Guest Reviews
- Ji (4/5): - This is very small town. So when other motel is full, this will be the only choice you have. You will need the keys to access, make sure you arrive before the deadline.
- JOSEPH (10/5): - Ivy, the Manager, was very welcoming to me!
The room that she offered me was clean, modern, and had everything I like, including the price.
It has become a favorite hotel for me in Blairmore.
- Barry (10/5): - It's history.
- Scot (4/5): - Old hotel with an old renovation. Was clean but overpriced for what it is
- Rio (4/5): - No matter the cost, I expect a clean room and a bar of soap. This had neither.
I have a hearty tolerance for cheap motels, but this was on another level- to where I couldn’t relax, feel safe, and rest well. The surfaces of my room were all dirty, the lamp had no bulb, there were bits of broken, unusable furniture seemingly being stored in my room. The heritage quaintness ends on the outside, as well, as it seems this hotel underwent a hasty refurb in the 70s or so, and has since been left to languish.
I’d warn you to find somewhere else to stay.
- Margaret (6/5): - A very old building but the rooms are clean, beds are comfy. A good hotel for the price. It was just a last night pit stop before we headed back home and it worked well for 3 of us in the family room.
- Dale (6/5): - Very old hotel and as a result a lot of the furniture etc. is quite vintage.
The manager and staff are very friendly and helpful.
Didnt have a coffee maker in the room and Blairmore unfortunately doesn't have any convenient coffee shop near the hotel. Seems quite expensive for what you get.
- Shae (2/5): - Check in process was pathetic. Front desk/office is not staffed 24/7. This property is not mobility impaired people friendly at all! No elevator and 2nd floor where the rooms start are only accessible by 18 step steep stairs plus another 8 steps up! We tried to cancel our stay once my 80 year old mother saw the stairs but even after Expedia tried to negotiate a refund based on mobility issues the Cosmopolitan Hotel Manager refused and wanted to penalize us $280. As this amount of money is not a joke we decided to tough it out. The room amenities are outdated and old! Air conditioning unit is not fit for a doghouse! The toilet is so low that you may as well sit on the floor! The TV remote was missing and I tried to phone the office about it but nobody answered the phone! The chamber maid doesn’t speak English so asking for toilet paper was beyond an adventure.
Simply put, this is a dumpster fire and will never stay in it again. Do yourself a favour and avoid it and stay elsewhere.
- Mark (2/5): - When we book online, it was allowed that we can book it, at 11:45 pm meaning someone or somebody is at the front desk because they accepted our booking, we arrived at the hotel 10-15 minutes and nobody’s around , they posted a 2 # to call but either of the two # is answering, we came from a long drive and need a hotel to stay and this is what happened
- Julian (2/5): - Awful conditions. Dirty linen and towels
- John (4/5): - Need to update everything
- Marion (6/5): - Close
- Emma (10/5): - I enjoyed my stay. Bed was comfortable before running my race the next morning
- Verified traveler (6/5): Older but good price - It’s very dated as expected from the outside but it felt clean, The bed wasn’t very sturdy so moved a lot making for a restless night. The price was good for the area though. We are at The Pass brewery which was a quick drive and that was a great spot.
- Ryan (8/5): - Friendly staff. I thought the building was a little down trodden, it made me worry about my room. Was i ever suppr8sed to see my beautiful, modern and clean room. We had a great stay in our family room. It was quiet and lovely.
- Wazir (2/5): Do not book this Hotel. - Before check in to Hotel I did call several time they never respond my phone call I did request cancel my reservation they refused and charged my card.
- Jason (10/5): - Nice place. Reasonably priced.
- Dave (2/5): - No matter the price, I still expect a clean room and soap. Not the case here.
- Vanessa (2/5): - Never checked in as I could not.. no one was at the desk and when I called the number on the door for service it was out of service.
- steven (8/5): - Slept like a king
- Keila (2/5): - Very squeaky, very lopsided bed.
No soap in bathroom.
Towels all stained.
Disinfectant wipe was brown after wiping every surface.
Bathroom very unclean - toilet and sink look like they weren’t cleaned after the last guest.
This place is VERY OLD and sketchy. Would not recommend. You’re probably better off spending an extra $80 or so and stay at the chain hotels in the area.
