Guest Reviews
- JULIO ALEJANDRO (9/5): AGRADABLE ALOJAMIENTO EXCLUSIVO - TODO MUY BIEN .. EXCELENTE ATNECION COMIDA MUY BUENA CAMA CONFORT PUEDE MEJORAR
- Sebastien (9/5): -
- Garrett (10/5): Best hotel ever! - This hotel is Fantastic! I wish they would be everywhere we go on trips. The people and the owner have become my wife and I our friends. The room comes with breakfast every morning and you get choice of 6-7 different breakfasts that they cook for you from scratch. The views and seating area on the upper deck are Fantastic especially in the evening. You see the big cathedral all lite up.
Just a Fastastic place to stay! Nothing

- Knitter (10/5): - Beautiful building in a good location that is convenient to several parts of SMA.
- Michael (8/5): Terrific small hotel. Breakfast could use some help. - The place is charming - rustic, quaint, and on a very quiet pedestrian street only a 12 min walk to the central plaza. Quite delightful. They were very accommodating about us arriving (very) late when a flight got canceled (Jorge is a gem!). I'm taking points off due to the breakfast, though. The menu is limited (basically eggs, stale rolls, some fresh fruit and yogurt) and the kitchen, while friendly, is very slow. And they're not accommodating about you coming before 8:30, even if you just want some rolls and yogurt like we did on our last day because we had an airport pickup coming at 8:30. Though assured by the manager and the owner that arriving early would be OK, when we did we were told "Sorry, we open at 8:30" (though they did make us some coffee).
- Zareen (9/5): - The staff was very helpful and kind. Great breakfast and a very peaceful place
- Laurens (8/5): Highly recommended! - Beautiful spot, very quiet and private. Excellent location. Jorge is an angel. Internet is not that great if you need to work a lot.
- Jacqueline (10/5): perfect vibe and location in San Miguel! - Such a beaut property! Authentic Spanish luxury! Rooms were beautifully appointed and spacious. We really enjoyed our homemade breakfast every morning! It as also a bonus to have a little gym to work off a few of the tortillas we were eating all day long! The location was very good to everything and it was very quiet. There was nothing we did not like…the only thing missing for us was not having a little coffee maker in the room but it was not a problem.
- Joan (9/5): - The staff, especially Linda and Jorge, was welcoming and helpful. The courtyards and terraces were beautiful. Breakfast, which included selections from a sideboard as well as freshly cooked selections from a menu, was excellent. The location, only a 10-15 minute walk from the center of the historic district, was superb. The bed was exceptionally hard. Four small bottles of water ( only 48 ounces total) was all the water provided for our three night stay. This is not adequate. After this, one has to request and pay for water. In such a lovely, and not inexpensive place, this seemed silly and nit-picky. In two other places we stayed in Mexico, both less expensive than Casa Mision de Dan Miguel, we could obtain additional water at no charge.
- LuluW (10/5): Beautiful and quaint hotel with architecture and furnishing to make you feel like you are in Mexico. - The location was excellent. The architecture of the house and decoration was beautiful and made you feel like in Mexico. They have a large parking lot in front of house. The weather at night was cold so the room cooled up. There is a portable gas heater in the room which we did not use it at night. I felt leaving it on would cause a risk of carbon monoxide build up.
- Pedro Pozo (8/5): - bien
- Andres (8/5): -
- Mary (10/5): - I came looking for a quiet, clean, cozy place to pass a few days outside of CDMX. That's exactly what I got. The hotel is gorgeous, the area is extremely peaceful, and the staff were all very kind and professional. I would absolutely go again.
- kati (10/5): - Beautifully decorated
- Sofia (10/5): Everything about our stay was wonderful. The rooms were comfortable and spacious, the courtyard is wonderful, and the br - The property is close to everything but nestled in a quiet street. Everything in the hotel is beautiful
- Lms703305 (10/5): Gorgeous & Relaxing - Lovely hotel that is short walk to town center but offers wonderful quiet, peaceful escape with sound of fountains and fragrant vines. Gorgeous landscaping and upstairs terrace for lounging or cocktails. Rooms were immaculate. Wonderful, helpful staff who also booked our airport transfers.
- Harry (10/5): Absolutely loved Casa de San Miguel. Location is perfect to quickly access center area but off the beaten path for peace - The grounds were beautiful, well maintained. Lots of cool architectural details. Plenty of space. The rooftop lounge area and views were amazing. The staff was incredibly warm and attentive. The breakfast menu options were excellent. Rooms were well appointed and comfortable.
