Guest Reviews
- Paul (10/5): - The location! If you are visiting for Rome life near the Vatican and St Peter’s this is amazing.
Fantastic service and room thank you
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The location! If you are visiting for Rome life near the Vatican and St Peter’s this is amazing.
Fantastic service and room thank you
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The place was just apartment style and not a hotel. Much disappointed since Actual rooms were far below the picture shown in Hotels.com. Had a hard terrible time to get into the building; had to go to another street to gain entry; Marco was patient though in giving our requests for soap, more pollows, bed sheets, pillow cases; explaining how to use the elevator, keys to the rooms.
We were expecting a hotel style and not apartment style and so will not stay here again nor in any ‘room’ type.
- Michael (10/5): - Our host Marco was friendly and attrntive.
- Lune (8/5): - Localização
- Malcolm (10/5): - Marco was really helpful. I recommend :)
- Natalie (10/5): Perfect stay for Rome with metro right outside! - We stayed here while visiting Rome with our family. It was in a perfect location with the metro right outside the door. This is one of the most convenient things about this place. It’s a short walk to the Vatican and you can easily take the metro to the heart of Rome. The host met us at arrival and always fulfilled our needs, like giving us extra towels. He was very friendly and gave us food recommendations. This area felt safe, with the building having multiple doors/locks you need to get passed.
- Stavroula (6/5): Very basic - - Room was basic, not well cleaned and mattress was extremely uncomfortable and has very large stains. No mattress cover so you know mattress is dirty.
We were taken by host to a different hotel entirely at first and only after we highlighted the room did not look like the pictures did he admit that the room was a at different location. Went back and was still given a smaller room with the promise of moving to the correct room the next day. Which they did honor early in the am. The location though is fantastic and the redeeming factor. Train outside the door and walking distance to several restaurants and coffee shops. Vatican about 5-7 min walk. I would suggest skip this one if in Rome though for the price.
- Tynisia (8/5): - The room was quiet, safe area, with transportation just down the stairs. It was walkable to destinations. There were multiple restaurants including a beautiful place around the corner that served breakfast at 6am. Coffee, eggs, toast, salad. This is definitely a great find.
- Antonella (10/5): - Posizione strategica
- Adela Y (10/5): Lovely days in Rome - Pros & Cons : Marco the manager was great ( got hold of him before arrival and he coordinated our transportation since we arrived around 1900) & when we transferred to another hotel ( which is the place for pickup for our cruise ) walking distance to St. Peter’s Basilica and Vatican, you can have your luggages on hold after checkout so you don’t have to carry around while
sightseeing ( wished I knew it sooner ); clean room with firm bed ( which I like ); has an “ old fashion “ elevator if you need to use it ( we did with our luggages - glad we were on the first floor ) ; vouchers given for breakfast with a nearby delicatessen/pastry place for a light pastry breakfast and drink ; Metro is right there ; wifi was offered but we had difficulty connecting ( wished we told
Marco sooner ; we didn’t have to have the room cleaned due to shorter stay ; our window was facing the street so we can watch and hear the activities even during late night ( which we did not mind ) ; wished there were more than 2 pillows in a king room ; Marco responded quickly when I contact him ( WhatsApp is the best way )
- Christina (10/5): - This is in a great location and the manager helped us with our luggage and even arranged a car to the airport the next day for us. Would definitely recommend.
- Donna (8/5): Great location , good price - The host was great all through booking.
Perfect location for attractions such as Vatican
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Close to Vatican and surrounding areas. Breakfast choices are limited to sandwiches, different flavours of croissants, tea and coffee. No hot breakfast on offer.
- Belen (2/5): - Not happy about the customers service with Marco when i did the check in and the check out. Very aggressive man instead of apologized because i didn't get what i asked and what he promised to me in a message. He blamed it to the other workers and even me when i asked 😕
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Wonderful, helpful manager. Excellent location near landmarks and historical areas in Rome; near metro and buses. Quick walk to Vatican.
- Sarah (8/5): Good value! - Amazing location! Right by metro and blocks from St. Peter's. Very clean and comfortable. Wi-fi-- though free-- didn't work consistently. Definitely good value.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It’s location & authenticity.
Would of liked tea & coffee facilities
- Tash (8/5): - Easy access to everything and near all transports restaurants bars walk to the vatican and st Peter's
- baz (6/5): Nice B&B great location - Close to the Vatican (10 minutes walk) just watch out for the touts trying to sell you tickets to the Vatican museum.
