- Clarissa (10/5): Overall stay was great! Worth staying here. - I like more the location, very close to the beach and restaurants are closeby. Complimentary sunset watching with the local boat was fantastic and the complimentary snorkeling, had so much fun. There are still plenty of activities the hotel offer but we have not tried the others. Staff were very friendly and accomodating. Maybe the lighting in the bathroom is not very bright. It would need a little brighter light to see clearly while doing my make up especially for women. But it is not so big deal at all.

- christie (9/5): Perfectly located on Lio Beach with easy access to restaurants, the airport, and nearby beaches - Balai Adlao Hotel is a fantastic base for exploring El Nido. The location is excellent on Lio Beach, just steps from restaurants and within walking distance of the airport. There’s a convenient motorcycle rental right outside the hotel, which allowed us to easily visit nearby spots like Corong Corong Beach, Nacpan Beach, and Duli Beach. Comfortable, central, and super convenient for getting around—highly recommend for anyone visiting El Nido!
- Naoki (8/5): Satisfied - Excellent location (to beach & airport)
Drop off service
Hospitality Poor room amenities (dryer, comb, no door in shower space)
Under renovation (no gym & pool)
- Eddie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Petra-rebeka (10/5): 10/10, really recommend! - This was the best hotel we stayed at in the Philippines. From the super friendly and helpful staff, to the location, amenities, cleanliness.
From the moment you go there the staff will welcome you in a very heartwarming way. The beach which is 1min walk from the hotel is one of the most beautiful and peaceful ones. Nothing, it was impeccable.
- Angela (8/5): Very good -
- Jeff (9/5): Superb - Clean room
Hotel is located right on the beach
Nearby restaurants
Very easy access to the airport Very hard mattress
Little natural light in the room
No light in or near the closet
Drinking water had to be ordered from housekeeping
- John (10/5): Exceptional - Close to beach and restaurants. Room was good, staff extremely courteous and helpful to our needs.
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional -
- Maria (10/5): Perfect - The stuff and the free activities That there is no pool
- Rikka (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paul (7/5): Great location but relatively expensive - Breakfast nice
Great Location
Staff very friendly Relatively Expensive for what you get
Very Small rooms with basic amenities
Bathrooms uninspiring
Need fans at reception and in room
- Ahmed (10/5): Exceptional -
- Guia (10/5): Awesome stay. Excellent service. - The tropical architecture, cleanliness, the staff were excellent. The complimentary activities were awesome! We had a great time and will make sure to visit again. Breakfast was limited and pricey
- Ryan (8/5): Nice hotel and good location near airport - Perfectly located next to the hotel and on the beach!
- Rhoentgen (10/5): just want to thank the front desk staff Rubik and Chelle for helping us with the reservation issue and the reservation d - Courteous staff friendly atmosphere and warm greeting by every staff none
- Glydel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anna Genia (10/5): - We enjoyee the welcome drink lemongrass!! The staff was
So helpful!
We had a nice stay!!
Excellent!!
- Ma (9/5): Superb - The staff were very accommodating when I wasn't well from something we eat or drink. They send a doctor to our room to attend to me. I think it would be better if the restaurant downstairs is open so that we don't have to go to the other hotel for breakfast
- Arleen (4/5): lio is not like before. its too lonely and pricey - it is located in lio which has a good beach view the floor is so sticky and there is no free bedroom slipper.
- Jose (8/5): Very good -
- john (10/5): - The property is quite a distance from the city however, it is manageable since there was an available trike to the city, there was a restaurant around the property for your cravings. The staff are kind and accommodating. special mention to Ms. Rose and Ms. Kim.
- Junheon (4/5): - no cold water > fixed next day
no phone > fixed next day
no refrigerator, instead they provide ice but kitchen closed 10pm.
no any place to buy cold water.
I don't know why my friend decided to stay here.
anyway, it is clean, staff helped us kindly, just 3mins from airport. 2mins from beach and restaurants.