- Gary (10/5): Excellent - Setting Nothing
- Randal (10/5): Exceptional -
- Otis (9/5): Very good -
- Wendy (9/5): A fantastic large room in an amazing location - A beautiful place to stay with everything you could want. Only a small thing but more bottles of water.
- Roberta (10/5): Exceptional - The Inn was quiet ,clean and a beautifully decorated. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. The upstairs terrace was a bonus for a late afternoon nap.
- john (10/5): - You must try it. It great location also very quite.
- Sheila (10/5): - Casa Mision is minutes to Centro on foot, yet feels like a private get away. After you enter the gate, you find yourself in a secret garden. The rooms are well furnished and comfortable, and the staff could not be nicer. Delicious breakfasts too! Cannot say enough!
- Jacqueline (9/5): Superb - So peaceful with a lovely
Rooftop garden!
- Laura Gabriela (10/5): Can’t wait to come back - This is a gem in San Miguel de Allende. The hotel is only 5 minutes walk from the center, making it very cozy and calm to be there, away from the buzz of the nightlife. The hotel seems simple but it has everything you need, very neat, comfortable and complemented with 5 starts service. Jorge and Linda made the stay memorable!
- Miranda (10/5): Best hidden gem of a hotel - This adorable boutique hotel was off the beaten path, but very close to Centro, the Jardine area and all the restaurants. So the location was perfect, but a very quite area, not near any traffic but so close to all the main attractions. Plus it was a lovely hotel, beautifully furnished rooms and delicious breakfast.
- Leslie (9/5): Lovely architecture and finishes in traditional style; small staff is very friendly; breakfast was good. I’ll be retur - Beautiful traditional style villa with only 6 rooms No pool, no extra services, but that’s not what I need.
- K.c. (9/5): Lovely small hotel. Feels like a home. - Well located, beautiful setting, good breakfast. It was honestly wonderful once I got a ground floor room. I have a hard time with steps. When I asked, I got switched. If you also have that issue, ask for a ground floor room.
- Nicole (8/5): Very good - Breakfast was excellent. Beds were a bit too firm.
- Doug (7/5): I would recommend this accommodation to friends. - Breakfasts were great and the staff very helpful. We had problems with hot water (couldn't get any) but it was eventually fixed (by the 4th day).
We also expected to have bottled water provided each day but this was not the case. We did ask
each day and were told we would have to pay. We did not, as we feel the cost of the room should
include water.
- Garrett (10/5): Our home away from home - We have stayed at this hotel 4 times and will continue staying here every time we go to San Miguel
The owner and the entire staff are considered as our friends. They are Fantastic! Breakfast, the rooms, the grounds and the roof top view are so Great!
They help you in every way from helping with shuttle service to restaurant recommendations and reservations!
Just love this hotel! It is our home away from home Nothing
- David (9/5): Casa de San Miguel is a sweet boutique hotel, a home away from home. - The staff was welcoming and very accommodating. My husband was ill one day and the kitchen staff made tea and toast for him - so thoughful! The room was beautiful and very comfortable. We definitely appreciated the fireplace in the evenings. The WiFi was unreliable, so we had trouble keeping in touch with family at times.
- Delee (10/5): Exceptional -
- Patrick (10/5): Beautiful spot on private street with great service. - The room was very well designed and comfortable. Fireplace/heater was a nice touch. The bed was very comfortable and warm. Breakfast was delicious. And the staff was very helpful and kind.
- Pierrette (9/5): Superb -
- Sarah (10/5): Loved staying here and hope to return . - We felt very safe in this gated community. The Casa was beautiful and the staff did a great job in accommodating our needs and requests. The breakfast had an exceptional selection and was very good. Our rooms were nice and comfortable. We would definitely stay here again. We were too busy shopping to enjoy the ambiance of the beautiful rooftop area or the exercise room. The grounds are well kept in the center courtyard where the fountain with floating bougainvillea was. Water pressure in one room's bathroom was poor. My friend failed to mention this to me or the staff so it could have been corrected had they known.
- Janeth (10/5): - We loved this place!
- RIchard (10/5): - Beautiful space, very quiet and peaceful. Great bed, comfortable room, nice breakfasts.
- Nelda (10/5): Exceptional - Service is great. Breakfast is made to order. Rooms are clean and staff is really friendly
- luis (10/5): - excelente y tranquila
- Christina (9/5): Fabulous setting, great breakfast and excellent location. - It is beautiful, very private, only 6 rooms. The room was gorgeous and made me feel like I was in Mexico. The staff was very attentive, helpful and friendly- The only negative was the construction next door that started at 9 and ended at 5. Very loud hammering and pounding, made it hard to relax and really appreciate the property.
