Guest Reviews
- gonzalez rubiano (3/5): -
- Mark (6/5): Spacious apartment with lift access, very basic facilities - The apartment was spacious and well laid out. Lift access was good only 6-7 stairs to the lobby.
Security was good. There were a few small things that other properties provide that were missing that would have improved the stay:
No shampoo or body wash
No tea towel to dry dishes
No tea or coffee
Only 1 toilet roll
The most significant issue is that the power will trip in the basement if you have the washing machine running, have a shower (hot water) and have heating on low. This involves entering a shared basement which is full of rubbish and junk, is wet and very low arches to find an electricity meter/switch which is not labeled ( there is a video).
Did not feel safe in that area.
- Jayant (3/5): This Apartmentr was NOT at all, worth the money charged....we stayed on, as we had no other choice.. - There was NO breakfast.
The location was good. The facilities, were very bad. The electric power, tripped, all the times, and in odd times, and it was not a good experience to go down in the basement, which was very dirty, to switch on the tripped switch.....we could not even use the heating , during the night, when it was really cold, as the electric capasity was very weak / low...and we could not afford any tripping of electricity, during the night....there was No toaster....The washing machine could not be used, because of weak eletric power, faced problems in cooking also...it was Not good....

- Mihai Emanuel (3/5): Disappointing - A very beautiful area, full of cheerful people Although it looks good in the pictures, pretty much everything in the apartment is damaged, from the swollen and moldy furniture in the bathroom, to the peeling bed and the mattress in waves, to the burnt and sticky kitchen countertop..
The electrical installation is done in a mess, if the boiler, air conditioning and stove work, or the hair dryer, or the kettle, or the coffee maker..the fuse will blow, but not one of the ones in the house, you have to go to the "cellar" to the general fuse of the electric meter.
The oven is so dirty that you can't touch it.
We managed but we will definitely not stay here again, too bad, the area is very beautiful and lively, the pictures are taken at the apartment reception.

- Elena (1/5): You are travelers too — would you like to spend a night without light, water, or safety in a foreign country? - The location is excellent — right in the heart of Chinatown, a lively and youthful area full of cafés, restaurants, and local color. ⭐️ Very disappointed with the conditions and safety of this accommodation
When we arrived, there was a strong unpleasant smell — a sour body odor — and the bed cover was completely permeated with it.
There were no toiletries, the air conditioner didn’t work, and the lighting was very poor — only one small lamp.
The refrigerator was dirty, and the sink drain was clogged.
On the first evening, we had to shower with cold water until I personally adjusted the boiler from 30°C to 80°C.
The most disturbing incident happened on the third night, when the electricity was completely turned off.
It turned out that the main power switch was located in a dark basement, outside the apartment, inaccessible to guests.
My 73-year-old mother and I spent the whole night without light, water, internet, or communication in a foreign country, until the hosts finally sent us a video the next morning showing where to go to restore power.
It’s very sad that such circumstances ruined what could have been a pleasant stay.
Safety and cleanliness should be a basic standard for any property listed on Booking.com.