- Ryan (6/5): An OK hotel relying on location. - This is a hotel on Lio Beach (100m away) in El Nido. I got the impression that because it there it is assumed that this is enough and attention to details are not necessary.
First off, 40 minutes late getting picked up at the airport (having used their 'private' airline Air-Swift). Secondly, shower overflowed into the bathroom due to a blocked drain which was easily fixed by removing the accumulated hair, not a pleasant thing to have to do.
The staff, as always, were eager to help and we were offered a late check out due to our 17:20 flight which was appreciated (although the receptionist at checkout had not been informed and we were temporarily locked out of the room that had all of our possessions inside).
I have travelled extensively in the Philippines and stayed at some much nicer places for the same price or less. If this hotel wants to continue to attract future clients then it needs to up the game a bit and not rely on its location.
The room was comfortable enough and nearby facilities offer some good food and drink options.
- Aris (8/5): - The hotel has access on the beach and restaurants. Room is fine, I hope they put small desk with paper and pen. No hand soap and bath soap in the room, the staff did not refill the bottle, good thing we brought our own. Breakfast is excellent for Filipino guests because there’s variety but if your a foreigner they should add other choices like pastries, yogurt, ham. But overall I like the place and hotel
- Verified traveler (10/5): - All of the staff were very friendly and professional.
The only problem I encountered was that several of the local restaurants did not have a number of items available that were listed on the menu.
- Alan (6/5): - This hotel is part of a group of hotels in an area called Lio beach and this particular hotel is literally a 2 minute walk to the beach. This property is 5 minutes from the airport and 20 minutes away from El Nido town proper.
There are multiple dining and shopping options here but I have to agree on some of the reviews here that it typically cost 50% more than in town. There’s an ATM and a drugstore in the vicinity as well.
The hotel offers shuttle service to town every hour starting at 8:30 AM till midnight. Or if you can’t wait, you can take the tricycle for 150 pesos or about $3.00/person.
This property does not have a pool or a gym. There’s a gym next door that charges 250 pesos or about $5.00/day to use it - which one reviewer here said was a shame and I agree with him because hardly anyone uses it and why do you need to charge to use it?
Offers breakfast in the morning which was simple and good. The room itself was small and basic. It has a safe and a balcony where you can hang your wet clothes. The property is showing it’s age - our room has several cracks on the wall. Some of the lights in the bathroom are not working and this is even after we called at the front desk to get it fix and it was never done.
Overall, it’s a decent property. You don’t really stay in your room when you’re in El Nido. If you want to go a little higher end, try Seda Lio next door. It’s about a 10-minute walk on the beach from this hotel and connected by lighted pathway at night.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Room had a modern yet traditional look and feel to it. Breakfast was amazing, served both western and traditional Filipino cuisine. Check-in was great, they pick you up straight from the airport as well as drop you off for your departures. Beach is just a 2 min walk away. A lot of restaurants nearby. Room was very clean. I would recommend it to family and friends. Probably one of the most upscale hotels around Lio. Hotel staff were nice and courteous. Lio itself was nice and peaceful. Make sure you check it out before they fully develop Lio to become the El Nido central.
- Verified traveler (6/5): -
- Verified traveler (4/5): -
- Maxim (4/5): Nice hotel, nice beach - Nice hotel, nice beach, somewhat secluded; however the free shuttle in to town was quite useful. Be certain that your in-room safe is functioning properly, and USE it: sticky fingers.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good area, Good breakfest, very noisy every morning and the isolation between the rooms isn't Good enough.
- Finina (10/5): - It was awesome and remarkable
- Mason (10/5): Great depending on what type of traveller you are - This was not my favorite hotel, but I'm not going to deduct from the score as it will be 5 stars to other guests. The staff were friendly and mostly helpful. The rooms are clean and the breakfast is delicious. I went here with my wife. We like exploring, so something near El Nido proper will be better for those type of guests. We would definitely recommend this hotel who wants a relaxing quiet time. The beach is very nice and sandy. Most other beaches in El Nido are shelly/rocky. There are other amenities to rent out such as surfboards. However I would not recommend renting a surfboard as the water was low and one of the fins broke on the sand bar and it is expensive to replace. There are numerous restaurants to choose from. We ate at one and it was delicious. The other restaurants in the area looked great too. The room was a little small but cozy. Also the resort is only a 5 minute drive from El Nido airport.
