed by the very friendly hosts, their dog and an abundant of friendly lorikeets. The breakfasts were 5 star. The bed was so comfortable, and being able to choose your pillow was an added bonus. The multiple areas to have a firepit, relax, cook your own food meant you didn't need to be anywhere else. Copeland house was close enough to explore the Barrington tops areas without having to drive too far away. Can't think of anything!
- Annika (10/5): Rejuvenating, nurturing and restorative - Outstanding accommodation and services. Food was incredibly delicious and lovingly prepared. The hosts are both lovely. We highly recommend a stay at Copeland House. Nothing
- Alice (10/5): Thank you Mel and Justin for the wonderful memory. See you next time. - The place is magical. Somehow we feel energised and relaxed. We spend a lot of the time enjoy the atmosphere.
Mel and Justin are great hosts. We felt like good old friends soon after we arrived.
We can feel the love and joy they enjoy and share with guests.
The food is 10 out of 10. Mel is such a great chef. Nothing.
Even the possum is a wonderful encounter in the morning while we have breakfast. It is so cute seeing it climbing up the tree to find its breakfast.
- Susan (10/5): I loved it there.. - This was exceptionally comfortable. The room and balcony overlooked the gardens It was such a relaxed atmosphere. Mel couldn’t have been more helpful and the food was delicious. There were some extra special touches which make it’s memorable. The fire pits, bbq area, afternoon tea and marshmallows for the fire pit. Also postcards to write already to send. Nothing at all
- Chad (10/5): Far exceeded our expectations!!! - Wow - this place far exceeded our expectations. It was really good value for money. Mel's attention to detail was unbelievable - the pillow menu, the breakfast menu and presentation of the food and the huge kingsize bed. We had the private room to the rear of the property and were able to eat breakfast outside on our porch overlooking the parrots and wildlife. We ordered evening meals from Mel's menu (beef ribs followed by home made apple crumble - amazing!). We will definitely be back with a group of friends.
- David (10/5): Whatever you do, eat in - Melissa should have been a chef. - Breakfast (included) and dinner (extra cost) were standouts, it was like eating in a 5 star restaurant.
The property and the room were immaculate the scenery and surrounds were beautiful.
The room smelled lovely with essential oil fragrances a highlight, the bed and pillow menu were luxurious and made for a great night's sleep.
The hosts, Melissa and Justin, were terrific - always smiling, always helpful and always available. About the only downside is that the location is so far from Sydney.
- Danny (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jason (10/5): Fantastic weekend getaway - Everything was perfect from being greeted when you arrived ,the room ,the location. The food is amazing. The whole weekend was fantastic.
- Sean (10/5): A wonderful, relaxing and pleasurable stay in a beautiful location with amazing hosts. - The entire experience was phenomenal. From arriving at the property, the location, hospitality, food, room… I honestly cannot fault it.
My partner and I truly relaxed from day one, completely. It was one of the most amazing couple of days I have had the pleasure of enjoying in regional Australia. Nothing, I honestly cannot fault it.
- Jayne (10/5): Exceptional -
- James (10/5): Peaceful spot with great hosts. - Friendly hosts, great food, wonderful views and the description and reviews match what you get.
Cannot speak highly enough about the hosts. Happily share local knowledge so you get the most out of the trip. Great for those who like hikes, nature and quiet getaways. Water temperature, just remember to run it a couple of minutes before a shower and you're fine.
- Elisabeth (10/5): An excellence experience! - Everything! There was nothing to fault. Warm, friendly welcome. Excellent accommodation: Bed, bathroom, robes, slippers, linen, towels - all top quality. Banana cake for afternoon tea one day and caramel slice the next - an extra bonus. The dinner was superb, served with a glass of bubbly instead of wine (as Melissa had found out that it was our anniversary).
The breakfasts (on both days) were plentiful and absolutely delicious. So was the dinner on the second night. Did I mention the coffee?
The "company" of the King Parrots and Willy Wagtails, Blue Wrens, Finches, White Headed Pigeons, and more, was a lovely experience, seeing so many different and gorgeous birds happily feeding together.
And the surrounding area, Copeland and Barrington Tops .... well, we knew how beautiful this area is and it was again confirmed.
Thank you, Melissa, for making our stay such an excellent experience, we only wish it could have been longer. But we sure will be back!
- Natasha (10/5): Amazing, weekend escape in nature with all the creature comforts - Exceptional location at the base of Copeland Tops, surrounded by nature and lots of bird life. Peaceful, serene and absolute heaven. Room was clean and spacious, breakfast was delicious and the attention to detail was amazing. Nothing
- Mark (10/5): A special stay!! - A fabulous scenic relaxed setting with Mel being a naturally fabulous and friendly hostess. Breakfast and dinner were generous in their sizing, tasty, and perfectly presented.
My partner and I were struggling a little with cold symptoms, but this short break proved to be the perfect tonic! Loved the magical walks on the doorstep, along with the beautiful birdsong.
A tranquil garden setting with a dramatic backdrop of surrounding mountains, Copeland House is a stay we will look back on with fondness! Thank you Mel!! The fact we didn't book another night or two! Lol

- David (10/5): Mel is a fantastic host: friendly, welcoming, helpful, a fantastic cook and goes the extra mile. - The breakfast was fit for a king and queen There was nothing really we didn't like
- Josh (10/5): A warm, welcoming host and room placed in a tranquil, natural setting. - We loved our stay at Copeland House; the location in the forested hills and the rising Sun facing our balcony. Mel, owner and host, was beautifully attentive to our needs whether privacy, serving us delicious, home-made breakfast on the balcony or bringing a welcome baked supper down to us as we sat basking in the heat of a fire pit on a cold winters night. The room was so comfortably warm and immaculately presented. The towels and bath robes were super soft after emerging from a bubbling, salted spa bath. Only a couple of minor things would have made our experience more than spectacular; Netflix and YouTube on the TV, the breakfast coffee a little hotter and more kindling at the fire pit for us novice fire builders.
- Susan (10/5): Copeland House was a real treat. Loved everything about it. - Scenery was beautiful. The room was spacious and well appointed. King bed was super comfy.
