- Andrew (8/5): Comfortable central stay - perfect for a St Cuthbert Way walker - Central and v comfortable
Great shower
The manager Asanta extremely helpful
- Susan (10/5): Excellent value, and central location made perfect by the lady in charge. - The lady running the hotel was excellent, friendly, efficient, helpful and very friendly and welcoming.
- Jani (8/5): -
- Simon (7/5): - Clean functional room No bar, no restaurant, and no staff, it's just a room. Pleasant girl gave us the room key and said if you want to eat there is one bar in town.. it was a ghost town and we nearly didn't get to eat at all
- Anthony (9/5): - The staff were excellent so friendly and helpful Price was a bit high, the bed was advertised as a double but was 2 singles put together which wasn't the most comfortable
- Peter (7/5): - Good location, ok value for money A bit dated and basic
- Tom (9/5): Lovely friendly place to stay - Lovely friendly place to stay

- AncientFootsteps (10/5): Friendly family run hotel - Warm welcome from proprietors who were very helpful and obliging - happy to go the extra mile
Very neat clean comfortable room with excellent sound insulation - we didn't hear anything from inside or outside the building
Good breakfast
Secure overnight storage for our bikes
A historic building which has been sensitively modernised throughout Nothing to complain about the hotel itself but evening food options in Jedburgh seem to be very limited these days
- James (9/5): - Everything Nothing
- Sarah (8/5): - Lovely warm room. Comfy bed. Slept really well. Clean. Lovely breakfast. Freezing cold bathroom, no heater, heated towel thing not working. Didnt use the shower due to bathroom being so cold.
- Michael (10/5): - Super nette Betreiber und ein sehr schönes, sauberes und hochwertiges Zimmer. Parken ist kostenfrei in der Umgebung möglich und wir konnten sogar unsere Fahrräder unterstellen.
- Graham (8/5): Great for a break of journey. - Good breakfast
- shall (10/5): - Very good location to shops and facillities. Hotel is very clean, with large comfortable beds and exvellent breakfast. The staff are very pleasant, friendly and have good onformation on local events and places of interest. We have stayed here a couple of times, and will definately return.

- terence (6/5): Very close to being OK. - Room was a good size. Staff were very pleasant. Good location. Free parking. Breakfast was OK. Excellent large bed. The bathroom lacked hooks and shelves. For a very small outlay it could have been made perfect. Very odd opening times.
- Julie (10/5): -

- Caroline (10/5): Excellent and comfy stay - A very clean, comfy and welcoming hotel! We slept very well and it was lovely and quiet too. We had a very friendly welcome, and the boot drying room was welcome too. It wasn't clear whether there was breakfast available/included in the room - it wasn't, and the hotel cafe wasn't open. This wasn't a big problem, as there were nice cafes on the high street nearby.
- Kevin (8/5): - Location No replacement hot drinks. milk and biscuits or breakfast option.
- ANTHONY (10/5): -
- susie (3/5): Never again - Bedroom was comfortable Website is inaccurate. Main door is locked until 2.58pm so you cannot access the hotel. Reception is only manned from 3-8pm. Temperature in Reception was cold and we were told heating was not on in the rooms as housekeeping turn off in the morning we would need to put on the radiator ourselves if we wanted a warm room. There is no breakfast offered in “winter months” staff at reception were abrupt and demanded payment as we walked in the door.
Shower was underpowered and the base is incredibly slippy and the room looked neglected.
The whole “vibe” of this hotel is in it for the money & hostel not hotel.
- Yvonne (8/5): I’ll definitely book again, for my next visit. - It was in a good location, I received a very warm welcome and the room was spacious and spotless. As it was low season, there was no catering available.
- Beth (10/5): -
- Jumpy1986 (5/5): - Molto vicino al luogo di mio interesse Non è stata preparata la colazione
- Ratcliffe (9/5): very enjoyable stay in a lovely town - the room was lovely the bed was very comfy and layout of the room were excellent and the bathroom facilities were very good the bathroom facilities need more shelfs for placing items and the room did get cold at times, my partner put the radiator on and she was still cold
- Ann (8/5): -
- Karen (10/5): Absolutely perfect. Really helpful staff. - Really helpful and friendly.
- William (10/5): Great stay - Clean room comfy bed ideal location
- Robin (8/5): Decent - The male concierge was very helpful with local information. Nothing.