- WAN CHING (8/5): Good - Good, people are kind, breakfasts are good
- Pao (6/5): - much can be improved on hotel staff. though they are accommodating, they need professional training.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Bien basico - Hotel bien .
- Verified traveler (8/5): Highly reccomend. - Great resort, wonderful location, lots to do on site.
- Francisco (8/5): - The first room assigned to smells of insecticide. The next one have this awfull sewage smell in the bathroom.
- Pavol (10/5): - Given the price they charge the hotel is quite spartan with basic rooms and bathrooms and minimal amenities. Shame about the gym not being included in the room rate. It was empty for most of the time. The breakfast was nice with plenty of choice. I appreciated the free shuttle to el nido town. The hotel nicely blends in with the surrounding countryside with tall coconut trees preserved during the development. Plenty of bars and restaurants on the beach front and the beach is kept clean and tidy.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Simple but good enough - One of the few hotels situated on Lio Beach, the ambience is nice, beach is nice, and there are enough restaurants on the beach, but price would be higher than town. The hotel is relatively basic given that it’s quite pricey compared to other hotels in town, it contains only a dinning area and rooms, no swimming pool, no gym whatsoever. Room is big with a balcony which is good. There are shuttle bus services to town everyhour, in a first come first served basis, shared by all hotels guests in Lio Beach. Staff are helpful and friendly. To conclude, if you want some quiet time at Lio Beach, this could be a good option, but if you want more facilities, there are other, and of course more expensive hotels right next door.
- Verified traveler (10/5): -
- Manuel (10/5): - Transfer gratis a el nido
- maria (10/5): Excelente opcion - Perfecto, buen desayuno, lindas habitaciones.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Home away from home - Great location, plenty of restaurants nearby, 1 to 2 minute walk to the beach, comfortable bed
- Lukasz (10/5): Perfect hotel in a remote location - The place is new and therefore really clean! The bathroom and bed are both very nice as. However, it is quite far from El Nido town; you need to take a shuttle bus, which only goes once an hour and stops at 8. So if you want to go out for dinner in El Nido town you need to take a trycicle back to the hotel, which is quite expensive (300 pesos) if you are planning to stay on Lio beach and only want to eat at the restaurants there (plenty of choice!) you will like it. The restaurants at Lio Beach are slightly overpriced compared to the restaurants in El Nido town.
The hotel is perfect, only downside is the location. If you’re looking for more luxury you should also consider Corong Corong beach which is closer to El Nido town.
- Verified traveler (4/5): -
- Ramona (10/5): - We had a wonderful and comfortable stay at Balai Adlao.. Staff are very helpful. They are so attentive to our needs..
- Marek (8/5): - Seaside resort with nice beach, far from town.
Few restaurants on side, with reasonable prices (+50% comparing to town).
Good shuttle service to El Nido town, however could be more frequent.
ATM on side.
Breakfast was typical asian style, with pancakes and some fruit.
Resort paths are covered with sand, with no car access. But the same sand covers also floor on corridors and in the rooms. Houskeeping staff does not make wet cleaning.
- Lynne (10/5): Great hotel, close to beach - We really enjoyed our stay. Staff very friendly and helpful. Love the environmentally friendly approach to everything!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Stay for peace and tranquility close to the beach - Staff at the Balai Adlao were incredibly friendly. The room was clean, comfortable and of a generous size. However a few elements could use some repair - the taps were all loose, the lights short circuited once, and the temperature of the shower was inconsistent - however these issues didn't bother us too much. A small but sufficient selection for breakfast taken in a lovely dining room.
The hotel is part of the Lio Tourism Estate with plenty of options for food and drink nearby as well as access to a beautiful beach. Whilst it is some distance from the main town there is a frequent shuttle service that will take you into the centre and back.