- ALEJANDRO (10/5): - Excelente experiencia, muy agradable el lugar .
- Anaid M (10/5): Grata sorpresa! - Imperdible
- Veronica (10/5): Will recommend and can’t wait to bring the whole family - Property was clean and near downtown. I love all of it.
- Manuel (10/5): Wonderful from start to finish. - The breakfast was very good with ample variety. The lovely appointments both in the common areas and our room made for a delightful stay. The bed was very comfortable and the quiet of the area afforded a wonderful rest. Most of all though, every member of the staff (including the owner) was super cordial, knowledgeable, attentive and worked together as a team to make the whole experience even more enjoyable. Their recommendations were spot on! The internet was a bit irregular and sketchy in areas of the hotel.
- Stephen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Pamela (10/5): Fabulous! - I loved everything! Gardens, decor, breakfast, the staff and facilities.
A magical place. Instructions for use of the safe in English would have helped me.
- Alejandro (10/5): Exceptional -
- Diane (10/5): Charming property that we would stay at again - Beautiful property- charming walk down alleyway to property. Nothing
- Murray (9/5): Serene beautiful historical property near the historical Centre of San Miguel de Allende . - Beautiful historical property located in a private quiet enclave near the Centre of quaint historical San Miguel de Allende . Each room was large and situated to be extremely private . Located around a beautiful serene inner courtyard . Shaded with abundant vegetation and a running fountain . Spacious public rooms . Amazing rooftop terrace. Very comfortable bed . Mechanicals of the building are a bit outdated . Particularly the bathroom . Shower head was fixed and the pressure was not great . Difficult to regulate water temp . No hand held shower fixture No bidet . Bed was very high . Had steps to get up. A bit dangerous at night. No air conditioning but ceiling fan was generally good . Midday it got a little warm. Breakfast was simple and a little disappointing particularly the selection of fruit and fruit juices and cereals .
- Theresa (10/5): Great inn in SMA - Beautiful old fashioned property. Near downtown but in a quiet spot. Great rooftop. Rooms were large, well appointed with everything. Friendly helpful staff
- Eugene (10/5): Wonderfully relaxing stay in this charming and lovely small hotel - Charming tranquil location with an absolutely lovely roof deck with a great view over the old town. Friendly welcome and relaxed atmosphere. A wonderful place to relax and use as a base to explore the historic center of this lovely town. Breakfast was perfect, great fresh fruit and juices, croissants, and eggs cooked to order. Very little! The only thing I would note is that the bed is very firm, which might bother some guests.
- Nancy (8/5): BEAUTIFUL AND VERY QUIET FOR CLOSE-IN LOCATION - Beautiful grounds, building, room. Breakfast really tasty and beautifully served. They make an absolutely delicious green juice with 12 fruits and vegetables. The staff at breakfast were so very nice. (Ignore the last 3 photos that I can’t delete. That’s the other horrible hotel i stayed at the following week.). I was traveling single, and the place is a bit deserted with minimal staff. Although close to the Centro, it’s a walk on a very dark pedestrian alley at night. And there is nothing even close to a concierge or anyone to help with recommendations, taxis, directions.
- Carlo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kelly (10/5): First time in San Miguel and the facility and staff couldn’t have been nicer. - Location, staff, meals, the best for charm, peace and quiet. Nothing.
- Brian (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was perfect!
Beautiful, clean, park like setting.
Staff/ Owner were all very nice!
- John (10/5): Exceptional - Even our taxi driver had a really hard time finding the dead end
Street where your located Perhaps a small map could be included w the confirmation
- Barbara (10/5): Hidden gem - An absolutely stunning and peaceful place It was very special
- Maxine (10/5): I will definitely be back! - Linda, was excellent in helping me with some logistics and prepared fabulous breakfast each morning. She was extremely kind and friendly...always with a smile! I was fortunate to have met and chatted with the owner, Teressa. She is also just exceptional and runs a beautiful 6 room hotel. I loved everything!
- Mark (10/5): - Superb in all respects. We will definitely return.
- Darwin (8/5): - Bien ubicado. Buen servicio y desayuno. Estacionamiento al frente. Barrio seguro. Pésimo internet en todo el hotel
- Gary (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sofia (9/5): Superb -
- Susanne (10/5): The hotel was quiet, tranquil, clean and well-managed. As there is no public access, it also felt very safe and was a l - Very quiet, peaceful and tranquil. Our room was nicely appointed and the beds were very comfortable. The courtyard was lovely and there were lots of places to sit and relax after a busy day of sightseeing. Our shuttle driver couldn’t find the hotel, as there are several locations with the same street address. The hotel is on a pedestrian walkway not easily accessible by vehicle. Be sure to tell any drivers that you want 17 Pila Seca in the La Aldea district.
