The staff were outstanding and nothing was too much trouble - always happy to assist. The interior of the main section of the residence oozed ambience and we looked forward to having a quiet drink at the bar after a busy day. Highly recommend! Everything was great … my only suggestion would be that the bathroom is in need of some ‘pampering’.

• Susanne (10/5): A truly magic place - Wonderful hotel, calm and relaxing athmosphere. Historic building, every detail fits and the staff is very attentive and very friendly. Hotel offers a pick up service from the railway station, which I recommend - no cars allowed in the city. Hotel staff will then arrive and transport your bags to the hotel.

The bed provided the best night sleep I have had in the past 10 nights in China. Crystal spoke wonderful English & gave us some great recommendations for lunch. You can not travel to Pingyao as a U.S. citizen without a visa. My one son was using Transit Without Visa and was unable to join us. He stayed in Shanghai & met us in Beijing. Crystal refunded us for his room.

• Ashley (9/5): Stay here in Pingyao - We like the space from the moment we enter the door. Understated design that combined both eastern and western influences. It was designed with the guest in mind. Most of the staff speaks some English and we would like to specially commend Crystal. Her attentiveness to details, ability to pre-empt the guest needs, prompt response to our queries (even after her work hours - which we felt bad about disturbing her) made us felt really at home. The other small details, like snacks, drinks, hand-written notes and small gifts, added on to make the trip memorable. Nothing!

Stor anbefaling…håber at få mulighed for - Indretning på hotellet er smuk og autentisk med en blanding af kinesisk minimalisme og nordisk stil. Dejligt rent værelse med god komfort og små personlige overraskelser. Så snart man kommer indenfor døren på hotellet opleves en atmosfære med ro og mindfulness. Personalet er meget behjælpelige og opmærksomme. Der serveres te og lidt forskelligt snaks hver eftermiddag. Morgenmad er med i prisen og virkelig lækkert serveret. Aftensmad var også rigtig fin og indtages i de smukke og rolige omgivelser. Ingenting…..alt var perfekt

From the high-quality bedding to the elegant decor, everything was meticulously cared for, ensuring a relaxing and pleasant experience. The location is unbeatable—right in the heart of Pingyao’s Ancient Walled City, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It’s just a 10-minute walk from the Ancient City Wall. Despite being close to bustling streets, the hotel itself remains a tranquil escape, making it an ideal place to unwind after exploring. Overall, Jing’s Residence Pingyao delivers a flawless combination of tradition, comfort, and convenience. I highly recommend it for anyone visiting Pingyao! One thing to keep in mind when staying at Jing’s Residence Pingyao—like many hotels in China during spring—is that the air conditioning is typically not turned on. While temperatures might generally be mild, I found myself feeling warm at night. Since there was no cooling system available, I had to wake up and open the door to let fresh air in, which wasn’t the most convenient solution. It would be great if the hotel offered adjustable temperature settings or provided a fan, especially for guests who prefer a cooler room for sleeping.
• Ai (9/5): Staying in Jing’s residence is an unique experience and made our visit to Pingyao memorable. - It was wonderful to stay in a historic building in a historic town. The property is well designed, and it’s a peaceful haven away from bustling streets of Pingyao. The staff went out of their way to assist us whether it was to help us with luggage or to help us book train tickets. We will like to commend Crystal and Leo for making our visit very comfortable. The platform bed was not ideal as it is not easy to get on and off the bed.

The staff treated us like family with Four Seasons type of service. They couldn’t do enough for you. The food was outstanding here for every meal and we looked forward to relaxing during tea time if we could get back for it and on occasion if we got back late they still would setup tea for us. There were so many little gems about this property and staff, but at turn down every night there would be fresh fruit and a snack as well as a special Chinese gift placed on your bed with a special note. Refrigerators in your room were always stocked with drinks and replenished for FREE. Drivers were also arranged for us to for pickup to and from the train station. We didn’t have to think about anything. Crystal and Nancy were like our family by the end of the trip and we wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Pingyao, but Jing’s! Everything was perfect

She assisted us in arranging transportation, booking massages, securing tickets for attractions, and even organizing a special birthday surprise for our family. • Shihui (10/5): A memorable stay in ancient residence - An amazing stay in central Pingyao Old Town. The hotel is very stylishly decorated (in contrast to many other cheesy ones in Pingyao. The room is spacious and the courtyard is nice and quiet. The breakfast is mostly homemade and delicious. The staff is super friendly and attentive. They treated us with tea upon arrival, then afternoon tea. They even remember we preferred whole meal bread from the previous day’s breakfast. It’s not a cheap place (given the general price level in China) but it’s a very memorable experience. Nothing

The hotel offers free minibar for guests and breakfast is on ala carte basis and food quality is top notch. The hotel is located in ancient Pingyao city (no car zone). Taxi would have to drop guests off at main road which is few minutes walk to the hotel. I would recommend guests to take up pick up and drop off services offered by the hotel as all streets in Pingyao looks the same (like maze) and it's relatively easy to get lost while trying to find the hotel on your own. Shower pressure is too low. This needs improvement. Apart from that, no complain.

Wonderful breakfast whether you ordered Western or Chinese. We ate the special set menu dinner. Definitely the best restaurant in Pingyao. Staff had a proficient level of English which enabled us to have a better experience visiting the historical sights in the walled city. Our two night stay was a five star experience.
