• james (8/5): Cosy but smelly. - Stayed here before. Room was ok, just smelled damp and took a few hours to air out.

• DG (4/5): - The room was uncomfortably hot and quite dark. The only window was looking out into the staircase so we couldn't open it or even open the curtains. The bathroom stunk of bad drains. There were some long black shreds sticking from under the bed

The staff assured us the room would be serviced by the time we got back from our dinner however was not and was still in an unacceptable state. We emailed the manager to complain about the condition of our room and the poor service and never received a reply. Terrible.

• Verified traveler (8/5): Fab little hotel - The hotel is fantastic for the price, big bed, spacious room and lovely bathroom. Only flaws would be our room door was very hard to open and shut very stiff and had to force it shut at night and our bathroom window gave great natural light but no blinds for a bit of privacy and since our room was at the side of a public path i would have liked a bit more privacy.

• Milad (2/5): No Electricity!!! - Now i understand why the price was low. Didn't even have electricity as they turn it off after a certain time. Room was boiling and couldn't sleep. Had to pay £10 just to use the kitchen. Avoid staying here.
• Ian (6/5): Basic and hot - Arrived at 2.20pm - room not ready! Room was very large and clean if very basic. Massive problem was that it faced the main road to the train station and was on the ground floor so you couldn't open the window and it was a boiling, hot day. No air con so room was very hot!! I had to open the window but then couldn't relax as people constantly walking past - not much sleep was had!
• Kenneth (6/5): No my best experience - Enclosed room just as wide as mattress. No padding on mattress so just a sheet. Open shower area in adequately large bathroom. Noisy party in halls.
• Adrian (10/5): Well done to the Quarterz staff. - On a business trip I booked four rooms, two for 4 night and two for five nights. With different staff arriving later and some going home early. We were able to shuffle people around and the Hotel staff were perfect in allowing us the flexibility to change staff in the accommodation. Changing bedding etc.

• Verified traveler (4/5): Great staff and location but worryingly unclean. - The room was not clean at all. The toilet had poo and dried urine stains on it, the was hair on the floor and stains on the bedding. The shower doors were ill fitting which left about a 2 inch gap somewhere no matter how you triedto close them, so afterva 5 minute shower, the floor had a big wet patch. The room was small which is really not a problem but we were placed in an adjacent room to a family who were shouting in the kitchen outside our room at 7am (womderful on your only day off). The only real positives were 1. The friendly staff; they quickly dealt with some of the issues we had. 2. How close the apartments were to the main city centre. It cost £3 in a local taxi and was less than a 5min drive.
• andrew (8/5): Chester race's. - Four friends going to Chester race's so booked two twin rooms for one night. The hotel is convenient for the train station and a steady walk into the main shopping area. The rooms are clean but basic nice bathrooms. I would not book this location if you want luxury or romantic experience. Was not worth the £300 Maybe half this.
• Neil (6/5): Quality could be improved. - We booked four rooms. My hot water was not working the last day and the beds were very basic in comfort. I had a desk but no chair to sit at it. Overall it was average and I was grateful we did not spend much time in the room

• Sasha (8/5): Welcoming staff - I requested a ground floor or 1st floor room due to mobility issues. The hotel got in touch really soon after booking to confirm they had allocated a ground floor room. We were greeted really warmly by the 2 members of staff who stored our bags unt we were able to check in. We were upgraded to a triple room which was really spacious. The only downside for me is that I'm used to a quiet area, living in a rural location, so the road out front was a little noisy for me.
• Andy (10/5): Great base at a great price. - Arrived very early knowing we wouldn't be able to check in but the friendly receptionist allowed us to leave our bags. When we returned later to check in the process was smooth. We had 4 rooms of 4 single beds; the rooms were clean and spacious with large bathrooms. We only used the hotel as a base for the night but it was great with a very good central location.

• Trev (8/5): - Welcoming smile on our arrival and showed to our room. The room in itself was quite good, nice size and comfortable bed. The on suite was a good size too. I think that the only downside is that the rooms at the rear of the hotel face into an inner stairway which echoes with people talking and generally moving around. We didn't get much sleep due to the herd of elephants in the room above. The last time we stayed we had a room at the front of the hotel. Would definitely recommend this hotel and stay again but in the older part of the hotel.

• Verified traveler (2/5): Do not stay here - An absolutely awful experience with the staff at this hotel. Had to move rooms 3 times in 12 hours and I have had no apologies from any member of staff. I have tried to contact the manager via emails and have had no response.
• Verified traveler (2/5): Had better nights camping in the snow! - I had booked to stay in Chester as a treat for my husbands birthday. The heating was not working and one of the windows would not close properly. As the room was on the top floor in the roof space, the wind was blowing in through the window all night. What should have been a romantic stay ended up being a very uncomfortable evening of very little sleep, having got into bed fully clothed because it was so cold. The staff was completely unsympathetic and has completely ignored my email complaint.

