The office closes for the evening at 10pm with no one available so we couldn’t even request a rollaway bed. Not sure if that would have been available but feel like they should have let us know at check in

• Wayne (10/5): Absolutely Delightful in Every Way! - We found this hotel to be delightful! It was in the process of being renovated but the main areas and our room were very nice! It was large, clean, and comfortable. It had a kitchenette and a lot of electrical outlets so that we could charge all our devices. Another thing we noticed was that there was a lot of bright lighting, which seems to be a rarity these days. The queen bed we had a queen bed that was very comfortable. The breakfast that was offered was very nice! It was sausages and scrambled eggs with toast or bagels and yogurt, muffins, coffee, and various juices. It was perfect and we sat at comfy tables in the breakfast room to eat it. The staff we encountered was very nice and helpful. We asked about a place to eat dinner within walking distance and were advised about a wonderful Mexican food restaurant, just down the street that was very good! All in all, it was a delightful experience and we would definitely stay there again!

• Bobby (8/5): - The hotel is definitely a bit dated, with older carpet and furnishings, and the air conditioner was loud and didn’t work particularly well — especially noticeable during a warm July stay on the third floor. That said, I was extremely impressed with how clean the room was. It was spotless, and that made a big difference. The true highlight of my stay was the housekeeper — incredibly friendly and genuinely a wonderful person. Her attention to detail really stood out. While the hotel could use some updates, for the price, it’s a great choice if cleanliness and friendly service matter to you. Would stay again.

• George (8/5): - This hotel is older but very clean and spacious. We only spent one night in transit but the bed was very comfy. The kitchen is limited in that it has only a few dish, skillet and utensils. It was nice to have a large refrigerator and a small stove to warm up food. I wouldn't recommend it for a long stay but it was great for one night. It is probably usually really quiet but we happened to be there on the 4th of July so the fireworks were close by and quite loud. Not faulting the hotel in any way for this, just stating why I can't say it ws quiet.

• Janine (8/5): Trip to visit family. - The Helgeson is a great little hotel in Orofino. We had a 1 bedroom suite. It was very roomy. The staff is excellent. The elevator is quirky. We enjoyed the back patio. The hotel is very convenient to restaurants, bars, stores, and such. Go to House of Juju. It's fantastic.

• Timothy (10/5): I'd stay here again for sure. - Great staff. The breakfast was fresh, hot, and hit the spot. The courtyard in back has a great feel with big trees and nice furniture. Location on the main drag could bother some people. Logging is the industry in town and the trucks never stop.

• Anna (6/5): - My room was clean, had a modern bathroom and fully equipped kitchen. My only problem with my stay was that the baseboard heating creaked and popped very loudly my whole stay and kept me awake that night.
• Cory (6/5): - Not sure how people give this place 5 stars. The room is large but dated. The windows are like single pane and you can hear all the street noise. Logging trucks at 4am followed by everyone going to work in their loud cars and trucks spring 5am. The hotel didn’t provide breakfast until 7:30am so we never had a chance to try it since we were heading out fishing early. We did walk across the street to the cafe which had a great breakfast, reminded me when I was a kid going to the local old timer restaurant in our home town. I wish we could have liked it better but the noise was ridiculous. Do not stay in rooms 201-205. They call face the main road so the noise will be the worst.

• jeff (10/5): - We loved our stay with you. The only compliant I would have is with your guests. The room beside us had noisy people, with lots of coming and going, especially late at night. The rooms above us was the same, I could hear walking about and some loud talking, late at night. All of this was not your fault, for sure. Maybe it was just because we stayed on a Friday and Saturday night. I am a light sleeper, so that is my fault. Maybe a white noise machine for the rooms would be helpful.

• Jeff (10/5): - Our single queen room was huge! The kitchen was awesome, although our stay was so short that we did not use it. Our corner room had lots of windows compared to the typical McHotel. Small, but very tasty breakfast. Extremely helpful desk agent pointed us to a very good restaurant for dinner.
• Julie (6/5): No hot bath to soak my pain away - When checking in, I asked to make sure there was a bath so that I could soak from a car accident that I had been in. I needed to soak my injury and she confirmed that there was. However, both my husband and I could not get the plug to hold any water whatsoever and when called down, she said that she would have maintenance look into it tomorrow, and that was it. For almost a $200 night I would’ve thought they would’ve been a little more kept up on the room. Also, while sitting in the tub, I looked over into the toilet and the rim inside the toilet had mold or something very black under inside. I’m sorry but little things like this kind of turned me off, especially when you pay that much. And I got no apology whatsoever.
• Georgia (10/5): - We had the two queen beds suite, which was spacious. It had a separate bedroom and bath, and a full kitchen, comfy living room with another queen bed. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast was good. It includes scrambled eggs, toast, bacon and yogurt. There is parking in the front and in the back.
• Doris (10/5): Hegleson Stay - The hotel room was very clean. The service was excellent. They also provided breakfast every morning. Only thing that was negative was that it was noisy outside.
• Jesus (6/5): - Room was not as pictured on their website. Room received was average at best. This is an old building which was refurbished into a hotel. My recommendation would be to stay at the Best Western when in Orofino ID.
• Brook (8/5): - Overall good experience. The staff was helpful and kind. It is walkable to the park and food. It is a little older of a building but we didn't mind that. It was a spacious room and it was nice to have a bed in a separate room for our kids.

The staff were friendly and helpful. It comes with a full, hot breakfast, but not until 7:30 am. My room was clean, quiet, and I felt safe. Yes, I would stay here again.

The rooms are very clean. The breakfast is not bad. The staff was very helpful. We stay there every year.

• John (10/5): - This is an older hotel in downtown Orofino. The rooms are adequate. The beds are comfortable and the sheets are nice. It is clean, but the most outstanding part is the attitude and the tentativeness of all the staff that I interacted with while staying there. They are kind polite, and happy to be there which is an unusual trait to find in today’s service industry. Whoever setting the tone at the Hegelson Place hotel is doing it right congratulations.

The only complaint is that the radiators click constantly but I was able to mostly drown the noise out with a sound machine (as well as most of the traffic from the busy road). I enjoyed my stay overall.