- rachael (8/5): Lovely b&b - Great location. Right infront of the metro station. Walking distance from the Vatican. Clean and comfortable place. Had use of a fridge, air con, bed was comfy and breakfast brought to your room. The host was lovely very accomdating and friendly.
- kirstyw407 (10/5): Little gem - We stayed for 4 nights and cannot fault it. Fantastic value for money, perfectly positioned for exploring. Accommodation was very comfortable and extremely clean. What makes this place is Marco, very friendly and helpful. Would come back and stay here in a heartbeat.
- ciaran2delaney (8/5): Good Value accommodation ideally located in Rome - Booked this on line mainly from location map and price so family were worried at what we might find....very pleasntly surprised as this B&B (not really a hotel) is in an ideal location right next to the metro and a short walk to the Vatican. Loads of restaurants within a few yards of the place to suit every price level.Breakfast is delivered to your room at the time you request between 8 am to 9.30 limited choice but really tasty.
Rooms excellent and the whole place looks new.Very pleasant staff also. Would gladly stay here again if I get to Rome for a further visit -Great value too particularly bearing in mind location-I've put it in as mid-range but at the price we paid one could nearly call it Budget
- Maxnvn (8/5): Great stay - Great accommodation. Really friendly staff, clean rooms and the subway is literally three steps away from the door and can take you to all major attractions in the old city centre within 10-15 mins. Breakfast was served to us in our room which was nice.
You can sometimes hear some noise from the hallway or in other rooms but if the other guests are quiet and respectful this is not an issue.
- Q7700KVvickyt (10/5): It might not be 5 star but the staff make 5 stars - The fact that the staff are very helpful nothing is a problem but they are very n
Knowledgeable about what ever you ask them .Also its in the heart of eveything metro bus shops supermarkets laundromat.
AND the best of all only 5 m8nutes walking from vatican city
- AmiPin (10/5): A great stay - Stayed in this accommodation from the 11th to 15th May. Met by friendly staff. Rooms were clean and comfy & modern. The room was ideal for our city visit, location was perfect as stone throw away from the Vatican & can walk easily to the other main attraction. Metro directly outside if needed. Marco the manager was extremely helpful & nothing was too much trouble for him. Already looking to book again for next year!.
- CarlaJones1986 (10/5): Lovely Hotel - Great Location - We had a lovely stay in this hotel for 5 nights and the manager could not have been more accommodating. There was a mix up with our room as we had our small daughter with us and a twin room was booked. This was quickly rectified and we were given a family room which was lovely and clean.
The hotel is basic and breakfast is simple with coffee and croissants but it has everything you need.
The location is fantastic and we found we could walk to most places, however there is a underground a few yards from the entrance of this hotel.
We would definitely book this hotel again
- trudh2015 (8/5): Rooms have been updated nice place to stay - This B&B does not do it self justice the photos are old one and they have done lots I
Of work the room was large clean and the bed were comfortable memory foam mattresses
This hotel is in an ideal location right next to the metro and a short walk to the Vatican.
Breakfast is delivered to your room at the time you request between 8 am to 9.30 limited choice but really tasty.
The gentleman on reception was really helpful phoning the company we had organised to do are transfer to find out times for us which helped with the language barrier.
When I return to Rome I will stay here again and would recommend it to friends and family.
- 314judem (10/5): Amazing B & B in Rome, Italy - Our week stay at San Pietro B & B exceeded our expectations in every way! Very modern, clean rooms and quick walking distance to Vatican and St. Peter's....Metro right outside the door as are restaurants, markets etc. Attentive service from Marco and staff who arranged personal tours of sights for us. New Years Eve we found chocolates and champagne in our room! Croissants and coffee were delivered to our room each morning! We had an amazingly positive experience here!
- Kuan1986 (10/5): Good position and convenient transportation! 極佳地理位置且交通方便! - Great location, very close to Ottaviano metro station. The metro station just in front of the hotel gate. It also close to Vatican city (less 10 minute by walk). It's very convenient for many kinds restaurants, pharmacies, make-up stores nearby the rooms.
Hotel owner was very friendly. Room was clean, and Wi-Fi signal was great. The rooms also provided TV, hair dryer, and breakfast. We Stayed at the hotel for 10 days, the sleep quality was great for us. If We have a chance to go Rome again, the hotel will be the first choice.
- GemmaH1829 (10/5): Everything we wanted. - Awesome!!! The location is great, so close to Vatican city, and so so close for the metro meaning getting around Rome is very stress free. There are some great restaurants around in the area, and little shops too.