- Marilyn (4/5): - Property very old, tavern accepted cash only, ATM machine out of order, restaurant closed, TV was not connected in room so we requested another one, cable had been disconnected, train goes by 2-3 times a night, towels were a dark colour, prefer white, not comparable to other hotels we have stayed at for same price....
Room was clean, Shower had great water pressure, bed was old but fairly comfortable, lady at check in was very pleasant
- Carol (2/5): - No elevator and you had to carry your luggage upstairs. No charging ports, non functional tv. And on and on
- Carolyn (4/5): - It was over priced!! I can’t believe there was absolutely no water !!! That to me not being able to do basic is unbelievable
- Jeffrey (6/5): - Property was dated, but clean. Cheap option to just sleep. 120 year old building, would be what you think it should be. Nothing fancy but was effective for what we needed.
- Deanna (4/5): - Although I have to agree with others about how friendly the owner is, the room was terrible. Short black pet hair covered every surface, several long black hairs between the sheets, dirty bedspread and a leaky tub that was almost on full blast, it was leaking so hard! And the room smelled of mold. No fridge, crumbs on the headboard. This could be a prime location, as a wonderful night market was taking place over the weekend. Management needs to pay more attention to detail, and they could have a successful buisness in this beautiful town.
- Daniel (8/5): - They were only taking cash at check in due to computer issues which would have been nice to know about before.
- Andy (10/5): - The room was quite basic, but the owner was such a lovely lady. She was really kind and friendly. I would absolutely recommend this hotel. Don’t expect too much luxury, but if you’re on a budget it’s an amazing choice
- Andy (10/5): - Well worth the money. Basic hotel but the owner was so nice and friendly.
- Arwen (8/5): - Its an old hotel, it is cash only, but it is close and convient to the start of Sin 7 and walkable feom the finish so that was a win.
- john (4/5): - Had a TV in the room but no plug to plug it in when we asked for a TV plug they said TVs were not working. Sketchy area, building was quite run down. There was a musty odor in the rooms and we had to supply our own toilet paper as they left us a quarter roll and we ran out and no one was around. Would never go back here. Would not recommend this hotel. Needs a complete facelift and overhaul.
- JoAnn (6/5): C - We arrived at 11:15 PM. Had to wake up the front desk person. She gave us someone else’s key. Had to go back down to get the correct key to our room. Room very, very hot. All the air conditioner in wall did not work well, but it did cool down the room through the night. Bed was very uncomfortable and well worn out.
- normand (2/5): - Rooms were nice and big. But overall outdated and no television, no fridge and microwave and limited parking
- Euna (2/5): - Not clean
- Ruby (4/5): - No tv No ice only cash on everything even sign in ac not working but dog friendly hotel staff was nice over all one and done will NOT be back
- Arnold (8/5): - Very nice staff
- Sheila (4/5): - Kind helpful staff are the saving grace for this hotel. Advertised as modern rooms, but definitely not modern by any stretch. No fridge. AC is window unit, didn’t work very well. Tub was gross, sink drain was corroded and rusty. Under bed was dusty with hairballs.
All rooms are on 2nd floor, where the hallway was full of furniture and old fridges etc at the end. There’s no elevator, so hauling luggage upstairs was not fun.
TV was not working at all, they said they’re trying to switch services so no tv.
Was first told to park behind hotel in an alley full of trash and junk - then she said to park on street instead.
The proprietor was very very nice, and made the stay tolerable.
- Justin (8/5): Older small town hotel - A very nice, older small town hotel above a local pub. Wonderful and friendly staff who were very helpful. The hotel has some history behind it and we enjoyed being a part of a piece of history.
- Ken (6/5): - They were in the process of updating so it wasn’t as nice as it could be, but it was ok fir a night
- Jason (6/5): - Bedding was not clean and all furniture was too old, barely surviving.
- Kris (6/5): - The rooms where quite large with comfortable beds I found dispite the resteraunt being down for renovations it was fair value for money
- Don (2/5): - The manager was nice. Holes in blanket didnt work no air conditioner. Did get a room with air eventually
- MaryAnn (4/5): - The ad is wrong. There was no air conditioning. One window was taped shut. Thank goodness I got a fan because it was 32° in the room. The restaurant is shut down (permanently???). I couldn’t even get a cup of coffee because the person who works there starts at 2 PM in the bar. There were no toiletries in the bathroom -not even soap to wash your hands. The train runs through town and the tracks are right across the street. It came through twice in the middle of the night;blasting its horn all the way through!