- Steven (8/5): Nice hotel within an awesome beachfront estate! - We transferred here from the adjacent Hotel Covo on our last day at Lio Estate. The design of the hotel is nice, specially its dining area and the overall feel of the property is bit more upscale than Hotel Covo. However, if you're with a bigger group or prefer a more trendy vibe, then Hotel Covo might be a better choice.
The entire Lio Estate, while still under construction on some parts is probably one of the best property to stay at in El Nido. It's convenient, safe and nicely laid out including having its own airport, free hourly shuttle to El Nido town proper, an ATM, a couple of bars and restos on site and a very long beachfront... we definitely had a great time there and we will be back! Highly Recommended!
- Paolo C (10/5): Stay Here - Great hotel smack in the middle of Lio Tourism Estate. 5 minutes away to and from the airport. Very comfortable, good security, right beside several restaurants and tour operators. If you want to have a relaxing vacation, stay here in Lio and NOT in the town of El Nido where it's so rowdy. Hotel is relatively new and although there is no pool in the hotel, the estate has a private beach where you can swim in. Good Wifi too, I must add. Also better to see the islands via El Nido Yachting Club's speedboat tours which are waay more comfortable than the banca. Value for money, definitely.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Loved the location. Although away from town, the beach attached to the property made up for it. Friendly staff, nice clean rooms. Staff was very helpful with arranging transportation.
- Verified traveler (6/5): very tiny room with no view - As usual the front desk personnel in the Philippines are always nice and polite and try to help with our stay The room has been updated and was clean. The room itself was fairly small and because we were there for one night it was not such a big deal. However if we were staying multiple nights it would have been a problem for us.
We had a scheduled 6AM underground river adventure planned and the staff said we will prepare something for you because the breakfast buffet opened at 6AM the same time as our departure. Unfortunately this detail was forgotten by the staff. They did try and did muster up a vegetable sandwich which my partner couldn't eat. The breakfast area appeared updated and was separate from the hotel. It looked clean and a nice place to eat.
- Dan (2/5): Okay for a stay over - Was just a stayover hotel, and were not expecting much due to that. Everything would have been fine except the shower wasn't grounded right and shocked us! Yes, that's right it was electrically charged. We urgent management to check and checkout for the remaining night.
- Crystal (10/5): Loved! - Beautiful hotel with very friendly staff. Would stay again!
- Angela (8/5): Wonderful staff, clean rooms. - Staff was very hospitable, nothing more you can ask for.
- Verified traveler (6/5): potential - Potential to be good. Area looks as though still being developed
- Verified traveler (8/5): Top-notch hotel near a quiet beach - For a 3 star hotel this place is fantastic - clean, modern, well maintained with friendly, helpful staff. If you want somewhere quieter and away from the main town it’s in a great setting right next to Lio beach with some decent bars and restaurants on the beach front.
On arrival I was able to check in early (no charge). There were some minor issues to start: no towels and the safe wouldn't open and staff didn't have the key. There were no instructions on how to use the safe.
The room has a balcony and drying rack where you can hang out clothes and towels after the day's tours and activities - you're bound to get wet!
Bathroom is slick and clean but there is only a half-length glass partition for the shower area so the water splashes out into the bathroom - an annoying design flaw I've noticed a lot in the Philippines.
The cafe was only open for breakfast as the hotel is in its soft launch phase. It had a selection of food and drinks such as bread, cereals, salad, fruit, and rice of course. Eggs made to order.
Staff at the front desk were efficient at booking tours and transportation and were always there to help with any housekeeping.
If you're looking for a party vibe, or you're a solo traveller looking to mingle, it's probably not for you as Lio tourism estate is fairly quiet with mostly couples about in the evening. However if you want somewhere chilled and away from the hustle and bustle of El Nido town, this is the place to be.
- jeff (8/5): Nice, new hotel in a good location by the beach - The rooms are new and stylish with very comfortable rooms.