The room was great, everything we wanted and needed...especially air conditioning!!! Staff were friendly and it was lovely getting our courtesy call before we departed the UK to introduce the owner. Breakfast was lovely, fresh pastries and very very strong coffee which you need for all the walking you do in Rome. The owner was happy for us to leave our bags there on our last day so we could do some stress free shopping. Everything was very clean and comfortable when we return we will definitely be happy to stay here again.
- Companion807422 (6/5): It's not too bad, but it's not good either - Stayed here for a week because it was the only cheap thing available last minute at Easter and our original plans had fallen through. The rooms are fine; there's an aircon/heater that we found needed to be kept on 24/7 at maximum temperature in order to not be cold even though the weather was pretty mild (ranging from ~8 degrees at night to 20 degrees at the height of noon), so that was a tad annoying but not too difficult to navigate. Our room was the closest to the reception, and it was a nightmare. The reception has a 1970s-style phone whose volume is dialled up to 11 - the owners are only there sporadically, so about 70 times whilst we were there the phone would ring blaringly loud, and nobody would be there to answer it, so it would keep ringing, and ringing, and ringing... It got to the point where we were going to go out and pull the phone out of the wall just to shut it up. And this is all hours of the night or day. Another issue was the noise coming from the reception area on several nights, late at night (around midnight). The first time I went out to ask someone what on earth was going on and one owner was sat there with a bunch of male friends having a catchup. When I enquired disbelievingly as to why he was making his own guests be disturbed, I was given a half answer/brush off with some nonsense about "they have to do the 'work'". There was absolutely no apology about the disturbance, and when I asked how long they'd be making this racket he just put his hands in the air in an 'I dunno' gesture, again with no hint of guilt or apology. Ridiculous. The room we had didn't come with a bathroom (a surprise to us as I was sure I'd booked a private bathroom) which was inconvenient but also the cleanliness of the shared bathrooms by the end of the day was quite bad, so if you stay here I absolutely can't stress enough to have a pair of thongs with you to wear in the 2 inches of pooled water - avoid that tinea! The hand soap in the bathroom wasn't replaced when depleted, and for some reason it was a big upheaval getting more soap to wash our hands with when using the toilet. The main thing I must stress is the breakfast. It's not breakfast. Please don't think you will be getting breakfast. You will have a pot of coffee and 3 dessert pastries presented between two people, then one of the two owners will stand nearby and watch you like a hawk while you eat. Nobody who had the breakfast on the 7 mornings I was there looked anything other than uncomfortable. It was such an unnatural environment, being watched. In a few Italian hotels their 'breakfast' is chocolate croissants and other desserts like that, but it doesn't make it any easier to stomach a sugary, fatty pastry at 7 o'clock in the morning, day after day. We had to buy our own cereal, milk and fruit to have a proper breakfast each day. We went out there just for the luke warm pots of tea we were begrudgingly served each day. When someone looked potentially finished, he'd come over and clear the table, then when reappearing with more desserts, would really embarrassingly tell the person not to touch the stuff on the table as it's for the next guests, so even if the person was with a group who were sitting there for another 20 minutes, they had to sit at their table but weren't allowed to have another dessert or cup of tea/coffee; cringe-worthy awkwardness... The location of the hotel is really good in terms of metro station, the Vatican, and it's only a short walk into the CBD really, so it was good for that.
There were some truly outrageous and astoundingly bad bits, and there were some convenient bits; combine them with a cheap price, and this place scores an average for me. If the price had been higher or the location less convenient, there's no way it would've got more than a 1-2 stars from me.
Happy travels!
- 319theresev (8/5): I thought it more than adequate... - I have stayed here when I am in Rome. It is my choice as 'go to' accommodation. Location and simplicity trumps any cosmetic appeal. It is clean tidy and 'quirky', part of the charm of a new destination. A older gentleman named Franko is a typical Roman, he's helpful, friendly, but not effusive. He appears to know a thing or two about people, and the expectations of overseas travellers who want all the comforts of home then transfer their annoyance and demands. To coin a phrase, "While in Rome do as the Romans do."
Please consider...