- Laura (10/5): Exceptional -
- Susan (9/5): Superb -
- Carlos (10/5): - Tiene todas las opciones anteriores, excelente ubicación, atención, limpieza, decoración, desayuno, estacionamiento.
- Colleen (10/5): Excellence in lodging and hospitality - This boutique exceeded my expectations. Absolutely stunning from our room the location down a no car alleyway, the roof top gave you an amazing view of San Miguel Allende. The staff was so accommodating in every way. I would definitely stay here again the next we visit. You can do nothing improve, amazing stay
Regresaremos pronto.
- Bruce (10/5): Cozy mansion - Totally charming grounds and rooms, very peaceful and warm feelings at every turn. The staff all went out of their way in every way, especially wonderful Linda.
- Edward (10/5): Like staying at your rich Mexican uncle's hacienda - A wonderful place to stay in San Miguel de Allende, almost like having a rich Mexican uncle who had invited me to stay at his hacienda. The rooms were very well appointed. Then breakfast was made to order and good. The staff could not have been more helpful. The internet was spotty. However, as I found out from one of the staff, the room with a computer to which all guests have access has a router, so the internet connection there was excellent.
- Michelle (10/5): The McTiers - Just a few complaints to start off with. The bed in room number 5, it was horrible, HARD as the floor you were walking on, for a place this beautiful it should have a better bed. Breakfast, they served you breakfast every morning which we did not know until our LAST day there. Kinda sucked since it was an expensive stay. They also will arrange a shuttle to airport and do your laundry again we did not know those things. Overall even with those few things it was still a solid 9 on our scale of 1-10. The hotel was absolutely BEAUTIFUL and the staff we did see and speak with was so sweet and helpful. When we return we will stay here again.
- Thomas (10/5): This outstanding hotel has charm and beauty beyond belief. The staff are friendly and helpful. - This is an outstanding hotel! The charm and beauty of it can't be beat. The staff are very, very friendly and helpful!
- Sara (10/5): - Absolutely amazing stay! The staff is so friendly and sweet. The breakfast is incredible. The location is perfect and very quiet.
- Jane (10/5): A lovely oasis in the heart of San Miguel - Beautifully decorated. Close to the center of San Miguel de Allende but away from the hustle and bustle. Lovely spaces to relax like the roof terrace to enjoy a wine. Quiet and peaceful. Free on site parking. The staff were lovely and very attentive. Just a small niggle - the plumbing needs some minor repairs. Water spurts out of the shower head and faucet at all angles.
- Fred (10/5): The room was spacious and cleaned everyday . There is a rooftop area looking all over town . The staff are helpful and v - It is a beautiful property . Very authentic a private peaceful courtyard with a fountain. Just lovely
- Clara (10/5): - This place exceeded our expectations. The staff was amazing, especially Rocio and Linda. They were knowledgeable and courteous. We will definitely return!
- FELIPE DE JESUS (10/5): - La recomiendo ampliamente
- Carlos (6/5): fair - ambience, staff poor wifi
stale bread
- Isaac (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jenny (10/5): a delightful stay in a very charming, secluded property - secluded, beautiful property
- Anelia (9/5): Superb -
- Robin (10/5): A beautiful, peaceful place with a lovely rooftop terrace and caring ,helpful staff. - The location was excellent and the breakfast was excellent as well
- Philip (10/5): - Perfect!
- Gabrielle (10/5): Beautiful- historic architectural detail with comfort + convenenience! - Breakfast was delicious-- loved the cappuccino option, fresh fruit (papaya, kiwi, watermelon) + homemade granola! The internet was spotty, especially in the rooms.
- Chris (10/5): Peaceful and atmospheric hotel - Beautiful old house set around a peaceful courtyard. Very atmospheric.
Beautiful furniture.
Rooftop sun deck was beautiful too.
Lovely breakfast The bathroom was a little tired, but spotlessly clean
- Melissa (10/5): Amazing staff, beautiful hotel and rooms, lovely location. - loved the location but the beautiful design by far exceeded any expectations! absolutely loved every minute of our stay and sometimes we opted for drinks on the hotel rooftop rather than a restaurant because it was so lovely. absolutely would recommend! No, everything was great