- Sylvia (10/5): We really enjoyed our stay the staff were very friendly and helpful -
- Maryanne (10/5): Excellent - The owners were super friendly and helpful! They recommended a place for dinner that was so delicious! The room and bathroom were lovely as well. Everything was good!
- Steven (10/5): Exceptional value for money, great friendly helpful staff - The hotel and room were spotless, the room was very large and spacious, the staff could not do enough for us. There was no place to eat out, so the staff set up 2 dinner places (plates, cutlery, napkins salt & pepper, sauce) in a lovely room where we could eat a curry-out meal and they also provided tea etc without any charge.
- kathleen (9/5): Lovely hotel with very lovely couple running it. - Staff lovely, bed extremely comfy and warm. Very helpfully provided a space and dishes to eat takeaway as nothing open after 8-9pm. It maybe an idea in busy times to have some evening meal options or bar (like it says on the old sign at the end of the building) as few options in Jedburgh as everything closes early, for late arrivals. Thank you so much for trying to find somewhere open though.... Breakfast...need a cheaper smaller option as we didnt use much of it. Hotel sign not lit up so almost impossible to see in the dark! (Not hotel....but I wouldnt use Chinese takeaway option ...friendly but not great at all).
- Laura (10/5): Lovely stay will come again - Breakfast was lovely location was great
- Philip (8/5): - All N/A
- Simon (8/5): -
- Virginie (8/5): Très bon accueil -
- Keith (7/5): -
- Lynn (10/5): Wonderful friendly hosts that take pride in what they do. Would happily stay there again. - Had the cooked breakfast, well presented, tasted great and not greasy at all. Breakfast cereals and yogurts available although the cooked breakfast was enough for us.
Sleep wasnt disturbed. Couldn't hear any noise from the surrounding roads or car park.
Excellent value for money.
- Robert (9/5): A credit to the owners. - Great place to stop with our motorcycles and tour the area. Very clean , friendly couple. Nothing was too much trouble.
- Adam (10/5): -
- Susan (8/5): -
- Frank (9/5): -
- Diane (7/5): -
- Thomas (9/5): Comfortable, happy and wanting to stay longer - Breakfast was good, I liked the fact it was a simple menu that you could pick and choose what you ate. The room was clean and comfortable and the location was perfect for exploring the town, I wish we could have stayed longer. I did feel like the full Scottish could have had more but given the rest they offer, I wasn't disappointed!
- Caron (9/5): Staff very welcoming.Room was spacious and comfortable , breakfast delicious. - We had breakfast, the man serving breakfast was lovely polite and were served quickly. Had cooked breakfast and was served hot and was delicious. N/A
- Chris (6/5): A little more respect for customers' taste would change this otherwise satisfactory placee to stay - Sadly the breakfast was poor. A joice of a small glass of two fruit juices and what tasted like instant coffee, a single slice of supermarket bread and characteistic "full Scottish" and greasy breakfast didn't reflect the quality of local baking.. Surely having ground coffee and bread from a local bakery wouldnt break the bank balance of this otherwise homely and central hotel? Location and staff
- Paul (10/5): -
- I (8/5): - Good location to the Abbey, friendly staff. Really good value for money.
- Peter (10/5): - We loved our stay. The owners were charming and went the extra mile to make us welcome. Beds very comfy and showers were good. Delicious breakfast. And we thought the tapestry of Scottish rulers in the breakfast room was epic!
- PJ (4/5): Nice place with a few adaptations over time - Friendly. My image can be interesting for others being of lad type . But the gent had great manors. Definitely the best point of the visit. He said he was new to the country and i imagine he would still be adjusting to the way of life but however being in a good location will be enjoyable. One thing i wasnt sure on is leaving towels in a shower. This may be the normal thing for different countries but locals would be happy to use a basket with a bit of charm futher more most would feel rude to staff as it just not nice. No harm in using a basket. On to price for location yes perfect but i hope over time get the rural vibe but these things take time. Condition good tho shower drain wasnt locked in place. Slip hazard the older. I would have expected a small fridge for price. The worst bit was the no food. I understand the thought business wise but i will say as i usually live in the borders is your going to lose so much custom from locals. If you get tye community behind you then the sky is the limit. We need food theres a Chinese across the road. Yes there is a cafe/restaurant but when you exhausted you just want to eat and sleep. Also diabetics babies and elderly need emergency and extra food or meals. I would think most business is from the uk so adapting to the uk (Scottish b&b) culture while keeping your own values. Smart thinking makes money
- Pamela (10/5): 5* & would strongly recommend anyone wanting to stay in Jed to book. - The owner cudnt do enough for u, i even borrowed a pen.
