Karen (8/5): Great food, comfortable stay - Great atmosphere and friendly staff very comfortable bed The water was very hot in the shower! Also would have been good to have something to open and shut the velux blinds - the staff did it for us
Sue (8/5): A hidden gem with a very pleasant host - Miles couldn’t have been more authentically helpful and interested in our stay - letting us know about the local area, hosting a quiz, being very personable and talking football as a very important match was on! The room was very good, spacious and nicely located from the main Inn. Only downside, you couldn’t open any windows and we wanted a little fresh air.

Mary (8/5): We had a really nice time. - The scrambled eggs were salted. I have high blood pressure. English breakfast too salty. Sausages were not that great. Plain black coffee was terrible, bitter. The cupachino was good. Yogurt and granola was really good. The staff are very nice and personable. We enjoyed our stay. Thank you. See above. English breakfast too salty. The beer is not that great. However, Friday night a new beer was on tap and that was good.

If given to r choice I would have preferred to stay in the hotel itself.

The carpets look very grubby and the bathroom was cold. I wouldn't say cleaning was a priority in our room. It said there was a fridge and there wasnt. When I was in the shower it blocked up and started to flood. Luckily my husband fixed it by plunging the plug like crazy. Its a shame as the pub is beautiful and the staff are amazing

The helpfulness of the staff particularly someone called Jess who responded to my online queries regarding our late arrival. The choice of breakfasts and able to accommodate a gluten free diet. The rooms were beautifully presented, very comfortable, and included thoughtful extras that you would normally expect to pay for or request separately. Despite the restaurant being busy—including two large tables of ten—the team remained efficient and delivered outstanding service. Breakfast was superb, and the coffee was exceptional—easily on par with, if not better than, what you’d expect from well-known chains. Fran (10/5): A perfect place to stay - A group of us 'took over' the Langdon as a base for a family wedding and we couldn't have been happier with our choice. Dan and his team went above and beyond to ensure our 2 night stay was comfortable and pleasant. We had an evening meal and 2 x breakfasts which were tasty, hot and we'll prepared and presented. Our rooms were comfortable and had everything we could need. The decor and furniture throughout were in keeping with the history of the building and, as mentioned earlier, the staff were exceptional. Not one of our party had anything negative to say and we will certainly be visiting again Nothing!!!!

Sadly disappointed on this visit, the room was questionable with stained walls, cracked sink and stained bed covers. The restaurant was slightly disappointing too whereas previously the food was excellent on this visit it was mediocre.

The food at the pub was excellent with a good choice of dishes on the menu. Breakfast too is very good with lots of choices. If you are an early traveler then a breakfast on the go is available.

A great nights sleep followed by a lovely breakfast. We also had dinner which wasn't cheap but far beyond pub grub. It was delicious. We could not fault this place and will return and highly recommend to family and friends. We didn't like leaving!