- Kelly (4/5): - No tv. No coffee or cups no wash cloths. Room was notcleaned from last occuppent. Bed was not made either.
- Chelle (4/5): - We did not feel welcome in our room. Our Tv doesn’t have a cable, it’s not working. No coffee mug, no spoons or anything, we did not have any soap or shampoo in our room. it’s sad. But staff is friendly
- Cristina (6/5): - Lots of small things need to be fixed.
- Rhonda (2/5): - No where on the advertisement did it state that there was no main floor rooms. Large inconvenience as there was a customer in my party at was unable to climb stairs. I reached out the the company through email, letting them know I was in need of a ground level room . They let me know that it was book and to see us on the 21 of April . We showed up to find out there was no way we could access that room. Had to cancel the booking to find a different hotel. Very unhappy Now I have to go back to Expedia to get my money returned.
- Catherine (10/5): - Nice
- Kulmehak Kaur (2/5): Horrible experience - It was so bad, dirty and such a smelly places.
- Donald (10/5): - Ok hotel for price, friendly staff , ok location, older hotel, but to be expected for Price
- Jason (10/5): - Traveled down for work. Beds were comfy, rooms clean, front desk attendant was friendly. Rates pretty decent
- Cadence (10/5): - It’s cute I like the classic key.
- Dennis (4/5): - Old and smelled terrible.
- David (10/5): - Great Old Historic Hotel! Updated to be a great modern hotel. Refurbished and very comfortable. Everything works as it should.
- Jen (2/5): - Don’t do it!!!! Fake eyelashes and razor left in bathroom. Very unclean. Left after 4 hours of being there.
- Shane (8/5): - It was very nice an quiet
- Dallas KD (10/5): - We were blown away by The Cos! We booked a family suite for our family ski trip and the space for the price was unbelievable!!! Although there wasn’t always someone at the front desk, and the number to call/text was never answered we had the service we needed to check-in, get new garbage bags and extra pillows and SOMEONE grabbed our garbage bag and toddler diaper before we could even get downstairs to take it to garbage ourselves. Front desk gal was absolutely friendly and helpful when we did talk to her. It was a great location for heading to the ski hill OR taking my kids on a walk and shopping. Even tho the bar downstairs was busy each night we were not disturbed in our suite right above it. We felt safe and only ran into friendly people every step of the way. We cannot wait to stay again!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
- Jogchum (6/5): - OK hotel, considering the price this is what you can get
- Tyler (8/5): - Good price/value for what it is, a cheap hotel for the night. Not comparing it to a $120 /night room.
- Shane (8/5): - The whole experience was very nice
- raylan (2/5): - worst experience i have, the room is too cold, heating not work at tall.saw the previous review , the issue occur long time ago, why still post the room to be reserved ,
- Heidi (4/5): - Fine for a quick stopover, but you get what you pay for. Room was clean, but heat wasn’t working well (room was 12C) and there was no hot water, only lukewarm. Thankfully when I asked, staff got a space heater.
- Andrew (2/5): - I didnt even stay there i looked at the room and was disgusting and wanted to leave and they didnt know how to refund my money. Reduculous.
I am going to the Better Business Bureau
- Joyful (10/5): - Good
- Cory (8/5): Great affordable place to stay in Blairmore - Great affordable place to stay. Although the building is older, it is clean and the staff were freindly and helpful
- Barbara (10/5): - Room was old but one of the cleanest hotel rooms i have ever been in
- Valerie (6/5): - A coffee maker, mini fridge and microwave in the room that works would be very much appreciated. Power went out in morning in some areas and a phone or access to staff would be great also, thank you!
- Shariann (4/5): - It’s a cool old building, it’s kept clean. I think there are people actually living in the building. They left the microwave beeping almost all night, every night.
- David (10/5): - Historical older Hotel but well renovated and maintained while still showing antiquity. Clean room, fresh and comfy! Scenic view of the Rocky Mountains right outside my window... Wow 👌
- Mike (8/5): - It was clean and very affordable.
- Elmer (8/5): - Helpful Staff, Friendly Patrons
- Terry (8/5): - It was good , the room was cost effective , it was clean smelled like Lysol Nice and quiet
- Lucas (8/5): - Staff was great. Property was old and needed upgrading. The only complaint was there was little heat in the room. Had to request multiple blankets to keep us warm. Would recommend addressing the heating in the rooms.