Bed was VERY comfortable & lovely bedding. I loved everything!

- Amy (9/5): -
- Asgeir (9/5): -
- Elaine (5/5): - Easy to find Lovely staff , poor facilities , expensive for what it is.
- Shaun (10/5): Well located stop on Border Abbeys Way. - One of the cleanest hotels I have ever stayed in. Comfy bed with crisp bedding. The owners obviously take pride in their establishment.
- Louise (10/5): - Hotel very clean and well presented.
In a great position within Jedburgh town.
The people who own the hotel were very friendly. Nothing - all good
- Jocelyn (10/5): -
- Florent (9/5): -
- Lauren (8/5): Clean big room - Clean. Great location. Hosts were friendly. Didn't have the breakfast. Was impressed by the room. all the stairs with no lift and z heavy suitcase was t ideal
No food in the room. Ok for a night stay but if I was staying longer that wouldn't be ok
- Drew (10/5): Excellent Stay - Enjoyed my stay very much. The Hotel was very clean, the room was big and bed very comfortable. It was also nice and warm. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was very good, with plenty selection. Overall a very good place to stay👍.
- michael (8/5): Comfortable stay, would return - Comfortable bed and room
Refurbished bathroom
Parking behind hotel
Good location
Pleasant helpful staff Constructive suggestion - Healthy breakfast options could be added eg berries, nuts, granola, grapes or melon ?
- Taylor (10/5): - Lovely couple running the hotel. Great breakfast and clean rooms - couldn’t ask for more!
- Alan (7/5): Hotel met requirements but lack of an evening food offering is an inconvenience. -
- Marco (9/5): -
- Laura (9/5): -
- Angela (9/5): -
- Bloor (9/5): Very enjoyable great town to explore - Breakfast good location superb Access to soap/shampoo when standing in the shower
- James (10/5): We had a very comfortable stay here. Amazing - I liked everything about this hotel. It’s well managed and the breakfast was great. The couple who run this hotel go above and beyond to help you have a great stay Nothing
- Carole (8/5): -
- Louise (9/5): Nice hotel - The room was clean and tidy with nice linen and towels. The breakfast was very nice No bar or restaurant
- Peter (9/5): - Lovely hotel in great location which can offer several attractions to visit. Bedroom airy and very comfortable and breakfast very adequate. All managed by very pleasant couple.
- Clarissa (8/5): Convenient and comfortable hotel with friendly welcome in the heart of Jedburgh, next to the Abbey - Friendly welcome including helpful advice on where to eat. The room was very comfortable. It would have been nice to have a choice of eggs (e.g. fried) at breakfast and the scrambled egg served was rather watery.
- Natasha (9/5): Great place - The host was friendly and helpful. The room was lovely , spacious and very clean You can only have your egg at breakfast one way and that's the way it is listed on the menu
- Stuart (10/5): Excellent stopping off point. - Very friendly hotel. Room had all that we required for our one night stay. Right in the centre of Jedburgh.
Breakfast excellent. Nil
- trevor (10/5): A fabulous stay - The Royal was a terrific find for us. The owners were delightful and the hotel their pride and joy. Breakfast is delicious and included and the room, and bed were very comfortable. The shower is good also.
- david (9/5): Great traditional building. Good location. - Attentive friendly staff. Had no problem accommodating our bicycles. No bar or restaurant. But it’s location meant there were alternatives on the doorstep.
- Roger (8/5): - We enjoyed our stay at the Royal Hotel. Though the hike up to the third floor was a bit of a challenge with suitcases, the room was comfortable as was the bed.
Breakfast downstairs was very nice.
We would stay here again in the future!
- Ben (8/5): I only stayed one night, but the hotel was everything I expected and the owners were very decent :) -
- Nigel (10/5): -
- Theresa (8/5): -
- Graham and Jenny (10/5): - The staff were very friendly and helpful and breakfast was freshly cooked to order. However, there was no bar or restaurant in the hotel and apparently all the nearby bars in Jedburgh close at 8pm! Luckily there was a fantastic Italian restaurant opposite which was superb so we ate well.
- Michael (8/5): -
- kenneth (8/5): Comfortable and central - Comfortable room friendly staff Breakfast was limited choice . The shower required re grouting in a couple of places.