- nadezhdao214 (6/5): A great place to start exploring Rome...very accesible..either by bus or Metro - A very good location to start your trip to Rome..5-7 minutes walk to St.Peters Basilica and Castel San Angelo..Lots of shops along the way for souvenirs..If you want to take the train, Ottaviano metro is just in front of the San pietro rooms. If you want to take the bus,you need to walk 5 mins to reach piazza risorgimento..Staffs are heplful and can speak english, they gave us a free map of the city..We stayed for 8 days and need to laundry our soiled clothes, the staff taught us where is the nearest coin laundry station. Our room is big for (3) ,2 adults and 1 baby..We had shared bathroom ,but thats fine..it turned out okay.. They have 2 bathrooms includes the shower..Everyday they serve pastries and latte (coffee and milk for breakfast)dont expect any variety on foods..Budget hotel and your moneys worth it,,because of the great location, nice clean room and hospitable staff.
- 520neildd (8/5): A gem of a place near the Vatican City - Close to the Vatican city this truly is a gem of a place to stay. A short walk or a trip on the Metro will get you to all key attractions in Rome, but the hotel location is in a quiet unspoilt area. There is an excellent choice of local restaurants, starting from just two doors away. The staff were friendly, knowledegable and spoke excellent English. Only too glad to advise and provide detailed information when requested. They even presented my wife with a bottle of sparkling wine on ice for her birthday - a really personal touch. Wll recommended.
- Remquito (6/5): Ok, but (friendly) service can be better - The stay itself was good, but don't expect the service of a 5-star hotel. I am quite easy-going on service and the service at check in or the kind of person who attends me in the reception. I can get along with many people easily and I am friendly, but the old man (80 years old, seriously) at check in (with all respect) was very rude. We arrived at 1:15am, because we had a late flight....check in was not really a warm welcome and when we asked for the wifi-code he started on someone who 'used the wifi all of his stay for 7 days in beautiful Rome', his personal trauma I guess. I understand, but wifi it's handy to call family for 5 minutes, right :-). It's not the kind of welcome you expect on arriving late (and tired). The stay itself was good, I liked it, close to everything, breakfast was ok, don't expect a 5-star breakfast, but that's what you pay for. The hotel was clean, but if you look well it can be some cleaner. We had a good stay, because we are not such difficult persons, but no we won't stay here another time. A friendly person at reception is very important after all, the success of a hotel starts with this.
- marlouu18 (8/5): Great location; Good service ; OK Hotel - We arrived a little before 9PM without letting the hotel know but it was fine, we were welcomed by the old man, he showed us everything there was to know about the hotel and gave us some great information about Rome. The room was clean and really big for just two persons: two kingsized beds and lots of space around them. The bathrooms were alright, the shower is a little small but hey, it's great for that price! The review below this one says not to stay here and that the old man is a grinch, but we really have no clue where this is based on; he helped us really well and was friendly in his own way.
- 738srdjans (8/5): Nice little hotel close to Rome's major attractions - Everything went well. Service was good, rooms basic but clean and one of the owners was very helpful and kind. It is located right next to the Vatican and there is a subway station just a few meters away, so it's a great starting point to explore the city. Recommended!
- 320jaceyb (4/5): Yikes - BELIEVE WHAT EVERYONE IS SAYING. Do not stay here! When I arrived I was a little creeped out because I thought I was entering a place where I was going to be killed. I am not that high maintenance, but I definitely was not informed of the community bathroom. That was disgusting.
The first man I was introduced upon my arrival was nice. But, when he left another man came in, who I would like to call the grinch. He was approximately 85-90 years old and had a hunch pack from notre dame. He was VERY rude and scared me.
The wifi was terrible/non-existent. I went to ask the grinch why the wifi wasn't working and his exact words, "because I turned it off". It was 10pm. I said "why did you turn it off". He said "because it is late". LOL
This was a terrible experience I was scared to even stay in my room!!!! The only good thing is the location. But trust me, you can find an alternative where you can feel comfortable and not like in Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
- 855elisem (2/5): Don't stay here - The only good thing about this hotel is its location. It is near a Metro station, and within walking distance of the Vatican and St. Peter's Square and Basilica.
Otherwise: hotel staff very unfriendly, poor breakfast (only sugary pastries and bad coffee), room left unlocked after cleaning. Even though their website says that there is wifi in the rooms, this was not the case for us. When we went to use the wifi in the lobby, we were told to go and use it in our rooms. When we replied that the wifi in our room was not working, this was met with a "that's impossible".
Avoid this place if you can.
- Ccarmy (2/5): Great Location, Not clean - Day time desk help was not very friendly or helpful and kind of creepy. Breakfast was dull and boring, same old stale pastry’s every day. No fresh fruit. Rooms were not that clean. Loved the location. Just a room to stay.