- Sagar (10/5): - Everything
- micheline (10/5): - Kyle really make us feel welcome and help us
With checking and everything
He give us a special attention
- Chris (10/5): - Great service
- Calvin (2/5): - This hotel is out of a horror movie. Cracks in the walls, floor creaking everywhere. Literally considered sleeping in the truck
- Marx (4/5): - I had to check in with Expedia at the front desk, they couldn’t do it. There was one channel, remote didn’t work, no coffee maker. For $170 it was a costly night for limited extras. And no breakfast.
- Brian (6/5): - There were water stains and peeling paint on the ceiling, there was a mass of dead insects inside the ceiling light glass, no mini fridge in the room. We found the smoke detector under the bed and I had to reattach it to the ceiling. The bed was very comfortable and the amenities nearby were awesome! 3/10 will not stay again.
- Ireneusz (4/5): - Property may have been updated but not to a good standard. We had to turn on the half working aircon to drowned out the fighting couple and drunks on the street. Was only option available when we booked.
- Keith (4/5): - Like that it was easy to find. Didnt like that there was no coffee available in the room. No key drop off in the moening of departure and to one to avaiable to get a final receipt from upon departure.
- Vicki (6/5): - It was a decent place to stay for one night. Definitely reflects a 2 star hotel; nothing more, nothing less. The inside of the building did smell like stale cigarettes, but the room was clean and attended to. Front desk not always available, especially if one wished to check out early… No one there. Good for one night.
- Bree (10/5): - I didnt care about its short comings. The staff were great, it was cheap and the kids loved the space. The character and history of the building will have me going back and back again
- Dixie (2/5): - Retro carpets need to be removed Staff member Kyle needs to recognize great guy went over and above to make our enjoyable. Thanks Kyle
- Ashley (2/5): - Paid probably way too much just to get some sleep 1 night and that's not possible here. People yelling in the hallway til 1am. Paper thin walls. AC unit barely worked as well. Got woken up super early so we just packed and left earlier than we normally would have.
- Bryan (8/5): - Quiet
- Pamela (4/5): - There was hair in the bed, comforter was dirty, room was dirty, and dated. Beds were extremely uncomfortable. Building smelled of stale cigarette smoke. I would never stay here again
- Robert (8/5): - The rooms have been very well updated considering the age of the property. Clean and tidy. Easy parking. One negative observation - no channels available on TV.
- Gloria (2/5): - Unfortunately, not maintained at all. It has great potential, however, it appears that there is little to no maintenance undertaken with this property. Significantly overpriced! Less than a desirable odour on the main floor. It is so sad to see this great building falling into disrepair. Will not stay here again.
- Jennifer (8/5): - Loved that it was part of the history
- Jim (8/5): - ok for our needs
- Rena (10/5): - Service was exceptional. Very clean, economical and convenient accommodation.
- Gansheng (4/5): - Like: The building is good. The room is good and clean. The shower is much water, some good.
Don't like: No microwave for food. No heat made me sick. The shower water was leaking. The rubber pad inside the shower pool was slippery, almost made me accident, because the leaking water was under the rubber pad.
- Faye (8/5): - It was nice, clean & pretty quiet. Except for drunken lady who couldn’t you though we should all her about her problems at around 3 am.
I know this has nothing to do with the hotel but the only complaint is the train @ 4am…. Do they really need to blow the horn.. yes they do because of an uncontrolled train crossing.. put in lights at the train track so your visitor can enjoy a good sleep well they are visiting your beautiful town
- angela (6/5): - It's fine. Clean, easy, nothing fancy, but just what we needed.
- Mary (6/5): - It is right downtown, so location is good. Very old building, not been renovated on a long time.
Staff were friendly.
- Sam (2/5): - Room smells. I’m not staying there
- Laura (10/5): - Older hotel that has been cleaned up, staff are friendly and the rooms have A/C and I found the bed extremely comfortable. The tavern has fair priced drinks however the kitchen is not open yet. I would come back.
- George (2/5): Hotel is basically for workers. - It was not good. There was no way we were going to stay there.
The room was not made up very dirty.
- Matt (2/5): - Management gave my room away i booked on expedia, then i had to wait another 30-40 minutes while management scrambled to recitify the situation, and then they charged me for the night again which im currently trying to get reimbursed for.
The only good