- Caterina (5/5): Benino, - Mi piace molto questo appartamento di come è strutturato. Ehmmm non c’erano i prodotti come bagnoschiuma , shampoo ecc.
il resto tutto okay
- Robert (8/5): We enjoyed our stay - felt as though a few little things might have made stay even better - Chinatown location Difficult check in whilst you are already travelling
- Rosemary (9/5): Nice apartment, good area. - Location was good and main bedroom was large. TV didn't work and when a message was sent to host, he acknowledged the message and said he would find out, but I never heard from them again.
- Watheq (3/5): Poor - No air conditioning. Actually there is air conditioning system but the owner kept the remote, locked the wall panel with a box, so that no one can actually use it.
The alternative is to open the window to get some air in to be able to sleep, and in that case the noises coming from outside all night (as it is in the middle of China town) will prevent you from sleeping.
Location is not accessible by car, so if you have luggage it’s tiring.
Although the apartment itself if ok, the building is smelly from the moment you enter the external door all the way to the fifth floor.
The electric water heater is so noisy.
- Joanne (5/5): Standard, clean empty flat but electricity might go out if you use too many appliances at once - We liked that the location was on a street with a lot going on, lots of places to eat in Chinatown, and the place was pretty central and closeby to many things. We also liked that the flat had a lift, AC, and general space to walk around and hang out while we were resting. It was clean and was a bare-bones apartment for a short stay. The view was nice as you overlook the street below. Checking in was no-frills - we arrived earlier and they were able to pick up the phone and let us through the gate. From there, you get your keys from a lockbox in front of the flat's door. Overall, check-in and checkout were a breeze. There was a stress factor in this apartment: the appliances' power usage. We could not turn on more than two appliances simultaneously (apart from lights and the refrigerator) because it would trigger the circuit breaker to turn off. The property agent for this flat said that it was because we could not surpass a certain power based on Italian law, but I have never had this issue with any of the other flats that I've stayed in in Italy. The way to turn the breaker back on was to go into the building's basement, which was not a pleasant experience the two times I had to go down there. This was a significant inconvenience and I would caution other guests that if this is a stressor to rethink booking this place.
Furthermore, because this flat was on an extremely busy street and we stayed during a summer weekend, the sound from the street below might bother some guests because the murmur from the crowd is very audible even with the shutters and glass windows closed and would last until 1 am. It did not bother us but might be important for others.
- Abel (8/5): Very good place and location in the party street Paolo Sarpi. - The location is good. Easy to move from there. And Via Paolo Sarpi is a party street for locals and tourists in ChinaTown. The kitchen, beds, and bathroom were clean and comfortable. Parking 24h nearby. Elevator from some steps. No microwave. No iron. The iron is very important for us in every place we go.
- Sonia (8/5): Good apartment! - Great communications with the city. Great apartment with enough space to fit 4 people. Good assortment of supplies. We had a power outage and the path to the building’s light panel was quite creepy and without enough explanation and security. Be careful with pluging in more than 2-3 appliances.
- Roxanne (2/5): Don't stay here - Construction zone - Lady took us down to show us how to turn on electricity as it was a construction zone. Do not stay here. We tried to get our money back as it was nothing like advertised and she wouldn't even consider it. We have video of open construction areas as you walk a few floors down. There were bars on the window as you turned down the hallway to go to your room. Not impressed and couldn't leave quick enough.
- Alison (4/5): Fix the electric issue!!!! - Host Messaged 2 hours before check in to delay for an hour and a half and then messaged again when we arrived to delay for yet another 30 minutes. Outside of apartment is a building site with scaffolding up everywhere and very noisy building work going on. The apartment is on 5th floor accessed by stairs or a very old rickety lift supported by scaffolding. A man showed us to the apartment which had not been cleaned since the last guests had left. We waited yet another half hour whilst the man cleaned the apartment. I tried to contact Alessia but she never responded. The apartment itself is very nice (once cleaned!) No microwave but everything you need.Great central location lots of bars/food outlets but can be quite noisy The windows open inwards with shutters that open outwards, unfortunately with the scaffolding up we could not open the shutters so no daylight or fresh air. Then there is the major issue with the electricity that randomly switches off. You have to go down to the ground floor out the building around the side through a basement door down 2 flights of stairs and through some windy corridors to find the switch to turn it back on! It's dark and creepy down there and this happened several times throughout our stay! Unfortunately until all the issues are fixed I highly recommend you stay somewhere else!
- Verified traveler (2/5):
Without heating in winter ! - We stayed here 2 days and 2 nights without a heater in winter with temperatures of 1 degree.
The electricity would go off 6 to 8 times a day, it was a nightmare.
We have to go down to a basement sinister, like catacombs, without light, with cobwebs, with mold, very cold and humid, to turn it back on. We were not able to cook or use an iron for our clothes. Not even the hair dryer or anything plugged because the moment the heater turns on the power goes out.
We had to eat out every day spending a lot of money that was not our initial idea for this trip.
We had to leave with our hair wet in the middle of the rain in freezing temperatures.
I get sick with fever, sore throat and cough.
We couldn't eve iron out clothes for the work we came here for. We didn't come here for pleasure we were working.
They did not respect privacy, they entered with their key.
Because of all this and the horrible experience that has cost me more money than I imagine, I'm asking for a full refund.
This place should not even be offered for tourists until all this issues get fixed.
- Brett (8/5): - Great stay, lovely apartment. Alittle awkward trying to organise meeting to collect keys. The area around was nice but is a walk away from real Italy. Apart from that had a good stay
