Guest Reviews
- David (6/5): - The beach area was beautiful and clean. Rooms were a sort of dated but nice and also clean.
Location wasn't ideal and food wasn't very good.
- PASKAHLIA (8/5): - The location is amazing. Unit is very beautiful. Breakfast is excellent. Service is good. Lighting is poor though, very dark and some of the doors isn’t working well. Toilet can be improved. This is very disappointing, there’s trash burning everyday near the unit that smells foul.
- Stacy (8/5): - The hotel is located about 15 minutes from town right on the water. Very nice. The power and internet service did not work the first day, but it was fixed on the second day.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Hope not to return again - Check-in was great. The reception was friendly and helpful with my ordering of grab food and transport the following day to the airport. First I requested to borrow an extension as there was no power outlet at the desk for me to charge my laptop. Thereafter, I was told none was available. I reported one of the ceiling lights is not functioning. Engineering came and checked, smiled, said okay, and left. Never to return. The shower fixture was leaking. Wall with holes were patched up by stuffing tissue in. Toilet roll used. Used items from previous guests left in the room. The safe box is not working. Closet damaged. Be prepared to have a troop of mosquitoes welcoming you when you use the toilet in the morning. Good luck when staying there.
- Alain (8/5): - Les bungalows en bois sont idéalement placés sur la plage mais mérite un rafraîchissement.
Le petit déjeuner est copieux , par contre la restauration est de style snack .
- Miohammad Effendy (8/5): - The bathroom can be improved.
- ANDREA GIUSEPPE (8/5): - amazing beach
snorkeling in the reef in front of the beach is like swimming in a movie
missing a little bit of refurbishment....
- LORI (10/5): Great place to stay! - Great little beach hut. Really nice beach. During low tide it’s gets a little bit dirty, they need to make an effort to clean the beach. But mostly it’s really a nice beach. Good restaurant, goos food, staff could be a little more attentive. The beachfront hut was really nice, basic, clean awesome view. I’d stay there again. The front desk was very helpful, my friend didn’t come because she was sick and they refunded her room. It’s a really nice hotel, good beach, nice rooms!
- Verified traveler (4/5): Could be nice but too many issues - Hotel is in a good location and could be nice but it is old and dated and a bit run down.
We booked a double room with a king bed but they only had twin rooms available, they tried moving us to different rooms but the condotion of them was very poor.
The aircon wasn't working well, the water pressure was non existent and if 1 person used the toilet wr had to wait a long time for there to be enough water to have a shower. It was impossible for 2 people to shower after each other as there wasn't enough water.
When we complained they said they would send an engineer but nobody ever showed up.
Needs a lot of renovation and modernising!
- Lynda (10/5): - We stayed in the area back in March, and we were lucky enough to stay in a cabin on the beach front.
The rooms were clean and had a water cooler which was fabulous. The washroom was in a different building but that was fun.
Food options for breakfast were good and dinner ok. The resort is not close to other eating options so the food was limited after a day or two.
Great to walk up to the peak to view sunset.
Staff were amazing and friendly. We had a boat trip booked around Komodo and the timing changed due to bad weather, the staff were amazing at rebooking us and accommodating our changes despite making a non refundable booking.
Could not recommend more highly
- Monica Maria (2/5): It was hell staying here literally - I had to be moved because my room AC didnt work. I had to have technician open the safety deposit box because it was locked. The fridge was inplugged. The toilet leaked. Gross. Had to get it fixed. Then front door wont ppen sp trchnician had to be break in to ppen the door. Thrn tge doir wont close and men kept walking into my room. Another day they gave a stranger my room number. He knocked on my door at 7:45 pm. I was not expecting anyone so looked through window since no chain or peephole. I called to complain to Reception who admitted they gave him my room number. Then one pretended to be the hotel manager he hung up. After that he kept hanging up on me. I wanted him to call the police but he ignored me. I nearly got infected by thr toilet leak and killed by an unauthorized stranger being given my room number because he told Reception that i had commuted with me through WhatsApp which was a lie. I do not accept friend requests or give out my name or phone number to strangers. I have been to over 50 countries and ive not had a quarter of the stuff happen to me. Youve bern warned. Tried to upload photos but wont let me.
- Connie (10/5): - It’s natures palace but it’s so sad as the coral is dead and the ocean full of plastics from the Philippine government dumping all of Canada’s recycling and likely all countries into ocean. They need to have someone picking up trash from beach all day. The damage has been done. The sea animals dead.
- Tanya (8/5): - The location is wonderful. The staff are wonderful. The food is very good if you want traditional Indonesian cuisine. Limited selection of Western food,
- William Joseph (10/5): - Can have a Cabana on the beach
- Verified traveler (10/5): The best hotel for sunset in August - It was great 4D3N stay at Sylvia hotel Komodo. It was the second time I stayed here, this time I tried the room in resort next to the beach. The resort is much better indeed... especially to enjoy the sunset. Breakfast is great, the staffs are very helpful and tried to accommodate your needs, and shuttles are available to go to center for free or to airport which costs less than 2€. Recommended hotel to stay in Labuan Bajo in August since you will enjoy the sunset directly in front of the beach at hotel!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Fantastic Stay in Sylvia Resort - Fantastic experience from the minute we arrived with a refreshing drink on arrival and very friendly reception staff.
Beach bunglaows are right on the beach with loads of room and all of the amenities including a fantastic outside wet room and shower and free WiFi.
Room was immaculate on our arrival and cleaned very well every day.
Hotel arranged a free shuttle into town each morning so we could go diving.
Labia has a large number of very good and professional dive shops and the diving off Komodo Island was the best dive sites I have ever seen - saw a large number of sharks, turtles and manta rays not to mention the other fish and beautiful coral formations.
Hotel restaurant was fantastic and very reasonable - would recommend Slyvia Resort to anyone.