• Suzanne (6/5): Basic but clean. - Reception stinks of cigarettes when you walk in, and rooms are basic and a little tired looking even though they are not so old. Have stayed at Roomzzz inChester which is a similar offering and Roomzzz is of much better quality for the price. Pillows awfully thin but bedding and bathroom clean.
• Janet (8/5): Chester University Visit - Bathroom was fantastic, and warm. The roof we slept in was cold and the duvet did not keep us very warm. The location was great and staff friendly
• Paul (6/5): Good location, big room but awful smell of drains - The location was really good, the room and bathroom were of a good size. The only downside is that there was an awful smell of the drains in the room, it didn't help that the apartment was in the basement, it suffered from damp as well because the paint was pealing off the walls in places.

Air conditioning was on and no instructions available to switch off making room very cold. Eventually succeeded in switching it off which meant the room was a more acceptable temperature. No coat hangers in wardrobe. Clean room and bathroom although shower very difficult to get to a usable temperature. Receptionist very helpful and welcoming

Paid three nights @ three days at NCP car park returned from Liverpool on second day to find no spaces. Was told by carpark attendant Tough and to find another carpark and pay again. Packed suitcase and came home.
• Gina (8/5): Hotel review - We had a lovely stay at quarters staff were really helpful, only thing we could quibble about was our room was a room at the front and was very noisy from the traffic , Windows need to be double glazed
• Verified traveler (2/5): - Rooms freezing, at 3° outside on arrival and dropping further. Heating in room not working. Reception said heating was on a timer and isnt on during the day, just a little during the night. When asked to adjust to heat the room up she said shs had no access to change it and unfortubately it just comes on on its own and she doesnt know when. There was no attempt at all to try to help fix the issue. There was a door in bathroom floor which was pretty sharp around the edges. You couldnt avoid it due to bathroom being so small. TV also poorly positioned so unabke to watch comfortably

• Verified traveler (6/5): - The receptionist on duty from afternoon to late evening was efficient, friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. Shower room great though no hair dryer. This is an apart hotel, I had a double bedroom which was okay but small, luckily I was on my own. The bed also seemed to be a bit short as my feet fell off the bottom. The heating in the building had not been turned on and it was chilly, this is where the receptionist came into her own as she managed to find me a heater for when I returned from dinner and this made all the difference to the quality of my night there. The "apartment" bit was interesting as it was a different room shared with another completely separate bedroom. This contained a washing machine, tumble dryer and dishwasher but no fridge. I was expecting something more self contained with a sofa etc from my previous experience of apart hotel accommodation so this was disappointing.
• nicola (8/5): Good for the money, clean and great location. - We paid £70 for a night in a double deluxe room. It was nice and clean, with good friendly reception staff. Very central location. The bed wasn’t the comfiest with two single beds pushed together but it did us for the one night. It was quiet, could hear some Doors bang but not enough to be a problem. There is a slight smell of blocked drains in the central staircase but our rooms were fine. We were on second floor and I had read that the basement can be quite smelly. Overall, it was great and I would stay again for this money.
• Brian (2/5): Won’t be stopping here again - Hi I don’t tend to complain but there’s a few things that wasn’t right . Bathroom floor tiles all loose and cracked /sharp plus no toilet roll and it was not clean . The room smelt of cigarette smoke and the noise outside was too loud .

• Amber (6/5): Close to city centre - There were a few problems - the layout of the hotel was quite weird (I was on the bottom floor) and I could hear everyone’s footsteps from above me. There were also NO windows that opened and let in any sort of natural lighting which was odd - it made the room quite stuffy and dark. The window that was there faced the inside meaning you had to permanently have the curtain shut or everyone walking past could see your whole room. We stayed 2 nights and on the first morning, our door was locked. However, a staff member unlocked our door whilst we were in the room and asked if we wanted it cleaning?! This was just weird and an invasion of privacy in my opinion. The bathroom was also more of a wet room than anything, if you had a shower water would cover the floor and would stay there for ages as there was no windows to open.
• caroline (2/5): Terrible place like a sardine can - What can I say staff had no customer service skills. Looked at the room which was so small, we asked if we could upgrade to something bigger and was told they are only for contractors and the photos that were poster was not them but Expedia. So call Expedia for no help now I am in dispute with the hotel and Expedia getting no were for a refund. Ended up staying at the Premier Inn amazing service - my advise if you are not good with small spaces stay right away !!!!
• David (8/5): Short stay - Good stay . There was a problem with a toilet that wouldn't flush. Someone arrived to complete a temporary fix but it only flushed intermitantly and I kept having to sort it myself. Irritating but I don't see what else could have been done ad I only stayed one night.they did thier best at short notice and were very apologetic.
